The company began notifying the affected employees Tuesday at the Daily Record, the Asbury Park Press in Neptune, the Courier-Post in Cherry Hill, the Home News Tribune in East Brunswick, the Courier News in Bridgewater and the Daily Journal in Vineland. The economic downturn we are facing is severe and is expected to last throughout next year, said Thomas M. His company Educating for Justice fights other windmills around the world too, but more troubling is that he travels the country where colleges allow him to give seminars to students about the evils of capitalism. He got caught entering the High School without permission to play make believe Dr. Phil by counseling students, even though he isn't qualified to do so. From the dais he would read excerpts from books by such notorious America-haters as Howard Zinn, while he tried to end long held Asbury Park traditions like the Columbus Day Landing. Bringing condescension to new lows, the thirty-something gen-Xer felt he needed to counsel every person he spoke to as if they needed it, often handing out reading lists to people to improve themselves when in fact the people he was speaking to were on a higher moral plane than him. A constant attention prostitute, he sought out media whenever possible and was noted for sandbagging fellow councilmembers with surprise grandiose pronouncements designed for no other purpose than to make himself look relevant. His gaffes in his short career were many. He got caught overstating the amount of gang members in Asbury Park by 12x the real number and met the wrath of the business community. He played the liberal victimology card and ended up with nothing but a bad beat on the hand. He got caught entering the High School without permission to play make believe Dr. Phil by counseling students, even though he isn't qualified to do so. He was taken to task by the President of the Board of Education for it. He was on the failed side of an effort to build in a residential community a Shelter run by a company notorious for housing child molesters. The Shelter would have been a few blocks from a grammar school. Keady always voted no on Eminent Domain issues as if he were righteous, but likely because he knew there were three votes for yes to pass the measures. That theory was proved true when he was asked to help write a plan to develop Springwood Avenue. He wrote the City's power of Eminent Domain into the plan. Here are a list of his accomplishments as City Councilman: 1. 2. 3. Good Riddance, Lefty. DLTDHYITAOTWO. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] Yahoo! Jack, Thank you for your concern, I sincerely appreciate it. Given my line of work and the stands I have taken on social justice issues in the past (both in my professional life and on Council), Mr. DeSeno's ad hominem attack was not the first, nor will it likely be the last, levied against me. It is part of the job so to speak and I gain solace and strength from my belief in social justice warriors that have gone before me. As imperfect as I am (and believe me, there is no shortage of examples of my falls from grace), I try to follow the words and actions of my heroes - St. Ignatius, St. Francis, Archbishop Romero, Dorothy Day, Jesus of Nazareth. It was Jesus who said: But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you - Matthew 5:44 (NIV translation) I have never seen Mr. DeSeno as an enemy, it is he who has unfortunately chosen to take that posture regarding me. Perhaps in the future that will change, I guess time will tell. For the moment, I sincerely wish you a Merry Christmas Tommy. I pray that you and your family enjoy this Holyday season and that 2009 brings you all that you hope for. Peace, JWK Yahoo! [AsburyPark] Re: AP playing for Championship
Just taking you all to task. Elected officials aside, my sons and I were the only white family at last year's championship game and we don't even live in Asbury. I posted here about the Asbury/Howell Pop Warner game last month which was labelled nationally as the game of the week. I was happy for Asbury Park because they had a ton of people show up. But as I looked across the field I noticed not one white person showed up to support the kids. So if anyone laments that the surrounding suburbs for some reason don't know that Asbury Park is a place of such wonderful diversity, blame the white liberals that live there. The black people of Asbury certainly showed up for the kids. Merry Christmas. --- In AsburyPark@yahoogroups.com, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: In a message dated 12/5/2008 12:52:42 P.M. Re: [AsburyPark] Re: Gannett Co. Inc. has eliminated 206 positions
As a former publisher, I give Tri City full props for making it this far; however, I doubt many in business would think a good business model would be to charge the same price for advertising today as they did for their first issue 7 or 8 (however long its been) years ago. I say this because paper costs have increased, printing costs have increased, ink has increased, trucking fees (to bring the paper and supplies) has increased... When they say they are undercharging for advertising, they mean it. I doubt many businesses could make a living without any price increases in this much time - especially if their industry had costs rise so significantly. oakdorf wrote: --- In AsburyPark@yahoogroups.com mailto:AsburyPark%40yahoogroups.com, justifiedright [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Yet triCityNews has just passed the 70 page mark. Most times the authority you disagree with is one, corrupt, two, hiding the truth or three, in bed with someone! Capice? That's why the feds are going with or tring to go with housing vouchers. People who are eligible have a right to find housing in any area they choose. You still have to be accepted by the landlord. So what happens? You don's pass a credit check or ahe a criminal history. Well, maybe I can find housing in AP. Enter the landlords you specialize in section 8 or government sponsored housing. It's up to the city in inspect and as well, section 8 inspects. That's why I just spent two days fine tuning a pretty nice house for a qualifed section 8 family. New storm door, storm window and front steps and fixed a couple other things. Why? It gets INSPECTED. Then the tenant has to take some PRIDE in their new paid for home. Then maybe their neighbors will. Next we have to move on as to why there are more african americans in jail then whites. Is it because PTI failed more then once or the state paid for programs failed?? That goes for any color. Later. It's friday. Yahoo! [AsburyPark] Re: AP playing for Championship
Just a few words in defense of liberal whites, I live on the East Side, in a high rise with people of every color, nationality and profession. There are even weekenders from New York who maintain a weekend apartment here. The Thurgood Marshall school has all colors too, whites even! Lots of them, although the school is predomonantly Latin American! Don't know if they're Mexican, Honduran, Columbian or what, but a lot of Latinos. Blacks, whites and puerto ricans are the minority here. I've donated to Asbury Park Pop Warner, but have yet to view a game. Over 60 and arthritic, is why. I can't weather the cold like I did in my 20's. I defend anyone right to not attend for the reason stated and many in this group WORK while the games are being played. It's admirable that you and your family attend, but don't character assassinate the group because they're not attending. Knowing me, I'd probably wind up at Jersey Shore Medical with pneumonia, which I've had bouts with for the past 3 years. It's no joke, so I don't attend mainly for that reason. You tend to paint us with a broad brush, but most of us are past the breeding stage and no longer have small children, but some of us have no kids at all and it's unfair to accuse us of promoting segregation. Incidentally, I sip lattes, but where I come from it's part of my culture! Cheers! --- In AsburyPark@yahoogroups.com, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: In a message dated 12/5/2008 4:05:56 P.M. Yeah, you'll have to live with the fact that for all your exposure of his lies (and the quote you invented), the voters ignored you, apparently felt you had no credibility: Monmouth County Republican Zimmer beat Lautenberg by 18,282 votes in the senate race McCain beat Obama by 12,037 votes But in District 6 (mixed countries), Democrat Pallone won an eleventh term by beating McLeod by 82,037 votes.
