SRM 7.6.03 Entitlement
Hi, I'm facing problems in setting up entitlement rules in mulititenancy environment. For exclusion entitlement rule where Everyone is not entitled to see one particular SRD for Company A I am not able to see the others SRDs for Company A as well. Setting this SRD as Global doesn't exclude the visibility. So I'm able to see this one SRD and still the others for Company A don't show up. Flushing entitlement cache doesn't help. Is there any known defect for this functionality or I'm doing somthing wrong? regards, Marek ___ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org attend wwrug11 www.wwrug.com ARSList: Where the Answers Are
Re: SRM 7.6.03 Entitlement
Do you have multi-tenancy enabled? Do you have an entitlement group setup in which entitles users to the SRDs of that company? You may need to create one overarching group that has access to all the SRD's for that company. I believe when entitlement is enabled, you need to do that. I may be wrong but it's something to try. I haven't configured entitlements in a while :) Hopefully someone will correct me if I am wrong. -Tauf From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:arslist@ARSLIST.ORG] On Behalf Of Marek B. ARSmarts voted Best New Product by WWRUG11 attendees
** Hello List, We are proud to inform you that ARSmarts has been voted Best New Product by the attendees of WWRUG11. Our goal is to save time and headaches to Remedy developers, and also to people who manage large applications (like ITSM), and it looks like we are on the right track :-) :-) Thank you for your support, which means a lot to us. Don't hesitate to email us with your suggestions for new features, as you are probably not the only one who needs them. We already received a number of suggestions during our presentations at the WWRUG, some of which will probably be in the next release, so keep them coming ;-) ;-) . Best regards. Re: Must have Asset to add CI records?
Yes. With the CMDB you get the Base forms, Class Manager et al. You just don't get the AST:xx GUI forms. Go in with Dev-Studio and look for BMC.CORE: forms. Warning: the base forms aren't very pretty for manual data maintenance, relationships, associations et al. If you need an automated way to affect these data, consider Meta-Update scripting. Thanks. I am familiar with Core, Explorer, managing CIs, etc. That is not where I am having trouble. I am looking to manage CI data and allow some users to manage CI data through the ITSM interface. I am afraid the limitation may be the AST and related forms. It appears that you can't manage CI data with an Asset license. If that is true, it makes CMDB practically useless from Incident, Problem, and without an Asset license. If you have installed any of the ITSM apps then the AST forms are present. You can add AM licenses of fixed and floating to users who need to use AM functions such as contract management. Re: arapprove plugin failure
Let me guess ARSystem 7.5 patch 006? ITSM 7.6.01 ? From what I can see, this is the approval server crashing. We have the same issue and starting experiencing it once we started implementing multi-tenancy within change management and different approval rules. Working with BMC, but to no avail so far. The thing is, it only does this periodically and is difficult to re-produce. We have something monitoring the error logs and whenever we see this, we just stop/start the aplugin.exe to keep it running. Keep me in the loop if you hear anything! I'll do the same... Re: SRM issue with Incident SRDs
Maria, I've seen this issue and what I've had to do is hard code the mapping for that field within your AOT after you relate the template to it. So when you define the fields that will map to your variables in the PDT, pick Incident Type, but set a default value of whatever it is you want. If you want to make it dynamic, you can always add it without a value in the AOT and then map a variable that you can then hard code or set via a question using your SRD question mapping step. Hope this doesn't confuse you... -Original Message- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:arslist@ARSLIST.ORG] On Behalf Of Maria Calabrese Sent: Monday, September 26, 2011 2:49 PM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: SRM issue with Incident SRDs Currently working on the implementation of SRM 7.6.4 (within the ITSM suite) I am setting up Service Request Definitions for Incidents. Hugo, There is an escalation that runs to update Complete changes to Closed status after a certain period of time. That period of time is configured in the App Admin - Custom section. Re: Anomalous behavior on Change Management
Thanks Eli; I'm running into ITSM 7.0.3 patch 2... The issue here is that they're not moving from Complete to Closed, they're moving from Closed to Complete or Complete to Schedule, and others from Implementation in Progress to Scheduled just a second later from the last approval signature has been placed. Re: Anomalous behavior on Change Management
Interesting. You may want to look into the approval workflow then. I would be wondering why the changes are making it to Closed or Scheduled if you still have approval records pending. You might also check the SYS:Status Transition Rules form. Ensure that the appropriate rules are enabled in order to prevent the system from being able to revert your Change status. -Eli From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:arslist@ARSLIST.ORG] On Behalf Of Hyunkel v2.0 Sent: Monday, September 26, 2011 2:11 PM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Re: Anomalous behavior on Change Management ** Thanks Eli; I'm running into ITSM 7.0.3 patch 2... Re: ARERR 314 Field does not exist on Current form
Have you tried changing the work space? I am currently working with BMC on this issue. The work space gets corrupted somehow and you start getting all sorts of errors when you open workflow and try to save things. Remove the field from the form (after noting all of its properties) and save the form Add the field back to the form with the same field-id and properties. Import the data that was saved. Re: Must have Asset to add CI records?
Yes, absolutely Incident and change users can manage CIs. If they have an Asset Admin/license time None, they can create records; if they have Asset user/None, they can update the CIs to which their support groups are attached. While Asset Mgmt is an awesome application and gives you a lot of tools to manage your CIs, you don't need to purchase user licenses for it to allow users to create and update CIs. I believe the incident management user manual - or the ITSM configuration guide - covers what Asset Admin vs Asset User can do.
