Hello All, I am selling my K2/100 and KAT100 at Dayton. I don't want to ship this. I bought this from an estate a few years ago and really haven't done anything with it. I have for sale my K2/100, serial number 49XX, with the KPA 100 amp built into the unit, KSB2 SSB unit, K160RX with separate antenna port, KDSP2, KI02 RS232 connector and board, Heil MH2 mic, DC cable with power poles on rig end, FDIMP, all manuals, laminated info card, and a K2 Nifty mini-manual. Rig is in excellent condition, no bangs, dents marks or other damage. Has full 100W output. This is a repost of a previous sale that was not successfully completed. The buyer could not get the rig to transmit without it showing a code of Hi Refl that would not go away. He was using a manual tuner and I could not duplicate the problem with my LDG Pro II ATU. It will show that code while the ATU is tuning and power is reduced, but it goes away once a SWR match is reached and PO is up to 100 watts or whatever it is set at. I have had many US and DX QSOs with no problem at full power within the last month to test the rig. Since he was not satisfied, I refunded the purchase price. As I don't know if this is a real issue or not, I have lowered the price of the rig to account for any possible tweaking that is necessary. In light of this, I am selling the rig as is. Other than this possible issue, the RX is great and, as far as I can tell, TX is working as it should for me with the ATU. Pictures available upon request. I have 2 K2's and I've decided to sell the K2/100 and keep the K2. Here is what I have: K2/100 - serial #5163 (all latest firmware) KDSP2 - DSP unit K160RX - 160m and rx ant module KNB2 - noise blanker KSB2 - SSB unit MH2 - Hand Mic ( this is the new model just purchased in July) QRP cover with the speaker Rework eliminators for the installed optional modules (ssb, nb, 160, dsp) I have all the manuals and misc accessories. The radio has an intermittent problem in that when cycling through the bands sometimes on 160 the receive is low, cycling to 10 meters or 80 meters and then back to 160 will usually bring the rx back, sometimes it takes a couple of cycles. I had originally thought there was a problem on the rx dropping out on other bands, (see my post to the list on 7/27/07) but after taking the pa unit off and reseating the modules, etc, the only problem I find now is the 160 meter problem. I don't know if it had anything to do with the problem on the other bands, but D19 in the SEC menu was set to ON, I set it to OFF right after I checked the modules. I have not used the radio on ssb, I bought the new MH2 mic with the intention of setting it up, but I have not got around to taking the boards out to configure the mic connector on the radio with the required resistor, etc. The parts are all with the new mic, it has never been used. I was told the radio is currently configured for a Kenwood mic. I have used the radio on CW extensively and it works great. The power output ranges from 115 watts on 160 meters to about 85 watts on 10 meters. The kit prices for everything would be $1483 not including the shipping. Anyhow, K2 SN 5366 for sale composed of the following: Basic K2 SN 5366 KPA100 KSB2 K160RX KNB2 KAF2 FDIMP Unit looks new with no marks and no issues and works 100%. I am the original builder. The unit will be supplied with the QRP top, all manuals including manuals for all accessories, power cord, and Allen wrenches for removing knobs and removing the control board. I bought this as my backup K2 but really never used it except to check it out and make a few initial contacts. I am keeping my older K2, SN 4853. SN5366 has all the latest mods/firmware and includes the K2 VCO magnetic field shielding modification kit. The microphone jumpers are currently configured for a Kenwood microphone, the MC43s model. It can be reconfigured for Icom or Yaesu mics and others as well. The center of the filters has been adjusted for a 400 Hz listening sidetone as I like a low note. I have a K2/100 serial number 5020 loaded with most all options and many extras. It looks as new and works well with a couple exceptions from my viewpoint which I describe below. I recently bought it from the original builder and he did a wonderful job building it. I am selling it because I want to try something else. Here is what it consists of: K2 KPA100 (100 W module) KSB2 (SSB Module) K160RX (160M option) K60XV (60M and transverter interface) KNB2 (Noise Blanker) FDIMP (Finger Dimple) KDSP2 (Internal DSP and Clock option) KAT100-1 (external 100W tuner) MD2 (Desk Mic w/stand, very nice matching Elecraft Desk Mic) Foot switch (plugs into mic cable) Rework Eliminators ( set of 6 plug in boards) Original K2 top cover with speaker N-Gen Noise Generator XG-1 Signal Generator DL-1 Dummy Load RF Probe (from the K2 kit) Power cable for 100W operation Power cable for QRP operation Serial cable for KAT-100, (and other options/rig control) All Manuals The radio works super with the following exceptions. 1. According to my power meter the output ranges from approximately 80 watts on 10 meters to 100 watts on 160 meters. Seems like it should be more on the higher bands 2. When I key to radio with either tune or tune + display it takes a few seconds for the ALC to stabilize the output. YThis may or may not be a problem. 3. On SSB (40 and 80 meters only) with the RF/ALC meter in the RF position, the output is much higher than it should be for example up to 150W or more on 80 meters. Seems like the ALC is not kicking in. With the RF/ALC meter in the ALC position the SSB operation is normal on all bands. A check of the Elecraft reflector archives turns up the issue of high power on these bands so it is a known problem. None of this really affects the operation of the radio and during normal operation they are not noticeable but I wanted to mention them so there were no surprises. I will ship and insure the complete package US Priority Mail in the conus for $1400. Would consider a trade involving a mint Ten Tec Omni VI + with filters. Please email for more info if needed.. I have for sale a K2/100 (serial number 4486) it has the following options: SSB NB 160 meters DSP filter module MH2 mic Yaesu main tuning knob 60 meter module (still in kit form, needs to be assembled) KAT100 auto tuner all manuals, cables, etc It is in very good condition, (has two very small marks on the heatsink fins, was like that when I bought it) Also the side screws on each side of the top that screw into the PA unit need to be replaced with the Elecraft recommended replacement screws (see below) as the stock ones tend to not be long enough and will not hold after they have been removed a couple of times. Output is 100+ watts on all bands, receiver is excellent, especially with the DSP audio filter. The KAT 100 is built in the slim case and is also in excellent physical and electrical condition. Reason for selling, I found I would rather have a physically larger rig for use in the shack. I have another K2 (#315) for portable operation. New price for the kits not including the MH2 mic (or shipping) is $1672.00 $1325.00 ground shipping/insurance in the lower 48 included. Cleaning house. Selling my K2/100 SN 3525 with the following options: KSB2, K160RX, KDSP2, KAT2 in QRP lid, KIO2 in QRP lid, MH2 Heil Mike. Includes the QRP cover. $1200 shipped to you. The rig runs full 100 watts and the SSB audio is perfect. All filters have been set with Sprctrogram. No scratches or dings at all. Only problem is neither KIO2 will communicate with my computer.
