Error 9130 - Cannot find dispatch method for {Orchestrator}executeProcess

2012-10-22 Thread Betül Kaan Kuyumcu
Hello arslist Members,

In our production Environment whenever a Set Fields Filter which calls BMC
Atrium Orchestrator is triggered we got the error 'Error encountered while
executing a Web Service : Cannot find dispatch method for
{Orchestrator}executeProcess (ARERR 9130)' and we also see the same in the
client or server side filter logs and also in the arjavaplugin.log please see
below. We have the suspicion that there is a problem from Remedy connecting to
AO because of this info in the error Cannot find dispatch method for
{Orchestrator}executeProcess. We are not able to find a solution even not in
the Knowledge Base from BMC or the Communities and even not in the arslist.
This is causing huge problems in our production environment because our
interfaces are not working properly and 4 of them are effected from this.

WWRUG BMC Sale Rumors

2012-10-22 Thread John Baker
Dan

I know you're disappointed we didn't attend WWRUG and we've already
received some great feedback on the SSO Plugin functionality, so thanks
for reminding everyone. Indeed, one of the RUG volunteers was
particularly complimentary about our special presentation :)

But believe it or not, going to RUG is optional. Certainly, if I've got
a choice between spending a spare day with my young son or going to a
breakfast meeting and listening to warm words about a support service,
you'll forgive me if I choose humpty-dumpty and a pile of Lego.

I hear there was a great attendance at the Kinetic Enthusiasts Group
this year. Are you going next year?

Re: Error 9130 - Cannot find dispatch method for {Orchestrator}executeProcess

2012-10-22 Thread Carl Wilson
Hi,
you need to check a couple of things here:

1. Can you access the ORCA Web Service page from the ARS Server attempting to
run the Filter?
2. Check the configuration in the ARS Orchestration forms. Make sure it
matches what you see in step 1 for ports and end address for server name. Also
check the Grid name, if this has changed or been updated and you are
referencing this in workflow, it will throw an error.

Head on over to the BMC Discussion boards, there is a great support forum for
Orchestrator.

Cheers.

As usual John, you like being a rabble rouser.

1st: You post a WWRUG special when you aren't even a vendor there, and
didn't attend

2nd: Suggesting HP is a better product then half taking it back but
basically saying no one else but you understands SSO
Now it appears you are trying to say that a healthy discussion about support
is a rant comparable to HP support problems,
and it sounds like you would rather not be in the Remedy space, so why are
you even here?

3rd: Yes BMC did listen, they sent Jay Shankar and 6 others from the support
team were at Evening at Engineering and were in a morning breakfast meeting,
and if you had bothered to show up like other vendors you would have known.

More after I get some sleep, just got back after a rather busy and very
informative week.

Apologies are useless: Deeds not Words. I'm sure you have heard of that one.
Lets see how V8 goes, one company that I know of as of Tuesday had already
gone production.

The entire HP vs BMC thing is entirely subjective. JSS came within an inch
of an SSO Plugin sale in 2010 only to be scuppered by the organisation
cancelling the BMC project.  And I've spoken to a couple HP customers
complaining about HP support and asking if BMC were as bad. I pointed them
at arslist and the huge support rant.

On that note, did anyone from BMC apologise for the poor support documented
by many users? I recall they were sending someone to rug to listen.

Hi! Kia is an engaging speaker and well... you should have been here.

Here's something: talk SMACK to your customers! Social, Mobile, Analytics,
Cloud, Knowledge. Those the areas in which computing in general, and
applications in particular, will evolve over the next few years.

Embrace Genius Bar and Bring your own device. You should be able to
schedule an appointment with IT, just as you would with a barber or a
mechanic or physician. End users are much more tech-savvy than just a few
years ago. Consumerize the front end, manage the applications in the
  middle, industrialize the back end.

Innovations at BMC are NOT an accident. Here's Doug Mueller. I notice a new
title on Doug's slide: Corporate Architect. Nice!

The world of IT is changing and we NEED to adapt to it. Not just running
the machinery, no longer just providing the services, but actively becoming
a partner with the business or enterprise. What you DO is IT, but your JOB
is better banking or retail or manufacturing. Too much of IT is focused on
the tools rather than on delivering the product of the company or
  organization.

Doug has admitted he does not have a smart phone. His phone is used for
(wait for it) phone calls! Attention span of a teenager is 140 characters.
This fundamentally changes the way you must interact.

Decision support not Reporting. Data != information. The same data
means different information to different people. More and more often what
IT does is one source of many, rather than a single channel to deliver a
service. How do we get the IT out of ITIL? Why is it not BPIL?

Doug also gave us some insight into areas of improvement in coming
releases. New features will not be written using Flash - HTML5 instead.
More normalized data. More single source of truth. More emphasis on mobile
  clients and consumer interface.

There's more, but we cannot tell you about it (Seriously). Very cool.
  You had to be here

  Doug

Hi,

yes you can use Atrium Orchestrator to integration to ARS and ITSM Modules.
The current version supports the latest ARS and ITSM release (Version
8.0.00) and is backwards compatible through the supported ARS versions. For
previous versions before version 7 you will need to contact BMC support.

It is a separate product, therefore you will need to contact your BMC Sales
representative for pricing information.

Re: MVP 2012 - Congratulations LJ Longwing!

2012-10-22 Thread Longwing, LJ CTR MDA/IC
Thank you to all that nominated and voted for me...it is a great honor.

2 things for the list.

1 - The plaque maker apparently didn't use proper quality control processes,
and the award is mounted upside down on the plaque. I have decided NOT to fix
it, and will proudly display it upside down as was apparently intended.

2 - Dan announced at the awards that there will be no ARSList Awards next year
and that this year was the last MVP. After extensive discussion with him one
on one, he told me that if the community at large didn't care enough to vote
for an MVP, then one shouldn't be declared. At this rate there was somewhere
in the realm of a 2% voting rate of overall recipients of this list.

There were over 10 THOUSAND posts to the list last year, and only 100ish people
decided that it was worth their time to thank anyone for the help provided?

If Dan decides to allow an MVP vote next year, I'm going to be doing my best to
rally the troops and ensure that we have a good voter turnoutI don't think
a 10% turnout is unreasonable

WWRUG specials is an infringement on Vendors that do go, unless the Vendor was there

2012-10-22 Thread dan
John

I don' t see the relevance of me attending KEG to you attending KEG or
WWRUG?

The primary issue with your WWRUG special is copyright and branding
infringement.

Vendors pay money to be associated with the conference, and attendance is of
course optional,
some vendors come every other year. When they aren't there they don't do
WWRUG specials,
however saying I am having a special for ARSlist members is fine. Given
that is at least 80% of the
Remedy world, not a big restriction on who gets it.

Whilst I was advised to shut your account and remind you of certain legal
things, I was too busy last week,
And anyone who has been on the list for a few years can tell you, oh right
that includes you,
I don't pursue legal issues, once a year someone says they will sue me for
something on the list.

So Stay Calm, Carry On.

I know you're disappointed we didn't attend WWRUG and we've already received
some great feedback on the SSO Plugin functionality, so thanks for reminding
everyone. Indeed, one of the RUG volunteers was particularly complimentary
about our special presentation :)

But believe it or not, going to RUG is optional. Certainly, if I've got a
choice between spending a spare day with my young son or going to a
breakfast meeting and listening to warm words about a support service,
you'll forgive me if I choose humpty-dumpty and a pile of Lego.

I hear there was a great attendance at the Kinetic Enthusiasts Group this
year. Are you going next year?

Hiding entry point in Home Page (7.6.04)

2012-10-22 Thread Alberto M. Lopez
Hi all!
Our customer wants to hide Infrastructure Change application in his ITSM

I've tried to delete entry points in Incident form (HPD:Help Desk) and
Incident management console, but in the Home page, the entries are
unmodified.

I think deleting entry points keeps the forms hidden in Home Page, but I
don't know what's the way.

Could someone help me please?.

ARS 8.0 Documentation

2012-10-22 Thread Drew Shuller
Good morning ARS Listers.

I take it that the ARS Server documentation format has changed from pdf
files to html. Or are pdf files still available?

I'm asking because the html documentation for installing the ARS Server is
a bit light, and it's referencing the install spreadsheet, which doesn't
seem to be matched up with the installer panels that I'm seeing. The
information there is a bit light as well.

We're getting hung up on the database panels. Is the installer creating the
ARSystem user, called ARAdmin, or am I supposed to create that user
beforehand? Furthermore, is there a way to specify that I may have created
the ARSystem database beforehand? How would the installer know I've done
that? We're also having problems where the installer doesn't seem to
recognize anything but the default instance, and only then when the
instance name is not included. Anything else, and the installer says that
that database is not recognized.

just put in what you want.. ARAdmin and password you either have, or want..
it will check the system and see if it can get in the front door, then it
will prompt for the System password later..
if it needs it.. and it will ask for it.. and then create ARAdmin if
needed..
hope that helps...
Doc's -- not so good, in my opinion.. pdf often refers to the web, and the
web then refers to the PDF..
you could spend years doing that and never get anywhere.. LOL...

2012-10-22 Thread Longwing, LJ CTR MDA/IC
Drew,
I'll let you reference the docs provided by other people, but I'll address your
questions regarding the DB/Installer

During the install, it should ask you for a DB Server, DB, User, and Password.
The defaults for DB, User, Password are ARSystem/ARAdmin/AR#Admin#
respectively. If you provide a different value to any of these items, it will
try to use it. If however, the installer isn't able to connect to the server
in question, to the DB in question, with the ID/PW provided, it will request
the SA PW so that it can go in and create what it needs.

LJ has a definite point about participation in the ARSlist awards. I was
not aware that voting was so lethargic. Even if you're not an active

it. Everyone who didn't vote should examine the disrespect they have shown

voting next year that you all step up to the plate and do the right thing.
So little is asked of you to support this service. For many of you this is
'free' support, you need to do your part! And it is a tradition that
should not be let go of.

LJ ... congratulations for sure on a well deserved win. I've utilized much

The other nominees are to be congratulated too, I know that Jason Miller is

hard work and way for us to let those who go the extra mile know we value
those efforts.

Re: Reported Source

2012-10-22 Thread Rod Harris
Hi Mark,

Since 7.5 Remedy includes a very neat Show relationships feature. It is
enabled by ticking the box for object relationships on the main server
config tab in AR System Administration and restarting.

Once you have this feature enabled it will show you the workflow that
directly relates to a field or other object. There are some relationships
that are not shown such as where the field is included in a join form but
it will give you a pretty good indication of the workflow implications of
changing a field. It is fast too and a lot quicker than trying to open new
lists for the various object types and trying to work out form the name if
they relate.

I think Change requests are not the sort of thing that really requires
tracking of the reported source as they are typically not directly phoned
in from end users and/or done in great volumes. I'd say you are correct in
your assertion that the field is not on the Change form.

Re: ARS 8.0 Documentation

2012-10-22 Thread Sabyson Fernandes
The docs are in Wiki format and you have a link on each doc to download as pdf
(note that screenshots do not render properly when downloaded as pdf). In some
cases it ends up being one huge document that you need to go through to find
something. You can however download individual sections that you are interested
in which I think is really useful. As some previous posters stated, I wish
there was a master reference index for the docs.

With regards to the db install, I have installed successfully on Windows 2008
with SQL Server 2008 (64 bit) with the overwrite db option (During the beta,
the db overwrite option did not work and you had to drop and create the
database manually. It is fixed in the final release). Our SQL Enterprise
servers are on a SQL farm so DBA's do not want to provide us with the system
admin credentials. We restored the ARSystem database from our test server and
used the overwrite function (wanted to make sure the overwrite function
worked). If you want to create the database manually I remember seeing this
mentioned in the documentation. If you are on SQL server let me know and I can
email the steps to you.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Saby

Good morning ARS Listers.

I take it that the ARS Server documentation format has changed from pdf files
to html. Or are pdf files still available?

I'm asking because the html documentation for installing the ARS Server is a
bit light, and it's referencing the install spreadsheet, which doesn't seem to
be matched up with the installer panels that I'm seeing. The information there
is a bit light as well.

We're getting hung up on the database panels. Is the installer creating the
ARSystem user, called ARAdmin, or am I supposed to create that user beforehand?
Furthermore, is there a way to specify that I may have created the ARSystem
database beforehand? How would the installer know I've done that? We're also
having problems where the installer doesn't seem to recognize anything but the
default instance, and only then when the instance name is not included.
Anything else, and the installer says that that database is not recognized.

Automation of license tracking in Remedy

2012-10-22 Thread Hari Vishwakarma
Hi All,

Hope you all are doing well :)

I have a requirement of automating the license tracking in Remedy.
So, what i have currently in Remedy(AR Server Version 7.5.004 ITSM suite
7.6.001):

--Few forms such as manage license usage form(Vendor form from
BMC),historical form, and few regular forms.

What currently I am looking for, is to automate license tracking in Remedy
whether on form(through customizing) or through database level, which will
trigger me an email when the highest usage of license consumption is
reached, so that accordingly we will take necessary actions to release the
licenses(floating), which will optimize the license usage.

Another option on application level, is that, is there any form available
in Remedy where user's session data is stored like login time, log-out time
and if the answer is yes, what is the form name, and its schema id with
respect to database.

If anybody having knowledge on it or in the past worked, please share, would
be of great help.

Re: [EXTERNAL] Reported Source

2012-10-22 Thread Stroud, Natalie K
Mark:

You might want to look at picking up a copy of ARInside to show you workflow
associated with various controls on forms. It can answer a lot of these
questions for you.

If you've purchased the BMC reporting tool Analytics, I believe you'll need to
customize your Business Objects universe in order to see the new Reported
Source value(s) and have them available for reporting.

I've never seen Reported Source on the Change form - apparently no one cares
what the source of CRQs is.

I know I need to make the change in the Incident Create and Incident forms. Is

On a similar note I don't see Reported Source on the Change form or the Change

But, here I need some starting point, as from BMC, we are having some

the exact form name details or the database table from where i can apply my

Any ray of light in this regard would be of great help.

Re: Automation of license tracking in Remedy

2012-10-22 Thread Easter, David
There are at least two options available:

1. You can enable Historical and Current Licensing usage.

16-Jan-2009 What's New: BMC Remedy Action Request System 7.5.00
PDFhttp://www.bmc.com/supportu/documents/84/15/98415/98415.pdf

Current and historical license usage

To provide data for flashboards so that they can display current and historical
license usage, these read-only forms were added to AR System 7.5.00:

* AR System Current License Usage-Tracks all licenses currently in use
on the server when the Enable License Tracking option is selected in the AR
System Administration: Server Information form. You can use the data in the AR
System Current License Usage form to generate flashboards that show current
license usage.

* AR System Historical License Usage-Tracks information about licenses
that are released while the Enable License Tracking option is selected in the
AR System Administration: Server Information form. You can use this data to
generate flashboards that show the following information for specified time
periods:

* License usage for a single user, including each time that the user
acquired or released a particular license type

* Number of licenses used by all users for a specified application,
license type, or license pool

See Displaying license usage in Chapter 2 of the Configuration Guide.
2. The license usage report can be run via cron / Windows schedule. The
executable is produse.exe and is found on the server. It's output is in CSV
and could then be parsed.

** Hi All,

Hope you all are doing well :)

I have a requirement of automating the license tracking in Remedy.
So, what i have currently in Remedy(AR Server Version 7.5.004 ITSM suite
7.6.001):

--Few forms such as manage license usage form(Vendor form from BMC),historical
form, and few regular forms.

What currently I am looking for, is to automate license tracking in Remedy
whether on form(through customizing) or through database level, which will
trigger me an email when the highest usage of license consumption is reached,
so that accordingly we will take necessary actions to release the
licenses(floating), which will optimize the license usage.

Another option on application level, is that, is there any form available in
Remedy where user's session data is stored like login time, log-out time and if
the answer is yes, what is the form name, and its schema id with respect to
database.

If anybody having knowledge on it or in the past worked, please share, would be
of great help.

Stopping normalization job when reconciliation is running

2012-10-22 Thread Hari Vishwakarma
Hi Folks,

Hope you all doing well :)

As per my subject line is concerned, I want to disable the normalization
activity while running the reconciliation activity in CMDB.
During reconciliation activity, we are neither performing any normalization
activity earlier or after. during its run, the normalization activity runs
in the backend and generates large amount of logs with errors.

So, it is useless to carry forward this normalization activity in parallel
to reconciliation jobs.

Here, i want to know, how to stop this normalization activity with its
logging when this reconciliation activity is running.

Any help in this regard, would be of great help.

SOLVED: ITSM 7.6.4 Change Process Flow Configuration Changes

2012-10-22 Thread Pierson, Shawn
Just to follow up since I didn't get any answers, I found that I was running
into errors, but for some reason they weren't showing up in the log. What was
happening is that my custom process would be bypassed and the backup process I
selected was being triggered. When I took that out, I saw that it was having
problems. It just seems weird that selecting ALL for the Approval Debug Type
really wasn't giving me all of the details.

Anyway, I'm up and running with no issues now, and I have a custom approval
process that delays notifying the approver for 24 hours after the Change
Request is moved to Completed status in order for them to have a day to sit
on it and see if it works right since the odds of users testing things
post-implementation are slim.

Thanks,

Shawn Pierson

Rick,

The simple answer is that in one call no.. You may be able to circumvent it by
two (or more depending on the number of CI’s) WSDL calls to achieve what you
want to..

Remedy can send and receive simple WSDL’s that do not use any complex
constructs (the integration guide talks about this under the web services
