Sorry for not being able to perfectly use your cryptic system.. I guess I missed the all important meeting open to the public on how to submit errors just as you need them without getting techies in a tizzy. 3) repeating 1000 times "it's impoirtant" does not make things more important than what they are No, but ignoring the reasons that I gave for why it is important doesn't mean that it's not. Unless, of course, you feel better about yourself for focusing on something that isn't truly the issue. I guess self-esteem comes cheaply nowadays. Also, I don't count 1,000 "it's important"s in there, anyhow--lose the hyperbole, and fill the void with interpersonal communication skills. 4) this is a known enhancement request (issue 27377) This is all you really needed to say. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 27377 *** - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. If you create the table of contents using Create from "Outline" the hyperlinks are correctly created. If you use a mixed table of contents then the ones created from the outline will hyperlink correctly while the ones created from the additional styles will not. Luckily I had backups. The basic issue is that changing something in the document results in graphics going crazy after changed position. For example, if I change something on page 2, graphics on page 10 might get corrupted. I have experienced various ways of corruption, for example, graphics moving on top of each other, captions disappearing or moving to completely different place, etc. When once corrupted, I was unable to recover the document, fixing some of the graphics by hand resulted in other graphics getting corrupted. I attach a sample document which illustrates what I mean. The most basic thing triggering this problem I found is as follows: 1. Open the attached document bonustehtavat.bugitesti.sxw 2. There should be 3 pages, with one eps graphics at the end of third page 3. Go to page 2 and select Insert -> Indexes and Tables -> Indexes and Tables -> OK 4. The eps image has moved from page 3 to page 4 (5. Selecting Edit -> Undo removes the index but doesnt restore the graphics position) When working with longer document, this results in chain reaction, and every time you make changes in the beginning, you need to check that all the graphics are still in proper places. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. If the entry falls on the left margin of the page, the extra space will appear at the right margin of the previous line, which causes a ragged right margin even when justification is enabled. To reproduce the problem, enter several lines of text without line or paragra[h breaks, having a unique word appearing at the beginning of any line after the first. Set the paragraph style to justified (flish right margin). Create a concordance (.sdi) file with one line: word;word;;;YES;YES where "word" is the unique word from above. Now, insert an alphabetical index into the document based on the new .sdi file. If field shadings are enabled, you will see a blue-grey rectangle at the right margin above the indexed term, and the margin at that point will not appear flush. A document displaying this problem is enclosed, along with a .sdi file. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Although this can be tweaked on to make work, this really shouldn't be considered optimal. By default, when inserting this drawing as an sxd file it takes the entire width of the page, beyond the margins. I then converted the drawing to an odg file, which now takes up ALL the page when inserted, vertical and horizontal. Starting with a single empty page, inserting a 3 inch high drawing will result in now having 3 pages with the drawing on page 2. OOo should at least be making some attempt at a reasonable guess as to how to fit it on the page. I doesn't need to be perfect, but somewhere in the ballpark should be what is happening here. At the very least it should fit within the margins of the destination document. Lastly, I have to address a usability issue. Now that you've explained to me that the window when in edit mode can be re-sized I get it. I would have NEVER gotten it without your explaining this. Maybe I'm just not too bright, but those 1x1 pixel handles didn't exactly shout, "Hey, I can resize this thing!". Plus there's the additional ruler I can't figure out how to turn off adding visual noise to the picture. With that being said, I would like to reopen this bug. However, I have found two exceptions in non-regular text: 1. a formula in a table will not follow the font size of the previous text in the table 2. The same happens for formulas in footnotes. This should be resolved as it results in odd sizing of fomrulas relative to text. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sc-issues] [Issue 48585] Cross-tabs from Quattro not properly imported
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=48585 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Jun 7 11:25:35 -0700 2005 --- This issue (48585) has been closed as a duplicate of #41688, but that issue was with OO 2.0 and this one was with 1.1.4. Also, I checked #41688 and it has no relation to importing of Cross Tabs from QuattroPro. It has lots of other import tests but specifies no problems or issues encountered, and none of the tests actually relates to Cross Tabs (from what I can tell). Are you sure this is a duplicate? Has the cross tabs issue been addressed yet? More relevant info: I used QuattroPro 12. In trying to reproduce the issue, I had to first save the test file as an Excel spreadsheet since 1.1.4 doesn't have a Quattro import/open tool. Then I opened this intermediate excel file which yielded the result I reported, that is, the cross tab gets imported as data, not a Cross-Tab or Data Pilot table. The issue may well be with the saving from Quattro to Excel as I don't own Excel and can't verify the functioning of the intermediate file. I'll attached a small sample file for testing purposes. [dba-issues] [Issue 48998] primary key: Switching AutoValue from 'Yes' to 'No' leaves 'Yes' inside Field Properties
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=48998 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Jun 7 09:41:14 -0700 2005 --- I was not aware of the issue 48480 when I posted issues 48996 and 48998 (this one). And no, I'm not writing the same bug over and over again :-) Perhaps I'm wrong, but I believed they are slightly different problems (and as you say, one problem, one issue) In short: issue 48998 is: you can switch AutoValue from "Yes" to "No"; it works, but it _seems_ that it has not worked, because the label is still "Yes". In other words, the "Yes" -> "No" direction works, BUT the interface fails to register the success. issue 48996 is: you cannot switch the AutoValue from "No" to "Yes". In other words, the "No" -> "Yes" direction DOESNT work, AND the interface fails to register the insuccess. I was only trying to be as much specific as possible... thx,Luca - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. On my machine, the text frames "Verzeichnis 017", "~019", "~021", "~023", "~025", "~029" are affected. When I export the file with 680m106 to .sxw format and load it in OOo 1.1.4, they also vanish sometimes (...this seems to depend on "some" minor changes before saving as .sxw.) Here comes the problem: OOo's Base behaviour is different if I save the table. This is what happens if I DONT save the table: 6[without saving]) right click on department --> insert rows it works, a blank, empty line appears between "firstname" and "department" This is what happens if I DO save the table: 6[saving]) save the table 7) right click on department --> insert rows this time does not work. No blank line between "firstname" and "department". The cursor is on the fourth field,i.e. the first empty field. But I found the problem after thoroughly checking the graphic export of our pdf filter. The difference is that OpenOffice up to version 1.1.4 is not using jpeg compression for graphics less than 32*32 pixels and graphics less or equal than 256 colors (the jpeg export filter will blow up the graphic to 24bit then). I will change the pdf export so that graphics with few colors will not be exported by using jpeg. Changed target to OOo 2.01 As a workaround, just use loseless compression when creating pdf files with few colors. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Text was copied from Mozilla-1.7.7 mail using mouse drag. I confirmed the source text has no special characters. just spaces 0x20 and newlines 0x0A. There is a pattern to When this occurs. 1. any series of spaces greater than one between text characters. (this is probably ok, as designed) 2. the last line before the 0A. here is the problem. Mozilla is configured to wrap lines, so a large paragraph shows as several lines. Only the last line between the last wrap (soft CRLF) and the end of paragraph 0A has EVERY space turned into a hard space. Thus making the last line a solid block, requiring editing. Interesting, if I only drag copy the last line, avoiding the 0A completely, and even the first character in the line, it is still pasted as a single block with hard spaces. If I drag copy a single space, it is either pasted as a hard space (if on the last line) or Not pasted at all (if before a soft wrap). Further this only happens from mail. Drag copying from this text box works fine. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
