sorry for replying to my own message, but I worked it out.

One of the nicest applications I've seen with Hal's Vf, the music and
sound
is also cool to.

I'm now going to buy the game I think, because it is cool, and I'll
probably
get the upgrade as well. It's interesting that the author also produces
a
fantasy game, if that uses a similar engine to smugler's 3 it might be
just
as good, and just as accessible.

Beware the Grue1

2008-01-12 Thread Ron Schamerhorn
Hi Michael

I'd normally not get into these issues. However Tom has said many times
over the last few days that he's switching domains. Thus we can assume
it'll be a few days until he's up and running. so just hang in there.

Thomas bad news because I ordered it at the time you put the site was back
up. Please advise what I would need to do to prove the payment was made or
if you did receive it. I sent or did the order Saturday, Janary 12, 2008
around 4:00 or so. Maybe later or earlier.

Please advise if I need to do something.

I have to ask when did you place the order? Please, please, tell me you

However, if you placed an order like a week ago you should have recieved

48 hours after payment provided of course that our emails don't get
caught up in someones spam filter or gets rejected for some reason by an
ISP's blacklist, etc. Our previous web host had several blacklists
against their servers, and ISP's were beginning to bounce all of our

Anyway, if you can give me a specific date of order we can move from
their, and try and resolve your registration issue.

Re: [Audyssey] smuglers3

2008-01-12 Thread Dark
Hi sean.

you can find it at http://www.nielsbauergames.com/index.html

It rocks! I've just bought the game and the add on (yes, I was that
impressed!). With Hal it's incredibly accessible using the virtual focus. I
can't speak for Jaws specifically, But Michael Fayer has done a pod cast on
Blind cool tech about several programs, including Smuglers 3, and he plays
it with jaws so I'd assume it is.

the game is great! I think the only space stratogy game I've seen with
backstory and plot that effects the game, and an economics system that won't
drive you up the wall, the way the systems in some games have done with me.

anyway, I've been up all night on the coke with this game ;D, and before I
crash out this morning I want to actually sit down and read the
documentation, so i'll get back to everyone later.

Oh, the only problem with the game thus far? Every time I get into a fight,
I get blone into litle attomic bits! I'm going up to read about the combat
system, or maybe I just need to spend a lot more time trading so that I can
buy the big guns shields and such. Any advice from more experienced
combatants would be appreciated ;D.

Beware the Grue!

dark.

Usually, we ship keys with in 24 to 48 hours of the purchase. However,

So, please, wait until the site is back in working condition before

[Audyssey] SAPI issue fixed

2008-01-12 Thread Zachary Kline

Hi,
I managed to fix the Sapi 5 issue by trying the procedure suggested by Sean
Mealin on this list. Thanks, Sean, it worked, though I never would have
thought it would.
In any case, I can now play AudioQuake again, and Monty, among other games.
The only downside to this situation is that I suck at AQ, at least--turns
confuse the heck out of me. But this is a topic for another message, I guess.
Thanks, all.
Yours,
Zack.

2008-01-12 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi,
Yeah, allot of it came down to simply jogging my memory. It is one of
those cases where I made the backup just in case, put it away, and since
the Vista install went smoothly I forgot about the data on that disk. I
also had invested in a portible drive at that time so I assumed all the
data I needed was on the portible drive. When I couldn't find my domain
registration information on that drive I had assumed it was lost.
My friends comment made me think about if I had any other backups which
might include that data. Bingo I remembered the dvd I had made and on a
last ditch effort decided to find it, import all my settings, and look
for any records I might have. I located what I needed, and it all came
from a simple comment.

Hi Claudio,

Hello Thomas!
I have send a mail to your post-mail in a cupple of days but i think by the
remooving of the server you have it deleted.
End quote

My mail is in flux right now so anything sent to me is not likely to
reach me until the domain updates world wide with the new dns addresses.
However, I can still read list traffic through the list archives, and I
can respond to them since Raul has so nicely let me use his smtp server
until things get straitened out.

Quote
1. You have whrote, that you can send mee tutorials for using sounds in
yava.
Why you wand send mee tutorials for that?
End quote

Keep in mind I was getting several requests for help in Java. I'm not
sure what happened, but I thought you had asked me for tootorials or
documentation on loading and playing sounds in Java. It comes down to a
simple case of confusion.

quote
First, the Yava-language that you use works not on mobile fones.
End quote

Let me try and explain this a little clearer. There is only one Java
language. The same Java used for writing applications for Mac, Linux,
and Windows is the same Java language used to program applications for
cell phones. The difference is that a cell phone requires a different
runtime library set, J2ME, which is a different package and class
structure from the Java ruhntime library, J2SE, used on operating
systems for the PC.
It is not impossible to make a version of Raceway for a cell phone,
because the language is the same. However, it is impractical, because I
have to rewrite portions of the game to specifically target J2ME for
your cell phone, and I have already said I don't even own a cell phone
so can't even test the game if I did write it.

Quote
2. I have whrote the question:
Can i use raceway on a mobile fone?
And you have ansvered:
Yes, i can do so.
End quote

Sigh, I meant that it was possible. Not that it was practical or that
I'd want to take the time in doing so. There is a difference in if I can
do something, and if I am willing to do something. Big, big, big difference.

Hi Michael,
If you want to get Sarah you must email her directly and ask her for a date.
If you want the Sarah game registration, it depends on how you order and
what information you supply.
The quickest is to use the Draconis shopping cart and supply your 4 digit
users code in the memo field.
This can take between 2 and 3 days.
If you order using the built in gizzard it could take a week or more.
This assumes Draconis, PCS and GMA are not on vacation.

Re: [Audyssey] At wits end with Sapi 5 and games

2008-01-12 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Zak,

Quote
I'm at my limit with Sapi 5 and games of any description. I don't know why,
but it seems that almost spontaniously Sapi5 voices on the whole just
stopped working.
End quote

I've done allot of research into this specific issue, and in every case
I have discovered it is caused by someone installing a third party tts
engine that isn't fully compatible with the end users Sapi 5 version. In
one particular case one Monte end user installed Cepstral, didn't like
the voice, uninstalled Cepstral and Sapi 5 totally stopped operating.
Either it pulled something critical out of the Sapi install or left it
in some state of incompatible configured state I couldn't say. What I
can say was I had to talk the end user into restoring a Windows XP
restore point to go way back before Cepstral was installed to fix said
issue. So with Sapi 5 before installing any third party Sapi voice make
a restore point.

Quote
This causes a great deal of annoyance: I can
still use Elloquence for speech with Window-Eyes, but none of the games
which use Sapi--Montezuma's Revenge, any of the Blind Gamers series from
Spoonbill Software, etc. will work.
End quote

This is like comparing apples and oranges. Eloquence is not a Sapi 5
speech engine. the Windows version is based on a Sapi 4 engine. So
whatever is effecting Sapi 5 voices has no effect on Eloquence.

Quote
In the Control Panel, I've investigated and found that none of the speech
voices
will preview. "This voice cannot be played. Please try selecting another
voice or a different output device." I've tried
that, and neither seems to fix anything.
End quote

Yep. Sapi 5 is really screwed. You either need to do a complete MS Sapi
5.1 installation, or use a Windows restore point to fix this problem.

Quote
I've ran innumerable
repair tools, tried deleting the user lexicon file, nothing seems to work.
Any ideas on what might be causing this?
End quote

Without more details on how Sapi 5 got into that condition it is hard to
say. All I do know you are not alone, and I have decided to drop Sapi 5
support in my newer games for this exact reason. I have spent more
technical support on Sapi 5 alone than I have in game bugs. Which I have
had not more than one case where my game got accused for crashing when I
later discovered Sapi 5.x had died on the end users system.

Re: [Audyssey] how long does it take?

2008-01-12 Thread Phil Vlasak
Hi Michael,
If you want to get Sarah you must email her directly and ask her for a date.

Re: [Audyssey] Raceway in python or java

2008-01-12 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi,

Quote
You completely misunderstood Thomas, he definitely said that at this stage
he can't develop a version of raceway to work on mobile phones, that's
another kind of java used for mobile phones and at this stage Thomas don't
have the resources and time to work on it.
End quote

Actually, it is not a different Java programming language but a
different software development kit. Non-programmers might not understand
the difference, but there is still a distinction.
For example, for Windows there are three different development kits for
playing audio. There is OpenAL, DirectX, and SDL. If you were writing
some program in C++ the programming language would not change. What
changes is the dll files you use to play your audio. If you were doing
Directsound the lib file is dsound.dll and in sdl it is libsdl.dll. The
programming code required to support those dll files is totally
different, but the language is the same.
The same applies to this issue with Java on a cell phone. Java is Java
no matter what. The difference is that there are different packages
required for writing some apps for cell phones. A java package is
basically a jar file of classes arranged into a library similar to
typical Windows dll libraries. Though Java's packages are much more
powerful than a simple dll library.
I hope this kind of explains the issue here.

yeah I have done that before, its anoying.
Although most of the info and disks are coman for all systems here there are a
few that are only for the server and these are away way way away somewhere.
Now when they are needed like when there is an actual need it means hunting
round in cupboards.
one of the things is the 128mb usb ledtech drive for the win98 remote non
network unit I use for some linux and loan out to family that require systems.
it gets lost a load.
Now though the stuff is on my external drive.

Re: [Audyssey] smuglers 3 missions trouble

2008-01-12 Thread Dark
sorry for replying to my own message, but I worked it out.

One of the nicest applications I've seen with Hal's Vf, the music and sound
is also cool to.

I'm now going to buy the game I think, because it is cool, and I'll probably
get the upgrade as well. It's interesting that the author also produces a
fantasy game, if that uses a similar engine to smugler's 3 it might be just
as good, and just as accessible.

Beware the Grue1

Re: [Audyssey] Raceway in python or java

2008-01-12 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Claudio,

Quote

Re: [Audyssey] Recording games with Goldwave?

No. I mean you have to change it in the Windows volume control applet as
well as making sure GW is setup correctly. However, setting this up is
border line off topic. My suggestion to you is to perhaps subscribe to
pc-audio at www.pc-audio.org and read their archives or ask there.

Subject: [Audyssey] At wits End with Sapi 5 and Games

Hi,
I'm at my limit with Sapi 5 and games of any description. I don't know why,
but it seems that almost spontaniously Sapi5 voices on the whole just
stopped working. This causes a great deal of annoyance: I can
still use Elloquence for speech with Window-Eyes, but none of the games
which use Sapi--Montezuma's Revenge, any of the Blind Gamers series from
Spoonbill Software, etc. will work.
In the Control Panel, I've investigated and found that none of the speech
voices
will preview. "This voice cannot be played. Please try selecting another
voice or a different output device." I've tried
that, and neither seems to fix anything.
I've ran innumerable
repair tools, tried deleting the user lexicon file, nothing seems to work.
Any ideas on what might be causing this?
Thanks much,
Zack.

[Audyssey] smuglers 3 missions trouble

2008-01-12 Thread Dark
Hi.

I'm just mucking about with smuglers 3, and thus far I like (with my current
volume settings I actually rather like the music), however I'm having a bit of
trouble accepting my first mission. I've travled betwene different planets and
traded goods, and communicated with several ships, but for some weerd reason I
can't take on missions, after I've selected one I just press the button and
nothing happens. do I need to do something like highering a crew or buying
specific equipment for my ship first?

appologies if this is a stupid question, i'm stil learning the game thus far.

Beware the Grue!

Dark.

[Audyssey] Sryth: Runes

2008-01-12 Thread acarthon
Hi list,
I have just completed the Final Runeskin scenario, and I am selecting the
runes. I am wondering if anyone knows if the runes with the eye and hand
have any special powers or effects on your character?
I chose the following runes.
destruction, restoration, weaponry, arcana, illusion, and necromancy.
I didn't save my game as recommended by the GameMaster just in case I
need to do something different.
Thanks for any advice.

Hi,
I've tried looking around the Usagames site, and had no luck with it. I
did, however, find a file called deluserlex
exe from the folks at GW Micro. This didn't help either, obviously.
Thanks for the suggestion,

Hello Claudio
I am not thomas but I can answer one of your questions.
You completely misunderstood Thomas, he definitely said that at this stage
he can't develop a version of raceway to work on mobile phones, that's
another kind of java used for mobile phones and at this stage Thomas don't
have the resources and time to work on it.

Hello Thomas!
I have send a mail to your post-mail in a cupple of days but i think by the
remooving of the server you have it deleted.
Now, i post my questions here:
1. You have whrote, that you can send mee tutorials for using sounds in
yava.
Why you wand send mee tutorials for that?
First, the Yava-language that you use works not on mobile fones.
And second, if i know how to use sound in yava, i can't program games.
2. I have whrote the question:
Can i use raceway on a mobile fone?
And you have ansvered:
Yes, i can do so.

Now my ansver:
If you wand make raceway for a mobile fone you need a year more for
programming that.

Your ansver now:
I can send you a tutorial that will explayn how to use sound in
yava-programs.

I don't understand what a tutorial for using sounds in yava will help mee.
Can you explayn that please?
Regards, Claudio.

[Audyssey] the sweet shop in sarah

2008-01-12 Thread nicol
I think I figured out the trap door to the sweet shop. Only some time after
sarah enters the basement does the sweet shop opens and then the trap door
is open. So when sarah is unable to get into the trap door its simply
because the sweet shop haven't opened yet.
There is something about the caretaker I can't understand.
As far as I understand the harry potter books filch is only a caretaker, he
cannot perform magic, he cannot aparate.
What I have done, I have saved my game often while in the sweet shop, that
second when the woman said: sorry we are closing, I immediately pressed a
for aparate.
But filch captured me in any case. This is not suppose to happen.
If the woman says: sorry we are closing gamers should have that 2 second
chance, note I say only a 2 second chance to aparate.
And if filch could not aparate in the books then he is not suppose to be
able to aparate in the game.
Filch is only suppose to capture sarah if he catches sarah on the same spot
as where he is.
For example if sarah is 5 feet away from him in the owlery or on the ground
floor or in the headmaster's office then he should catch her but he
shouldn't be able to aparate. If I misunderstood the books, if filch
aparated in the books, then it makes more sense that he can aparate in the
game.
How is it that filch can never get hold of sarah while she is on her broom
but only in the sweet shop? this doesn't make sense.
The function that triggers when the 10 minutes is up, if sarah then tries
to get on her broom or if she is already on her broom, the game should cause
her to fall off her broom and then filch can capture her.
It isn't realistic for filch to capture sarah while she is on her broom in
the sweet shop, but everywhere else he can't get her while on her broom.
When the 10 minutes is up, she should rather fall off her broom.
Or another alternative is, filch should bring a bludger with him to the
sweet shop, and then the bludger will knock her off her broom and then filch
can capture her.
But I feel very strong about it that gamers should have a 2 second chance to
aparate, and I mean it, literally 2 seconds is enough.
Because this is what happened.
1. the lady said: sorry we are closing.
2. I pressed the letter a.
3. sarah said: destination, determination, deliberation.
4. I pressed w, sarah says broom cupboard.
5. filch captures her.
So sarah aparated to the broom cupboard, there is enough proof that she is
indeed in the broom cupboard but filch still captures her.
Its computer code that doesn't correspond with how filch operated in the
books.
If phil disagrees with the 2 second chance to aparate, rather then disable
sarah to aparate at that moment.
In other words, if the lady says: sorry we are closing and the gamer tries
to aparate, sarah should make that same clap sound as when her aparate
spells is up.
Then its more realistic, then it corresponds better with the books.

[Audyssey] Raceway with python or yava

2008-01-12 Thread Claudio

2008-01-12 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Nicol,
True, but if you are running low on them I probably don't want to waist
one if i don't have to. For example in my last game I had only 2 charms
left. I didn't want to use either of them until I had to, and I was
really ticked I had to use one of them for no reason. Er, rather just to
plug a bug in the game.

Re: [Audyssey] using tts with multiplatform games,

2008-01-12 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Leonard,
First, it might be helpful to know exactly what programming language you
are using to create your games with. Different languages have various
degrees of support for tts engines.
For example, the FreeTTS project is native to java and can easily be
integrated into any Java applications, and is multiplatform. However,
several users dislike FreeTTS because it sounds to robotic.
If you want to support Sapi 5 TTS Engines under Java there is a
commercial sdk written in Java which will allow you to use any Sapi 5
engine on the market, Cepstral, Microsoft Sapi, Scansoft, etc but it
isn't cheap.
If you want to support the voices for Mac os that is yet another sdk and
different interface for Java.
So the short answer is with Java there is no easy interface to the high
quality voices unlessyou want to spend money and target operating
specific voices and engines.
With Python you would basically have to write a wrapper class for every
platform you want to support. For example, one for Sapi 5 for Windows,
one for Gnome-Speech under Linux, and one for the Apple TTS under Mac.
Again no simple solution to what you are asking.
In C++ you can pretty much access all of the same TTS Engines as with
Python and Java, but you will have to write your code in such a way to
support multiple tts speech systems. There is no clear standard for
supporting tts cross platform unless you actually buy a developer kit
from a company like Cepstral or Fonix.
For example, if you purchase the Cepstral developers kits for Mac,
Windows, and Linux you are going to get some really nice voices to ship
with your games, a common interface, but will lose money when it comes
time to sell your games. If you are planning on free games not going to
happen unless you are willing to settle for espeak or FreeTTS or
Festival.. In that case you should use pre-recorded speech and make do
with that.
Although, I use espeak under Linux and I rather like the voice. A bit
robotic, but it runs fast and responsive under Linux which is more than
I can say for Dectalk, Cepstral, and the other commercial voices I have
used.
Hth.

Re: [Audyssey] peeves in sarah

2008-01-12 Thread nicol
Of course score competition will make the game more challenging.
If I see someone else' score higher than me, it's a challenge to beat that
person. If I only have to beat my own scores all the time, there isn't the
challenge of beating another human.

Shouldn't the challenge of the game be to score as high as possible and to
avoid ghost and poltergeist contact? While score competition would be nice,
I don't think it is necessary to enjoy the game.

Hi,
Honestly, I have to disagree. I wouldn't mind Peeves steeling things so
much if it worked correctly. However, as it is Peeves steelings things
does not work correctly in patch 4. The Head Master's office is a
classic example where you can be assaulted by Peeves while you can stand
there, like a statue, and do nothing about it.
While I really like the Sarah game I do not like Peeves steeling things
when I am not able to move. It is something I absolutely dislike about
the game.

Re: [Audyssey] peeves in sarah

2008-01-12 Thread Charles Rivard
Shouldn't the challenge of the game be to score as high as possible and to
avoid ghost and poltergeist contact? While score competition would be nice,
I don't think it is necessary to enjoy the game.

Hi Phil,
Ah, I always wondered why your domain was changed. Now,I know, and may
have to do something similar. I am fairly certain I can get the domain
back, but it is going to be a nightmare and lots of time to do.

Re: [Audyssey] Recording games with Goldwave?

Hi Ari,
I always set up the recording device in the Windows volume control.
Under Vista it is a bit trickier, but under XP setting up the device
with the Volume Control is very strait forward.

Re: [Audyssey] peeves in sarah

2008-01-12 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi,
Honestly, I have to disagree.
It is something I absolutely dislike about
the game.

[Audyssey] the whiz bangs in sarah is not working

2008-01-12 Thread nicol
I've tried several times to scare peeves with the whiz bangs but it doesn't
scare him at all.
For instance, now I'm in front of the trophy room, I open the door, peeves
is 70 feet ahead of me.
I open a crate, the fireworks makes a noise but peeves is coming closer to
me, I open a second crate of fireworks and just after the noise of the
fireworks I hear how peeves touches me. I've also tried the fireworks on
nick but he just comes closer to me despite the noise of the fireworks.
Which ghosts can I scare with those fireworks if I cannot scare away peeves
and nick?

[Audyssey] peeves in sarah

2008-01-12 Thread nicol
HI phil
In the next patch, have you kept the peeves stealing function enabled?
The more challenge there is in the game the better. If peeves only take a
bit of my energy each time, its not enough challenge.
If the sarah game had a score board system where gamers could compete with
each other who had the most energy left, then its ok because then I know I
shouldn't allow peeves to touch me, I should avoid contact with a ghost as
much as possible, but now that I can't compete with other gamers, its not
enough challenge for me if ghosts only take some energy.
So if there is the danger of peeves stealing my stuff I know I have to be
carefull for peeves and use my patronuses when its only needed.
And also the nice challenge of finding stuff peeves have stolen.

[Audyssey] problem with the speaker placement function in sarah

2008-01-12 Thread nicol
I know how to remap keys so that I don't press c per accident but I often
need to check the positions of my headphones as sometimes I put the
headphones the wrong way in my ears.
I use those little ear buds.
Sometimes the speaker placement works correctly but sometimes if I press c,
susan says: speaker placement and then she says nothing further, then sarah
is jammed inside a wall.
Pressing w tells me sarah is in a classroom, so my only way is either to
load a saved game or to aparate.
Please could you fix this?

Re: [Audyssey] Recording games with Goldwave?

2008-01-12 Thread Raul A. Gallegos
You will have to change the recording source from microphone to sound
mixer. If you have a creative card, it's usually called "What you hear"
Once you do this, from the playback volume controls, you will have to
unmute the microphone. Now all windows sounds, game sounds, and
microphone sounds will be recorded. As far as where to upload them to,
you will need to get a web host or a friend to host the files for you.
Of course you can always take your chances with one of the large file
sending outfits like sendspace, but I tend not to trust them.

Good luck.

[Audyssey] USA Games Progress Report.

2008-01-12 Thread Thomas Ward
Hello everyone,
I am back on the list temperarily. I say temperarily, because I am
having issues getting ahold of my usagames.us domain. When I registered
that domain I had all the account information on my old desktop
computer, and that desktop died during the move from Coshocton to
Millersburg last year. Since I no longer have access to that information
the registrar doesn't want to release the domain to me, and I am having
to file a proof of identity clame with the domain registrar to regain
ownership of usagames.us. This could be a rather lengthy and painful
process since I have to make copies of various legal documents
including my state ID and fax it to their offices. Then, wait for them
to approve the transfer back to me, and then another 72 hours for it to
propigate to my new web host. Simply put, this is a nightmare.
I've looked through the archives to see what has been happening on the
list in my absense and I saw a few posts about the usagames.us web site.
All i can tell you is I have taken down the web site for the time being
while it is being transfered. I did however put up one of those web
pages that states the web site is down for maintenence purposes
notifications rather than ending up on a blank page.
Cheers.

In addition, can someone give me some hints as to how the combat system
works? I really can't work it out!! A lot of the time I keep getting
destroyed. Even by ships that are smaller than me. But I'm very addicted

 Thanks phil.
Please also enable the bad medicine to also affect the trolls.
If I drop the nimbus broom all 3 brooms lie on the floor, if I use
 achio
 or
if I walk away and come back sarah picks up all 3, I can't just pick
 up
 one.

 Hi Nicol,
You can get rid of the apparator's license since it is there only for
 show.
The headless hats will be fixed in the next patch but the ones in your
inventory do not work so drop them too.
Drop the bad candy and medicine and eat the good candy.
You only need one broom so pick the best one.
And use the crates of fireworks when a ghost is getting close, it will
 chase
 them away.
in the next patch the bad candy will affect all the trolls.
 Phil

Yup I found that out later lol. Another question. My system I was in got

that. I god destroyed in the meantime, so I'm ok. But what happens if

Hmm, it works fine for me. Are you clicking on the right load button?
The
save button is above the slot you're trying to save it under, so if you
went
to the save button below the number 1 slot, your game is saved in the
number
2 slot.

2008-01-12 Thread Bryan
Isn't it supposed to actually kill it? The crowing of the rooster is said to
be fatal to a Basilisk. But I noticed that myself. It would make its dying
sound or whatever and then still be there.
Time is an illusion, lunchtime doubly so.

2008-01-12 Thread Phil Vlasak
Hi Nicol,
Now that is disappointing.
After I add something like the fake wand I try it out to make sure it works.
Once it works I assume it will still work,
I do not know why it does not work.
I will check the distance you need to be from the basilisk but I think I set
the wand to work if you are within 30 feet.

[Audyssey] the baselisck in sarah

2008-01-12 Thread nicol
S
P
O
I
L
E
R
I visited the chamber of secrets without the sword. I use dup all my
patronoses in the dungeons so going to the headmaster's tower to get the
sword will cause peeves to steal my items.
The fake wand doesn't scare the baselisck. If I'm near the baselisck and I
activate the fake wand, the rooster crows and the baselisk make a sound but
it doesn't flee.
After the rooster crowed, I walked forward and the baselisk ate me.
I think what is happening, the baselisk doesn't physically kill sarah, he
just takes all sarah's magical energy away, so the moment sarah looses all
her magical energy filch knows about it and aparates to where she is and
captures her.
The only instance when filch does not capture sarah if all her energy is
gone is when a boggart kisses her, I haven't been to the forest yet, I
don't know if a real dementor will kill sarah.
But I can hear how the baselisk chews something, I don't know what, but if
sarah was dead the caretaker wouldn't have captured her.

2008-01-12 Thread Phil Vlasak
Hi Nicol,
That is strange as when I hit d on three brooms in my inventory only one
drops.
I can go back and I now have two in my inventory.
I can not fix a bug that I can not reproduce.

you bring up the trade menu to buy and sell things, the way it works, is
you
got a list of things, the lower the number the lower the cost is to buy,
for
instance on one planet robots may only cost as little as 3 credits, so
you
buy them depending on how much room you have, then the next planet may
be
selling them for 200 credits so you just sell them for the biggest
profit. using hal to play, you hit the space bar on a product, then you
just hit the
buy button.
same as everything else you have to select it with the space bar, did
try it
with jaws, but had no luck in figuring it out.
people with hal, just use virtual focus and make sure you have focus
lock
turned on, this way you will stay in vf.

Re: [Audyssey] getting rid of unnecesary items in myinventoryinsarah

2008-01-12 Thread nicol
Hi phil
I have tried it. It doesn't work like that.
If I drop a nimbus broom I walk a few feet away from it, now I open up my
inventory again but there is no nimbus broom in my inventory.
Now if I walk back sarah picks those 3 brooms up together, so it appears
like each time you pick up a nimbus they are tied to the ones you already
have in your inventory.
ON the other hand I cannot avoid picking up nimbus brooms because they give
sarah magical energy.
As for the goblin, I strongly feel the goblin should be on each floor, not
just the ground floor and basement, it will add more challenge to the game
if the goblin is everywhere in the castle.

Hi Nicol,
In dropping brooms I usually drop one then move 5 feet then drop the next.
Although there are broom cupboards, you can actually drop anything anywhere
and nothing will pick it up.
The only one who takes things is Peeves but he does not pick up items from
the floor, only from your pockets.
The goblin grabs your money bag and empties it but he is only on the ground
floor and basement levels.

The walk through only says that the bad medicine takes away energy, only the

In the next patch the sleeping potion will be valuable in speeding up the

[Audyssey] Recording games with Goldwave?

2008-01-12 Thread ari
Hi all,
I've started using Goldwave to do recordings, I want to record a review of
myself playing Showdown, Duck Hunt and the 7128 gamebook, but be able to
talk at the same time. My first problem is that GW only is recording what I
am saying into the microphone, how can I get it also to record the games and
what comes from my sound card, as well as the microphone? Then, when I have
recorded my reviews, where to can I upload it?
Thanks
Ari

Re: [Audyssey] smugglers3?

2008-01-12 Thread Darren Harris
hi all,

Just to let you know. Lol firstly I've bought the game. Secondly, I've
found out how to turn the music off. There's an option in the options
menu. It's the protected music option. Click it. Then click on back to
game. Then should you wish go out of the game and back in. then you'll
have the game without any sound affects.

you bring up the trade menu to buy and sell things, the way it works, is
you
got a list of things, the lower the number the lower the cost is to buy,
for
instance on one planet robots may only cost as little as 3 credits, so
you
buy them depending on how much room you have, then the next planet may
be
selling them for 200 credits so you just sell them for the biggest
profit. using hal to play, you hit the space bar on a product, then you
just hit the
buy button.
same as everything else you have to select it with the space bar, did
try it
with jaws, but had no luck in figuring it out.
people with hal, just use virtual focus and make sure you have focus
lock
turned on, this way you will stay in vf.
