[Fink-users] KDE bundle 3.1-3
Title: KDE bundle 3.1-3 I removed my old KDE (with ssl) via sudo apt-get remove arts I was then able to successfully install bundle-kde 3.1-3. (non ssl version). I do not see a version of bundle-kde ssl other than 3.0.7-5. Nothing is listed under unstable for that package under Fink Commander. So far KDE 3.1-3 looks great. It sees CUPS, has Palm sync available, (havent tested either yet) and does not seem subject to some of the problems I had with version 3.0.7-5, including difficulty launching help, and crashes if I tried to look at system configuration. Thank you all for your hard work and support. Somewhere there is a Open Source Heaven, where Bill Gates gets to shovel coal... Regards, Mark Prazoff

[Fink-users] xmms can't open audio
I am running OSX 10.2.3 on a 17in iMac. Fink install is good. Other programs run fine under X11. Just installed xmms using Fink. Install went fine. However, when I try to play a file, I get a couple of error messages, and no audio. The errors are: Couldn't open audio. Please check that 1. You have the correct output plugin selected 2. Unlike finks older dlcompat, this dlcompat allows loading a .dylib library (as long as the RTLD_LOCAL flag isn't passed to dlopen()). It can be configured to yield a warning when trying to close it (dynamic libraries cannot be unloaded). It automatically searches for modules in several directories (taken from the environment variables DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH, plus /usr/lib and /lib) when no absolute path is specified and the module is not found in the current directory. Installation files -- Shared library called libdl placed into /usr/local/lib. The header file dlfcn.h will be placed in /usr/local/include. A Jaguar (OSX 10.2) Compliant dyld library will be installed in /usr/lib/. Usage --- Software that uses GNU autoconf will likely check for a library called libdl, that's why I named it that way. For software that doesn't find the library on its own, you must add a '-ldl' to the appropriate Makefile (or environment) variable, usually LIBS. If you installed dlcompat into a directory other than /usr/local/lib, you must tell the compiler where to find it. Add '-Lprefix/lib' to LDFLAGS (or CFLAGS) and '-Iprefix/include' to CPPFLAGS (or CFLAGS). lenny bruceI am not a comedian, [EMAIL PROTECTED] I am Lenny Bruce. --- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf ___ Fink-users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/fink-users
[Fink-users] arts-1.0.2-2 failure
I'm trying to install mplayer on a Mac running OS X 10.1.5 Dec 2001 developer tools. I'm running the latest fink updated from CVS (it claims it is fink 0.5.0a.cvs, but Dave Morrison swears it is really fink 0.4.1).
