I will put my view down plainly. Even though the mud looks interesting, it is diffecult to join in when there appears to be alot of infighting around about this mud on a open forem such is the audiogames forem. It makes me ask the question why do I want to go and play a mud that smells like trouble when I can find other things that can usually keep me intertained? Yes, the mud may just be my cup of tea as it were. the infighting may be a huge cup of nothing cake tea coffee as it were. As for me being mad, it seems like every so often something blows up into a major thing on the forem. In away, it is a shame that the mud is going to remain closed source, but that is his choice to make.

Wayfar1444 sounds like a interesting mud, but with all the surround pissing about just makes me want to stay clear. As far as I am thinking, where there is smoke, there is usually fire. maybe I will just go play Alter Aeon or Cosmic Rage or Miriani or Vast Horizon or awaken worlds or just read The Expanse series. At least that in the series I don't have to worry about any adman wanting to band me, or and players lieing or telling stories, or real shit going down. To say I am a bit mad goes without saying. Is the source code open sourced so that more than one copy can be hosted? You know, so that more than one adman can have a go to see who really does abetter job, or so that players have a bit of a choice of who they are playing with? It just seems that we have things like this blow up from time to time causing alot of dromma, and usually the fault is not usually not all that clear at times.

wondering what is planned for october 31 on Alter Aeon

Wondering if Dentin has anything planned for the October 31 Halloween holiday for AlterAeon. I personally would like an AlterAeon version of that corrupted blood thing that happened in world of war craft a number of years ago without that one little loop hole that trolls made use of, or should I say a bug that a few player found. Note, I never played world of war craft, found that one little problem interesting reading, and can't help but wonder what would had happen if that was interestduce to other games, or how that might spice things up in the right kind of mud.

why are some MUDs abandoned, lets talk?

What are some of the abandoned MUDs out there that was once good that no one plays anymore? Thinking that sense in one topic on this forum someone said something about cyber assault pretty much has no one on even though someone is paying the server cost. I am wondering how often that happens and if someone could talk about their enjoyment of said mud. My main focus is why someone would leave such muds up in the first place.

This might be useful. Found in the help file section 2.11 "using a mouse". Just remember that shades of doom v2 and later has mouse support.Like a joystick, the mouse provides an alternate and interesting method of directly controlling your character, but also like the joystick, it may take some time to become experienced enough so that it feels totally natural. Unlike the joystick, you can not disable the mouse through the Options menu.  If you never intend to use the mouse to play Shades of Doom, either keep the mouse to one side so that it is not accidentally moved, or delete the mouse.ini file in your Shades of Doom user data folder, or add the following line: Mouse Enabled = False to the same mouse.ini file.  When moving through menus, move the mouse forward to move up through a menu, backwards to move down through a menu, and click the left mouse button to select the menu item. To walk forward, push the mouse forward. To walk backwards, pull the mouse backwards. The faster the mouse is moved, the faster your character walks. To continuously walk forward slowly, hold the Shift key and move the mouse slightly forward. Press the shift key and move the mouse forward again, to walk faster. Do it once more to have your character walk even faster.  Pull the mouse backwards very slightly to stop the character once it has started walking continuously. Hold down the shift and pull the mouse backwards to slowly walk backwards continuously.  Do it once more to increase the character's backward speed. To turn left, slide the mouse to the left. Likewise, to turn to the right, slide the mouse right, and keep the front of the mouse pointed forward. Hold down the Control key and click the left and right mouse buttons to snap left and right to the next 90 degree direction. To make a quick 180 degree turn, hold down the Control key and pull the mouse backwards slightly. To walk sideways, hold down the Shift key and slide the mouse to the left or right. Similarily, to continuously walk sideways, hold down the Control and Shift keys and slide the mouse to the left or right. To use your selected weapon, click the left mouse button.  You can do this while walking backwards or forwards or when turning. We may had geek out over it for so long because of it seeming like it was better built and there was the ship building part of it. I went over from promo to CR because that appeared to be going places even though parts of it looked somewhat like promo. Anyway, as for the question, no I really do not know of any level based space muds other then CR. Where I do see levels are in muds a lot like alterAeon. Anyway, you can try Fed2 to see if that is anything like what you are looking for. Of course that is not exzackly like any other space base muds I have seen.

Got my frater the other day along with an Atmospheric salvager. I do have to tell you this, the "atsm" command that the pack has makes viewing the map easyer. Now that I have a ftl range of 150 without having to go through the gates, what are some good areas to go salvaging. Would like to fill my cargo hull up with stuff. When I played years ago, I thought there was some kind of out of the way area where I could get debris and the like that would fill a frater. As a side note, I love the SMC command even though it feels a lot like cheeting. The hosts has to know that that command is in there, I would had thought. Been on a number of combat missions. Been mainly on difs. Trust me, difs are not the easyests to learn to gun on. Yeh, I played miriani. A while back and remembered some of the commands. Anyway, not to sure what I would do with a 1 unit storeage room of my frater.

Sorry for double posting. got my sound pack problem  straighten out, for the most part. How is the combat now days compared to how it was in years gone by? Last time I tried combat years ago, I found it troublesome and not worth soloing. Seemed like the problem was that typing in the cords every time they changed slowed things down enough to be a problem for me. Would like to go on enough combat missions to get enough points to get things that require them for ships in the like. Seemed like some things for artifact hunting and the like needed combat points, but forgot what those were.

problem with miriani sound pack

I updated to this sound pack for vipmud, and found that it is not working at all. After I log in, I get a "I don't understand this" from the mud. Looking at my logs, I see the pack is sending a "spconnect" command to the mud. What is happening here? How can I get it working? Any better packs for vipmud?

First of all, thinks for bringing this topic up. Last time I even logged in was in 2016 if my logs are correct. I left because of getting tangled up with the wrong people. It seemed like every time I went out for exploring I was followed by a battle cruiser. Let's just say that a cloaking device would had been really useful and leave it at that. I personally think that the sensor range thing is what CR got right over Miriani. Of course, interdictors makes blocking off sectors a little too easy if you ask me. If I can fly through the edge of the sector would be a nice escape. Can see using them to block me from leaving the sector via FTL though. Anyway, it is the pirates that drove me away. Personally don’t know if that has been fixed per say. Heard that the sound pack people were over on cR complaining about not being able to do as nice pack for Miriani as being done for CR. Don't recall where the problem was exzackly. Anyway, if I go back, I may not have newbie status.  Don't know now, but I thought I read somewhere if I log back into my account, I would still have my points, but nothing else seeing that it has been so long. If this is the case, I will need to pick up a weapon to deal with the beasts that come aboard with debris and I do not recall where to get that. Getting a lore would be nice too.

Bulletins is not always the best place to check for pick up places. Instead, you should use the city stat link. When you hit enter on the city stat link, use the combo box on the page to select the city that you are in. After selecting the correct city and hit select, you should do a search of the table to see has the thing that the contract tells you to pick up. Watch your table colum headers to make sure you are viewing the correct colum. Anyway, you are looking for the closest city with the contract thing to you. HTH

I am quite sure I saw this talked about on this form a few times. Anyway, what is it about this game that makes it a good game to play? Is it written in BGT? Is there any kind of video game that the developer had in mind when developing this game? It seems like, there for a while, everyone was using BGT to build games. As I recall, games using  BGT struggled to some degree when it came to network based games. Part of what I am trying to figure out is rather or not I want to even put time in to playing this one. The name itself is not drawing me to the game in question here. Matter of fact, it is some of the so called cheaters and the like that seemed to be drawn to games of this nature that is discouraging me from even trying. Of course, that can be a topic of itself per say. Yes, I know there are cheaters over on muds too. Do not be mistaken there. It is just that it seemed to be handled, most of the time, before it even reaches the form, and when it is not, it can be avoided seeing that there is lots of other muds out there to try that seemed to be handled well. In short, is this game a waste of time or should it go on my list of games that I should try some time?

That is also correct. If my memory serves me correct, it is just enough to finish the main plot if not a bit more. Awhile back, I pretty much finished all of the quests with very little problem. From what I recall, most if not all of the quests made some kind of sense. Of course, my first play through was as a warrior. At that time, that house near the fountain (the one with the library and weapons show cases and the like) seemed big.

@slj, the bose qc35II would not make a good wireless gaming headset. The Bluetooth lag is the main reason. Yes, you can turn off the noise cancelation on the bose qc35II. Other then that, I am not to sure about that mode you are talking about. Yes, you can wire the this model in to the computer, but that would defeat the wireless request here wouldn't it? LOL.

Looks interesting. Is the Bluetooth just away to get your phone's audio in to the transmitter? Just asking seeing that if you have to connect these to your PC via Bluetooth there will be lag some kind. Now the fact that these are on 2.4GHZ can be a bit of a problem seeing that that is where your wifi can be and some cordless phones too. To say that 2.4 GHZ is a bit crouded would be a bit of an understatement. I personally would be interested in these too.

When you reach 1800, about the only way I found to bring in a good amount of credits is star rescuing and that is pretty grinddy. get the mission, launch, begin, punch what you are told, land, and repete. Of course, at that rank, there are moons, and they can pretty much run themselves if you set them up right. I do not really need to add that there is not really much at that rank to do. So, I guess that it would be a really good time to RP. Anyway, things I will like to see, wellit has pretty much been said in the topic.  things like, well written areas, more exploreing, well thought crafting, and ETC. In sort, 2 through 14 pretty much explains, in others words, what my thoughts are. Needs to fill like I am in a story of some kind.

Whoever buys this game for you can supply your email address instead of theirs. Basically, one of the questions during the buying process is the email address of the person that the game is being bought for. This can be different then the email address that PayPal uses. So, you do not really need anything more than an internet connection and an email address if someone else buys it for you. Hope this helps.

I also suggest that you read the descriptions in space. This is one mud that I would even suggest using vipmud too. The main thing you do not get access to is having the map draw on your screen. the client that they offer draw the map as you move about so that any who is new to the system can is to some the dgree at the same level you are until they move around a bit. The good news is that the maps pointed out in this topic is useable enough for you to get a good idea on the layout. I basicly would have the map open in one window and the game in another so that I can figure out where something is at from a keypress if I needed to. Should I sit down and do a recording? The trading will drive you nuts unless you are fine with number crunching though.

I basicly assigned a key stroke to call a function in to play. Yes, the bigger the game the longer it may take to do that for every action, but it is mostly a copy and paste job after the code is written. you are going to have away to interup speech with sapi anyway, so why not have a function that makes the correct call for you anyway? That is from the writer side anyway. I do agree with you that it will take longer though. As a side note, it took me nore more than  lines to see if I needed to install the hook. I also check to see what screen reader was running along with storing that info so that my speech interrup funcion works. Anyway, better go before I did into what I done there.

BGT games can see jaws, but it's the the game writers that has to tell bgt to checkfor jaws and it is the game writers that has to tell BGT what to do about jaws. Here is one BGT game that should work with jaws. Also, here is the source to the game. Yes, I converted it from basic, and did not change any of the text. I thought about adding sounds or something else, but I haven't got around to it. Anyway, I took the time to make sure it works with JAWS. It is worth noting that none of the screens that came up is the stander windows screens. I just used the default includes for those who know what those are.

BGT is, per say, jaws aware. The catch is that anything that is written in BGT has to check for jaws and take the correct action when a kee is pressed. That is a little extra work and I do not know if everyone who code with bgt is willing to take that extra step. You can do that by checking with a few lines of code, but still... The few lines of code would be basicly setting up a while loop and the like. Nothing to major

Ok. I think it is time to look at the pack to see exzackly what it is doing. I would think that installing it in the usual way would work, but looking at the scripts themselves should give us some clue about what is going on here. Who knows, it might be using some file path or something else that is not exspected. Who is good at looking at these? I can look, but it may take me a bit to figure things out.

I do not recall install a this sound pack for vipmud, but awhile back I installed a vipmud soundpack for discword, but I do not recall using it and or playing discworld after installation. I personally think you should follow the installation instructions of another soundpack instead of the directions on this one. I am betting that the only difference is the name of the sound pack and the name of the folders included.first you want the scripts to go under the discworld folder which belongs in the vipmud folder in your document folder.You will find the sounds folder under this vipmud folder.In this sounds folder you will have a discworld folder. In this discworld, you will place the sounds.Beyond this, we will have to look at the soundpack. Matter of fact, I do not even know why those files were even being talked about seeing that you do not touch them at all during install of said sound pack. If you put up a link, one of us can do a walk through of installi
 ng said sound pack for you. It should be easy enough. To me, I would even go through the setting within vipmud to show you what exzackly needs to be done within vipmud to make it work. That should only require the mud name field of vipmud is set right and that is an easy enough field to fill out when saving the connection details in your connection list. HTH.

Deployed Commercial builds to Genesis Deployments increasing their overall manufacturing range. •    CE Reached the point where it could start the AI Genesis War Deployment campaign. Already taking back a planet from the ever present A.I.•    Programs like the Reward Collection Program were started giving players access to old Olympic items over time. The A.R.C Project was created.•    We celebrated our Tenth Anniversary with a month long Party, BBQ and so many giveaways I'm still looking for the kitchen sink!•    We launched the Ship Training Program. Created three new Genesis Programs thanks to the in game support of players. This in turn expanded the number of Genesis Deployments and bolstered the AI war effort.•    We expanded the 'Account Add-ons' to over 30 track-able upgrades!•    Created our First of many 'Coops Challenges' again giving away so much in the way of in game goodies my head started to spin •    The game saw the advent of the Research Academy and the Exiles Foundry replacing the outdated crystal crafting. So far allowing for 691 items to be player created.•    Nebula Service Advanced Management was added expanding the options for those using the Mining Drones.•    Project Tartarus Completed and Settlement Bunkers were added bringing a great expansion to settlements and bringing the number of settlement buildings up to 261!•    On the subject of Settlements we released the Settlement Event system. Since doing so 38,781 events have been triggered and dealt with by your settlement crew.•    During that time 381 Player made ships have been crafted and thanks to the Crazy Ivan Family 'Pimp Your Ship' business coming into being over 100 of those have since been 'pimped'.•    We added Maintenance to the Worm Hole Anchor systems to ensure that everyone can gain access to the Anchor system.One of the most impressive facts I feel is that CE now stands at 8,335 in game items with 3,360 craft-able schematics. The underlining game is basically the same as others out there. The main difference is the theme, but that doesn't really take away or add to the structure itself. It will look like all those others you talked about. One of the things that would become clear pretty quickly that leveling up becomes easier and easier as you play. Add to that, topping out can happen. There will be a point that it really will not be worth playing seeing that you have everything that is there to have. In short, there isn’t much of a difference. It may be a good introduction to these types of games to newbies, but beyond that, there really isn’t a major difference. I personally like the Australian-theme, but that’s is pretty much it…

I saw this on Legend Of Aljerer in the last few days and thought that others might want to have a looks, but I am betting that not to many will give this a second look, but I can be proven wrong. I wish someone would take this game back up and work on it. It has so much work put into it that it is a shame. Anyway, now I am wondering how I can authorized my bought copy on other computers along with what to back up to keep this game authorized. I even went out and bought myself a joystick to use for this game. Oh well, I guess I can enjoy it until I get my next computer in a few years assuming that I don’t have to reformat my system drive in the main while. The train command does not work in SC. Instead, you have to find a sim. I don't remember, but there might be one somewhere around the pilot's lounge. Once you enter the pilot's lounge, try exploring the place. As for the ground mission, genually speaking, they end by you blowing up a target. In a next, that means blow up the thing that makes the rats that comes out of that nest. As for the beginners missions that is on a plannent, it means blowing up a transmitter tower or something else depending if you are just doing target practice or cleaning the outsiders from a given area. In either case, it means typing return once you are done. As for credits, it takes awhile to get enough, but when you do, you should try doing some tesla mining. Trust me, that helps with bringing in the credits. It doesn't bring it in as fast as other muds, but it can help. With the right sound pack, and with the right things removed from your screen, you can solo beacons and the
  like. That does require some practice, and that is sort of putting it lightly. Let's see, what else to tell. Oh yes, you can use a work bench. This is one of those areas that could use some work. Anyway, the crafting system does allow you to create some vary usefull things if you have the right points, toolkit, and blueprints. Speaking of crafting and the like, you might want to go over to drydock. There might be a man to talk to. Just a hint mind you. Also, astaroid hauling can help too, but I would weight awhile before starting in on that. I would also suggest you get a phone as soon as you can get one that best fit your char. For that, I would weight until you have of 1000 credits. If you can weight until this point, you can get any phone design you like, but they kill you on the bill. Until then, use the pay phone, if you can find one, when you wish to call up someone within the mud. This is one area that I see different than other space based muds. HTH.

First of all, get a soundpack, and don't tell the hosts about it. As long as you are not doing anything thing that calls into play any scripts or micros, they really do not need to know about it. The bad there is that you will have to ask on this form for a soundpack. LOL. I could dig around to see if I still have one laying about. The next things to not do any combat at first. You will need to build up your credits so that you can recover from any losses. Get to know your alliance. Have a few drinks with them. Maybe have them take you up. Aim followed by the direction is a must when shooting. 8 is north, 6 is east, 2 is south, 4 is west, + is up, and - is down. If you think shooot is hard, just think about all the challedges of repairing. Basicly, they want you to work as a team. If a ship requires a crew of eight, it really requires a crew of eight. one to fly and track, six to aim and shoot, and one to keep things repaired, and to make sure the right power is going to the 
 right weapons. This is one gaime that I highly suggest you to read the background history on to get into the theam. In short, if you are good with RP behind the keyboard, you will do fine. This mud and Prometheus are two different muds with to different focuses. I am not to sure how best to give you the help you need.

First, I would read the game manual. Next, I would use missions one and two to learn how the different weapons of your boat work. Take the time to learn how to set up a Torpedo shot. play with the sonar and radar to learn the strengths and weaknesses of each. learn how to attack  without making noise. Remember that the strength of a U-boat is not to be seen or heard. The higher the level you play at, the higher the likelihood of you being heard or seen goes up. the user manual gives some world war II stories that you might find interesting. These stories might give you a clue on how to go about beating each mission. Hope this helps.

On the other hand, if you find the deckgun easy enough, then you may find the torps just as easy per say. Anyway, the targeting sound is ruffly the same, and I hope the recording I made works for you. It work almost like your deck gun with a major difference. The difference is that you turn your boat instead of the gun. YOu also do not need to worry about setting the range. The down side is that you have to have your sub aimed right to hit the different ships. To do that, you have to take into acount how fast the ship you are aiming at is going along with the direction that they are heading. Your goal is to set a little a head of the ship in question with your sub aim at the path that the ship is taking. if you of the doors open and you are tracking, the game will let you know when it is best to fire the torps. I guess I could let you hear me play through mission 2 if you wish.

I have Mush-z set to log me in without me having to punch in my password everytime. Of cource, I can't seem to figure out how to make mush-Z log my username and password. Of cource, I figured out how to log just about if not everything else I do within game though. Now if I can make mush-z log that in my log, then getting my password out of mush-z would not be a problem. I have a valid email address and one other alt tied to my account. I can under stand hiding that while I play the game out in public or on a public computer, but hiding it on my desktop at home where I know noone sees my screen...

I have mush-z install on my desktop. Anyway, I am trying to recall what password I used for the char I have set up in mush-z for alter aeon. I would be happy just to see the password I put in a long time ago. To me, it doesn't make sense that the password is hiddden on my home computer where noone else but me sees it.

H. A city sim would be interesting in deed. I wonder how much of it can be BGT. I suspict that one would want to use C++ or something else that will allow the creater of such a game to maximize use of computer resources. If I am remembering right from the business classes I took before I finished up at the university I went to, Size really does matter. To small you risk over working everyone on the team. you may also miss out on some really good ideas. If you have a team to big, you can easily find your self with some not pooling their weight or not enough jobs to go around. In either case, you could find your self with those who just go along to get along. those kind of people may not offer any good ideas what's so ever and may even fell to point out things that the others on the team might being missing out on. So, naturally, you need to figure out what the correct size is for the job. It seems like to me, the bigger the team, the more likely you will run into communication problems. It does look like this topic drifting a bit, but interesting none the least. I can't see where this topic goes within the next two weeks at the vary lest. As a side note, I want be back at my windows deskt
 op for the next week or two and my windows seven laptop is sluggish. So, I am typing this up on my mac. Anyway, when I am back in front of may desktop, I will go and install some of the games talked about here. Yes I some wish for more, but I will try to explore some more before complaining.

You know, that is another one I don't recall trying. As for my machine, the one I was talking about is a custem build one. Although, I do have a macbook pro with a SSD and 16 gb of ram that I do not, as of yet, have bootcamp set up on yet. LOL. I did think about going in and setting that up. The only problem is, I got to go find my windows seven disk and maybe some poor soal that is willing to read the screens to me, just in case. LOL. As for the UTF, I do wonder why it seems that noone seems to still anything from them. LOL. Overall, what can I say when there is people connected to any kind of project. Maybe human amidst be where?

LOL. I have heard that they are working on a new one, but still. your overall point is correct. At least the missals go where I want them to go. I get having to choose your target to go after, but why not have some kind of basic automated defense system in place where your ship raises the shields and returns fire. I get be able to teleport from one place to another and the ship to ship teleportation. Right, only the basics are there. Right now, I really don't see any reason to have a carrier with all the weapons and repair systems in the CR. The more I think about it, I don't even need a carrier. I could most likely get away with a custom built fighter and be just fine. Maybe the similarities is the problem with this one. I have heard that a lot of changes are being made. So, who knows how close it will  be. My problem with most space moos that I played is that fact that they are all mostly a like.

defender. By SCW, I am asuming that you mean Sarah and the Castle of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I thought that windows seven and that version of the GMA game engine didn't work right with sound, but my windows seven machine does have 16 gb of ram and a SSD. I will have to go check out paladin of thesky. Right now, my biggest problem with AA is all the grinding that I have to do to get to the main land. I guess I will have to go log into swamp again to see who all is there. Have you heard the saying, "never judge a book by its cover"? At first look, the titles of some of the games may had not been a major draw in if you get my drift. Nocturnus. Would you accept $100 in Prometheus credits? LOL. You did get me to chuckle a bit. defender. I thought that Entombed wasn't being worked on any more. I also thought that later on in the game, there was a few bugs that could drive one batty from loosing your spot in the game in the like. I played the first two or t
 hree floors of that game and it did seem pretty nice. Will it run on seven. It sounds like a stupid question I know. I will have to see about reading those books too. So far, thanks for answering my questions, as crazy as they are.

And that is what sort of makes me jealous of my sighted peers. Whoever can come out with a first person mine craft for the blind will most assuredly have my hart felt thanks for life, or something like that. LOL. As for the pocket version, I will not believe that it is accessible until I see it with my own eyes. Weight a min, I mint hear it with my own ears. LOL. As for Skyrim, I would love to see an accessible version happen, but I am just dreaming there. So far, seeing anything that is well truly epic hasn’t really happen and I really wish it would. Is there anything close that I could play? Just wondering. I guess I could grumble off into swamp and shoot up a few zombies or something... I don’t know what to put in the subject line of this topic. So, mods feel free to change it if needed. Anyway, I find myself wishing I could play games like: world of war craft, mine craft, mists, elder scrolls, monkey island, and ETC. I like the lord of the rings books, and I find the game of throne books partially interesting. It seems to me that the audio games out there don’t really fully meet all of my desires per say. I like TDV, but I only have it on my desktop and it looks like that game is no longer being sold. Swamp is OK, but has some bugs in it. Shades of doom is ok, but all that game seems to be a shoot them up kind of game. There is entombed, but that is a little buggy. Add to that, I kind of like exploring worlds via the first person perspective. Whenever I go into a game, I am not always looking to shoot up the place per say. The more I think about it, part of the fun is the journey. To me, the background music is a big part of the game. So, what about the muds you ask? I am not too sure of what would best me my requirements. SC is ok, and Miriani is clearly not among my favorites. I still have some mixed feelings about Prometheus. It does look interesting though. I played clok some and it seems so. Maybe I haven’t got far enough for it to be worth it. I also played Alter Aeon and found that I could stay with it to some degree. If I remember right, I even tried Discworld. I haven’t even got all that far in that mud. I even tried my hand at Fluxworld. I couldn’t seem to fully grasp that one. I guess that part of what I am looking for is something along the main stream as it were. Yes, there is a lot more games now that we can play than we used too. I am looking for something a little different, I guess. I am not too sure how to word this. Another thing that is worth noting, how many audio games have 5.1 surround sound? Not just that, how many really has good sound that is worth noting about? Speaking of sound, I would like to see games with adobe atmos. That would be interesting indeed. Anyway, hope this topic get people talking. LOL.

First of all, we had 64 bit processers even back in windows XP days. 32 bit version of windwos will run on 64 bit processers. The change that happen was when we went from 32 bit windows to 64 bit windows for the general computer user. Aot of people were most like running 32 bit version on a 64 bit processer back in the day of XP, but changes are good that most if not all computer now days are using 64 bit windows semplely because people want more than 4 GB of ram. As for the flight stick, I still don't know of any good sticks with force feed back. So, I picked up this one, and it seems ok for my needs. As far as I understand things, the rudder pettles does the same thing as twisting your stick. As far as I know, TDV is not currently on sell, so I really don't see alot of point on spending money on a better flightstick at this time.

I think the game is call hack, or maybe it was called hacker. I don't remeber the exzacked name. I do knot htat it was a basic program. No, it's not an audio game. It was written for the "braille lite" and the "Braille And speak" (BNS). Trust me, those were bsicly a command line interface type thing. Grant it didn't show you any command lines of any kind unless you count the commands gvien during program execution. I do think that someone did port it over to windows, but I don't know what happen to it though. If you want it bad enough, I could search my hard drives to see if I have the basic source code laying about. When I say basic, I mean the basic programming language that the braille lites used. As a side note, does anyone know what version of basic that was?

I the IPod touch has a few major difference from the IPhone. First is clearly no built in phone nor no built in connection to the cell networks. Another is no built in gps. Yes it has the maps, and yes it can guess where you at by looking at the near by wifi networks, but it has no GPS reciever built in and has to depend on apple's data base of wifi netowkr locations to tell you where you are at. Another thing it doesn't have is a built in compus. Other then those things, it is ruffly the same. The sixth gen also doesn't have the bigger screen that the IPhone 6 and 6+ has. So basicly, don't depend on the IPod touch for your gps reciever kind of things. Anyway, the IPod touch does make a good IOS gaming and music playback device. Ok ok ok, music playback is debatable depending if you wish to use ITunes to get music on to it. HTH.

I know this sounds crazy, but take your time. It can take a little while to figure out how everything works. It also takes time for you to figure out what your fighting stial is. Also, if you think you are getting surrounded, move and move fast. It is always better to take aim at a later time, and it could take a while for your ears and hands learn to work together in this game. Maybe start by just going after one zomby at first while building up to dealing with them while surrounded. One more thing, don't be afraid to die a few times. we all have. LOL. Just one more thing. No really. Have fun.

I pretty much agree with what is said here. One small correction though. The only game that I know with 5.1 surround sound is shades of doom v2.0. If all games that uses the GMA game engine uses the latest should be ok in that department. From the best I can tell, the only game that really might depend on speed in the like is TDV. Ok ok ok, TDV also uses surround sound.

That is pretty clear by reading the topic on it. I have lots of questions. For example, doesn't have alot of unfixed bugs? When will it be when the writing is worked on? What is the history? Over all, agree about the space based muds. I am more into exploration. PVP may not be as bad if, for example, firing your lasers would cause them to melt at some point, or having some thing else just a major breaking during battle. The biggest problem with some muds in question is that the bigger the ship, the better. You would think that the bigger the ship, the more unweildy the ship along with the more crew you will need. Then again, the bigger ships would be nice for exploration, but with a few catches. Does the interprize off of star trek come to mind? As for PVP, has anyone thought about the deathstar off of star wars and how it fell? To me, when it comes to PVP, the more powerful a ship is, the bigger a weakness of that ship should be.

alteraeon has to be my favorite. As for space based muds, I know that there is star conquest and miriani. Star conquest has the profile thing where you have to have a RP story line aproved before you can get beyond a point, but up side is that there is usually vary little griefing and the like. Fluxworld is interesting in deed. As for the band dark, maybe it would be going off topic by a bit by complaining about how bad miriani is or will it be because of my offer to make a bias recording of miriani. Then again, Most likely not. LOL. Anyway, I will have to give Prometheus a try at some point. I do have an interest in space based muds. I just haven't yet found the perfict one yet.

I do not know of all the different muds with soundpacks. Have you tried using the soundpacks command in miriani? How about checking the message boards? Oh yes, clients, vipmud is a good beginners client. Some like using mush, and there is or was the monkey turm client that is or was used. I hope this helps. I guess I could do a recording of setting up an account on miriani, but that is most surely  not my favorite space based mud. The last time I played it, there was to some degree some trolling and the like going on when I left. It may have changed sense then and as far as I can tell, that is more than you wanted, but if I do a recording, it will most likely be a little bias because of that factor. PSNow, please don't band me dark?

Flight sticks for Three-D Velocity

I am sure this topic has come up before, but maybe there is some new info out there... Anyway, someone has bought me a copy of Three-D Velocity, and I am wondering what sticks are best for this game and at what price. I basically want it to come as close as I can get it when it comes to flying a fighter jet. LOL. I played the demo off and on for the last few years using the keyboard to see how the game was coming along, but now that I own a license, I would like to play this game properly. I have a XBox 360 controler hooked in to my computer, but as many may know, the controls that the game wants is strangely place on the controller or not there at all. For example, the rutter control. As a side note, I may be able to make use of any tips that are not spoilers... Oh how I would love to see the PVP added too...

I made a recording of me playing level nine of sod. I had the game set to 5.1 surround sound, but... Anyway, I only got only the left and right channels. The recording does not have the center nor the back left and the back right. So, this doesn't give you all the audio. Anyway, here it is. Yes, it should show up about right in ITunes if you wish to put it in ITunes for some odd reason.

I just check today and it looks like coffeemud has been updated some time this month. One of the things that I saw that they added was something to do with ships. It seems like to me, the fact that it runs on java is a down side still.

Hmmm. I'm wondering if the sound pack in question is slowing things down a bit. The first pack I got was the 2.5 pack for vipmud and found that I hated that it did alot of text replacement. I replaced with the one that was linked to last in this topic and found it better in that reguard. True, it doesn't have the speed walks, but... The last time I was on, I was talking to someone who kept on going about over hunting in the forest. I wasplaying the part of someone who did not care all that much as long as death doesn't come. Basicly, I am playing a char that likes to be a part of the wild.

No problem. I do not know what to tell you about getting lost in the wilderness, but to get a map. I haven't made it to haiben and I am not much help there just yet. A tip I can give you though is to look around for any kind of landmarks you can remember when you leave haiben for the wilderness. You might try remembering what directions you take when you leave haiben. HTH.

I forgot where exzackly where I got it, but you can get an iron logging ax for logging. You will need one if you wish to log. Add to that, it can be used as a weapons if you must use it as such. I sent heads a rolling with mind. Not only did mine cut trees, but it also cut spines. Just saying. LOL. If you wish to mine, a pick ax may be better.

I have the VI-mode on, and it seems to be working today, as crazy as that made sound. I know I did windows update yesterday plus a jaws patch update for fifteen and that didn't seem to fix the problem then, but today it works? It seems like it wasn't working for about a week or so and now it does? Strange on my end.

I could easly make over 700 rilm foraging if I am willing to take the time. Next time I'm on, I need to take time to learn to use my ax a bit better during fighting. Then again, my first aid skill could use a little improving. Tis is a good mud, but I'm a bit lost when I am improving my char. I do not know what is the most importing when starting out.  I know to forage, but what else?
