NT2003 SRV Edition / DB. MS SQL SRV 2005 It states in the performance and optimisation manual, only one node in a server group should be used as the server for admin changes (i.e forms, workflow etc..) but both should be accessed when making other changes (i.e adding threads to a particular queue). I added two threads to the list queue through the admin tool to node1 and node2 in a server group. I did a restart and got the following errors on both. 390603 : Entry does not exist in database. (ARERR 302) 390603 : The values for this entry violate a unique index that has been defined for this form. : NTE:SYS-Group NT Control entry:NTG00156348 I enabled the SQL/Filter/API logs and noticed few errors relating to escalation SYS:NPC:IM1-TriggerGroupNTG (attached to form NTE:SYS-NT Process Control) which runs every 1 minute. Re: Re : AW: RESOVLED Re: Long Time Saving Active Link
Another tip for the save to happen almost instantaneously is that before saving your Active link or Active links or any other workflow such as filters etc, is that you click on the Server Name on the server window, so as to not display the list of the Active Links or the Filters or whatever it is that you are saving. The Admin tool is designed to perform a search after every save if you have the list showing. This search does not happen if you either close the Server window or click on its name so that the list does not show.. Then it doesn't really matter if you have details enabled or not.. Functionality found in RDP and MasterARSuite is being folded into Dev Studio in AR System 7.5.00 and beyond. RDP as a product will not be taken forward beyond its current version. Hi Jase, I think you mean ITSM 8 right? BMC said this functionality is not currently available - ITSM Patch 8 due in Feb 2010 will incorporate this features. Has anyone gotten Change Requests automatically genereated via Maintenance Schedules attached to CI's? We acquired this product as a result of BMC buying IT Masters and discarding the excellent MasterARSuite application, whereupon BMC transferred our license to RDP. We barely used it since it was a poster child for a bloated, crash-prone java app, and it had only a shadow of the capability that MasterARSuite had contained. It is no surprise to me that the MasterARSuite is now being reincarnated as AR Smarts. My interest in whether or not RDP will have a follow-on product for license holders stems from the price for renewing support on something that I have not used at all in almost two years, which barely supported ARS 7.1 (especially with ITSM 7 installed) and does not support 7.5. There is no point in doing so unless a _useful_ follow-on product is in the pipeline. After the latest fiasco where BMC replaced Topology Discovery and Foundation Discovery with Atrium Discovery and Dependency Mapping but decided to consider it a different product and charge people to transfer their licenses to it, my trust level towards BMC is at a 12 year low. They even sold us TD/FD 1.6 three weeks AFTER ADDM 7.5 had been released, with no indication that we were buying an obsolete product (and one that does not support 7.5 - you need ADDM for that) and that would not have a direct upgrade path to the replacement product (which ADDM is; just read the Release Notes). I asked our Maintenance Renewal Rep about RDP when we got the quote for renewal, but so far do not have any answer so I am holding up the entire process (plus there was maintenance for TD/FD 1.6 to question since that does not give us access to the follow-on ADDM product). Our sales rep is trying to clean up the TD/FD/ADDM mess, although it will cost us more money, but I think he was blind-sided on this the same as we were. 7.5 patch 1 user tool causes Windows 2008 64 bit computer to hang
Had anybody had any issues with the 7.5 User Tool hanging up a 2008 x64 computer? This happens on both our production server and my workstation. If we use WUT 7.1 it does not happen. It usually happens when trying to click on a field. The last time it happened the Windows Commit Charge went from 2.5 to 3.6 instantly once the machine hung. After about 5 minutes and remotely trying to taskkill aruser.exe from another computer aruser.exe dies and Commit Charge goes back to 2.4. I have had instances where the WUT will keep working if I do not remotely kill it and let it sit for some time. It will usually hang again fairly quick. ARS 7.5 Patch 1 on AIX 5.x on a remote Oracle 10g
I am having a strange problem on our development server. The installation completes successfully and starts the ARS Server and everything seems good. Until I stop the service and restart it. Then I get memory allocation errors. We are beginning to suspect a problem with the start-up script itself as we have already checked out other potential OS related configuration areas such as ulimits etc. Besides the installer if we try reinstalling with the upgrade option or share option has no problems starting the Server. So the start-up script used by the installer has no problems starting it. It is the script that gets coded in the bin directory that looks like it has a fault somewhere. Does anyone have ARS 7.5 patch 1 running successfully on AIX 5.x using Oracle 10g as the back-end remote database? More importantly, does your system restart with no problems after you issue a arsystem stop by a arsystem start??? If you have the same problem as I, and have a ticket open with BMC, please let me know. We might be able to compare facts/notes etc. If you have no problems restarting your AR Server 7.5 Patch 1 using the arsystem start-up script, I would like a copy of your arsystem start-up script to compare with mine. Re: Looking for best way to upgrade from 7.0.1 to 7.1.0
Actually, starting with patch 003 or 004 (I think the latter), BMC changed its strategy for updating patched forms in ITSM. The new patches replace the existing form with their patched version rather than just updating the existing form. This means that any additional fields that you have added will be deleted from the form, and any data in those fields will be lost. If you've added any custom fields, you will first need to export your data and customizations, then apply the patch, reapply your customizations and reimport the values for your custom fields. As a matter of course, all customized (e.g., disabled OOB workflow) must be verified after any patch activity to verify that it has not been changed by the patch. That is true of any patch, not just the ITSM patches (although, you can often narrow down what workflow to verify by the subsystem or application it belongs to and what's being patched).
