I purchased an American Flyer set in 1953 with corn detassling money. From
there I went into HO in 1960, and bought a Northeastern stock car kit in May of
1964. Although S "scale", the Northeastern trucks had tinplate (Hi-rail?)
wheels.
The seed germinated until May of 1972, when one of those Northeastern trucks
surfaced on my workbench and refused to be denied or ignored. The rest is
history.
