Re: [AI] Internet banking with thumb impression

2015-09-01 Thread pooja
friends, I am also availing the facilities like net-banking, credit-card and
demat with SBI. but what to do with private operators?
they are demanding PAN-card with signature. they are denying various
banking facilities on the ground of thumb-impression.

There are problems still in getting banking rights but these are few as

Hello,

give in writing that I can't avail the facilities using thumb impression.
He said no, since your VI I can't give you and he raised lots of questions
like, what if your net banking password get hacked?
What if your card get stolen?
And so on. I shown him circulars of RBI and SBI in which clearly stated
that there should not be any discrimination by giving these facilities to
VI; still he was denying me. I asked him to write the same thing that
since

your VI I can't give these facilities to you. I boldly told him I'll not
leave the counter unless I get the facilities or denial in written. I also
taking video while talking to him. After seeing my mobile, he requested me
to stop the video I said I won't! then he scared a bit and told me to wait
for 2 3 days. After 5 days, I received the debit card by post and when I
gone to get pin of it he gave me the net banking as well. So, I won the

Don't know what should we do since lot of people face the same problem
while getting these facilities.

I am using SBI net banking with thum impression. However, I got all the
facilities under the corporate salary account. Don't know if I want to open
another saving account personally, will I get it all the facilities or not.
Because I too heard some cases about denying net banking/cheque book/debit card
facilities to the VI users.

Are there some among us who have had internet banking of SBI with thumb

For here SBI denies it… and RBI notifications and all.

I thinkSBI system regards thumb affixers as illiterate.
So, any precedents?

2015-08-31 Thread Mahesh S. Panicker
I don't have one with SBI, but I do have net banking with PNB and
Federal Bank. PNB was a bit of a problem to get at the beginning but
now I have been using it for the last 7 years or so, and with Federal
Bank there was absolutely no issue whatsoever, in fact I registered
online for the same.

hrms and internet banking requires either sql server or jawa run time
environment, depends upon the developer. if the same compatible application
is loaded on your mobile phone, it should open correctly and be accessible

Hello sir,

Up to my knowledge some of my visually challenged friends are using
internet
banking through their Nokia mobiles successfully. There is no risk in
using

Internet Banking untill you maintain passwrd secrecy. In S B I we have
internal circular recommending internet banking for visually challenged
persons. But only limitation is, as per the circular we are eligible only
for viewing rights and it is silent about the issue of transaction rights.

Coming to your point of HRMS, upto me HRMS Portal is totally inaccessible.
For each and every work like Pay slip printouts, allowances, IDF, Medical
reimbursement etc.,I totally depend on sighted persons only .

Re: [AI] Internet banking and HRMS through nokia e5 mobile.

2012-09-11 Thread mukesh jain
Hello,
As I have noticed that there are few persons working in sbi who are
the list members, I do kindly request them or any of you to give me
the solution for my below mentioned problem.
I am using the services like net banking, sms mobile banking, debet
(visa) card etc of SBI. recently, I am facing serious problem in making
online payment via debet (visa) card issued by SBI. I have been using
this visa card since a year. Till now I had no
problem in making online payment but since two months, I am facing
serious problem in making the payment through this visa card. I have
made couple of transactions using this card earlier but recently,
whenever I try to make
the online payment after going to any online shopping site I am fail
to make any
transaction. After making the transactions, at the end on the
transaction status page, I get the remarks that your transaction has
been declined. On some sites, I get the remarks that transaction
status: failure reason for failure: this card has been reserved for
private use. Because even after taking all the security measures in
to consideration while
making online purchase such as, entering correct details like personal
details, all passwords I am unable to make any payment.

I have also ensured the check points such as,
URL address on the address bar of my internet browser beginned with
https, Looked for the padlock symbol in the address bar Verified the
security certificate by clicking on the padlock.
Ensured that the site was secured with an SSL Certificate that meets
the Extended Validation Standard.

Keeping in mind to avail any alternate payment mechanism, I have also
applied for sbi virtual card and tried to make the payment but the
same error has been faced by me.

In this regard, I am unable to resolve this problem and is out of my
understanding because the other services like sms mobile banking and
net banking are working properly.

I have brought this issue in to the notice of my serving branch but no
satisfactory reply has been received yet from them. I do understand to
give them reasonable period of time to look in to this issue but even
they are not able to guide me properly. So kindly give the solution if
possible such as,
1. are there any major issues faced recently by SBI users as
technical reasons as sometimes I keep get the alerts that for the
specified period of time your facility of online banking will be
unavailable for upgradation etc
2. what could be the reason for my aforesaid problem?
3. what is the speedy and proper way to adopt the grievance and redressal?

Your kind cooperation in this regard would be highly obliged.
Thanking you,

Re: [AI] Internet banking and HRMS through nokia e5 mobile.

2012-09-10 Thread mamta
Hello to all,

This is just to tell you that in my branch my work profile also involve
working extensively with HRMS and HRMS Portal is totally accessible.
For each and every work like Pay slip printouts, allowances, IDF, Medical
reimbursement etc.,I Totally do it by my self and also do it for all others
staff of my branch. I print pay slips for everyone, I put reimbursement for
everyone on the first of every month. I also put investment details and
update all other details in hrms by my self without anyone's help.

all in all, Hrms site of SBI is totally accessible and fully functional with
jaws and it works totally fine at all times. We do not require any sighted
person to help or do anything at all.

Thanks.

Hello sir,

Up to my knowledge some of my visually challenged friends are using internet
banking through their Nokia mobiles successfully. There is no risk in using
Internet Banking untill you maintain passwrd secrecy.

Dear Sir,
Banking facilities to the visually challenged
It has been brought to our notice that visually challenged persons are
facing problems in availing banking facilities. It may be noted that
banking facilities
including cheque book facility / operation of ATM / locker etc. cannot
be

denied to the visually challenged as they are legally competent to

2. It may be recalled that in the Case No. 2791/2003, the Honourable
Court of Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities had passed
Orders dated 05.09.2005
which was forwarded by IBA to all the member banks vide their circular
letter dated October 20, 2005. In the above Order, the Honorable Court
has instructed
that banks should offer all the banking facilities including cheque book
facility, ATM facility and locker facility to the visually challenged
and

also
assist them in withdrawal of cash. Further, in Para 14 of the above
Order, the Honorable Court has observed that visually impaired persons
cannot be denied
the facility of cheque book, locker and ATM on the possibility of risk
in

operating / using the said facility, as the element of risk is involved

3. Banks are therefore advised to ensure that all the banking facilities
such as cheque book facility including third party cheques, ATM

offered to the visually challenged without any discrimination. Banks may
also

Dear Mam
Although the correct legal approach is that there need not be any
special undertaking for us, because the legal liabilities of the bank
is same in our case as it is in any customer's case. However, as a
general practice, couple of banks (including SBI) insist VI customers
to sign undertaking.
The current undertaking which is given by SBI to all VI customers
reads something like "all transactions done through internet banking
are binding upon me"
Technically, if you sign this undertaking and even if some transaction
goes due to technical fault, the bank may well argue that since you
have signed this undertaking, you can't dispute the validity of the
transaction. Of course, Courts are unlikely to follow this arguement.
Now the problem is that this is the policy prescribed by SBI, so even
if you approach the H.O., or local H.O., you are forced to sign such
an undertaking if you want to avail INB facility.
I recently had to take up a VI's case, who was denied INB by a branch
in Mumbai, and I wrote to Chairman, though the person got all
facilities, but again local H.O., insisted on undertaking, and
unfortunately that person could not take up this issue of undertaking
to higher level due to own's time schedule and other constraints.
Since I am already availing all facilities and I could not help the
person beyond getting all the facilities, I could not also write to
Chairman as I had no personal interest left more than getting all the
facilities for the person involved.
I did ask the local h.o. for the internal latest circular of SBI for
us, however no response came.
So my answer to your question is, that do not let the person sign any
such undertaking, and fight for this if possible. So that for future
it will be corrected.
If I remember, then a plus point is that IBA circular clearly states
that no special undertaking needs to be taken in our case. (Don't
remember the para).
The circulars of IBA and RBI are already available, and I am sure you
must be having them with you.
Other experts can also throw some light on it.
Regards

instructed
that banks should offer all the banking facilities including cheque book
facility, ATM facility and locker facility to the visually challenged and
also
assist them in withdrawal of cash. Further, in Para 14 of the above Order,
the Honorable Court has observed that visually impaired persons cannot be
denied
the facility of cheque book, locker and ATM on the possibility of risk in
operating / using the said facility, as the element of risk is involved in
case

of other customers as well.
3. Banks are therefore advised to ensure that all the banking facilities
such as cheque book facility including third party cheques, ATM facility,
Net banking
facility, locker facility, retail loans, credit cards etc. are invariably
offered to the visually challenged without any discrimination. Banks may
also
advise their branches to render all possible assistance to the visually
challenged for availing the various banking facilities.

Hi! I am using bank of india's net banking from last 1 year without any
problem. but recently, they have introduced a new software call "star
tocan". According to them, it is for secuar net banking. But I found it very
difficult from the point of accesibility. If this continues, I will be just
unable to use internet banking of this bank. This utility works in secure
desktop mode. I request our knowledgeable members to solve my quairy. First
of all I would like to know that what is mean by secure desktop mode? and
one more thing what can be done for accessibility for the net banking
facility? is dropping a mail to the bank will work?

Thanks and regards,

Re: [AI] Internet Banking Query

2010-03-12 Thread vijay chavan
Hi Prashant and All,
I have been using Bank of India's Net Banking service for the last almost 1 and
half years. As just fifteen days ago, Bank of india has introduced a new
software called StarToken. This software will work as like as we use
OutLookExpress or LotusNotes.
One has to install it on a machine which he or she uses regularly.
As The Bank of India is claiming that they have introduced a next Generation of
the NetBanking.
But the WebPage which they have designed on the StarServer, is completely
inaccessible with the ScreenReaders.
I am using Jaws to access the NetBanking from the Bank of India, I always have
to use the Jaws Cursor to activate the Links, Buttons, and CheckBoxes on the
Page.
I think, they have not provided proper KeyBoard support to the WebPage.
No TextBox or CheckBox is Accessible with the Jaws.
I have already spoke to the I T manager of the Bank of India Mr. Dileep Gaikwad
on the Phone 022-67447002. But, He took my contact No. and assured that he
will asked to look into the matter Mr. Sameer a Cheif Security Officer.
I haven't yet found any positive development in the Website.
The Software which they introduced is seams to be quite Safe and secure but
incomplete one. Because, when we use StarToken, we cannot access the windows
easily. If page doesn't load, and we try to bring the focus to that window we
cannot revert back to that secure Desktop which the StarToken creates for
Secure Banking.
Another thing is that they are making it Compulsory each and everybody to use
the StarToken.
May I request to all Accessibility Experts to do something in this regard?
Regards,
Vijay Chavan. Mobile: 9867967767.

Dear friends,

Those who are using internet banking services of banks can help me in
this data collection. Please answer 2 simple questions given below
and mail it to pran...@gmail.com
1. Which website you are using or bank’s online banking URL –
2. Screen reader accessibility rating – okay / good / very good

You can answer in few words or in detail as per your convenience.
Thanks and regards,
Prashant Naik
