No, it's a Ham & Spouse thing (unless your spouse is a ham).
I am fortunate in that my XYL is trying very hard to be patient. That's
helped by the fact that the K3 is cheaper (especially with current exchange
rates) that the FT-2000 :-)

Since the sensors connect to the W@ via CAT5, presumably they use
RJ45s - could I just plug'n'play?
Will a sensor still pass RF ok without being plugged in? I bet it will?

Why would you want to do that?
Surely the KPA3, with all it's integrated features, an additional Ant.
socket and Elecraft reliability and support far outweigh any other
option?
Plus of course it's all in the same box, with the same supply and not
another piece of equipment to install, carry
How will that be achieved for those of us outside the US - what kind
of shipment?

I understand what you are saying, but an PDA IS a computer! Perhaps
not what you may think of as a PC or Mac, but they are computers.
As is the K3! Ok, the K3 is not a general purpose computer - you can't
do spreadsheets on it (yet!), but it has firmware and processors etc -
it's a computer.
And I thought our VAT was complicated!
