[arr] THE RAHMAN TODAY

Hi friends,

The Rahman today is more dependent on his brand name than on the strength of 
his music
or his tunes may be with the exception of a  VTV or a RAVAN cos when i was 
listening to
Endiran ( it was really a good album) but the fact was the music arrangement 
was not anything we could associate with Rahman. I was listening to Endiran as 
it was composed 
by Rahman only and if it had been by any other composer the critics would hav 
shred
it to pieces.

I understand that Rahman is busy with his international assignments and he his 
taking up
tamil projects as they are forced on him. 

Dear sir don't take up any tamil projects and if you do,  we need nothing short 
of a RAHMAN  ALBUM meeting all the criteria associated with you.I feel this is 
something you could do to your dear old TAMIL FANS.

The main point i would like to make is that Rahman's music should be enjoyed by 
EVERYONE and not just people would understand the finer aspects of Rahman's 
music
which is what is  happening right now as more and more people get alienated 
from our Oscar winner. Remember even Buddha's teaching could not have got the 
due acceptance
if it had been so complex. 

I feel someone could take up this matter with boss, not as a compliant but as a 
general
media feedback.

[arr] ----Where is the REAL RAHMAN----

Dear guys, 

Last week i was browsing in an internet cafe and as curiously enough they were 
not playing the usual YSR/HJ songs and were playing Boys, e20 u18 songs. 

What superb songs and especially the song ASATHURA. long live boss

The owner of the cafe and one of his friends were remarking casually that ARR 
doesn't compose songs like this anymore.

How sad Boss has lost his place among the local junta who were his PILLARS OF 
STRENGTH during his beginning.

I WAS LEFT WONDERING IF BOSS COULD SPARE TIME FOR A COLOSSAL WASTE LIKE YUVRAJ 
or a BIG BUDGET BONANZA LIKE BLUE where i still feel BOSS WAS NOT REQUIRED*, 
WHY COULD HE NOT SPARE SOME TIME FOR SOME YOUTHFUL FILMS where HIS MUSIC SPEAKS 
MORE THAN THE BUDGET OF THE FILM.

GUYS THE GROUND REALITY IS THE NOWADAYS EXCEPT THIS GROUP INCLUDING ME DON'T GO 
OUT AND BUY AN ARR ALBUM ON THE STRENGTH OF HIS MUSIC .

I AM NOT OFFENDING BOSS OR ANYBODY HERE. I SEE THE REALITY AND MY HEART PAINS.

I WOULD LIKE BOSS TO SPARE SOME TIME FOR YOUTHFUL FILMS LIKE BOYS/E20U18/ATM by 
giving back something to the LOCAL JUNTA like me who feel starved for some 
RAHMANIQ music

Guys given a choice i would listen ATM to GHAJINI or E20 to JTJY. i am not 
referring to any language here i just go by the strength/quality of RAHMANS 
music.
i find the essence of Rahman more in these albums than in their big budget 
counterparts.

Guys dont bring in the Hollywood factor again . I totally agree with Boss going 
global. But i would like Boss to restrict his appearances in useless Bollywood 
projects as i dont remember any Hindi film going by the Strength of Boss's 
music in the recent past except D6 or Ay Hyrathe in Guru.

hi guys,

Rahman should stop doing any more Hindi movies and revert back doing more 
MEANINGFUL tamil movies and he can obviously satisfy his musical hunger by 
doing Hollywood projects.

What bollywood produces is . Take this left,right and centre. If you say 
DILLI 6 is the zenith of Hindi movies guys kindly excuse me, we have FAR FAR 
FAR Better projects for our boss in Tamil. Here i am refering to the movie and 
not the music.

some english film and i dont like my boss being part of such a group.

original way of composing. Consider ATM which is one of his best.By best i mean 
VINTAGE RAHMAN.

Jai Ho at 1:56th second, suddenly the high energy of the song drops to the 
lyrics of chorus.
Rehna Tu ( Delhi 6 ) from 1:31st second the lovely emotion which makes us

I accept that our Boss ARR delivers an exceptional quality of music.
What I meant to say is he is best the ENGINEER for acoustics, I meant the 
literal meaning of ENGINEER.
Any one should accept that ARR concentrates more on acoustics,even he himself 
accepted.
That's the part where I like him the most and best in the current industry.
To just tell an example, for the film Roja, the famous song which starts with 
flute ( in telugu - " naa cheli rojave,naa lo vunnave " ), ARR asked H Sridhar 
to capture the sound of floating air over the Flute rather than core sound of 
Flute.
That's how ARR advises his team and concentrates more on acoustics.
I accept his productivity is exceptional, but the only thing is he drops the 
emotion of a song's tune in the middle.

[arr] now running reviews GURU..must watch

By Deep Ganatra GURU has many things to make you excited. 
1. It is directed by the Guru of direction, Mani Ratnam. 
2. Music is by the Guru of music industry, A R Rahman. 
3. It is rumored to be based on the life of the business Guru, Dhirubhai 
Ambani. 

The movie is about life of Gurukant Desai (Abhishek Bachchan), a dreamer, who 
lives in a small village and believes in dreaming high. The movie shows how 
GURU becomes India's top businessman from a small time worker in Turkey. You 
will find many similarities between the character GURU and Dhirubhai Ambani, be 
it paralysis attack or being constantly in the news with various allegations. 

The movie is shown in 3 phases, Phase 1, the young Guru who leaves India for 
Turkey to earn more. Phase 2, the young matured Guru, who leaves his job in 
Turkey and comes back to India to start his own business. And Phase 3, a middle 
aged businessman, who is top businessman in India and does not believe in 
looking back.

>From the beginning itself the movie does not let you move for a single minute,

The cinematography is really impressive; the locals of the village are shot 
very beautifully. The waterfalls, the grass fields just make you feel like

Let me sum up the movie.

Story: Inspiring. It tells the story of a village boy who dares to dream and 
how he realizes his dream, the director has handled the subject brilliantly. 

Music: When it is A R Rahman, it has to be top class. I personally liked all of 
the songs. Especially Tere Bina is very impressive.

Acting: Abhishek Bachchan deserves an award - Excellent acting. Aishwarya Rai 
was also very good. The acting was just too natural. I had a fear that they 
might not fit well in Gujarati characters but I am really happy that they 
proved me wrong. Other characters too did their job well. It was good to see 
Mithun Chakraborty in a decent role after a long time. R Madhavan looked a lot 
slimmer than his earlier avatar. Vidya Balan had a very short role but she was 
good at it.

So, overall I would give this movie 4 stars out of 5. It is a must watch.

  i agree TOTALLY with Haja Nawaz.
   
   
  HJ is stealing the limelight with his mediocre tunes.
  Even me as a neutral listener would go in for HJ and say that it is 
more hummable than arr's. i say this with a heavy heart.
   
  Reason...
   
  hj synchronisation is repetitive.He has to prove a point to the audience that 
he is innovative though he really fails on more than one occassion.
   
  Even ARR wanted to prove a point in his beginning that he is the king by 
giving pin point precision in orchestration.oh wat a lovely song "Romeo attam 
potta" was.Or for that matter any song before he entered the useless hindi film 
industry.
   
  I personally feel that ARR thinks that he should use all his precision and 
wonderful lovely innovations only in the hindi and hollywood productions.
  now there is no distinction to be reached in tamil as he feels that he has 
done his bit.
   
  But in the process he has lost many fans who were simply listening to his 
songs only for its innovative musical arrangements and fantastic orchestration  
 which arr is giving very lesss attention to in tamil
   
  this is where hj  scores.
   
  he is simply toeing the line that arr took to reach stardom..but not in 
other innovative areas of a song.he can never compose song like "innisai" or

to sink in true 100% true but how do u explain a song like "thazhuvude 
nazhuvude" or an idiotic "maja maja" which in my view is "the worst arr song

nothing but dent arr's credibility...

Guys I hav been saying this all along.ARR not jus deserves a place in the top 20's but he is the NO1 composer the world has ever seen.
 
Consider the other composers in the list.They were fantastic no doubt but in their own sphere be it musicals or conducting orchestras at Broadway.So to put it in a nutshell they come under the "English Musical Sphere" for instance.
 
Also consider the fellow who ranked ARR.He has seen jus one face of ARR his ie his "PENCHANT FOR COMPOSING MUSICALS".
 
Now consider these facts:
1. ARR is the only fellow in the list "WHO HAS BRIDGED THE LANGUAGE BARRIER" as he says music has no language.
 
2. He has made Indians listen 2 Broadway musicals and made the English Audience take note of the power and substance of INDIAN MUSIC combined with technological advancements.I don't feel this has happened the otherway round with the other composers in the list.
 
When noted actor Kamal Hasan was asked , " If u were born in America u would hav won 2 , 3 Oscars by now, he said that the real skill lies in taking the opponent on, in his own battleground and that one could prove oneself from where they are and need not complain about own place.
 
In my opinion its ARR who has done it hands down.He has faced different situations and has excelled in each one of them.
 
So in the revised list ARR is the No.1 composer considering all his feats.

Its 100% A.R.Rahman for SHIVAJI,so nobody needs to worry about it.Remember one thing , these kind of suspense phenomenon happen only with ARR as other MD's would have given more than 100 interviews if they had been selected for SHIVAJI.
 
It is only ARR who takes everything easily as he has worked with both Shankar and Rajini before and this not a big achievement for him to be selected for SHIVAJI.Another thing is shankar can find noone except ARR to match his wavelength.HJ did that to an extent but won't suit SHIVAJI as he can compose only for soft films.
 
Even I read in Ananda Vikatan that Vidyasagar is the MD for Shivaji but i just brushed it aside.These things are OUT OF THE QUESTION as this not just a Rajini film but a SHANKAR film n Shankar doesnt comprise on QUALITY n he is not a person to go in for cheap songs for his films publicity alone.
 
So the only logical conclusion is ARR 4 SHIVAJI and this is IT...

And if you saw the influence of the Hollywood film `Big,' in `New', in `Ah ... Aah ... ' you notice traces of the Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, Whoopi Goldberg hit, `Ghost.' 
After `New' Suryah probably feels double entendres are his film's USP. That's why in many sequences you have dialogue obviously censored but clearly mouthed. Also sublime love slips into a mere physical plane very easily. 
The screenplay is smooth but the story falls into a routine quagmire in the climax, thus making `Ah ... Aah ... ' sag towards the end. 
 
How it goes 

 
Shiva (Suryah) and Madhu (Nila) represent a permissive mindset, as they are lovers living together. Things come to a pass when the possessive Shiva grows suspicious of his girlfriend and they decide to go their own ways. Suryah the filmmaker, has proved himself even earlier. But the actor has a long way to go. Looking painfully thin, Suryah is also too loud-throated for a young, broadminded man. Strangely his voice that booms into your ear, and his intonation, remind you of comedian Paandu! In fact certain sequences, such as his showdown with Nila, offer much scope, but the actor fails to make use of them because of wrong modulation. 
However, as a dancer he shows incredible agility. Nila, the debutant, is Suryah's offering of a Simran-like face. Santhanam is slowly but certainly making his presence felt as a noteworthy name in the comedy line-up. But the actor had better watch his weight. 
You may never come across a psychiatrist like her, but for Urvasi even one scene suffices to make you laugh. How is it the real Shiva suddenly understands that the look-alike whom he has been trying to chase out all these days is not the real Madhu? 
Also Suryah could have avoided the lengthy sermon in the end. 
It's not for nothing that Vaali remains the uncrowned king of words. The lyric of the title number in particular is out of the world in content and thought. Hats off to the septuagenarian song-writer! `Anbae Aaruyirae ... ' zestfully sung by A. R. Rahman, the melodious `Mayiliragaai' and the charanam of the `Thala Thala ... ' song are a treat from Rahman. 
From production to direction, story to screenplay and dialogue to acting, `Ah ... Aah ... ' is a Suryah show through and through. When the onus is immense, certain departments tend to suffer. Hi,
 
I was jus working and listening 2 the music of Bose(maybe its my 200th time),I was completely overwhelmed by the depth of the music.It was as if sitting in the theatre and seeing the movie itself..!!
 
I unable 2 convey my feelings about this album.A masterpiece in the true sense of the word.I can't imagine the album without the bgm's.
 
If the bgm's were not included whether we would hav got an opportunity 2 listen 2 such fantastic,marvellous,superb,timeless,..(as for as my vocabulary permits). musical pieces again in our life time with such sound quality.I doubt it guys though am sure some of u might upload some of these thankfully.20 years from now i can't imagine listening 2 any album other than Rahman's n especially BOSE.
 
Guys listen to them againOrchestral versions of Desh Ki Mitti,EklaChalo Re just melts my heartnot 2 mention Emili theme
I even recommend some of these for relaxation n 2 rejuvenate urself.
 
So guys i jus wanted 2 convey my feelings abt this masterpiece n so this post.Expecting ur views.

Remember 1 thing none of the composers, be it MOZART or RD r SD
composed music beyond their territory or for that matter any composer in the world.Can u name any composer in the world who has done such a feat.Only ARR has.
What ever u hav said is true 2 an extent n the only reason why we support ARR is that he is "THE MOST GENUINE" composer the world has ever seen.
One can make it big in the international scenario only if ur novel in ur approach and ARR has done it hands down not once but time and again.This again proves the fact the Arr doesn't COPY.
 
Last but not the least NOBODY in this world is 100% perfect except GOD and ARR submits all his feats at the ALMYGHTY's feet.This facet of ARR is enough 2 wash any blemish that u think he has.
 
So in my opinion ( though some may disagree) in music there is GOD then there is ARR.

I never mentioned it as worst but songs with least ARR touch.U r exactly rite that these r situational songs but ARR has this uncanny ability 2 lift even the so called situational songs(Eg: Varugirai frum A Aah a clever conversational song which in my opinion only boss culd hav composed with such appeal).
The mentioned songs just lack the master's touch n nothing else.since I posted it under the worst songs title it has misled u'll.

I am really surprised that u have tagged these as WORST..Maybe in ur opinion these were bad but never has ARR composed a WORST song in his life unlike other MDs.He composes quickly or slowly no worst songs emerge though some "below ARR std." songs do appear.Banno Rani is a nice rhythmic song of the 1940's.

We heard Himesh Reshammiya lend his voice in his top-selling album, Aashiq Banaya Aapne. And we've heard Pritam re-energize our souls with the flashy soundtrack of Chocolate. Yeah, we got a lot to be proud of. What if I told you that TWO songs from EACH of those three albums were stolen? Not so proud anymore eh? It's true. Shantanu Moitra, a man who has seemed to captivate music lovers this year with Parineeta has stolen two of the seven tracks. Kaisi Paheli Zindagani was lifted straight from Louis Armstrong's 1951 track "A Kiss To Build A Dream On." And a line from Soona Mann Ka Aangan was plagiarized straight from Tagore's "Phoole
 Phoole." Himesh Reshammiya's hit soundtrack Aashiq Banaya Aapne has two lifts in it also: 1) Dillagi, which is taken straight from Pakistani pop singer Ali Zafar's "Rangeen," from his 2003 album "Huqa Pani." 2) Marjaawan is a blatant lift from Fakhir's "Marjaawan" from his 2002 album "Aatish." Oh yeah, Gela Gela (Aitraaz) was copied note for note from R. Kelly's Thoia Thoing from his 2003 album "Chocolate Factory." What's sad is the fact that our composers go on and on about cleansing our industry of plagiarism. Yet, they seem to have no problem taking tunes from right across the border! And as you will come to find out, Reshammiya isn't the only culprit in this hideous case. Pritam is known as the King of Dhoom. Well, he stole a track in there also, Shikdum. Personally my favorite piece, I was disgusted when I found out that he took it directly from from Turkish singer Tarkan's "Sikidum." And when asked
 about the word Shikdum, Sameer and Pritam never once stated the original piece. Where's the justice? In the just recently released Chocolate, yet another hot selling album, Pritam steals Zahreeli Raatein and Bheega Bheega. The former lifted from Pakistani pop band Jal's "Aadat." The latter is lifted word for word from Abrar Ul Haq's "December." As is the case throughout Filmi Music's infamous history, most of the tracks that stand out as classics in the mind's of music lovers are the ones that are plagiarized. You start to question the talent and competence of some of these composers…respect is soon lost. To add insult to injury, the originals (especially the Pakistani originals) are far better than there uncredited Hindi versions.Only a fraction of "inspired" tracks are legitimate ones. Recently, Dharma productions paid a hefty sum for the rights to recompose Pretty Woman in 2003's Kal Ho Naa Ho. If others do
 have the common sense to credit the originals, they'll simply put a name beneath the song. What's in a name? Proper acknowledgment and citations include the name of the original composer, the title of the track, the year it was composed, and to what album it belonged. A name. Ha!Just recently, there was a popular soundtrack that released with all sorts of speculation and controversy. Zeher was the name of the film. Apparently none of the songs belonged to the composers of the album (mainly Anu Malik, who is one of the kings of plagiarism). I guess that's why there's no surprise as to why the score was a success. Anyways, the original score was credited to Roop Kumar Rathod. Is that so? It turns out that two of the popular tracks, Agar Tum Mil Jao and Woh Lamhe belonged to, guess who….Pakistan. I think it was just a way for the Bhatts and Anu

I dunno in what world ur man.Does ARR still use the same old instruments he used 2 some time back.In the same way the singers ur referring 2 r excellent no doubt but lack the same zing with which the present grp of singers deliver the songs.And also depending on the kind of song he still utilises the services of SPB(as in New,A Aah),Chitra(A Aah) n others.So there is no way u hav a valid point 2 make.

Is it true that the jury members take note of both the music n film at a single stretch.I don't think so cos in the film Kannathil Muthammital the songs were not used extensively but it still got the NA.

This is a healthy discussion as no one would even consider hearing the soundtrack of a flopped film.And here we have a musical genius whose last 7 to 8 films have flopped but the music still haunts people all over.
This in itself is a marvellous feat worth mentioning in the Record Books.
 
Can any MD be mentioned in this category.
I want more discussions on this topic.
Also the BGM of En Swasa Katre was simply fantastic as mentioned.Another mind blowing BGM i would like 2 mention here is that of Iruvar.The musical piece that comes in the BG when Ash n Mohanlal converse is simply out of the planet and the BG when Mohanlal n Prakashraj meet is superb.These were composed by ARR when he was just 2 or 3 films old.
 
I wonder if any one has these BGM.They r still ringing in my ears.
This is what is called GENIUS.

But somehow, our film industry rates a MD by the number of hits movies that he has worked than the number of wonderful compositions that he has done.
 
Its high time we have a separate Music Industry, like they have in the west and delink Film Music from good compositions.
 
The Bose Theme, all songs of Meenaxi, Aham Brahmasmi from Kisna, all songs of Yuva (Ayidha Ezhuthu), Udhaya...Udhaya... from Udhaya, are all masterpieces.
 
Its a sad fact that a MD (whether ARR or anyone) is recognised only if the movie clicks at the box office.
 
All the songs which ARR had composed for a film called En Swasa Kaatree were absolute delights. A close listening to the film's RR (background score) would be a real treat for our ears. But sadly the film flopped and thatz it thumbs down for all the pains ARR had taken !

Remember 1 thing a good music fan is surely bound 2 be an ARR fan.Jus becos of the fact that arr is not high profile very down 2 earth doesn't mean that IR or others r better than him.
 
Has IR composed in any other language other than tamil n has been successful? The ans is a big NO.Itz no big deal to be in ur own place n churn out songz n be happy when others call u a genius jus becos u have composed a symphony n jus bcos u hav given some classics.U need a balance in whatever u do.If u call IR a genius jus becos he has composed a so called symphony then take ARR for whom it has become a routine 2 compose for broadway musicals n other projects like Chinese films n
what not.ARR always looks for new avenues bcos he knows that churning out tamil or hindi blockbusters is not even 2% of what he possessess.
 
For instance we learn maths at school n college levels.A school teacher teaches us Maths.He is very good at teaching n everybody is amazed by his teaching abilities.One of his students finishes college n takes up teaching  in a more easy n understanding manner to the surprise of his students whose standard gradually increases n everybody starts recognising their value.
The new teacher gets offers from all over the world 2 to teach n he accepts them n amazes the with his new techniques by breaking old conventions.
In spite of a barrage of offers the new teacher hasn't shifted base n continues 2 teach in his place n just goes for guest lectures abroad.
 
So whom do u think is more potent the teacher (IR) or the student(ARR) who has dramatically changed the way the world views Tamil music or Indian music at large.I just gave this wierd example bcos u need view music with another perspective rather than itz glitz or in terms of hits n flops.
 
And for that matter ARR hasn't given 1 nasty stuff in any of his films unlike IR who yields 2 his diectors pressure cos he has become unsure of his future projects.A classic eg. may be Azhagi where there is a 3rd rate nasty song amidst good ones which could have been so easily avoided demeaning his strature of a so called genius.This is not so with ARR cos he sets his own terms while composing n doesnt yield 2 to the directors whims n fancies.In short only a responsible filmmaker will approach ARR.There may be abberations like Star,Parasuram but they only due to ARR's time constraints n busy schedules.
I dont think IR or any other MD has that problem n should be churnig out classics all the time.If u cannot remain consistent while composing in 1 language dont in ur wildest dreams compare ARR with the rest of the band.Comparisons must arise only when they hav achieved atleast a portion of what arr has done.
ARR is a Padmashree n doesnt display it anywhere.IR is still 2 get one.He has received more than 20 filmfare awards which only 1 can dream of.

Britney spears is quite popular today, definitely much more popularthan Mozart ever was, but there is simply no comparison between thetwo.  Britney is probably a multi millionaire, but Mozart was buriedin an unmarked grave 'cause he didn't have a cent when he died.  Howmuch of an effort has been taken to classify other MDs' songs into thegenres
 you've mentioned below?  Doing this may be a big eye opener. U can never use the word competition with arr.All other MDs are frogs hopping in their own well.But Arr is one who goes places establishes his class in each and every arena he has entered (eg. hindi,english,tamil,chinese..).
 
Can u tell me one MD who has composed exceptionally well, irrespective of the kind of film or has any MD been entrusted with subjects as varying as arr has faced, be it hiphop(Rangeela,Boys),classical(Sangamam,Lagaan),
historical(LoBS,Bose,Iruvar),Musical( Lord of the rings,Bombay dreams,Warriors of heaven and earth),Mass(Padayapa,Tenali,Muthu...)
Since he is busy with lots of projects at the same time he is unable to concentrate so much as he used to during his post Roja days.I can name some films to this effect like May madham,Mr.Romeo,Kadalan,Gentleman,
Thiruda thiruda to name a few.
 
Consider the other MDs whom u think are the ''SO CALLED" competitors.
 
Harris Jayaraj:
He gets the same kind of films and he does his routine job of regurgitating Arr type musical arrangements(like in Alaipayuthe,May Madham) as he has understood very well that only that will keep him in the reckoning.
Exception: May be Anniyan or to an extent Kakha Kakha
 
YSR:
 He is 90% ARR n 10% IR.
 the same old story same themes same kind of music with ARR kind of orchestration all through.
Exception: Kadhal Kondein reapeated same trend in 7g
 
Vidyasagar:
He is good in his own way but no way can near ARR.
 
Bharadwaj:
Takes hit hindi songs and recomposes in Tamil.No way 
 
In hindi though Ismail Darbar and Sandeep Chowta compose well sometimes r good only in bits and pieces and are too far away in terms of competition.But I feel Shankar Ehsan Loy has in them to make it big real time, though they themselves have admitted that they draw inspiration fron our musical genius.Have not faced different kind of films though.

the reason u liked those songs(roja jeans ) was that,there were no imitations present at that time.Only original stuff from arr .
But now imitations have started flooding the market and also arr got busy with his other commitments ,so vintage arr was lost but not lost forever ,he is back now.
A Aaa is just the eye of the storm and the tornado is yet to arrive ,as and when he gets relieved of his other commitments.When he fully concentrates in tamil alone no one can come near him.

Arr at his best.Aa Aah song is a techno marvel song and the mesmerising factor in that song is boss' voice.
 
As i said before Mayilragai song is a song from planet 9.
 
What i understand now is that when you are composing original stuff,it takes time unlike others (Eg:u no hj,yu,.)
 
Hj directly takes arr loops and composes and takes credit.I have a list where the musical pieces are directly lifted from boss' songs.
 
Ysr ,he directly takes boss' tunes and then says i fav md' are Rd burman,Sd burman.

I will tell you one thing,the song HAI DIRA HAI,sung by sadhna sargam will become a landmark song.I was instantly tuned to it the moment i heard it(wonderful string arrangement).

[arr] Mangal Pandey -my view

On first hearing,I wasn't impressed but as all of you said rightly ,repeated listening will tune you up.
 
I was completely floored by the classic Me Vaare number and my favourite is Rassiya.
The opening track Mangal Mangal is a rustic typical song set in the 1857 ambiance.
 
The Holi song started off nicely but along the way lost the master's touch.I was disappointed by the way the song shaped up cos boss could have taken it to heavenly levels.
 
Al Maddath Maula is a soulful number and deserves full marks.
 
Takey Takey was a hummable no. but with Sukhwinder at the helm boss could have converted the song into an anthem among youngsters.Here again i felt the masters touch missing.
 
Some glaring facts:
 
In my opinion everything about this album was fantastic but i noticed that the arrangement of music was not upto arr's standards.The music didn't have the boss stamp.
For eg in Main vari song the music was ordinary with the exception of the strings which wonderfully held the song on tenterhooks(arr touch).Boss has the habit of introducing beautiful musical pieces between the songs but that was missing in this one.
 
Takia song is a wonderful no. but again the music doesn't elevate the song and boss opts for a more simplistic approach.This particular no. is a gem let down by boss.
 
Above all i wish to say that this is a fabulous album considering Hollywood stds but a fractional letdown for arr fans.
Regarding the criticism by a member i wish to add the arr fans don't go by hits or flops but by the quality of music.ARR has gone beyond hits and flops,Also give consideration to the kind of film he is composing.
I can guarantee you that for a given situation no one can compose better than boss and this a universal truth.

hi,
as for as i know KK was introduced by our boss in shekar kapoor's film TA RA RUM PUM.In an interview to a magazine some time back he has said that ta ra rum pum was his 1st film
and he had sung some lovely songs in that film,but as luck would have it the film got shelved.Next he sung for our boss in saathiya.
 
awaiting more info.
