Something struck me as odd; calling Howard Zinn an American hater!
WHAT? As though disagreeing with this fascist government, hating
America? What happened to the First Amendment? I'm so glad that my
generation QUESTIONS authority, small a!

Most times the authority you disagree with is one, corrupt, two,
hiding the truth or three, in bed with someone! Capice? Just open
the Press and you'll either read that someone in the Bush
Administration is hiding something, committed a
crime/treason/ torture/wire- taps/conspiracy, etc. Name your situation,

Like Asbury Park COnvention Hall LLC. You can search transfers of land

You have no idea who has agreements with who. If you look at the

Maybe tommy d has a better way of searching the llcs out. Other then

Interesting old llc or business names floating around with Asbury.

Enjoy. I'm playing repair guy as the landlord..storm door stairs,

[AsburyPark] Justified Right spews venom toward Jim Keady

2008-12-05 Thread Jack Pitzer
Posters note - please take notice of the ludicrous moment when JR calls JK A
Bill Ayers
wannabe. He also seems to refuse to acknowledge the good work that JK does in
trying
to prevent child labor over seas, and puts him down because he's trying to make
a
difference in the world. Finally, he refers to JK as A constant attention
prostitute
Seems to be a bit of the pot calling the kettle black. Amazing stuff

To call Jim Keady liberal doesn't draw the picture. He's a leftist. And he
just quit his
elected position as Councilman in Asbury Park, 6 months shy of the end of his
term.

Despite his claims of undying commitment to the poor of Asbury Park during his
campaign, Keady now says he is too busy for them.

He runs a non-profit dedicated primarily to complaining about the Nike company,
who he
thinks are slave traders or something (see picture). His company Educating for
Justice
fights other windmills around the world too, but more troubling is that he
travels the
country where colleges allow him to give seminars to students about the evils
of
capitalism.

A Bill Ayers wannabe.

Even in a City that just voted 9 to 1 Democrat, Jim Keady is alarmingly left.

I've been to speeches by him where audience members yelled Communist in
response to
his words.

From the dais he would read excerpts from books by such notorious
America-haters as
Howard Zinn, while he tried to end long held Asbury Park traditions like the
Columbus Day
Landing.

Bringing condescension to new lows, the thirty-something gen-Xer felt he needed
to
counsel every person he spoke to as if they needed it, often handing out
reading lists to
people to improve themselves when in fact the people he was speaking to were on
a
higher moral plane than him.

A constant attention prostitute, he sought out media whenever possible and was
noted for
sandbagging fellow councilmembers with surprise grandiose pronouncements
designed
for no other purpose than to make himself look relevant.

His gaffes in his short career were many.

He got caught overstating the amount of gang members in Asbury Park by 12x the
real
number and met the wrath of the business community. He played the liberal
victimology
card and ended up with nothing but a bad beat on the hand.

He got caught entering the High School without permission to play make believe
Dr. Phil
by counseling students, even though he isn't qualified to do so. He was taken
to task by
the President of the Board of Education for it.

He was on the failed side of an effort to build in a residential community a
Shelter run by a
company notorious for housing child molesters. The Shelter would have been a
few blocks
from a grammar school.

Keady always voted no on Eminent Domain issues as if he were righteous, but
likely
because he knew there were three votes for yes to pass the measures. That
theory was
proved true when he was asked to help write a plan to develop Springwood
Avenue. He
wrote the City's power of Eminent Domain into the plan.

Here are a list of his accomplishments as City Councilman:

1.

2.

3.

Good Riddance, Lefty.

because they were afraid that someone was going to force them to
restore it. If I remember correctly, the city sent an engineer over

It would actually be better to include the Esperanza site in the
parking discussion. The part that is built is the proposed parking levels.

It could be finished as such rather easily forming the base of a
future tower expansion should the economy warrant.

The City could exercise Eminent Domain, take the site, make it public
property and then lease the rights to operate it as Parking with some
 commercial uses perhaps.

Thank you for the thought, I see myself in your post
 Several terms come to mind:

 - Selective Enforcement
 - Malicious Prosecution

I've been photo documenting various sites for years.
It's clear that there is some 'Personalizing' going on.

To call Jim Keady liberal doesn't draw the picture. He's a

I've been to speeches by him where audience members yelled

A constant attention prostitute, he sought out media whenever

sandbagging fellow councilmembers with surprise grandiose

for no other purpose than to make himself look relevant.

His gaffes in his short career were many.

He got caught overstating the amount of gang members in Asbury Park
 by 12x the real

 liberal victimology
card and ended up with nothing but a bad beat on the hand.

He got caught entering the High School without permission to play
 make believe Dr. Phil
by counseling students, even though he isn't qualified to do so. He
 was taken to task by
the President of the Board of Education for it.

He was on the failed side of an effort to build in a residential
community a Shelter run by a
company notorious for housing child molesters. The Shelter would
 have been a few blocks
 from a grammar school.

Keady always voted no on Eminent Domain issues as if he were
 righteous, but likely
because he knew there were three votes for yes to pass the
 measures. That theory was
proved true when he was asked to help write a plan to develop
 Springwood Avenue. He
wrote the City's power of Eminent Domain into the plan.

Here are a list of his accomplishments as City Councilman:

Jack,

Thank you for your concern, I sincerely appreciate it. Given my line
of work and the stands I have taken on social justice issues in the past
(both in my professional life and on Council), Mr. DeSeno's ad hominem
attack was not the first, nor will it likely be the last, levied
against me. It is part of the job so to speak and I gain solace and
strength from my belief in social justice warriors that have gone
before me. As imperfect as I am (and believe me, there is no shortage
of examples of my falls from grace), I try to follow the words and
actions of my heroes - St. Ignatius, St. Francis, Archbishop Romero,
Dorothy Day, Jesus of Nazareth. It was Jesus who said:

But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute
you - Matthew 5:44 (NIV translation)

I have never seen Mr. DeSeno as an enemy, it is he who has
unfortunately chosen to take that posture regarding me. Perhaps in the
future that will change, I guess time will tell.

For the moment, I sincerely wish you a Merry Christmas Tommy. I pray
that you and your family enjoy this Holyday season and that 2009 brings
you all that you hope for.

Peace, JWK

[AsburyPark] Re: AP playing for Championship

2008-12-05 Thread justifiedright
Just taking you all to task.

Elected officials aside, my sons and I were the only white family at
last year's championship game and we don't even live in Asbury.

I posted here about the Asbury/Howell Pop Warner game last month
which was labelled nationally as the game of the week.

I was happy for Asbury Park because they had a ton of people show
up. But as I looked across the field I noticed not one white person
showed up to support the kids.

So if anyone laments that the surrounding suburbs for some reason
don't know that Asbury Park is a place of such wonderful diversity,
blame the white liberals that live there.

The black people of Asbury certainly showed up for the kids.

Merry Christmas.

2008-12-05 Thread lightgrw
As a former publisher, I give Tri City full props for making it this
far; however, I doubt many in business would think a good business model
would be to charge the same price for advertising today as they did for
their first issue 7 or 8 (however long its been) years ago.

I say this because paper costs have increased, printing costs have
increased, ink has increased, trucking fees (to bring the paper and
supplies) has increased...

When they say they are undercharging for advertising, they mean it. I
doubt many businesses could make a living without any price increases in
this much time - especially if their industry had costs rise so
significantly.

There's lots of business models that don't make sense and you
wonder how they make money.

You're a smart guy and there's no reason you should be a former
publisher. Broaden your horizons and think differently.

You, as a journalist / writer, should be looking at creative ways to
publish on the Internet...I think you're sitting on it and don't even
know it.

Sometimes people have sources of income and the business they run
is for the sake of needing something to do.

And as far as the TriCity goes, I think they are still missing an
opportunity - like putting their archives online.

Mario drive down DeWitt Avenue Saturday night and take note of the
color of the faces.

Then go Downtown and take note of the color of the faces.

Asbury Park may have diversity but it sure as hell doesn't have
integration.

But you just tell yourself whatever you need to, so that you feel
better about yourself. You libs are good at that.

Segregation is the issue that's firing me up lately.

Asbury Park is segregated worse than I've ever seen it. Monmouth
County has segregationist policies and it shows.

New Jersey may as well be in the antebellum south it's so segregated.

So fuck off, latte sipping liberal in denial who dares question my
moral authority. Go pretend all is well as you drive past Asbury's
state sponsored segregated high school that you couldn't care less
about.

Go raise money to save Trees whales and polar bears like a 21st

I'll be at the game.

WHAT? As though disagreeing with this fascist government, hating

Most times the authority you disagree with is one, corrupt, two,

Yep, the country sucks.

Here's brief reasons why america sucks:

1. You lose a job, you have unemployment insurance (in most cases).
Sure it's limited to 26 weeks, but there's more.

2. Medical benefits. I you are not insured, there are programs and
the hospitals that cover you or other services, even the drug
companies. Just have to ask.

3. Education: There are plenty of educational opportunities. Public
edcuation as provided. From the time a kid is born to qualified
families to the time they graduate college

4. Daycare services

5. Special Education Services - for gifted or not so gifted kids...

6. Food banks, food stamps

7. Housing vouchers

8. Roads, highways,

9. Air,

10. laws, police, a sense of safety...

and on and on and on

I figured that a person where the state is paying $1300 month of
their rent is equal to $32,000 year and then..

11. You can screw up and credit cards and NOT go to jail.

12. You can NOT pay your rent and NOT go to jail

13. You can NOT pay your mortgage and soon be forgiven...

14. You can psot freely on message boards even how stupid they get or
waste your or your companies time...

15. You have rights...

AMERICA.

Oak the point continues to be that the middle class african
americans won't lie about their neighborhood diversity or lack
thereof.

Only liberal white guys from Asbury Park do that.

It's not reserved.

It's called choice.

The City, State and Feds have tried and failed to control the social
and economic problems that face a percentage within that section of
town.

That's why the feds are going with or tring to go with housing
vouchers. People who are eligible have a right to find housing in
any area they choose. You still have to be accepted by the landlord.

So what happens? You don's pass a credit check or ahe a criminal
history. Well, maybe I can find housing in AP. Enter the landlords
you specialize in section 8 or government sponsored housing. It's
up to the city in inspect and as well, section 8 inspects. That's why
I just spent two days fine tuning a pretty nice house for a qualifed
section 8 family. New storm door, storm window and front steps and
fixed a couple other things. Why? It gets INSPECTED.

Then the tenant has to take some PRIDE in their new paid for home.
Then maybe their neighbors will.

Next we have to move on as to why there are more african americans in
jail then whites. Is it because PTI failed more then once or the
state paid for programs failed?? That goes for any color.

Later. It's friday.

[AsburyPark] Firing Up for an Outrage of the Week

2008-12-05 Thread MarioAPNJ

[EMAIL PROTECTED] writes:

Segregation is the issue that's firing me up lately.

Just lately? Firing up is pointless unless you can shed some light and
offer plausible solutions.

When you had the bully pulpit of a local column, did you shed any light?

In the years you wrote for triCityNews, I remember reading (after popping a
Zantac) each week lots of your firing up:
liberals against candy canes and commencement speakers; challenging the
patriotism of disabled veteran Max Cleland; red-baiting; Kwanzaa; spitting at
anyone who said happy holidays; Nostalgia Nazis; inflammatory comments
implying assassination threats; rantings against the Press and Pallone; that
sophomoric term dummycrats; and a host of other wedge issues.

And in that short-lived Coaster column: something about NOW and  feminists;
and something about Obama, because he's black

Mostly, nothing about Asbury Park's real problems nor cool-headed
suggestions to solve them: Fire and heat, no light.

I'll admit I don't know how to solve the de facto segregation remaining in
parts of this city now.

But I remember being frustrated and pissed off years ago as I watched the
exploiters move in to fill the vacuum left by white flight: absentee and slum
landlords; poorly staffed and mismanaged urine-smelling homes for those
dumped here by the state or county; and corrupt officials.

Were you fired up then?

Fortunately, we've turned the corner on those problems: most of the
exploiters were driven out and replaced by more earnest types moving in. But
I
don't know if any of those new residents came from Howell.

Chill.

[AsburyPark] Re: AP playing for Championship

2008-12-05 Thread sharon_b283
Just a few words in defense of liberal whites, I live on the East
Side, in a high rise with people of every color, nationality and
profession. There are even weekenders from New York who maintain a
weekend apartment here. The Thurgood Marshall school has all colors
too, whites even! Lots of them, although the school is predomonantly
Latin American! Don't know if they're Mexican, Honduran, Columbian or
what, but a lot of Latinos. Blacks, whites and puerto ricans are the
minority here.

I've donated to Asbury Park Pop Warner, but have yet to view a game.
Over 60 and arthritic, is why. I can't weather the cold like I did in
my 20's. I defend anyone right to not attend for the reason stated
and many in this group WORK while the games are being played. It's
admirable that you and your family attend, but don't character
assassinate the group because they're not attending.

Knowing me, I'd probably wind up at Jersey Shore Medical with
pneumonia, which I've had bouts with for the past 3 years. It's no
joke, so I don't attend mainly for that reason. You tend to paint us
with a broad brush, but most of us are past the breeding stage and
no longer have small children, but some of us have no kids at all and
it's unfair to accuse us of promoting segregation. Incidentally, I
sip lattes, but where I come from it's part of my culture! Cheers!

I have a life and a pretty good one because I was raised in this

AMERICA.

Oh thanks for reminding me...

Has Frank Pallone brought that money he promised to the West Side
Community Center 2 Martin Luther King Birthday's ago?

Did he ever return your email about that Asbury quote?

No on both counts.

Oh I was so wrong to hold him accountable for broken promises to
Asbury Park.

However will I live with myself that I exposed the lies of Frank
Pallone?

Yeah, you'll have to live with the fact that for all your exposure of his
lies (and the quote you invented), the voters ignored you, apparently felt
you had no credibility:

Monmouth County
Republican Zimmer beat Lautenberg by 18,282 votes in the senate race
McCain beat Obama by 12,037 votes

But in District 6 (mixed countries), Democrat Pallone won an eleventh term
by beating McLeod by 82,037 votes.

You gotta work on that credibility thing.

I can live with his not returning my email; I won't be petty.

Or maybe I was: I ignored all of Pallone's calls for campaign donations and
volunteering.
All my campaign money and networking went to Obama.

Asbury and money just don't mix.

First, you need a accountability.

Then a real plan and what to with the money so there is a return
that can be measured.

Giving money for the hell of it or for a photo opp is a waste.

Like holding the developers to a missed pr target date. You can't yell
at someone if you can't yell at yourself first.

Give me money - I have an idea...
