What's wrong with this configuration
Hi, Our environment consists of 2 ARServers with loadbalancer and 2 MidTiers with a separate loadbalancer. AR Server Setting for MT1 are: one entry for ARS1 and one for ARS_LoadBalancer, MT2 the same respectively. The settings for Preference Server, Data VisualizationModule Server, HomePage Server, Authentication Server are set to ARS1 The problem is if we go to the home page via MT_Loadbalancer all the application links are doubled. One link is for ARS1 and the second for ARS_LoadBalancer. If I remove the ARS_LoadBalancer entry from MT1 the page displays fine, but instead of this we got problem with displaying flashboards when entering via loadbalancer. Static mappings of IP addresses for host names are as follows: host file for ARS1: IP_of_MT1 MT1 IP_of_ARS1 ARS_LoadBalancer host file for MT1: IP_of_ARS1 ARS_LoadBalancer Please help me figure out what the correct configuration should be to get rid of the annoying behaviour. regards, Marek ___ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org Platinum Sponsor: RMI Solutions ARSlist: Where the Answers Are
Re: AW: Error Consuming HP SM7.10 Webservice from out of BMC Remedy. (solved)
Thank you Conny and Rakshit. Makes sense and works sweat now. Issue here was/is that we have a procy pac which is like 10 pages long, and the proxy I used before seemed to actually have not been the right one (although it worked, when directly entering this one at the browser config). With that hint I now looked into the procx pac again and spotted another proxy and this one works. Thanks again! Re: Workflow objects not displaying in window - SOLVED
Thanks, Conny and Fred, I've never used the Window-Cascade feature and forgot it was there. That solves the problem very nicely, at least in the short run. I am looking at the ar.ini file but don't see anything called Admin-WinPositions. Maybe that's what is causing the problem. The problem comes and goes but at least I know what to do when it happens. Thanks again, Dwayne - Date: Wed 18 Feb 13:39:31 EST 2009 From: Conny Martin conny.mar...@t-systems.com Dwayne, this is a common problem. This is the same problem that some people have had with the Object List in the user tool. There are 2 solutions. 1. Edit your ar.ini (the section is called [Admin-WinPositions] ) to fix the position. 2. Edit your ar.ini and remove that section completely. The Admin tool will re-create it. If you use a preference server change the Edit your ar.ini above to be Edit your AR System Administrator Preference record Fred -Original Message- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:arsl...@arslist.org] On Behalf Of Dwayne Martin Sent: Wednesday, February 18, 2009 10:26 AM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Workflow objects not displaying in window Dear List, I’ve been using the 7.1 p3 version of the client Admin tool for probably a year, but something strange has suddenly started happening. I try to display an Active Link or Filter, and it won’t appear in the window. The Window menu lists it, but when I select it nothing happens. It appears to be displaying outside the window boundary. If I maximize (resize to fit window) any object that IS displaying, then all objects are maximized, including the ones that were off-screen, and I can work with them. But I can only see one at a time, which is unhandy. Two factors that may be related: 1. I have a dual monitor, but I’ve had it for years. 2. I am logged into my PC as “User” rather than “Administrator.” That just happened two weeks ago so it could have something to do with the problem. Any suggestions? I try to display an Active Link or Filter, and it won't appear in the window. I have a dual monitor, but I've had it for years. 2. I am logged into my PC as User rather than Administrator. That just happened two weeks ago so it could have something to do with the problem. Any suggestions? (I know we need to upgrade to 7.5, but that doesn't fit into our schedule just now.) Hi Listers, I'm still on ARS 6.3. I need to make an AL that checks if a value of a char fields is made of max. 8 digits. Then I need to check if the value in the char field begins with E or I, the second character is alphanumeric and the third character is a . The lenght of the value doesn't matter in this case. I am planning a similar thing here. I think it might be best to run the DB remotely. That way it is not taking up resources from your Remedy server. As long as it is located at the same physical site as your Remedy server, you should be fine. We are going to be using a VM environment with 2 x 3 GHz processors and 8 GB RAM and about 50 GB disk. We could use more memory, but we are not really going to be testing performance here. We want to emulate our current dev environment and see what happens/breaks if we upgrade to ARS 7.5 and 7.5 Attrium Core while keeping our 7.03 ITSM apps. Our environment should be ready to start the Remedy install on Monday. I can't comment on the DB server, sorry. I just asked my DBA to use the same configuration as our Dev environment. Question: Service Request Management Approvals
So I have been asked to create an approval process for SRM that includes both a management chain and a rules/mappings-based approval. For example, the management chain process fires and goes for two levels. If those approvals are obtained I then need to check the SRS:RequestApproversLookup for any individual or group approval rules/mappings. Originally I figured I could change the approval process config and have each process run at a different status. Turns out the SRM workflow is hard-coded to begin at Waiting Approval instead of what is actually configured in the App Proc Cfg form. So I'd really like to make workflow modification a last resort here. On the other hand, I can't exactly combine the two processes since one is parent-child and the other is level-based. Or can I? Any suggestions rendered would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! Re: Adding a new field to the RQC:ServiceRequestWizard and having it show up in the Incidnet or Change forms.
Howard, If I recall correctly the RQC:ServiceRequestWizard pushes fields to SRM:Request on create which in turn pushes fields to HPD:IncidentInterface_Create (or CHG:ChangeInterface_Create) which then generates the Incident (or Change). Are you seeing the fields get to SRM:Request and/or the Interface_Create forms? Or does the data escape right off the bat? Cheers! I think I have hit every filter or link to move the data to the staging forms, but still no luck. Also I have worked with the Overview console and CAI, but this has me going nuts (which is not a far drive). Any ideas or pointers would be great. Re: Adding a new field to the RQC:ServiceRequestWizard and having it show up in the Incidnet or Change forms.
Eli, Its not getting to the SRM:Request and I changed what I thought was the links (or filters, I just got off my flight home) to push the data from one to the other. This is very strange. hbr On Thu, Feb 19, 2009 at 5:27 PM, Eli Schilling eli.schill...@thecreek.comwrote: ** Howard, If I recall correctly the RQC:ServiceRequestWizard pushes fields to SRM:Request on create which in turn pushes fields to HPD:IncidentInterface_Create (or CHG:ChangeInterface_Create) which then generates the Incident (or Change).
