I came from a Lionel O27 back ground with a smattering of Athearn blue box
running at a club layout. My main interest was O27 growing up and the S scale
was an easy move from O27 and the realism jump was light years ahead of Lionel.
The AM FP7 ran as good as or better than my Athearn GP35 and was the size I
liked. The FP7 and half dozen AM box cars started me down this eclectic path.
In hindsight, I wish I hadn't strayed into O scale for a few years, the
equipment from that will be on the sales block here soon.
