Error 9130 - Cannot find dispatch method for {Orchestrator}executeProcess
Hello arslist Members, In our production Environment whenever a Set Fields Filter which calls BMC Atrium Orchestrator is triggered we got the error 'Error encountered while executing a Web Service : Cannot find dispatch method for {Orchestrator}executeProcess (ARERR 9130)' and we also see the same in the client or server side filter logs and also in the arjavaplugin.log please see below. We have the suspicion that there is a problem from Remedy connecting to AO because of this info in the error Cannot find dispatch method for {Orchestrator}executeProcess. We are not able to find a solution even not in the Knowledge Base from BMC or the Communities and even not in the arslist. This is causing huge problems in our production environment because our interfaces are not working properly and 4 of them are effected from this. Re: Error 9130 - Cannot find dispatch method for {Orchestrator}executeProcess
Hi, you need to check a couple of things here: 1. Can you access the ORCA Web Service page from the ARS Server attempting to run the Filter? 2. Check the configuration in the ARS Orchestration forms. Make sure it matches what you see in step 1 for ports and end address for server name. Also check the Grid name, if this has changed or been updated and you are referencing this in workflow, it will throw an error. Head on over to the BMC Discussion boards, there is a great support forum for Orchestrator. Cheers. Kia is an engaging speaker and well... you should have been here. Here's something: talk SMACK to your customers! Social, Mobile, Analytics, Cloud, Knowledge. Those the areas in which computing in general, and applications in particular, will evolve over the next few years. Embrace Genius Bar and Bring your own device. You should be able to schedule an appointment with IT, just as you would with a barber or a mechanic or physician. End users are much more tech-savvy than just a few years ago. Consumerize the front end, manage the applications in the middle, industrialize the back end. Innovations at BMC are NOT an accident. Here's Doug Mueller. I notice a new title on Doug's slide: Corporate Architect. Nice! The world of IT is changing and we NEED to adapt to it. Not just running the machinery, no longer just providing the services, but actively becoming a partner with the business or enterprise. What you DO is IT, but your JOB is better banking or retail or manufacturing. Too much of IT is focused on the tools rather than on delivering the product of the company or organization. Doug has admitted he does not have a smart phone. His phone is used for (wait for it) phone calls! Attention span of a teenager is 140 characters. This fundamentally changes the way you must interact. Decision support not Reporting. Data != information. The same data means different information to different people. More and more often what IT does is one source of many, rather than a single channel to deliver a service. How do we get the IT out of ITIL? Why is it not BPIL? Doug also gave us some insight into areas of improvement in coming releases. New features will not be written using Flash - HTML5 instead. More normalized data. More single source of truth. More emphasis on mobile clients and consumer interface. There's more, but we cannot tell you about it (Seriously). Very cool. Re: MVP 2012 - Congratulations LJ Longwing!
Thank you to all that nominated and voted for me...it is a great honor. 2 things for the list. 1 - The plaque maker apparently didn't use proper quality control processes, and the award is mounted upside down on the plaque. I have decided NOT to fix it, and will proudly display it upside down as was apparently intended. 2 - Dan announced at the awards that there will be no ARSList Awards next year and that this year was the last MVP. After extensive discussion with him one on one, he told me that if the community at large didn't care enough to vote for an MVP, then one shouldn't be declared. At this rate there was somewhere in the realm of a 2% voting rate of overall recipients of this list. There were over 10 THOUSAND posts to the list last year, and only 100ish people decided that it was worth their time to thank anyone for the help provided? If Dan decides to allow an MVP vote next year, I'm going to be doing my best to rally the troops and ensure that we have a good voter turnoutI don't think a 10% turnout is unreasonable -Original Message- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:arslist@ARSLIST.ORG] On Behalf Of Rod Harris Sent: Sunday, October 21, 2012 9:28 AM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Re: MVP 2012 - Congratulations LJ Longwing! ** Belated congratulations LJ, definitely a deserved choice. WWRUG specials is an infringement on Vendors that do go, unless the Vendor was there
John I don' t see the relevance of me attending KEG to you attending KEG or WWRUG? The primary issue with your WWRUG special is copyright and branding infringement. Vendors pay money to be associated with the conference, and attendance is of course optional, some vendors come every other year. When they aren't there they don't do WWRUG specials, however saying I am having a special for ARSlist members is fine. Given that is at least 80% of the Remedy world, not a big restriction on who gets it. Whilst I was advised to shut your account and remind you of certain legal things, I was too busy last week, And anyone who has been on the list for a few years can tell you, oh right that includes you, I don't pursue legal issues, once a year someone says they will sue me for something on the list. Reported Source
Hi All, Sort of new to ITSM 7.6 and need to change the Reported Source in the Incident. I know I need to make the change in the Incident Create and Incident forms. Is there anywhere else? Any workflow behind these value? On a similar note I don't see Reported Source on the Change form or the Change Create form Am I missing something or was it not included? ARS 8.0 Documentation
Good morning ARS Listers. I take it that the ARS Server documentation format has changed from pdf files to html. Or are pdf files still available? I'm asking because the html documentation for installing the ARS Server is a bit light, and it's referencing the install spreadsheet, which doesn't seem to be matched up with the installer panels that I'm seeing. The information there is a bit light as well. We're getting hung up on the database panels. Is the installer creating the ARSystem user, called ARAdmin, or am I supposed to create that user beforehand? Furthermore, is there a way to specify that I may have created the ARSystem database beforehand? How would the installer know I've done that? We're also having problems where the installer doesn't seem to recognize anything but the default instance, and only then when the instance name is not included. Anything else, and the installer says that that database is not recognized. I raised this question to the doc team last week. They said that PDFs are available as a link on te new wiki site. Re: ARS 8.0 Documentation
just put in what you want.. ARAdmin and password you either have, or want.. it will check the system and see if it can get in the front door, then it will prompt for the System password later.. if it needs it.. and it will ask for it.. and then create ARAdmin if needed.. hope that helps... Doc's -- not so good, in my opinion.. pdf often refers to the web, and the web then refers to the PDF.. you could spend years doing that and never get anywhere.. LOL... Re: ARS 8.0 Documentation
Drew, I'll let you reference the docs provided by other people, but I'll address your questions regarding the DB/Installer During the install, it should ask you for a DB Server, DB, User, and Password. The defaults for DB, User, Password are ARSystem/ARAdmin/AR#Admin# respectively. If you provide a different value to any of these items, it will try to use it. If however, the installer isn't able to connect to the server in question, to the DB in question, with the ID/PW provided, it will request the SA PW so that it can go in and create what it needs. -Original Message- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:arslist@ARSLIST.ORG] On Behalf Of Drew Shuller Sent: Monday, October 22, 2012 10:04 AM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: ARS 8.0 Documentation ** Good morning ARS Listers. Re: MVP 2012 - Congratulations LJ Longwing!
LJ has a definite point about participation in the ARSlist awards. I was not aware that voting was so lethargic. Even if you're not an active poster you certainly gain knowledge from the various posts. When the first requests for nominations and voting are sent you should respond immediately. Not only did Dan and Joel initially set this wonderful facility in motion, Dan has spent many hours over the years maintaining it. Everyone who didn't vote should examine the disrespect they have shown Dan and make sure that if Dan can be convinced to go one more round of voting next year that you all step up to the plate and do the right thing. So little is asked of you to support this service. For many of you this is 'free' support, you need to do your part! And it is a tradition that should not be let go of. LJ ... congratulations for sure on a well deserved win. I've utilized much of the information you have published and I doubt that I'm the only one. The other nominees are to be congratulated too, I know that Jason Miller is also a very active poster. These guys use their own personal time to help all of us out. The award is a justified show of appreciation for their hard work and way for us to let those who go the extra mile know we value those efforts. Re: Reported Source
Hi Mark, Since 7.5 Remedy includes a very neat Show relationships feature. It is enabled by ticking the box for object relationships on the main server config tab in AR System Administration and restarting. Once you have this feature enabled it will show you the workflow that directly relates to a field or other object. There are some relationships that are not shown such as where the field is included in a join form but it will give you a pretty good indication of the workflow implications of changing a field. It is fast too and a lot quicker than trying to open new lists for the various object types and trying to work out form the name if they relate. I think Change requests are not the sort of thing that really requires tracking of the reported source as they are typically not directly phoned in from end users and/or done in great volumes. I'd say you are correct in your assertion that the field is not on the Change form. Re: ARS 8.0 Documentation
The docs are in Wiki format and you have a link on each doc to download as pdf (note that screenshots do not render properly when downloaded as pdf). In some cases it ends up being one huge document that you need to go through to find something. You can however download individual sections that you are interested in which I think is really useful. As some previous posters stated, I wish there was a master reference index for the docs. With regards to the db install, I have installed successfully on Windows 2008 with SQL Server 2008 (64 bit) with the overwrite db option (During the beta, the db overwrite option did not work and you had to drop and create the database manually. It is fixed in the final release). Our SQL Enterprise servers are on a SQL farm so DBA's do not want to provide us with the system admin credentials. We restored the ARSystem database from our test server and used the overwrite function (wanted to make sure the overwrite function worked). If you want to create the database manually I remember seeing this mentioned in the documentation. If you are on SQL server let me know and I can email the steps to you. Hope this helps. There are at least two options available: 1. You can enable Historical and Current Licensing usage. 16-Jan-2009 What's New: BMC Remedy Action Request System 7.5.00 PDFhttp://www.bmc.com/supportu/documents/84/15/98415/98415.pdf Current and historical license usage To provide data for flashboards so that they can display current and historical license usage, these read-only forms were added to AR System 7.5.00: * AR System Current License Usage-Tracks all licenses currently in use on the server when the Enable License Tracking option is selected in the AR System Administration: Server Information form. You can use the data in the AR System Current License Usage form to generate flashboards that show current license usage. * AR System Historical License Usage-Tracks information about licenses that are released while the Enable License Tracking option is selected in the AR System Administration: Server Information form. You can use this data to generate flashboards that show the following information for specified time periods: * License usage for a single user, including each time that the user acquired or released a particular license type * Number of licenses used by all users for a specified application, license type, or license pool See Displaying license usage in Chapter 2 of the Configuration Guide. 2. The license usage report can be run via cron / Windows schedule. The executable is produse.exe and is found on the server. It's output is in CSV and could then be parsed. -David J. SOLVED: ITSM 7.6.4 Change Process Flow Configuration Changes
Just to follow up since I didn't get any answers, I found that I was running into errors, but for some reason they weren't showing up in the log. What was happening is that my custom process would be bypassed and the backup process I selected was being triggered. When I took that out, I saw that it was having problems. It just seems weird that selecting ALL for the Approval Debug Type really wasn't giving me all of the details. Anyway, I'm up and running with no issues now, and I have a custom approval process that delays notifying the approver for 24 hours after the Change Request is moved to Completed status in order for them to have a day to sit on it and see if it works right since the odds of users testing things post-implementation are slim. complex web services 7.6.03
Hi, everyone, I have a requirement that must use web services. I need to create a WSDL that will send an Incident form from one system to another (also, 7.6.x), but the (single) WSDL must include any related CI's. Is Remedy's complex web service capability that complex? Can it be done? tia, Rick ___ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org attend wwrug12 www.wwrug12.com ARSList: Where the Answers Are
Re: complex web services 7.6.03
Rick, The simple answer is that in one call no.. You may be able to circumvent it by two (or more depending on the number of CI’s) WSDL calls to achieve what you want to.. Remedy can send and receive simple WSDL’s that do not use any complex constructs (the integration guide talks about this under the web services section). Re: complex web services 7.6.03
You should be able to as long as you can tie between the Incident and the CI using a single field (You might have to create a Join form in Remedy) Fred -Original Message- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:arslist@ARSLIST.ORG] On Behalf Of Joe Martin D'Souza Sent: Monday, October 22, 2012 4:51 PM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Re: complex web services 7.6.03 ** Rick, The simple answer is that in one call no.. Re: complex web services 7.6.03
That would be another way of doing it, but it would still mean multiple WSDL calls in case of multiple CI's per incident.. They would still be all simple WSDL's.. Re: Hiding entry point in Home Page (7.6.04)
Take a backup and be cautious when you try to change the AL guides touching the homepage entry points as it has got corrupted in our previous environment and the whole navigation field stopped rendering on the homepage. The only way we got it back is to restore the db.
