You can go ahead with any of ITSM 7604 SP2 or 7604 SP4. But it is suggested to install SP4 as it a newer release than ITSM 7604 SP2 hence it promises better functionality and contains fixes of all the known issues of ITSM 7604 SP2. Re: Ar escalator modifying estimated resolution time
There a couple of ways to stop escalations from messing up modified dates and times that I can think of off the top of my head. One requires your to and AND $USER$ != AR_ESCA LATOR to the modifying Filters. Escalations always use a userid of AR_ESCALATOR The other is the change the fields Disable Change Flag to to True. This will only allow wanted field oriented changes and not other changes. FTS on SYS:PredefinedQueries Form
ITSM 76.04 SP2 Oracle 11g / RedHat Linux 5.5 Strange issue after applying FTS to fields on the SYS:PredefinedQuries form. We added FTS to the Query Text Tier 1,2 and 3 fields. After saving the form changes FTS ran and searched on that form worked. However, when I add a new record to that form and supply a value ONLY for the Query Text Tier 1 field the FTS does not work. The entries in the ftsindex .log file appear to be correct but when searching against that column for the record that was just created it fails. If I modify that record (make a change to the Query Text Tier 1 field) then FTS starts working for that record. If I create and entry on that form and supply values for all three fields (Query Text Tier 1,2 and 3) then the FTS indexing works on create of the recrod. We are not having issues with FTS anywhere else in the system. Anyone else out there seeing this kind of behavior? App Admin Console will not stay open.
Hi Folks, I have a strange issue I cannot get to the bottom of. We have a AR System, ITSM 7.6 SP2 environment with 2 servers in a Server group (SG1 SG2). We have 2 mid tier servers (MT1 MT2) each pointing at different SG servers. When I connect via MT1 which connects to SG1 server everything is fine. When I connect via MT2 which connects to SG2 server most things work fine. However if I try to open the Application Administration Console using the normal link on the left the form opens but then closes straight away and brings me back to my home page. If I open it via another form i.e a link in the SLM console, again it opens and then closes. If I use the object list to open the form it opens and stays open and I can use it. However if I try and change to the Custom Configuration tab then it reverts back to Stardard Configuration tab. If I connect MT2 to SG1 then it works fine. I have tried looking in the logs but I cannot see what is causing this behaviour. Below is the logs I get for the user when I open the form via the link in the SLM console ActiveLink: RAC:Config:Console:OnOpen - Mon Nov 5 2012 15:43:12 True actions: True action: {char}:F(57542).S({char}expr:({char}function:ARFuncLeft({char}expr:({char}keyword:$VUI-TYPE$), {integer}expr:({integer}goattype:IntegerType 2 3;ARACTTableRefresh(57512);ARACTExpandCollapseTreeLevels(57512, 2);; action 0 Set-fields 57542 = WIN action 1 ARACTTableRefresh(0, 57512) ARACTCloseWindow(0, 0) Does anyone know how this line is being activated as it seems to be the first difference in the logs when I compare it to working logs. Re: ITSM Installer 8.0 Not Responding?
This hang when there is no activity is pretty common with the 7.5 installers. You can use BareTail (http://www.baremetalsoft.com/baretail/) to watch the install log progress. There are times when there is no apparent activity at the DB or install log level. Like wise there are times the installer screen says it is restarting the AR services but it takes a while for that process to actually begin. ITSM 7.6.4 Data Management Tool Windows 7
Good afternoon, Has anyone gotten the 7.6.4 Data Management Tool to work successfully on Windows 7 and Office 2010? Any guidance on what might need to be done to get this working would be appreciated. I keep getting errors that the CSV being generated is read only, but I've verified that not only is the directory (and all the DMT directories) set up with write permissions, my specific username has admin rights on the PC I'm using. I suspect that it has something to do with some weird Windows 7 security feature that I suspect keeps setting everything in C:\Program Files\ and C:\Program Files (32)\ to be read only, but my admin rights should overcome that. Sometimes even when you're logged in with an account that has admin rights, you need to right-click on the executable you want to run and select Run As Administrator. I don't know all of the details, but apparently just running an application normally under an admin account doesn't actually run it as an admin (or at least not fully as an admin). SOLVED: ITSM 7.6.4 Data Management Tool Windows 7
I just figured it out. There were a few things I did, and unfortunately I’m not sure what actually solved the problem so I’ll list the steps below: 1. Set the “C:\Program Files (x86)\BMC Software\DataManagementClient” directory and all subdirectories to not be Read-Only. I’m skeptical that this is actually possible but I attempted to do it even if Windows decided to change it behind my back. 2. Went to Programs and Features in the Control Panel of my PC, clicked “Change” on Microsoft Office and reset the “Visual Basic For Applications” item to “Run from My Computer.” 3. Rebooted 4. Opened Excel and verified on the Macros section of the Windows Trust Center was set to “Enable all macros.” 5. When you launch the Windows User Tool to run the DMT, make sure you right click on the icon and select “Run as an Administrator”. Some combination of the above things enabled the CSV files to be created, and I was able to successfully import the items into the staging forms. Has anyone taken the ADDM 9.0 plunge?
I am working on project to deploy ADDM 8.3 and ADDM 9.0 just came out. We are at a point where we can easily upgrade our development environment with 9.0. The main selling point is that we can set ADDM to ignore PCs, thus saving time in trying to figure out which computers on a subnet need to be ignored. Has anyone tried ADDM 9.0 yet in a test environment or Beta tested it for BMC? I know it is risky to be the Guinea Pig, but the option to ignore PCs is very tempting. We do not see this issue. Our issue was fixed long ago. The overlay of the form was corrupt which was causing our issue. I am not looking for a fix here. If the form had an overlay, my recommendation was to delete the overlay and recreate a new one. Upgrading to ITSM 7.6.04 using staging server
We are in the process of upgrading ITSM 7.003 to 7.6.04 using the outlined BMC upgrade process, which involves upgrading a staging server. This has been a very painful task. We have experienced countless errors with the installers. Even after the installers come back successful with no errors, we are still finding that the installers did not install all the forms and workflow. So far we have been able to work through or find a resolution path to most of the issues, but it has been painful. Has anyone attempted this upgrade and do you have any lessons learned? If you have attempted this upgrade how long did it take? Thanks, Brian ___ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org attend wwrug12 www.wwrug12.com ARSList: Where the Answers Are

Hi, I am trying to remove special character($,%,, etc.) on a real number field. So what happens is that when i input a value all characters after the special character are turned to 0 here is an example: 123.25 -- 123.200 what i wanted was the the '' sign be removed but not replace the 5 with a 0. 123.25 -- 123.205 is there a way we can filter this out for the real number field? or do you have any alternative to filter this?
