Ennavalae song in Kaathalan (raag-Neelaambari & Kaethaaram) by violin maestros ganesh, kumaresh 2. Azhagae Sugama in Paarthaalae Paravasam (raag-Dwajaavanthi & Sahaanaa) again by above maetros. 3. Kannaamoochi Yenadaa in Kandu Kondaen (beautiful Naata Kurinji Raag) 4. Ennuyir thozhiyae - KangaLhaal Kaithu Sei (raag-Durga & Shuddh Saaveri) & here the speciality is with the bowing, violins being plucked with fingers can be heard nicely in two places. 5. hi gomtesh, sudarsan, swaps, arya & frnds u raised a good doubt? well i like to share that in meenaxi's potters village, only the lower to higher scale of the raag is used where it can apply to two ragas. only if one also knows how the higher to lower scale ends can one define a particular raga. in potters village the usage can apply to both raga vaasanthi and raga bhowLhi. wherein in GF the higher to lower ends, clears it is absolutely Vaasanthi. That is to be more precise, while we take, lower to higher scale (called 'aarohan' in sur set) - SA RE GA PA DHA SAA and for higher to lower scale ('avarohan') - SAA DHA PA GA RE SA. In this set in first line 'aarohan' RE sur is same to both vasanthi & bhowLhi that is RE-1 (Shuddha Rishabh in Carnatic scale) can be used for both ragas. but in second line 'avarohan' when Sur RE-1 is used
then it becomes bhowLhi. When RE-2 (Chathusruthi Rishabh) is used here, it becomes Vaasanthi. So, GF uses Re-1 from low to high scale & Re-2 from high to low scale of surs which is absolutely Vaasanthi. But in potters village if u note carefully he has not used high to low scale of set of surs at all. Only low to high scale which applies to both ragas. If he also uses high to low scale then according to which RE he uses can one define that raga. Hope u understand. Congrats to the whole RDB team. What a powerful movie. Great in every department. A landmark movie in Hindi cinema. So glad it's a superhit in India. And of course, our Boss. Kya Baat Hai Bhai My God, what mindblowing BGMs by Rahmanji. Simply incredible..the music takes on a plot of its own.a story of its own, weaving seamlessly with the narrative and direction of the film and so beautifully amplifying and the base emotions and unsaid dynamics. Rahman has truly worked hard on this BGM and I am so proud of him and happy that he is getting praised left and right for this music and that the movie is extremely popular. Hii After reading several posts abt Theeyil song frm GF abt the raga..yes..its is Carnatic Raga Vasanthi & the Hindustani equivalent is Raga Bhoopkali or Bhoopeshri. It has all shuddha swaras except Dha & it omits Madhyam & Nishad though in some cases it may add a Teevra Madhyam being from the Marwa thaat (Raga Family). So its Sa Re Ga Pa Dha(Komal) Sa. ARR's used this raga in Taj Mahal (Adi manjakkizhange), Mudhalvan (Kurukku chiruthavale) & JanaGanaMana album (Hariharan's rendition of Desh ka salam).
