I have reregistered for the newbie list twice and I am still not
recieving anything from the list. I rely on the list for answers to
problems and just look forward to others opinions. I don't understand
what the problem is. Can someone please figure out what is going on.
TIA, Maureen
Is this list defunct or have I been inadvertenly dropped. I have not

I have the HP OfficeJet G85, fax, scanner, copier, printer and it works
fine in 9.0, 9.1, 9.2 and 10.00. I can print in draft at 300 all the

I upgraded to KDE 2.2 and am using K-Office. So far it hasn't crashed
or froze on me and I have imported all the documents I was using from
Lotus SmartSuite and it hasn't lost a thing. I am very pleased with
it. Some small improvements in K-Spread are needed, like multi copy,
but otherwise it
is excellant. I did use a front case fan, a PCI slot fan and a
rear case fan, as well as the fan that came with my AMD chip. I don't
believe I will go back to Intel. It's a Duron chip by the way. Just my
2 cents worth. Maureen

I upgraded the kernel from the rpm files as stated in the security
alert. I did the iptables and lm-utils with the rpm package manager. I
used the instructions that came with the security alert.

Rebooted with no problems.

the same Actiontec Modem). I also put in a WD 7200RPM 40 gb harddrive and
kept my WD 10.4 GB with Mandrake installed on it.
