To: webmas...@openoffice.org Cc: l...@vi.openoffice.org Hello the openoffice.org webmasters, I think I have received this email by mistake. Do you mean that the following project has been locked? Could you please explain why? http://vi.openoffice.org/source/browse/vi/www/ I have to ask because I have no idea what is going on here. Other members of the vi team (and I don't) do have the write permission to the repository so I am sure that they are still reading the list - which is CC'ed. I use plain old text editor with PO syntax coloring. Poedit and Virtaal[1] are some of the tools I see others use. Lokalize is also good option if you can run KDE applications on your OS. (With pootle and other tools), how can I track how many strings, words that my vi members have translated? You can always count translated messages. If you want to know how many were translated in the past, you need to do before and after count. If you manage your PO file in version control system you can run the pocount tool on the latest and previous revision. The need raises when we need to make a report on who and how many strings has been translated by that person. A few ideas that came to mind when I read your message: * You might want to review your terminology in Pootle before you start. That way all translators will see the suggested terminology while they review the existing translations. Remember that a person with enough rights can upload a newer file or newer files in the terminology project to add more terms that you might have standardised later. Vietnamese, and probably Japanese, Korean and Chinese as well have a big problem in word segmentation that prevents pootle from making a good terminology. At least in Vietnamese, the feature suggested terminology in pootle is quite useless. We have to use an external dictionary. * If you can download the ZIP file with all PO files, you can perhaps have a look at poconflicts in the Translate Toolkit http://translate.sourceforge.net/wiki/toolkit/poconflicts Poconflicts reads all translations in multiple files and look for conflicting translations (same English but different translations). You can also reverse the testing to see if different English strings were translated with the same text (in other words, if some ambiguous translations were used). Hi all, Pootle reports/warns that some of the acronyms in po files has been used, and translated. http://pootle.sunvirtuallab.com/vi/openoffice_org/index.html?showchecks=1editing=1 I think those warnings are minor. And in our Vietnamese translation, we translate all the acronyms and ignore pootle's warning. Thanks :) Doyou mean that you would like more l10n builds before every release? With several changes to correct mistakes? Ah, that would be great also, but it is not what I mean. So let me explain a bit more with discribing the steps of our release : - we localized our versions - then Sun or Pavel build releases - the process is to provide first dev builds then RC (release candidates) - at this stage of the process (RC) each l10n or NLC team should test his release using a test process that is in place (using manuel or automated testing) - once this tests done and if successful, the version is moved to be distributed on the mirror as a *final* version. The time between two RCs are too long so I think your proposal is not good enough for testing translation. Most translators are not coders so it is not a good idea forcing them compile and test their translation after he did his work. A nightly build for OOo is not practical because it is too big. But a *weekly* build will be nice for both testers and translators. A side effect of weekly build is: test often, release often. -- Best Regards, Nguyen Hung Vu ( Nguyễn Vũ Hưng ) [EMAIL PROTECTED] , YIM: vuhung16 , Skype: vuhung16dg A brief profile: http://www.hn.is.uec.ac.jp/~vuhung/Nguyen.Vu.Hung.html

[l10n-dev] OOo 3.0 does not redraw after inserting a Floating Frame
Hi all, qa.openoffice.org seems to be dead so I post here. Summary : OOo 3.0 does not redraw after inserting a Floating Frame Environment: OOo 3.0, English version, Windows XP Sp3, Japanese version. How to produce: 1. Start OOo 3.0 writer, open any document. 2. From menu - Insert - Floating Frame 3. Insert any text in the dialog that pops up. 4. Now Atl-tab to switch to another windows ( or maximize, minimize, scroll up and down the current document). Result: Floating Frame holder is not redrawn. [l10n-dev] OOo RC/beta mirrors in Japan?
Hi all, Anyone knows if is there any mirrors for OOo RC and beta stuffs( not official releases) in Japan? Thanks! http://ftp.kddilabs.jp/office/openoffice/extended/3.0.0rc3/ At the time being, only the first 3 files are mirrored, the rest seems to be copying. What I want are *vi* files, which are at the end of `ls -1` list( order) :). So my conclusion is that downloading from the master extended site is way faster. http://ftp.jaist.ac.jp/pub/openoffice/extended/3.0.0rc3/ A little faster than kddilabs but not finished yet. -- Best Regards, Nguyen Hung Vu ( Nguyễn Vũ Hưng ) [EMAIL PROTECTED] , YIM: vuhung16 , Skype: vuhung16dg Life through a viewfinder: http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/[EMAIL PROTECTED]

2008/9/12 Clytie Siddall [EMAIL PROTECTED]: IIRC, this has been fixed as of m22. A screenshot from Clytie [2] shows that we have no problem with Vietnamese UTF-8. I am not so sure but if your language is of UTF-8, it would be OK. Note that Vietnamese is supported by Windows itself, e.g. Regional Settings are available. Khmer is not, and that in the past made a huge difference. Javier, please talk to Jim Park, developer of NSIS Unicode. I've CC'd him to this email. If it is possible to install for languages not yet supported by Windows, he would probably know. It doesn't hurt but IMO, expunge what we don't need in the code is not a bad idea. # And a lot more in: http://aoclife.ddo.jp/~vuhung/foss/src/DEV300_m29/dmake_20080904_1155.log Making: ../unxlngi6.pro/obj/include.obj ccache gcc -fmessage-length=0 -c -Os -fno-strict-aliasing -I. -I../unxlngi6.pro/inc/make_makedepend -I../inc -I../inc/pch -I../inc -I../unx/inc -I../unxlngi6.pro/inc -I. -I/home/vuhung/public_html/foss/src/DEV300_m29/solver/300/unxlngi6.pro/incdont_use_stl -I/home/vuhung/public_html/foss/src/DEV300_m29/solver/300/unxlngi6.pro/inc/external -I/home/vuhung/public_html/foss/src/DEV300_m29/solver/300/unxlngi6.pro/inc -I/home/vuhung/public_html/foss/src/DEV300_m29/solenv/unxlngi6/inc -I/home/vuhung/public_html/foss/src/DEV300_m29/solenv/inc -I/home/vuhung/public_html/foss/src/DEV300_m29/res -I/home/vuhung/public_html/foss/src/DEV300_m29/solver/300/unxlngi6.pro/incdont_use_stl -I/home/vuhung/public_html/foss/src/DEV300_m29/solenv/inc/Xp31 -I/home/vuhung/opt/j2sdk1.4.2_18/include -I/home/vuhung/opt/j2sdk1.4.2_18/include/linux -I/home/vuhung/opt/j2sdk1.4.2_18/include/native_threads/include -I/usr/include -I/home/vuhung/public_html/foss/src/DEV300_m29/solver/300/unxlngi6.pro/inc/offuh -I. -I../res -I. -pipe -mtune=pentiumpro -Wall -Wextra -Wendif-labels -DLINUX -DUNX -DVCL -DGCC -DC341 -DINTEL -DCVER=C341 -DNPTL -DGLIBC=2 -DX86 -D_PTHREADS -D_REENTRANT -DNEW_SOLAR -D_USE_NAMESPACE=1 -DSTLPORT_VERSION=400 -DHAVE_GCC_VISIBILITY_FEATURE -D__DMAKE -DUNIX -DCPPU_ENV=gcc3 -DGXX_INCLUDE_PATH=/usr/lib/gcc/i386-redhat-linux/4.1.2/../../../../include/c++/4.1.2 -DSUPD=300 -DPRODUCT -DNDEBUG -DPRODUCT_FULL -DOSL_DEBUG_LEVEL=0 -DOPTIMIZE -DCUI -DSOLAR_JAVA -DNO_X11 -DXP_PC -DHW_THREADS-o ../unxlngi6.pro/obj/include.o include.c include.c: In function 'inc_path': include.c:81: warning: implicit declaration of function 'warning1' include.c: In function 'issymbolic': include.c:243: warning: implicit declaration of function 'fatalerr' include.c: In function 'included_by': include.c:304: warning: implicit declaration of function 'warning' if ( -e ../unxlngi6.pro/obj/include.o ) touch ../unxlngi6.pro/obj/include.obj -- Making: ../unxlngi6.pro/obj/main.obj ccache gcc -fmessage-length=0 -c -Os -fno-strict-aliasing -I. -I../unxlngi6.pro/inc/make_makedepend -I../inc -I../inc/pch -I../inc -I../unx/inc -I../unxlngi6.pro/inc -I. -I/home/vuhung/public_html/foss/src/DEV300_m29/solver/300/unxlngi6.pro/incdont_use_stl -I/home/vuhung/public_html/foss/src/DEV300_m29/solver/300/unxlngi6.pro/inc/external -I/home/vuhung/public_html/foss/src/DEV300_m29/solver/300/unxlngi6.pro/inc -I/home/vuhung/public_html/foss/src/DEV300_m29/solenv/unxlngi6/inc -I/home/vuhung/public_html/foss/src/DEV300_m29/solenv/inc -I/home/vuhung/public_html/foss/src/DEV300_m29/res -I/home/vuhung/public_html/foss/src/DEV300_m29/solver/300/unxlngi6.pro/incdont_use_stl -I/home/vuhung/public_html/foss/src/DEV300_m29/solenv/inc/Xp31 -I/home/vuhung/opt/j2sdk1.4.2_18/include -I/home/vuhung/opt/j2sdk1.4.2_18/include/linux -I/home/vuhung/opt/j2sdk1.4.2_18/include/native_threads/include -I/usr/include -I/home/vuhung/public_html/foss/src/DEV300_m29/solver/300/unxlngi6.pro/inc/offuh -I. -I../res -I. -pipe -mtune=pentiumpro -Wall -Wextra -Wendif-labels -DLINUX -DUNX -DVCL -DGCC -DC341 -DINTEL -DCVER=C341 -DNPTL -DGLIBC=2 -DX86 -D_PTHREADS -D_REENTRANT -DNEW_SOLAR -D_USE_NAMESPACE=1 -DSTLPORT_VERSION=400 -DHAVE_GCC_VISIBILITY_FEATURE -D__DMAKE -DUNIX -DCPPU_ENV=gcc3 -DGXX_INCLUDE_PATH=/usr/lib/gcc/i386-redhat-linux/4.1.2/../../../../include/c++/4.1.2 -DSUPD=300 -DPRODUCT -DNDEBUG -DPRODUCT_FULL -DOSL_DEBUG_LEVEL=0 -DOPTIMIZE -DCUI -DSOLAR_JAVA -DNO_X11 -DXP_PC -DHW_THREADS-o ../unxlngi6.pro/obj/main.o main.c main.c: In function 'warning': main.c:754: warning: type of 'x1' defaults to 'int' main.c:754: warning: type of 'x2' defaults to 'int' main.c:754: warning: type of 'x3' defaults to 'int' main.c:754: warning: type of 'x4' defaults to 'int' main.c:754: warning: type of 'x5' defaults to 'int' main.c:754: warning: type of 'x6' defaults to 'int' main.c:754: warning: type of 'x7' defaults to 'int' main.c:754: warning: type of 'x8' defaults to 'int' main.c:754: warning: type of 'x9' defaults to 'int' main.c:752: warning: unused parameter 'msg' main.c:754: warning: unused parameter 'x1' main.c:754: warning: unused parameter 'x2' main.c:754: warning: unused parameter 'x3' main.c:754: warning: unused parameter 'x4' main.c:754: warning: unused parameter 'x5' main.c:754: warning: unused parameter 'x6' main.c:754: warning: unused parameter 'x7' main.c:754: warning: unused parameter 'x8' main.c:754: warning: unused parameter 'x9' /bin/sh ./libtool --tag=CC --mode=compile ccache gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I./include -I./include -D_REENTRANT -g -O2 -pedantic -W -Wformat -Wunused -Wimplicit
