I think the stutters I was experiencing probably have more to do with cpu usage being taken away from squeezeslave due to multitasking(or hitting a bad webpage) than it topping out. Bandwidth shouldn't be an issue. (unless its the pad itself... or the download throttling applies to streams? don't believe it does...) Checking top and it is inline with what you said it should be. Forgive me if I've missed something here, but I think you're trying to use a 32bit binary on a 64bit system. If you don't have the 32bit support libs loaded you probably wont get far. ( and I wouldn't suggest cluttering up your system getting those working if its just for this) There should be a 64bit binary in that package you downloaded. Give it a shot and see if it works out any better. If you have problems with that one I can send you a 64bit binary from one of my systems to try. -mm -- MusicManiac MusicManiac's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36544 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=83362 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Upon closer inspection it looks like the WebUI settings have pretty much no effect at all. This is what I'm doing: Start SQS, load a playlist, play, close SQS and wait for a few minutes or until SQS's entry disappears from the WebUI, start it again. SQS restarts from the last song being played, seemingly regardless of "power on" settings. (it does this if I set to "reset/restart playlist") Start SQS, load a playlist and play, close SQS and wait for 30 minutes give or take, restart again. SQS displays "Now Playing" and is silent. Looking at the WebUI, it shows the playlist loaded and resting on the last song played. Pressing play starts the playlist from this song onward. Tested on XP and Linux, both behave the same way. Squeezeslave for windows up to the latest you have posted - 0.9-204. An older version on linux. SBS 7.5.1 to what was the latest beta build a few days ago. Wired and Wireless interfaces. Does seem to be timeout related in one sense, but at the same time its still not responding to the settings when it hasn't "timed out" as per the first scenario. Separate issue I just noticed, the windows version chokes on flac files. Linux is fine. I tested the win version on two separate machines that otherwise play flac flawlessly via WMP/WAMP and Squeezeplay. -mm -- MusicManiac MusicManiac's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36544 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63966 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Announce: New Squeezeslave 0.9 Release available on sourceforge
Quick question, Does Squeezeslave support the "stop/play/restart/etc" on power off/on as per the WebUI settings? If I close SQS within a relatively short time-frame(enough that SBS shows it's been disconnected) and then restart it, it will obey whatever is set in the WebUI. But if I wait any good amount of time, say 30 minutes to an hour, it just stays stopped upon restarting. The playlist shows up, but it stays stopped at the last song unless manually initiated. Re: [slim] PDA-controller SlimControl 0.95
The problem of not being able to shutdown is after SC has been closed. I thought the problem might be the keep-alive or wifi option, but no combination of settings helped. I've tried with both off, both on, one or the other... same problem. The problem is still even there with starting SC then immediately closing it. With the animations I've noticed it mostly with the browser.( I actually haven't had much experience with the cover-flip - took me forever to figure out it was a swipe up motion to activate). When the animations are working its probably about 2 seconds. I'm not sure if I would say the animation is slower then that when its acting up... it tends to look choppy and hesitant but its probably still taking about the same time. I understand the cache option now. Its just when you go to find an album or artist it tends to take awhile. I was wondering if a "force cache" option would work out in the sense that you could hit the button, walk away for something, then when you get back you would have a smooth quick delay free library to browse. I guess its an option of being able to choose when one has to wait for the delay as opposed to being forced. Its alright for for me ad it is, but with a large library that's only growing and changing a lot, it takes awhile sometimes to pick a song. But as I said that's a mute point more then anything else. Thanks for looking into the sidebar, I didn't see arztde's post. I tried to search through the thread to make sure I wasn't repeating anything, and you're right, the screen space is pretty valuable. You've done a great job as it is with what you've packed in. As far as the buttons go, on the library screen its "my music, internet radio, internet service" for the first three buttons. Since the internet radio/services are second to my music collection, an option of "my music, search, favorites" or similar combination related to the library would be nice. Less clicks to the prominent options. Appreciate you getting back so quick. If I can answer anything else to help out let me know. In the mean time I'll keep poking around and playing with it. -- MusicManiac MusicManiac's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36544 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=64537 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] PDA-controller SlimControl 0.95
Hey there. First off, excellent program you're developing here. It's coming along very nicely and I look forward to future development. A few observations/questions/suggestions if thats all right. I've been testing SC on a HP Ipaq 200 series PDA. Its fairly modern unit with ~630mhz and 128ram. First big problem as of 1.30b3(which I noticed is now missing from your site), the unit will not shut off manually or go to sleep after having run SC. I'm forced to soft reset. Using SC 1.00, it shuts off fine. Performance wise, things are pretty smooth. There are a lot of times though where the animated transitions are hesitant and slow, ever after everything has been cached. Is that just the nature of it or is that something that will be tweaked later on down the road? Will it/can it be possible to have an option to adjust animation speed? Possibly also an option to disable it all together? While on performance, it would be nice to have a manually rebuild cache option in the server settings, or an additional pop up option when SC starts and detects a change. Being able to force SC to rebuild the whole cache in one go as opposed to rebuilding as you're trying to browse would be a welcome option. The 'quick scroll' A-Z sidebar in the library lists is great. I did notice though that it doesn't work at all in the album view. All the other views it works fine. It would also be nice if the sidebar was a little more finger friendly. Right now its a little hard to use with as narrow as it is. One last question, will it be possible in the future to customize the buttons? Having the buttons you use the most show up first would be nice. Thanks for your time. -- MusicManiac MusicManiac's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36544 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=64537 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
