Re: [otrs] emails with large attachments takes very long
hi michiel, thanks a lot for your answer. so, i did the comparison. everything excepting sending an email is pretty fast (about 2-5s für 10MB). sending an email with 10MB as an attachment takes about 3 minutes. at this point you will say, that there is a problem with the mailserver... but i am not sure. if i really had a problem with the mail server, then i would experiencing exactly the same behaviour with unsing an email client... but the email client sends also pretty fast and so i would say that this is not the bottleneck. what about perl? if i understand otrs code well, there is a transformation into base64 and during the 3 minutes trying to send the email, i recognize a very high load of the server cpu (100% on one core). don't you think that there is another problem that is maybe placed into the transformation into base64 or maybe something directly with perl... thanks again for your help. regards, patrick. -Ursprüngliche Nachricht- Von: otrs-boun...@otrs.org [mailto:otrs-boun...@otrs.org] Im Auftrag von Michiel Beijen Gesendet: Mittwoch, 7. Re: [otrs] Emails via IMAP is fetched by server but never gets insertedto SQL(OTRS)
Found the problem. I had changed the priority names. Eg. Priority: 3 normal -> 3 medium When I changed it back from "3 medium" to "3 normal" it problem was solved and emails was inserted into SQL again. The setting can be adjusted at OTRS -> Admin -> System->Priority I found this by looking at the log files under: C:\Program Files\OTRS\OTRS\var\log\otrs.log [Wed Jun 3 12:56:01 2009][Error][Kernel::System::Ticket::TicketCreate][422] No PriorityID (invalid Priority Name?)! ) Best regards Daniel Tangen Fra: otrs-boun...@otrs.org [mailto:otrs-boun...@otrs.org] Sendt: 3. juni 2009 10:17 Til: otrs@otrs.org Emne: [otrs] Emails via IMAP is fetched by server but never gets insertedto SQL(OTRS) Hi, I have installed OTRS successfully and setup an IMAP account towards an Exchange 2003 server. I've installed wireshark (network analyzer) to see that the email is fetched via IMAP protocol into the server when the cronw is running. [otrs] eMails with wide characters blocking mailbox
Hello, I got an OTRS installation on a Redhat ES Linux 4 box. This OTRS fetches mails from our Exchange 2003 server. Sometimes there are mails with special characters in the subject header. The OTRS PostMasterPOP3.pl will fail on these mails and thus no tickets will be fetched until this blocking mail is removed manually from the Mailbox. The problem seems to be in one of the Perl-Modules OTRS is using. This is the error message I get when running the PostMasterPOP3.pl from the command line: Message 3/17 ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Wide character in syswrite at /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.5/Net/Cmd.pm line 436. RE: [otrs] Emails
RTFM :-)) Copied from the manual: - OTRS has many config options. There are two config files. Kernel/Config.pm and Kernel/Config/Defaults.pm. Kernel/Config/Defaults.pm is the default config file which should not be changed. You will find all possible config options in this file. Is quite simple to read. Kernel/Config.pm.dist is the example file for Kernel/Config.pm (custom config file) which must be copied (cp Kernel/Config.pm.dist Kernel/Config.pm). How it works! The Kernel/Config/Defaults.pm (default config settings) is loaded at first, then the Kernel/Config.pm (custom config file). So if you want to change the default config settings, copy (copy and paste) the needed options from Kernel/Config/Defaults.pm into Kernel/Config.pm and change the values like you want. - Regards, Peter -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Graeme Brough Sent: woensdag 8 juni 2005 13:07 To: User questions and discussions about OTRS.org Subject: Re: [otrs] Emails Hi Richard, I have often wondered that myself, but never had the time to investigate further, I suspect it may actually be Default.pm, but that is an absolute guess with no substance. Hi! Yes, thats absolutely right. All default settings come from Defaults.pm and are overwritten by the settings in Config.pm. In 2.0 the Defaults.pm is splitted in some more files located under Kernel/Config/Files, but also the Config.pm is the right place for personal settings. Re: Re: [otrs] Emails
hi, this works quite simple (afaik) at first it reads the defaults.pm and then config and overwrites everthing that is found there. defaults contains all vars (and will be updated if you update the system, so keep your hands off...) conffig only the ones that you like to modify. just .02 euros. [otrs] Emails
Guys, What I am after is some advice on amending the way email text is setup. Below is an example from an email from Christian. You can see that the salutation 'Hi Owen' is added and then the new text is added below the original mail. Is it possible to change this so new text is automatically added above the original mail - or possibly get rid of the original mail text altogether?
