Re: [Goanet] Merry Christmas - from GWS - Nairobi, Kenya
On 23 Dec 2011, at 09:35, Goan Welfare Society Nairobi wrote: Dear GWS Members, Wow!!! the year has flown by and now it is time to say good-bye to 2011. The GWS Chairman Management Committee would like to wish all the Members, friends and associates of the Goan Welfare Society a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Peaceful and Prosperous New Year, 2012, we thank you for the support you have so generously accorded us over the year. The Chairman and his enthusiastic team have kept you updated with news, organised functions and ensured those that mattered most to the GWS, namely the widowed and elderly were taken cared off. This started off with the Senior's Day organised by Marilyn Miranda and her super fabulous team, held on 7th August, 2011. The senior citizens were thoroughly spoilt for food, music, prizes for the various games organised and left with goodie bags - one would envy. On the same day, the fundraising team, headed by Sheila Lobo and her sub-committee, got the ball rolling with the Car Boot Sale. The event was a roaring success, being the first, with over 20 cars, and this realised a net profit of KShs.:48,000.00. Still keeping the party mood on, the Goa Day celebrations started with the Family Football Tournament, which saw various villages battle for the top position. The children weaved their way through their Mums but at the end of the day, Mums always know best! The celebrations were held on 22nd August, 2011, which also proved to be a success. The people were treated to an authentic Goan luncheon, palm tree deco and pulsating Goan and international music. The young and the old graced the occasion dressed in sari which prominently portrayed their pride at being Goan. The luncheon function ended into the late evening. The youngsters could not get enough of the music. The Anniversary of the GWS on 13th October, 2011, was celebrated with a Mass at St. Jude's Chapel followed by a get-together in the church compound. Being the feast of St. Jude, the usual congregation were impressed to note that we spared precious time to be thankful for what we have achieved. There was plenty to eat and drink. Hot coffee and tea were welcomed as the evening began to be chilly. The highlight of the year was the annual football tournament headed by our ever hard working fund raising committee Sheila Lobo. This time, her team exceeded beyond excel. We had over 18 corporates -old and new - taking part. Towards the end of the day the rains came the spectators were treated to uncanny moves as the games went on until a winner was got. This 4th Annual Football Tournament, our major fund raiser, realised its target of one million Kenya Shillings, net profit. The GWS has purchased two- three bed roomed flats in Thika, known as the Flame Tree Project. A nice asset to fall on when hard time come knocking by. As we end our year, you are kindly requested to send your individual and family voluntary annual contribution for the welfare cases, if you have not done so. Currently we are assisting a cancer patient, with chemo session. Your generous contributions towards this case will be sincerely appreciated Once again, on behalf of the GWS, the Chairman and Management Committee would like to thank each and every member of the GWS for supporting us this year, whether small or big, a kind word or a critic, we have learnt from you and appreciate your advice. Thank you. For and on behalf of the GWS, Nita Coelho Hon. Gen. Secretary 000 Great things are achieved when Goans come together !! Although younger age I spent with compliments of season, without knowing its actual meaning, now I find it strange that people do wish each other only one the first day. Seems the joy of the birth of Jesus lasts only for 24 hours, when people have waited for it for eons. I feel the Christmas season has become so commercialized that we have forgotten what waiting for Jesus was in reality, and that can be found only on Simeon’s face when Jesus was taken to the temple. In the book of Luke Chapter 2: 25 Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. 26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ. 27 And inspired by the Spirit he came into the temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the law, 28 he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said, 29 Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word; 30 for mine eyes have seen thy salvation 31 which thou hast prepared in the presence of all peoples, 32 a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to thy people Israel. Very well said and I concur with you.The law of the land has to be respected and adhered to.The 10.pm timing is good and justified. As kids we have suffered enough ,as the full moon parties on Calangute beach would go up to 5am in the morning. All my neighbours may not have any regrets though, as these hippie parties helped the tourism boom of the 70's/80's due to which they are economically well off today. The very same neighbours who did not have proper toilets and would sit in the bushes to answer nature's call. The very same fishermen who had to sell their fish to enable them to buy a bag of rice and most of the time have curry without fish init (saurak).Today they not only have their own toilet , but their own Toyota car too. Had a quick phone call to Candolim neighbours yesterday who are living within a few meters to the venue.Causually asking if the Music is not disturbing them and if anyone complained about it.I was told Are Baba,Why would anyone complain ? The organizers were expecting 20,000 people ,but nearly 30,000 people have turned up for the event. People who have been letting their rooms out for Rs 600 a night have hiked their prices to Rs 4,000 a night for this week. All our neighbours are returning home only at 6am in the morning ,as business for the shacks and stalls is booming. They are making as much money in one night ,as the amount they will make in a month. We are slowly trying to get rid of the mining industry in Goa which employs a major chunk of the Goan populace. When this happens , people will need alternative jobs.I think tourism is the only industry in Goa that can accommodate such a large workforce. So lets not destroy what we already have. The number of European tourists are falling every year, as they are taking to alternative destinations in South east Asia.By just saying 'Stop Minning in Goa' wont help, people need alternative means of livelihood. At the same time the organizers/tourism promoters should respect the sentiments of the local populace and uphold the law of the land. Last week , Titos blocking access to a public road to help with their event in Calangute was in bad taste.Which led to blocking of traffic for 3 whole hours , led by former sarpanch Joshep Seiquera. If the 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. timing and the rule of the land is followed than it is indeed a victory for Goa and thanks to people like Floriano Lobo for keeping a tab on the activities of these people and bringing them to the notice of the authorities. Cheers Benedict 2010/12/28 floriano Dear Salus et al, I have said exactly that. That the authorities need to be kept in check most often. If this is missing, then it is all out advantage to the pushers and go getters. As a member of the NP committee, I, along with other committee members have strongly objected to any outdoor venues going beyond 10.00 p.m. Because this is the LAW endorsed by the Supreme Court of India. If at all any venue needs to operate beyond 10 p.m. it has to be 'double door- sound proofed' venue which can operate 365 x 24 hours with no concern to anyone at all. The organizers of the SUNBURN has accepted this formula and that is why this time over it is operating from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. And the authorities are keeping an eye on these timings. Is it not a victory for GOA?? Every one who wants to enjoy good music can do so with abandon, and more and everyone who wants to have a quiet evening and restful night can do so with abandon too.

Re: [Goanet] MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ONE AND ALL
Thanks Floriano, So what exactly are you trying to tell us all with your long message? That the authorities have failed in some way or another? Getting back to my message, if the authorities have failed you, target them and NOT THE MUSIC LOVING PEOPLE OF GOA. Regards Salus From: floriano Compliments of the SEASON to you, Dear Salus. I see that you are peeked by my post on the SUNBURN Festival at Candolim Beach. The High Court of Bombay at Goa, with its concerns for the lay citizens being disturbed by loud music noise pollution has seen it fit to include those people on the committee who have been wanting governments and its agencies to implement the laws, rules and regulations in force on a consistent basis with track records. And there are people like myself who would not bother a wee bit if not elected (party) but will want the governments in place to do their jobs. Laws, rules and regulations are put in place because people like myself see, through their qualified objections, that these are put in place. Every one is equal in the eyes of the law. The ideal thing that will happen if the laws of the land are implemented to the crossing of the 'Ts' and dotting of the 'Is' is that those who want to enjoy, make money, be prosperous will enjoy, make money and be prosperous but those who don't, their rights to be left alone in peace will be guaranteed. When this becomes one sided, the other side protests, agitates and demands that their rights be given to them. And this erases most of the lethargies in the implementation of the Laws rules and regulations in existence, and also helps in formulating news Laws etc. meaning that the chairs of the persons sitting in commanding positions are shaken.
Re: [Goanet] MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ONE AND ALL
Dear All, What has so impressed me about the conversation so far is the manner in which, unlike other posts I have seen on Goan groups, the discussion has been on in a relatively respectful manner. THank you for that, and I hope we can maintain that tone until the conclusion of this thread. Floriano, you have really valid points. I especially saw red when you mentioned the issue of power being shifted from the local to the national level. I agree therefore that there may be problems with the way in which the event is being organised. However, these are problems that need to be ironed out through dialogue and constant fine-tuning year after year. Ofcourse this assumes that we are willing to dialogue, as are the organisers of Sunburn... I think the valid point that we must recognise is that there is a difference (and a valid and important one) between Benedict's position and that of Bernardo. One lives in the area and benefits economically from Sunburn and tourism associated happenings, the other lives far away and represents a perspective that has nothing to gain economically from tourism etc etc. This is significant I believe. There are many Goans who need to make money and push themselves up to the next economic bracket. This is the story of the beach belt, no matter how much I may dislike what it has become. The question then is how do we work with them (local Goans) rather than against them. Simply standing on a rock and crying like a prophet of doom is not going to help. regards, J

It is the way the beach is left after the event. The impact of intoxication by other communities who really cannot cope with drinks. The over promotion of Goa resulting in attracting sale of land to non Goans. kr M From: floriano Dear Salus et al, I have said exactly that.

Just this year I learned that some Catholic priests in their Christmas sermons have urged parishioners to use the greeting 'Merry Christmas' right up to the New Year as the term 'Compliments of the Season' is generic and does not specify that these are Christmas greetings. You might as well be saying 'Compliments of the Winter Season' I tend to agree with the priests but I am no expert on these matters,. Could someone throw light on the linguistic, religious and logical argument for the correct greeting? And what is the phraseology used in other countries? Cheers! Cecil

In the case of the Festival being held in Goa on Candolim Beach, it's not the Fault of the organisers for holding such a Fest, but it's the old Supply and Demand ethos that is the driving force behind such Festivals be it Glastonbury, Woodstock, Leeds or wherever Music is appreciated for what it's worth !!. So One should not deny OUR Goan Music Lovers for this yearly Festive Season experience in Goa or as Mr Benedict Lobo so rightly puts it as This Cock and Bull story about drugs being sold at the Festival makes me laugh. Come on people , we have spent half our lives living on the Calangute-Candolim coastline.Drugs are sold everywhere in Goa and in the least of places you will expect. The 'drug dealer' is not foolish to sell dope at a public venue like the festival where he is being watched. For too long , we Goans have been Whistling in the Wind about the decline of Morality, Civility and Decency of Standards in in Goa due to tthe prevailing conditions and most undemocratic forms of Governance in Goa, For once in our lifetime, Ixttoghots or as in English, friends, what is needed to change our thinking is not the drip, drip of ways of opposing anything and everything to stop this ROT and downward slide of Goa going to the stray DOGS, of which there are plenty in Goa, but as Gandhi once said, we Must be the Change and to Change the things in Goa with a Zeal that the Great St Francis Xavier Left us. We should not do this by merely evangelising the Masses, but we should look into OUR own Hearts by making or bringing about an AWARENESS and complete RE-EDUCATION of our Peoples to Know Right from Wrong and to Elect in true Goan Faith those Politician who have the Integrity rather than Just Muscle Power or clad as WOLVES in Sheep's Clothing !! It is sad that we do not recognize people of that talent, giants who have done so much for goan proide. Intead of being scared of Bollywood, let us honour our heroes, let us shout from the rooftops about what they have achieved, and let us do more for our own music. Let us be the Music Capital of the East where Bollywood and hollywood come to pay their respects. Now is the time to truly liberate ourselves from the yolk of 451 years of colonial oppression, and another 49 at the hands of our very own, making it a total of 500 years! So, let us celebrate the end of this tyranny by believing that we can be the best. About your message below, I think we are chasing the wrong bull. Here are my comments: 1. Noise pollution: Is it a regular feature – daily? Monthly? Or once in a blue moon? There are rules about noise etc in place in Goa, and it is up to the authorities concerned to ensure that while permissions are given, they are released with the condition that the program closes down by a certain fixed time. As is done with the many dances held at Carnival, Christmas and the New year in Goa. In this instance, as per the news article in the Times of India, the organisers have stated, and I quote: “We can promise that we won't break any laws whether it is the 10 pm deadline or in terms of licenses. We believe that we are adding to the Goan economy, from employment at the fest to filling up hotels and restaurants around the venue. 2.Drugs: In which era are you living mate? Drugs are available everywhere to those who seek it. There may be a few cases of unscrupulous dealers making an appearance at the festival as is the case anywhere crowds do gather. Do you know about drugs being sold during the feast of St Francis Xavier in Old Goa? Do you want to cancel that feast too, because drugs are sold in the fair? It is the responsibility of the Police to ensure that due policing is enforced. Are the organisers selling drugs? I don’t think so, however, if they are, then it is another story altogether. 3.Garbage clearance: Have the organisers been given permission with the condition that they are responsible to clear the garbage? Garbage is the responsibility of the local panchayats or municipality, and that responsibility cannot be just palmed off to the organisers, who will be paying requisite fees charged by the local authorities to put up the show. And those fees should be designed to cover these eventualities like garbage etc. This year there were reports of garbage strewn at Old Goa on the feast of St Francis Xavier. So will the church have to organise for garbage clearance in the future? If that is the stand that Goa Suraj is going to take, forget about the elections mate! You will get nowhere. 4. Cost of the ticket: The organisers know which is the audience they have targeted for their show, and have accordingly put up their tariff. If you cannot afford to pay Rs10,000.00, then don’t go. If nobody can afford to pay that amount, then this will be the last year this show is held. Your problem solved! Let us not just object to any and every thing. Some things may be good, some may not. Music is something good, and Goans do have music running through their veins. Let our Goans enjoy the show. Issues like the above are to be tackled with the authorities who fail Goans and not the organisers of the show who are promoting something good. [I believe music is good]. Have you forgotten the good old days when young and old thronged to Calangute beach for the Simla Beat Contests? This is similar, albeit on a different level altogether. I would conclude saying that just because your government has failed you, do not penalise Goans and the organisers who are trying to put up a good show. Instead of problems, come up with solutions! Mog Asundi until we find another issue for tommorow. Benedict 2010/12/27 Salus Correia Floriano: Best wishes to you and your family, in this holy season of joy. About your message below, I think we are chasing the wrong bull. Here are my comments: 4. Cost of the ticket: The organisers know which is the audience they have targeted for their show, and have accordingly put up their tariff. If you cannot afford to pay Rs10,000.00, then don’t go. If nobody can afford to pay that amount, then this will be the last year this show is held. Your problem solved!

Goanetters annual year-end meet is on Dec 27, 2010 (Monday) from 4-6 pm at Institute Piedade (near Hotel Mandovi, opp Bread More) in Panjim. Do come along. RSVP via SMS 9822122436, f...@goa-india.org or 2409490 (after 2 pm). * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Compliments of the SEASON to you, Dear Salus. For your benefit, I shall sign off with these examples where I have been anti-loud music noise pollution (not anti-music ) for the past 30 odd years and still fighting to remain sane where LMNP is concerned. Also, I am an environmental lover generally called the environmentalist. As you must know Pollution (of any sort) eats up one's innards and makes one sick. Example One: Police Inspector (Mapusa circa 'late 80s)- Mr. Mangaldas Desai. .. PI Floriano Lobo - Anti-Loud Music Noise Pollution ... FL FL: Enter Mapusa PS with a written complaint of Funnel type Loud speakers blasting his vicinity to kingdom come. PI: Mr. Lobo, I see that you are the only one person in Moira who gets disturbed. There is no complaint from any other person on record. FL: Do you know who wrote the Indian Constitution??? ... Dr. Ambedkar. Right? You will be surprised to know that when he wrote that constitution, he had only Floriano Lobo in mind He wrote it for me so that I get my rights. He also put you on the other side of this desk to protect my rights. PI: Black in the face.. silent. FL: Floriano Lobo does not need one hundred people lining behind him to ask for those rights So please get up from that chair, sit in your jeep ... go and arrest this violator of all laws, rules and regulations which you are sitting on. Or you may arrest me because I am going to continue to sit here until you decide either way. Mangaldas got up, sat in his jeep and made the first arrest (in this connection). This violator was the Shiv Sena's promukh. Note: The world will be a happy place to live if all laws, rules and regulations are observed/implemented where everyone will be free to do what they want to do. Example Two: In my Synopsis of a Writ Petition [236 of 2007] I filed in the HC against 3 hotels in Baga/Calangute Beach [ Calypso/Fahrenheit/Strela do Mar] for gross CRZ violations, which petition is revived and ongoing as WP 580 of 2009 for non compliance of the HC orders by Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority GCZMA, I told the Justices of the High Court to see that the laws rules and regulations are implemented to the fullest extent or scrap every thing so that people may do what they want thereby bringing-in utter lawlessness. This, I said, will make every one happy or there will spring new laws and regulations to curb the lawlessness. Important, I said, is for the people to decide whether they want to be on the side of the lawlessness or of the law. The HC disposed off the Petition with certain orders whereby, Calypso's 4 or more luxury bungalows right on the beach ( old fishermen's houses expanded and rebuilt) were demolished with a loss of almost 4 crores of rupees. When the top management of Calypso contacted me over the phone, pleading for help... since I was the only petitioner and the petition disposed... if I could keep quiet all would be fine... I told the person that my price was too high and that he will not be able to match it. He laughed. Yes, I said , I shall help you. Give a press conference. Tell the press how much you have paid to the Tourism minister, to the MLA ( Agnelo Fernandes), to the Sarpanch ( Joseph Sequeira),

Is it become a trend to oppose anything and everything these days ,so that the real issues affecting Goa are sidelined. This Cock and Bull story about drugs being sold at the festival makes me laugh.Come on people , we have spent half our lives living on the Calangute-Candolim coastline.Drugs are sold everywhere in Goa and in the least of places you will expect. The 'drug dealer' is not foolish to sell dope at a public venue like the festival where he is being watched. Music is an ingredient part of Goan lifestyle and runs deep in their blood.Goa can be a music Capital of the Country and should be promoted to be one.We are lucky to have so many international artists playing in Goa today, thanks to these festivals and thousands of national and international tourists who come at this time , adding to our economy. If we take away all this, the tourists will not have much to do in Goa.No doubt , the tourist numbers have fallen this year and most of these are moving towards South East Asia.Even the Middle East countries like UAE has started having international Music festivals and concerts by international artists to attract tourists here.I know many Goans and a lot Indians who fly all the way here just to attend a concert by Bryan Adams, Santana ect. Alas for those that never sing,But die with all their music in them! ~Oliver Wendell Holmes So let there be Music !! Cheers Benedict 2010/12/26 Marion Pereira mcpereir...@yahoo.co.uk Wake up !! [Goanet] Merry Christmas to you all
We cannot speak about Christmas without thinking of Manger, shepherds, kings or wise men and Harod. Jesus was born in a stable at Bethlehem. For over last two hundred years we have been reciting this sentence like parrots. Stable represents dirt, poverty, humility. Usual poor people have dirt around their place because they have to rear animals to survive. Jesus came to live among these sorts of people. It’s only during Christmas we royally think about the poor and try to distribute sweets and clothes and grains to them while for eleven months we never think of them and if at all we have them in our minds it is when we need these people to work for us and many times work as slaves. Lots of people have servants in their homes. They are sometimes treated very badly. We make them slog day and day out without feeling a pinch of pain to our hearts and without thinking that they are human beings. Many times these poor people while lying down on the floor to sleep at night sigh a sign of relief that their bones can be rested. Many of us do not think of our poor parents when they come to old age we leave them alone in their homes just because we cannot accommodate them in our homes or have no time for them. We see these old senior citizens struggling in banks, general stores, sometimes in courts, or Government offices to get their work done. Their children are busy with their jobs abroad or might have settled abroad and have no time for their parents. I once met a gentleman in a bank who asked me to write a withdrawal slip. He had five hundred in the account and wanted to withdraw three hundred. I could see a number of five hundred deposited every month and inquired from him as who is sending him this five hundred. He told me that during his younger days he was tutoring a girl in maths and science. This helped this poor girl to pass her matriculation and go to higher secondary and pass a twelve standard. Now she is married and out of gratitude has been sending five hundred to him. She can afford that much only as her husband works for a very small salary and she is a housewife but she has been sacrificing to save for him. When I inquired about her children he told me that he has a son in states but does not even send he a Christmas card .He has a daughter in Australia and she is married but no time for this poor man. Jesus has come to live with these types of people. The kings remind us of the kingdom of God that is yet to be established within us. This kingdom is a place of love and understanding and co operation and sharing and caring for one another. Once I met a man and his wife and though we were strangers he said “Good Morning God loves you ” I was stunned by these greetings. Many times when in Church we just want to rush home after mass, a home of selfishness, a home of pride etc. Very few have fellowship. The Protestants always begin their prayer service with fellowship. We should appreciate this instead of criticizing them. Herod stands for selfishness, greed, and pride envy. Herod stands for hatred. _ Post free property ads on Yello Classifieds now! www.yello.in http://ss1.richmedia.in/recurl.asp?pid=221

Albert writes Jesus was born in a stable. Stable signifys poverty. There are many poor people in this world. Some are poor because they have no money to buy essential needs. Many times the rich have more than needed but we never think about those who cannot buy bread. Many of them go to bed hungry. They do not have enough to buy clothes either. Many have not seen what real christmas is.For them life has become a burden. We have lots of associations in the catholic church but do we really help them? We have the caritas, the vincente de Paul etc etc .There are many who really are poor. Sometimes a poor widow has rich children who never think about the poor mother or father. They may send once in a way some money but that is not sufficient to live in today's world. Do these caritable institutions who make money from the people visiting the church ever think that they should adopt these type of people? Today caritas Goa has built huge mansion to look after 9 hippies suffering from aids . These are foreigners who should be sent back to their country and our people who have no one to lean on should be looked after. We have second catagory of poor who have money but no support. Sometimes these are old people left out by their children to fend for themselves. They need support to do their daily needs and many of them are living alone and are suffering from boredom. They have no one to love, no one to talk ,no one to do their marketing and are often at the mercy of neighbours and friends .Jesus was born among these type of people. Before dying Jesus made sure his mother was not left alone and told his friend John. friend this is your mother ,mother this is your son. So much concern for his earthly mother. Christmas by going for mass, attending dance, christmas carols, get together is not christmas at all. For us christians christmas means turning ourselves in the direction of the downtrodden and holding their hands and lifting them up so that they can see God and Christ. They can smile, they can be happy, through out their life. Those who have two rupees can you select one of these poor and give them one rupee? Those who have two hands and legs can you select one old person or a person who is sad and depressed and make that person see a blue sky? Can you visit any one of these needy people and offer your help? The right way is to go to the home for the aged select any old person from there and bring him or her to your house for one weekened and allow him or her to stay with you, play with you, eat with you for just one saturday night and sunday whole day once in six months and see the happiness in their life? albert _ Over 20 Jobs @ naukri.com ! Albert writes Merry Christmas to one and all. This festival brings joy to each and every one of us. Jesus a simple man brought good tidings. On this great day and great season let us take a strong vow that we will love God with our whole heart and love every fellow human being as we love ourselves. Let us stop killing other human beings and not spoil their name, happiness . Let us not cheat anyone one of his or her happiness, wealth or any other possesions. Let each human being respect the womb that brought them into this world and the father who was able to take part in the formation of human beings in the mother's womb. Let each human being remember the sacrifices that our parents have done for us and thank them first for allowing us to be born. Let us thank our parents for unending love that they have given us,for the trouble they have taken for us. let us not forget the selfish love they have given us forgetting themselves many times of sleep, food and happiness too. Let Jesus be born today into our hearts that we may learn to able to think of other human beings as if they are ourselves Merry Christmas Albert _ Don't miss the latest sporting action! * * * 2006 ANNUAL GOANETTERS MEET - GOA * * * WHERE: Foodland Cafe - Miramar Residency - Miramar, Goa WHEN: December 21, 2006 @ 4:00pm More info: http://lists.goanet.org/pipermail/goanet-goanet.org/2006-December/051398.html Dear Brothers and sisters Since God chose to be born in a stable, let us all go the stable to see Jesus. There are many people living below poverty. They feel ashamed to beg and so remain quiet all their life. If like the three wise men or the maggi you can discover where Jesus is born it would be a nice thing on your part to convert the stable into a nice mansion. You can spot out one little child from the poor home and give that child everything it needs like good education, good food, clothes etc. Spend whatever you can so that this little child of a poor family can shine. You need courage to do this. But please do not give more than it can digest. I knew a goan who had settled in Germany. This gentleman had spotted two children from poor families. After the interview the children told their benefactors their dream of going to college. One said it wanted to get a degree while the other wanted to become an engineer. The estimate was drawn and from high school to college every need was attended to. From hostel fees, college fees to clothes, extra food etc etc, Today both the children have settled in life, got a good job and good home and they have always been praying for their benefactors. Many of our goan netters who are abroad and are earning in dollars can help these poor children be someone and be somewhere in this world. Albert _ Spice up your IM conversations.
