[OSL | CCIE_Voice] what is this suppose to mean? different Codecs show up as G711 and G729 on the call parties for a call,

2008-10-22 Thread jeremy co
Hi,

suppose following scenario:

IPPHONE1 CCM--HQGK/PSTN-BR2 (CME)IPPHONE
2

I force CCM to use G729, by creating region using G729.

call coming from ip phone1 to GK via trunk from CCM and GK routes it to HQ.
HQ transfer it to PSTN and then call goes to BR2 and IPphone 2.

On IPPHONE1 -G729
on HQ ---using show call active voiceG729
on PSTN router --G711
on IPPHONE2 G711

Why I see two different codec on PSTN router and IP phone1?
How come codec changes from G729 to G711?

How can I prevent it and see G729 on IPphone2 as well?

Regards,

All - a few have asked what our default configs look like - they are the same
for every lab and have a base level of IP connectivity. This does NOT mean that
every L3 interface is necessarily created for you - some are your
responsibility to create. This goes also for L2 VLANs - they may be created -
but not applied or trunked to the router for L3 routing - again the candidate's
responsibility.

ALSO PLEASE NOTE: This configuration is based on the IP Addressing Scheme akin
to all IPexpert Voice products. Also note that these base configs are specific
to Pod 25 (so as to correlate with this posting here:
http://proctorlabs.com/forum/showflat.php?Cat=Board=VFAQNumber=23583page=0view=collapsedsb=5o=fpart=1
)- so if you are using this for your own lab please be aware that the 2nd
octet of your IP address will change depending on the Pod number you choose as
your home pod.

All, I think the issue:

This works only when the members of the hunt group are user/line. This
does not work when the hunt group uses directory numbers as members.

I had them set as directory numbers. Good info to know

their something special I am supposed to do to get this to function?

2008-10-22 Thread Ricardo Arevalo
Ok, so in this case, the call from HQ to GK is a G729 call as defined by
your region.

Then the call is routed to PSTN by the GK.

The BR2 receive tha call as G711 as default a codec and send it to any
internal phone.

All the call coming from PSTN are handled by default as G711 calls.

If you wish to purchase I have voucher codes that give you 35% off -
and you only need to purchase one license to be allowed to run many
instances - if they are one machine.

Only catch is the voucher code I generate has to be used within one
week - so unicast me if you would like one.

From what I Have been told it isn't possible, that's why IP Blue is
the preferred way to get this to work. I use the EZVPN approach to
connect to Proctorlabs and have about 2-3 PC's that I can remote

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Callmanager URL's and Directory Paths

2008-10-22 Thread Mark Snow

Unless you are using DNS - always a good idea to set to IP.
Shouldn't matter so long as the MoHDropAudioFilesHere folder exists on
the SAME machine as the the TFTP server.
However - if say the MoH Audio Xlator service is running on the Pub
and you were instructed (for whatever odd reason) to make the Sub the
TFTP server - then you would need the IP address of the Sub there
(unless you have a hosts file on the Pub with the Sub hostname and
proper IP address).

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] Configuring Voice-Card for DSPFarm

2008-10-22 Thread Kevin Porter
Quick question...when configuring the Voice-Card to act as a dspfarm, I
have seen almost all the IPExpert config's to look like this..

Voice-card 0

dspfarm

dsp services dspfarm

but, in the real world, I can not do this with a shared PVDM that is
terminating voice circuits (PRI, FXS, FXO, etc...). I have had to use
the following config:

Voice-card 0

no dspfarm

dsp services dspfarm

So, the question is this, is there anything wrong with my config that
would cause issues?

Thanks,

Kevin

 Hi Michael,

Hardware Conferencing is not supported with CCME 3.3. When you want to use
a Hardware Conferencebridge with CCME you have to use CCME Version 4.0 or
maybe higher, i don´t remember it at the moment.

2008-10-22 Thread Michael Shavrov

Scott,

Do you register the conferencing DSP to the CME on the same router? How your
configure your CME? I see thet your gateway IP address on SCCP is
142.107.66.254, but the DSP registers to the CallManager, which is
142.107.71.254. Are they on the same box? Do you register CME IP source with
Loopback interface?

Sincerely,

Mike

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] CME-CUE Transcoder Issue

2008-10-22 Thread Kevin Porter
If I place a call that is G729 to CME that is set to call-forward all to
a CUE mailbox, I can only hear the greeting and leave a message, no
problem. If an Ephone-dn or ephone-hunt forwards to CUE with either
call-forward noan, call-forward busy or forwards to another DN that is
call-forward all, the call stays connected, I see the Transcoder
connect, but I can not hear the greeting and can not leave a message.

Anybody seen this behavior before?

Thanks,

Kevin

2008-10-22 Thread Mark Snow
Conf bridge shows active in terms of registered to CUCME - but can you
start a conf call between three phones and show that the dsps are
actually 'in-use'?
I understand that you have registered it - however I don't think it
will show that the hardware dsps actually in use.

The only way to do this in CUCME 3.3 was to have 2 T1's loop back-to-
back to each other with a crossover cable, configure a bunch of
individual trunk connections (one for each channel), and then join
the multicast IP address sort-of 'listening in' on each trunk
connection. Config is basically the same as is used in LMR deployments.

Anyway - try the con-call and send us the results if you would!

Cheers,

Have you selected Wait for Far End H.245 Terminal Capability Set on H323 Trunk,
if so you may want to disable it.

Doing this scenario:
CCM -- h323trunk -- GK -- CME -- ephone OK
PSTN -- CME -- CUE OK
CCM -- h323trunk -- GK -- CME -- CUE fails
Regardless of selected codec.
Any suggestions?
