I'm sure the 1.8 Endura Diesel was upgraded to common rail in later Fords.

I don't know what engine the Escort or Fester had, but it's the older engine with purely mechanical injection. Certainly not common rail.

Good for a whopping 88bhp, although it always seemed to pull the Mondy along quite nicely while still managing 50mpg (55 on a cruise).
