Finally edit /etc/fstab to add the NAS mount so that the NAS will be
mounted when you boot the server, embarrassing to forget this then panic
when 6 months later the server goes down and gets restarted and the NAS
does not mount......
In fact after umounting /var/snd, edit /etc/fstab and make the change to
mount the NAS, then just typing mount /var/snd should mount the NAS
(This way you can verify that the entry in fstab is correct).

Do also make sure that the NAS is formatted for a linux filesystem, NTFS
or whatever they call it these days has completely the wrong semantics.

The NAS must be mounted before nfsd comes up, but that should just work
(Dangerous talk!).

Regards, Dan.
