See my comments in the Mp3tag forum.  I think you're making the
solution more complicated than necessary if those are your only
requirements.  A simple mapping of 'ALBUMARTIST' (target) to 'ALBUM
ARTIST' (source) in Mp3tag is all that should be necessary.  Then in
Mp3tag for FLAC files you'll see and use 'ALBUMARTIST', but it actually
reads and writes 'ALBUM ARTIST'.  The ID3v2 mapping will remain
unchanged, so 'ALBUMARTIST' will read and write TPE2 for MP3 files.

With a mapping like this you should be able to use the same Mp3tag
actions on either FLAC or MP3 files with no need for conditional
statements or special action groups to handle one or the other.  And
that's only if you need the space in 'ALBUM ARTIST'.  If you don't need
it, Mp3tag should work in its out-of-box default configuration for both
MP3 and FLAC files.
