I noticed two major problems with XAV (I've notified the author but

It shows how to use CMD file language to stript the first 4 chars and work

For the history behind it.
I was also strugeling with xav. In between I have it running well with
F-prot, AVG and mcafee(not at the same time).
Run Xmail in debugmode and look for the returncode, give the paramers to
let your av software make a report and see what files they are checking.

I agree, you should only implement these sort of hooks on the header.
But would you call the filter at the end of the header, or after each line?

Hello everybody,
I'm thinking of filtering spam with comparing MAIL FROM:<> with the
From: message header. It's just a thought now, can anyone give comments
and/or links about it?
It's a bit off-topic so please answer me directly and not to the whole list.

OK .. this is true for checking the data part. Under the aspect of =

But Hooks for the envelope lines and the start of data would be=20

That's the point!
Furthermore a scripter could implement bandwidth throttling by counting incoming SMTP
connections during a certain timeframe.
Exceeding connections could get a 'try again later' result code. Such hooks would make
things flexible to the max.
