AsburySteve's other argument for Pallone was that he made his promise to AP in January, and the deadline to apply was February, so he didn't have alot of time to meet the deadline. So he blew it, right? Tom, Yes, but I never said anyone "Has a Medical condition" or something similar. The wording is what determines the damage or if it's a personal attack. Saying "you're a Joke" or "You're sick" is one thing, but saying "Skip has a serious medical condition that affects his mind, and makes him a nut case" is totally different! That's stating that there's actually an existing condition of some kind, which Skip led people to believe, NOT me, with regards to him or anyone! Referring to a personality trait is one thing, but he's "Over the Top" and spiteful and vindictive. Remember, he came in here out of no where and attacked me for NO reason! No Provocation! And said there were existing, assumably proven "Conditions" about me .. Which are non-existent! That conditions people to believe those lies! I'm not worried long term, because no one likes Skip, anyway, or takes him seriously! He was just doing something that he was instructed to do by pro-Redevelopment People. He gains benefit from them, so he does it! My long term history proves that I care about People and live up to my convictions. Liars usualy get tripped up in their lies, as will happen in Skip's case. It is exactly those RICH that are funding them. The Market Street Mission will do more harm than good for this city. It is time for this city to get out of the gutter - it's been there long enough. I suggest that Everyone also provide statistics and sources as to their "Over the Top" remarks that the Homeless and Poor are responsible for virtually ALL of the crime in this City! Many studies were done, including one recently by the Mayor of NYC, Bloomberg, which conclusively proved that Urban cities would have very serious problems surviving without their minority Populations! You don't need a Source for that, since you can get NYC's City Hall number from information! They also did a similar study in Freehold with respect to the (Positive) contribution that the Mexican Immigrants make to their Society, and with very similar results. You can Email the People at NJPeace.org to see if they have those results. It would be quite sensible for the "Members" in here to acknowledge that most of them have very little accurate information, as I do, about Issues concerning Poverty and it's causes and relation to Society, so maybe a little respect might be in order, which isn't given right now! What seems to prevail with those against the poor is a sort of Yuppie "Gang Mentality", that whenever those making money want to get rid of someone, or some thing, they gang up and DO it, whether it's Morally, Ethically or religiously correct or NOT! I was trying to show the "Logical" reasons for accepting the Poor, but there's so much Hatred towards them, and Bigotry, that people won't back off and think things through at all! I, for one, feel quite sorry for those People! They are LOSERS! I sincerely hope that you personally don't follow philosophies that you'll seriously regret later in your life! It would be one thing if he were just a lone internet kook, but this guy claims to run a nonprofit organization that helps the poor in Asbury. If I'm not mistaken, there was even a benefit concert for his organization during the summer, written up in the triCityNews. Whatever your protestations to the contrary may be, Steve, your words (and bizarre use of them) speak volumes about who you are and what you are about. As soon as you say that the 'gentrification' of Asbury Park is a Jewish plot, you have crossed the line, in terms of both bigotry and credibility. The ethnicity of the redevelopers has nothing to do with whatever their actions or inactions are. That the Fishmen are Jewish has no more bearing on the redevelopment any more than Joseph Carabetta's presumed Catholicism did during his day. Additionally, your declaration that Israel has no right to exist - which is something of a red herring throughout this whole discussion, anyway - further proves what you're all about. Read Dr. King's words about the subject if you need any more. We went head to head about this before. I don't want a repeat of that nasty argument from several years back. But let's just say that this city does not need a demagogue running around to its poor people telling them that it's "the Jews" that want to take their homes away. That sort of thinking sent many a store up in flames during Asbury's volatile years, and we don't need to see that again. And for the record, I represent none of the elements involved in the city's government or redevelopment.
