Hi Kiran.

Can you please help me how to do the below request.

Yes you can achieve this. The Authentication Login Name field (field id
 117) on the User form interacts with the User Name field in the Login
dialog box according to the following rules:

If the Authentication Login Name field is present on the User form (this
field has a value of your LDAP login name) the value contained in this
field is used for authentication (Refer +VL call in plugin logs) instead of
the name entered in the User Name field in the Login dialog box.

For backwards compatibility, if the Authentication Login Name field is not
present on the User form or the value in this field is NULL, then the user
is authenticated with the information entered in the User Name field in the
Login dialog box and that authentication will be based on Local remedy
 authentication.

To accomplish this you MUST have Cross Reference Blank Password
parameter set to True (i.e. Blank password in User form for the user).

2013-04-12 Thread Hullule, Kiran
Karthick,

Please remove these 2 lines from your ar.cfg and restart AR Service to see the
results:

AREA-Hub-Plugin: my_area_plug-in.dll
Plugin: areahub.dll

Plugin server thinks your arealdap plugin is setup for hub but in real it's not.

Give it a try.

Regards,
Kiran H

Karthick,

Is the AR server able to access the LDAP server? Use the ldap.exe from the AR
Server and see if it works on that.

Does the bind user have any double byte characters for a password? There used
to be (and I think there still is) an issue with the AR Server not able to
authenticate users that have double byte characters for a password.

These are the two things that I can think of from the top of my head with the
absence of detailed errors in the arjavaplugin log.

Joe

Re: AD Integration

2013-04-10 Thread Carl Wilson
Hi,

Is the user you have configured in the AREA forms setup for a Simple Bind
in AD?

The LDP.exe tool can login using different authentication methods but ARS
expects a Simple Bind user to be provided and used.

This user must also be specified in the AREA configuration as a fully
qualified distignuishedName (including CN, OU, etc).

Check with your AD team to ensure that the credentials supplied are for a
Simple Bind user configuration.

Re: AD Integration

2013-04-10 Thread Joe D'Souza
Karthick,

Is the AR server able to access the LDAP server? Use the ldap.exe from the
AR Server and see if it works on that.

Does the bind user have any double byte characters for a password? There
used to be (and I think there still is) an issue with the AR Server not able
to authenticate users that have double byte characters for a password.

These are the two things that I can think of from the top of my head with
the absence of detailed errors in the arjavaplugin log.

7.6.04 AD Integration and wildcards

2012-08-20 Thread Thad Esser
Hello,

Has anyone experienced an issue with AD integrations where using a percent
(%) as a wildcard doesn't work? Using an asterisk does work as a
wildcard. The percent sign worked in our 7.1 environment, but not 7.6.04.
I have an issue open with BMC, and they said it was an
already identified defect, but that they would have to escalate the issue
to RD for a fix. I find it hard to believe that I'm the first one to find
this, and that they wouldn't already have a fix available.

Thanks,
Thad

different issue)

2011-08-17 Thread Alejandro Canon
Hi Drew

I had to develop some ARDBC integration with AD few years ago, its purpose was
creating CTM:People records querying User AD Table.
As deep as could be your LDAP query (i.e domain\subdomain\OU\anotherOU\Users)
it will be more efficient and response time will be decreased. If you're
querying all domain tree, it will return you all users member of that domain,
even if you need just one of two.

Hi Dave. The log is not really the issue. The query taking much longer than
normal is. Unfortunately, don't have a good baseline log to compare with, or
at least one where the log level was set to 100, the finest level, so I can't
tell if the query results are typical. Also, this is a small custom app.

Good morning everyone. I have a problem with our Customer Info/AD search.
Searching the integration vendor form, we get somewhere around 2000 records.
This takes about 15 seconds, 100% normal. In our help desk form, it used to be
very fast to bring back one record. Now it's taking about 15 seconds for that
one record. I set the plug-in log level to 100, and when viewing the log, I see
that the integration brings back all 2000 records when I'm only wanting one
record. Does anyone know if this is normal behavior? I haven't changed anything
on my end.

This is a 6.3 system in a MS server environment. Can anyone offer any
troubleshooting help? Thank you.

2011-08-17 Thread Ray Palla
Drew;

Are you certain nothing has changed on the AD side? If the query was
working and now it's not, something must be different. Has the AD been
moved?

Also, I know you want just one record returned, but the 2000 thing caught my
attention. 2000 records is the limit for an unlicensed demo server... Is
your server licensed or a test environment?

Siesta anyone?

Re: ARDBC LDAP/AD integration now runs very slow

2011-08-16 Thread Jason Miller
Hi Drew,

What attribute in AD are you querying by? If it is something like username
(samaccount) then I would think the return would be 1 record. Is it possible
that the query against AD is the problem and 2000 is the limit on the
return?

Regarding performance you may get a little better performance if you query
the AD Global Catalog. I can't remember the default port for the GC right
now but I am sure the Googles know. It doesn't have all of the AD schema
attributes but it has the main ones. It also doesn't fix the issue of 2000
records being returned but may provide a little relief.

LDAP/AD Integration Tool

2009-10-27 Thread Mark Lev
A while back I saw a post about a tool that assists with LDAP/AD
integration with Remedy. I cannot seem to find it anymore.

If anyone is aware of this or any other add-on tool I would appreciate
your assistance.

Thanks,
