Hi friends, This is the most biased article I have read recently. It says Delhi 6,VTV,Endhrian,KP was having mediocre songs. It would be great if somebody could translate this. Hi Guys, Listened to an interview with Bichu Thirumala (Malayalam, lyricist), in BIG FM today, He was telling that new age music lacks creativity, and said that every new MD's should learn from Devarajan (an old malayalam MD) and said Athippo ethu oscar winner aayaalum, allengil oscar verum pooskaar aayi pokum, meaning - Even if it is an oscar winner, they should learn it or Oscar will become Pooskaar. I am not sure when these veterans are going to learn to respect others, another incident where IR was not satisfied with the lyrics of his songs in Pazhassiraja and passed some unwanted comments. With due respect to these veterans I would say that everyone has the right to express emotions and tell their opinions, but they should respect others. Give respect and take respect. RegardsKishore

He also gave notations to the Thavil person which was awesome to watch. In the end, ARR mixed it completely and played it for the viewers which was a TREAT to watch. I am searching for the interview (SUN TV has the rights for it). In those days there was no Internet or Youtube to get the interview next day. I have recorded the same in a Audio cassette during those days. Have to search it now. This one is a real treat for all RAHMANIACS and a must have !! An instant chartbuster from the word 'Go', it has a characteristic Rahman flavor to it and sounds a unique and extremely fresh piece of music. The orchestra is kept at bare minimum and still makes a huge impact in bringing on a recollection value. Write your own music review of Delhi-6 Reminding of 'Pia Haji Ali' and 'Khwaja Mere Khwaja', 'Arziyan', as required by the genre, has tabla and harmonium taking it through its 9 minute long duration. The impact of this devotional track with a haunting sound is such that after a couple of minutes, a listener completely surrenders by loosing himself in the ambience created by it. Well, if one thought that Delhi 6 was more inclined towards rustic music then watch out for the title song that comes next. 'Delhi 6' is what 'Paathshala' and 'Khalbali Hai Khalbali' were to Rang De Basanti. This is the track that deserves to be placed at number of instances in the film's narrative and if at all a music video is created around it, rest assured the number would be hummed by every campus goer. The beats are simply groovy and don't be surprised if the pubs and lounges, at least in North India, have the number playing on in a few days from now. In fact there is a number that goes as 'Hey Kaala Bandar' and is set in a mode similar to that of Delhi 6 if one has to consider the intrinsic groovy elements that it carries. Most remarkable of the enterprise so far, 'Rehna Tu' is melody at its best with a Western base to it. A kind of number that can be instantly associated with Rahman, it has its strength in the smooth flowing narrative that makes it an ideal candidate to be played on your date with the one you love! And if the date extends for another hour or so, don't forget to play on 'Dil Gira Dafatan' which is just an ideal follow up to 'Rehna Tu' and keeps the romantic tempo on when it comes to melody. In fact there is hardly any instrument that plays in the background, hence making 'Dil Gira Dafatan' even more special! For about 50 seconds, 'Genda Phool' appears to be all rustic and rooted but soon Western arrangements come into picture hence making it a cool fusion number that continues to get on variety for the soundtrack of Delhi 6. Composer Rajat Dholakia comes into picture for this unique number which leaves one wondering that in which situation it would be used. Surprise comes in the form of classical 'Bhor Bhaye' which is based on raaga Gujri Todi followed by an aarti 'Tumre Bhavan Mein', both of which promise to add on to the narrative of Delhi 6 in the background. LYRICS Prasoon Joshi certainly likes to write something that has never been heard before. When he plays it all around to mix and match with words that could either be totally poetic or straight out of day to day conversations, songs like 'Masakali' are made. He gets devotional with 'Arziyan' and 'Aarti (Tumre Bhavan Mein)' with the classical 'Bhor Bhaye' and folk based 'Genda Phool' showing an altogether different facet of his writing. Dont get angry with the subject line. I thought of writing this only because of the comments made by some people, It is painful . Ghajini Hindi version is a real classic compared to Tamil version. Although Tamil version has the mass appeal but still it is nowhere near Hindi Version. But people say that Tamil Version had good songs and Hindi is not impressive. We can say that this is not their cup of tea, but these comments hurts. Had these songs been in any other movie it would have been called class. I had a thought for sometime that Boss should not have done Ghajini. But still our Boss Rocks No other MD can even think of a song like Behka and Kaise Mujhe. When someone give bad comments I ask them to listen to Kaise Mujhe song..

I wanted to share this experience with you. Some people from Pune Joined my company in Trivandrum. We had a one day tour and we played a lot of songs in our bus. Boys songs was also played. Obvious!! my Pune friends were blown away by the songs of Boys. They started enquiring about the Movie and the songs. They even repeatedly played it now they are addicted to this song. It sounds refreshing even after 5 years (all the songs from our boss are always refreshing). I seriously think that Boys should have been released in Hindi. She was basically a Gujarati Tamil. 2. Their family were in Chennai, and their ancestors had been in Chennai for the past 200 years. She learnt hindustani. She knew Spanish, but only for singing purpose. ARR wanted her to come with some Spanish jibbery for Oru Koodai Sunlight song from Shivaji . She wrote the lyrics in Spanish. After two days, she came to know that it was a completel different song altogether. The song was incidentall sung by her in that movie. 3. Her mother was not a performing sitarist, bust used to play the sitar at home. Father used to play the Dol during his school days. She had her own Band called ' Zahera ( meaning Upcoming or Budding ) . She didn;t know dance, but just used to take care of the rhthym. In her stay in the US, she was staying with Egyptian Roommate, Dutch people, who were famous for Belly Dancing. She just picked it up from them. She knows many languages, including Arabic. She says that she is an open person, and has to go a long way before she can be claimed a celebrity. 4. After singing Style Song, she was part of the Chorus of One Love ( Taj ) Album of ARR . She also wrote the lyrics of ' Ek Lo Ek Muft song with Gulzar for Guru. In that song, ARR wanted her to sing imagining herself to be drunk. The bit she sang was ( Joyya Joyya... ) , which was recorded in the 3rd Take. She didn't learn lryics writing. She started writing lyrics based on the situation. If she was pushed to write in English, she told she would do that too. 5. She has been doing Creative Designing; Jewellery Designing, Interiors, Styling. i.e. Dressing up people for a show. She runs 3 stores in Hyderabad. Her family is famous for charity. She donates 25% of her income to the Cancer Institute, which was started by her great grandfather Shri. Nanalal Bhatt. Her band troupe 's first show was for aiding the Cancer Isntitute. She performs live along with her co- band player, whose name is Shiva. 6. Jillenu Oru Kadhal :- Before the song came out, She was just singing the track. They were two people. There was another girl called Sonia, who was supposed to sing with her, but Sonia went off to Canada. Tani was very sick, when ARR called her up, but he told that he would wait for her to become OK, and insisted her to sing the song for him. He told that he wanted 5 voices in that song, and also the feel lile L.R. easwari, Asha Bhonsle in that song. Tanvi brought different format styles of singing in that song :- Low Octaves; High Octaves; Cartoon days; Sound of a Kitten . She was very excited to see her song in the film. She claims that all her songs with ARR has been a different feel. ARR uses her voice very nicely, and he proves her potential . She even thanked him for utilising her potential, which even she didn;t know well. ARR SONGS WHICH SHE LIKED THE MOST 1. Chandralekha Song from Thiruda Thiruda - Anupama has sung that song very well. She says that she hasn't heard that much of force anywhere 2. Tere Bina - Guru . ARR has sung very well. Chinmayee has also sung very beautifully. 3. Lukka Chuppi - Rang De Basanti - That song makes her cry everytime, she hears it. The lyrics have been written so well resembling what a mother feels and talks to her son. She has also sung the Introductory Song for NEW , along with Sunitha Sarathy. Hi shiyaz I dont say that he has no lifts. He has more lifts than what you have mentioned . But most of them are music loops available in some softwares also some songs have similarities. I havent seen any ditto so long from ARR. Hi guys, It has been more than a decade after the release of Thiruda Thiruda(1993). But still the songs, sounds too fresh and noone till date in indian film industry has done anything like that. But in the second and third time i saw that song deleted from the film and also the scene with the poor villager was edited. Again after a few days, singer Srinivas called and said the same thing - that he has sung for ARR finally and song is kuchi Kuchi Rakkamma. Again after a few days, a new singer Chandrasekhar called and said that he has sung for ARR, and SHrath asked him back is it Kuchi Kuchi Rakkamma?!!. And finally when the song came out, it was in Hariharan's voice. SHarath told this story to higlight ARR's quest for perfection. Usha Uthup talked about her experience recording for Daud. Sukhwinder Singh was the lyricist and she said she had a wonderful time recording with ARR and Sukhwinder.
