I'm attending this workshop and I am not familiar with the area where it will be held. The 1739 N. High Street address doesn't make sense when compared to the links provided on the workshop web page. There are no addresses provided for any of the hotels. Googleing wasn't much help. So, if anyone, whether attending or not, is familiar with the area, could you provide some directions. You can respond on or off line. Steve: The OSU web site is http://ohiounion.osu.edu/. Re: z10 capacity number?
We just moved our remaining LPAR over to a new z10. Now, some of our z/OS people are updating their licenses on their products to reflect the new serial number, etc. However, they are being asked for the new mainframe's capacity number. I've never heard of that before. Martha: Every current mainframe has something called a capacity marker. This is what in the old days we would call a model. However, today the model reflects the number of engines available, not actually in use. Also, with sub-capacity machines the model is really not relevant. Issuing the z/OS command should show you the real marker, not a virtual marker. Jim

Re: z/OS 1.4 on a z/10
We brought up z/OS 1.4 under z/VM on our z10 after numerous experts told us it wouldn't work. I've become quite skeptical of authoritative-sounding claims that certain hardware/software combination simply won't work. Too many people are CYA and, if it hasn't been tested, they say it won't work. Empirical evidence is the best kind. Of course, I don't have to tell you that working and being officially supported are not one and the same. ;-) While it may work for a time, there are conditions which will cause it to fail. If it fails, what do you do then? You are in a totally unsupported configuration (don't forget that z/OS 1.4 itself is LONG out of service). Your system may be down hard until you can get a supported z/OS release installed. There is code for z/OS to support the z10 (and I don't just mean EREP and IOCP). You are taking a BIG risk in running operating systems which are not supported on a given processor. I investigated this in great detail for a customer of mine last year and the risk of a failure is just to great for a production environment. Jim

Re: ACM award
Today the Association for Computing Machinery (of which I have been a member since 1970) made the following award: VMware Workstation 1.0, the Software System Award, for bringing virtualization technology to modern computing environments, spurring a shift to virtual-machine architectures, and allowing users to efficiently run multiple operating systems on their desktops. Aside from the run multiple OSes on the desktop part, shouldn't we be insulted? Chip: Yes, we should be insulted. I remember being very upset the first time I heard a VMware employee talk about how they had invented the idea of server virtualization! Even on x86, VM386 was out years before VMware (even if it failed in the market). I am still upset every time I hear someone talk about VM when they mean VMware. My reaction is, I work on the real VM! Jim (aka Sir Jim the Evangelist)

Send me a note (off-list) with some times you are available (say on Friday this week?) and we can talk. CSE consists of three related, but independent, parts some of which have pre-reqs of chargeable features or products you do not have. * Cross system link This facility extends CP link protocols across the CSE complex. It controls normal, stable, and exclusive read or read/write access across multiple VM systems for minidisks on shared count-key-data direct access storage devices (CKD DASD), including those devices that accept the extended-count-key-data (ECKD) channel program protocol. * Cross system spool This facility extends CP spooling capabilities. It contains and manages spool files for users across multiple VM systems by using shared DASD and a communication vehicle. The communication vehicle is the Virtua l Machine/Pass-Through Facility with modifications. You can set up your sys tem to have cross system linking without cross system spooling. * Cross system MESSAGE and QUERY commands. With CSE, MESSAGE and QUERY command support is extended to allow th eir use across multiple VM systems. Refer to Supported Features for features of z/VM that are supported across system boundaries.

Graeme Graeme: IBM will NOT license z/VM V6 on a z9 (production or otherwise). While Hercules running on Linux on System z may allow it to work, doing this wo uld be a violation of the license. I don't think you want to put your employe r into this position. Until we ship the new function that was in the Statements of Direction in the z/VM V6.1 preview, there is only a minor functional difference you ne ed to worry about between z/VM V5.4 and z/VM V6.1 (see the preview). Re: CPU Power
We have some questions about MIPS consumed by VM and Linux from `management. They want numbers based on the cost of the MP effect by operating system, expecting different numbers for VM than for Linux (I haven't yet said anything about considering real MP effect for VM and virtual MP effect for guests having more than 1 virtual cpu). Is there any acceptable way to convert CPU Model and number of engines into MIPS? For example, our main VM system, one that has no Linux guests, runs in a 7-cpu LPAR on a 2094-507, while there are two LPARS on the same CEC, sharing 3 IFLs, running Linux under VM. Richard: Have you look at the zPCR tool? It will allow you to define some multi-image (i.e. more than one LPAR configs) for z/VM Linux workloads. http://www-03.ibm.com/support/techdocs/atsmastr.nsf/WebIndex/PRS1381 Jim
Re: z/OpenBSD -- wibni?
Already virtualized on its own platform, sounds rare and kinky to duplicate that on the 390. Not really. There are a lot of large shops that have significant numbers of small to medium iSeries boxen that they'd give their grandmother's eyeteeth to move to either Intel or z virtual machines so that they could completely eliminate an entire hardware platform (and an enormous amount of floor space). The solution for customers with lots of small iSeries/System i boxes today running IBM i (formerly i5/OS formerly OS/400) is to put in a Power blade (JS12 or JS22). You save a lot of space and get to share a BladeCenter with x86 blades. Jim
Re: Oldest VM on a System Z?
Hi... Does anyone know/remember the oldest (first) realease of VM that would run on a Z processor? I know z/VM 5.1 required a Z. But what from earlier releases would run on a Z? 4.4? 4.3? 4.2? Lee: According to the z900 announcement letter, the following VM releases were supported at GA. * z/VM 3.1.0 * VM/ESA 2.4.0 * VM/ESA 2.3.0 * VM/ESA 2.2.0 According to the z800 announcement letter, the following VM releases were supported at GA. * VM/ESA 2.4.0 with APARs VM62676, VM62811, VM62942 and VM62665 * z/VM 3.1.0 * z/VM 4.1.0 * z/VM 4.2.0 with APARs VM62938 and PQ51738 for HiperSockets As you may remember, we announced z/VM 3.1 with the z900 and then quickly repackaged (and repriced) the product as z/VM 4.1/4.2. All three releases shipped in 2001. Jim
Re: JAVA and Z/VM
Thank you for the input. z/OS and VSE/ESA (z/VSE) now support JAVA. I just thought z/VM should too. Ed: VSE/ESA and z/VSE do not (and never have) supported JAVA. They both supply JAVA code, but that runs on other platforms such as Linux and talk to applications on VSE. Jim
Re: ESM for SFS
No, VM:Secure is not an ESM for SFS. It can manage SFS enrollment, but that's all. ACF2 and RACF provide ESM support for SFS. Jim
Re: VTAM on an IFL?
With the IBM z10, you can mix standard and IFL engines in the same LPAR. So, if you put all your engines in the same LPAR, what does that do to licensing of 390 software that can also run on an IFL? Note that this is a statement of direction. A not as yet announced release of z/VM will be a pre-req for this support. Damn good question as to licensing! With our current licensing rules you would have to license z/VM on ALL the processors on the z10 if you are using this mode of LPAR (CPs and IFLs). This would probably also apply to any software running on z/VM that could run on either processor type (like VTAM). We will have to wait for the announcement to see what the licsening folks come up with, but I will certainly discuss this with them in advance. And then on the Linux side, would you then get charged for the 390 engines? i.e. DB2/UDB and Oracle Most of IBM's products which run on Linux on z (such as DB2 and WebSphere) have sub-capacity pricing which could be used in this environment. I believe Oracle and some (many?) of the ISVs also do this. You would need to talk to your ISV. Jim

Re: EMC disk storage Flashcopy
... EMC disk storage is being considered as a replacement for our current disk storage. I am told EMC disk storage functions differently for flashcopy. EMC disk storage utilizes BVCs for images... The interface for implementing BVC images does not support z/VM... (I am not sure if this is accurate, but this is what I have gathered from meetings with a group of zOS systems programmers. I may have misunderstood what they were saying...) ... Ceclia: From EMC's web site: EMC Compatible Flash for z/OS enables IBM FlashCopy commands to be executed in an EMC storage array. Compatible Flash intercepts and interprets IBM FlashCopy channel commands on the z/OS host and emulates command execution on EMC Symmetrix storage systems. However, there is NO support for z/VM. The EMC Support Matrix only mentions z/VM at all in stating re z/VM 5.1 that IBM plans to discontinue service for this version of z/VM on 09/30/2007. You really need to ask EMC about z/VM support in detail. Jim

Re: VM Software Licensing
Let me apologize in advance for asking so many questions related to VM software licensing. I don't get a clear picture sometimes of what is a non-chargeable feature and what is. I'm preparing to install the non-chargeable DFSMS/VM feature. However, the install instructions list ISPF and the C runtime library of LE as co requisites. Does anyone know if these two components are already installed as part of the base z/VM or are chargeable features that need to be ordered separately? I'm running z/VM 5.3. Chris: LE (and thus the C runtime) is an integral component of z/VM so you don't need to install anything else. ISPF is required ONLY if you want to use the storage management panels in DFSMS/VM. If you are installing DFSMS/VM for RMM or you are fine using the commands for storage management, you don't need ISPF. Jim
Re: VM Software Licensing
If it's the complete package, where is the FORTRAN support? :-) z/OS LE supports FORTRAN, why doesn't z/VM? We were not fully able to implement LE on our system because we had CMS apps that were a mixture of FORTRAN and PL/I. Those apps could not run with LE because of this stupid restriction. It should be as simple as adding the FORTRAN support from z/OS to z/VM. Don't tell me it can't be done, because I know somebody that did exactly that and it worked! Dale: The Fortran compiler for z/VM is NOT an LE enabled compiler (it still has it's own run time) so as far as z/VM is concerned LE is complete. Jim

I take it, from previous posts, that no one has found the new manuals for DB2 7.5. Tom: The DB2 for VSE VM pubs are now online at: http://ibm.com/support/search.wss?rs=66tc=SSEPFBrank=8dc=DA410+DA450dt Watch for any line wrap on the URL. Jim
LOOKAT
After entering a message number and choosing a platform, nothing happens when I press the Go button. I tried submitting a feedback to report the problem and got a Page cannot be displayed message when I pressed the Submit button. Perhaps someone who is internal o IBM will have better luck. Richard: It works fine for me with Firefox. It does launch a new page. Do you have pop-ups blocked? I have reported the lack of z/VM 5.3 messages to the page owner. Jim
Undocumented Messages?
HCPSWU2843E , HCPSWU2831E and HCPSWU2830I I found them all documented in the z/VM 5.3 CP Messages and Codes. http://publibz.boulder.ibm.com/epubs/pdf/hcsb4b20.pdf Jim
Re: DB2 7.5 manuals
I take it, from previous posts, that no one has found the new manuals for DB2 7.5. I have asked ID development in the Toronto Lab where the 7.5 pubs are online. Jim
Re: need a z890, cheap?
Not to mention the cost of getting it certified, and the ongoing cost of powering it up. Ouch. And not to mention that the z890 has been withdrawn from marketing (effective Dec 31, 2007) except for LIC (i.e. microcode) updates which are withdrawn effective June 30, 2008. In other words, you take the box as is. Now some of the parts are worth more than the box. For example, you can take many of the I/O cards and use them in a z9 (IBM will certify for a fee). The 32GB memory module alone is worth the price is you have a z890 with 8GB or 16GB, even with the IBM certification fee! Jim
Re: Ordering Service
Richard: It has been so long since I had to do it. What is the current method of ordering service for electronic delivery? I just tried to order an upgrade following what seemed a logical path and got the message: The easiest way to order service (assuming you know the PTF number) is at http://ibm.com/software/shopzseries. Jim
Re: Ordering Service
What I am after is the 2107device bucket for z/VM 5.2.0 at service level 0701. Richard: The buckets are available at http://www.ibm.com/support/us/en/. Simply enter the bucket (i.e. 2107device) into the search field. For storage, look for Upgrade 2107DEVICE, Subset 2107VM/ESA Jim
Simple pipelines question
I have been out of using pipes for too long. I need to process a file (parsing the data) but 1st I need to delete all records from the input stream longer than a certain length. How do I do this in pipes? Jim
Re: IBM's Next Generation Mainframe Processor
If you haven't already seen this, it's worth a look. It's a presentation by Charles Webb of IBM on the next IBM mainframe processor, the z6. (Don't ask me where 6 came from.) The thing that stood out for me was the 4GHz processor speed, but of course there's lots of other very good stuff as well. http://www2.hursley.ibm.com/decimal/IBM-z6-mainframe-microprocessor-Webb.pdf Mark: A few important things to note: 1) z6 is the name for the chip, not the name of the next generation mainframe. 2) This is a presentation on the processor and SMB hub chips in the next generation mainframe, not on the total package. 3) The cycle time is 4GHz+ and just as with MIPS, GHz is a meaningless indicator of processor speed. 4) This is an assumption on my part, but the z6 name be due to some parts of the chip being derived from Power 6 (e.g. the DFU). Jim
Re: z/VM COBOL compiler
Look here: http://ibm.com/eserver/zseries/zos/le/history/cobmvs.html According to this table, it is still supported for VM, but was long ago withdrawn from marketing. Ray: That web page is somewhat misleading. The product has been withdrawn from marketing and service only on OS/390 (z/OS). COBOL for OS/390 and VM (5648-A25) V2R2 is still be marketed and serviced for VM. Here is the info from the sales manual. * IBM COBOL for VM 2.02.0 (5648-A25) * IBM COBOL for OS/390 2.02.0 (5648-A25) (No Longer Available as of February 02, 2002) (Service Discontinued as of December 31, 2004) * IBM COBOL for VM 2.01.0 (5648-A25) (No Longer Available as of September 29, 2000) * IBM COBOL for OS/390 2.01.0 (5648-A25) (No Longer Available as of September 29, 2000) (Service Discontinued as of December 31, 2004) Jim
Re: ordering z/vm via shopzseries
Lionel: I just experienced shopzseries for the first time. To say it was interesting is an understatement. If a user has a problem or question related to their ShopzSeries experience, they should use the contact information on the Customer service page to get support. I used it to order z/vm 5.3 and found I was able to select it on DVD but then when it asked for media options it only allowed 2 which were both tape. As you know, we deliver z/VM through a package offering, which is the VM/SDO. While the z/VM operating system is available for delivery on DVD, no other items within the VM/SDO are available on DVD. If an order is placed for the z/VM operating system on DVD, and any other deliverable within the VM/SDO is included in the order, the customer will have to select a tape media. Every VM/SDO order includes the SDO Enabling Aid. The enabling aid can only be delivered on tape media, which we suspect is the cause of requirement for a tape media for the order placed on ShopzSeries. Is there a way to order the base z/VM and maintenance electronic and if so how? Service for z/VM can be ordered via ShopzSeries and will be delivered electronically. If there is a DVD ordering option why doesn't the media option reflect that ? very strange. Jim

Re: FW: IBM saves $250 million consolidating Linux...
Well this worked earlier today. Don't know why it's not working now. http://www-03.ibm.com/press/us/en/pressrelease/21945.wss We are experiencing timeouts on the gateway servers which front-end much of the IBM web sirte. The response to this announcement has been huge and the server includes videos discussing the announcement. I suspect people downloading the videos are causing some of this problem. Jim
Re: IOS3270 Manual or documentation
I have put the IOS3270 manual up on my web site at http://ibm.com/vm/devpages/jelliott/ Jim
Re: Another interesting article: z on Power 6??
It isn't pSeries or iSeries anymore either, IBM still uses zSeries on the older equipment on this page: http://www.ibm.com/products/shop/servers/us/index.html The old products are still eServer zSeries and the new product is System z9. However, the two together are know as System z. A similar rule holds true for the other server products. The itweek article also talks about Power6 chips in the System z machines. Has that been officially acknowledged by IBM yet? IBM has denied several times that we will be switching to Power chips. Note that the System z mainframes have lots of Power chips in them, but the processor chip is very much a System z unique chip. The others on the list are easy, since iSeries (System i) has been using Power chips for several years, and there are System p Blades already. The Power blades today are not System p products (and not Power5), they are PowerPC 970 chips (as were used in the Power Macs). However, IBM has indicated that we will see Power6 in blades in the future. Jim
Re: Security on Linux/VM
We are planning to make z/VM Linux production with RACF on VM, I would like to know what is best practices for handling security under Linux/VM and how other shops handing security for Linux. Anne: Check out http://www.vm.ibm.com/security/ (look for the papers at the bottom of that web page). Note that today you can't use RACF on z/VM to authenticate from Linux, but with z/VM 5.3 (available in June) and the new LDAP server you will be able to. Jim
Re: REXX370 4.02 01 Dec 1998 - why is Rexx so old?
We just upgraded to Z/VM 5.2 last year, so why is Rexx so old? Because it does everything we want of it? When Mike Cowlishaw wrote REXX he wrote a wonderful and complete language. The only thing that might be nice is to have his later ObjectREXX on z/VM, but for what we use REXX for (scripting) it is a very complete language. With the addition of CMS Pipelines it is extremetly powerful! Jim
Re: Multiprise 2000 Ficon
I think the answer is no, but I would like to know if you can get a Ficon channel card for a Multiprise 2000. We want to connect the Multiprise to external DASD. We were planning on having Escon and Ficon connections to the external DASD at the same time, but it looks like we can only have one or the other, not both, and if we switch connectors, the data space must be wiped and redefined. So there goes our migration plan. The only Escon to Ficon converters I can find connect Ficon channels to Escon devices, not the other way around. Peter: You can NOT put FICON features into a MP2000 (G3 technology). FICON came with G5 technology in 1998. Jim
Re: DASD cylinders
How then do I have actual volumes on my system of 32,760 cyls. That's not divisible by 1113 (ds8000 here). Marcy: Sorry, I was not clear. Allocation is in multiples of 1113 cylinders. You can make a volume whatever size you want, but if it is not a multiple of 1113 cylinders, the remainder up to the next 1113 cylinder boundary is not usable. Therefore, if you defined a volume of 100 cylinders, you would be wasting 1013 cylinders. Jim
Re: IFL Pricing
Did anyone see this article regarding Nationwide: http://www.informationweek.com/story/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=196700327 The specific item I wonder about is: The IFLs don't come cheap. They're listed at $95,000 each on IBM's Web site. But hundreds of small servers didn't come cheaply either. Miggo estimates they averaged $10,000 each. The last I heard, IFLs listed for $125,000 each. Has that changed? Or, is that incorrect infromation (either because the number is wrong or because its Nationwide pricing instead of list) that incorrect infromation (either because the number is wrong or because its Nationwide pricing instead of list) Dennis: Don't believe what you read in the press, especially the IT press. The list price for an IFL on any machine other than a z9 BC is $125,000 US (on the z9 BC it is $95,000). However, there are often (always?) deals from IBM. I suspect the author of the article saw the $95,000 price for a z9 BC and thought that was for all z9s. Jim
Re: Does Xen run on zSeries?
I found this on the web (which does not, of course, make it true) at Linux-Watch at http://www.linux-watch.com/news/NS9118634698.html: Even now, Jaffe continued, insurance giant Nationwise is using Novell SLES and Xen in production IBM zSeries mainframes to improve their system utilization and save money. When needs VM? I like the spelling of Nationwise. I have pretty much given up on this reporter getting things right. JIM
Re: z/VM 5.2 performance monitors
We just found out that our VM performance monitor software (Macro 4 - VPAC) will not be supported on our new 64 bit z/VM 5.2 . Does anyone have an recommendations as a replacement? We don't need anything fancy, just basic monitoring and basic guest performance reporting. Tim: Well a plug for the IBM product (which ships with your z/VM 5.2 system already installed, you just have to enable it). IBM z/VM Performance Toolkit http://www.vm.ibm.com/related/perfkit/ Jim
www.vm.ibm.com
The site is not accessible due to problems apparently at ATT. There is a ticket open with them. This is not an IBM problem. Jim

Re: OSA-Express Question
If all they're doing is tn3270 traffic to a VTAM application solicitor, convert it to using DIAL VTAM in the VM TELNET connection exit. There will be a slight increase in host CPU utilization (the main point of using the CPA tn3270 server was to offload the IP stack cycles outside the host box), but it should be fairly minimal. David: Thanks, that may work. Are they also using the CPA as their cross-domain communications link to the other VTAMs? If so, then you are looking at doing EE. The customer is pure VM (z/VM 5.2 migrating from VM/ESA). Therefore EE is not an option. They have two VM LPARs, each of which is connected to a different CPA and a 3745 two which woth LPARs are connected. Jim

Is IBM building a mainframe 'windows' for only $100 million what can one expect? http://apnews.excite.com/article/20061004/D8KHJQ500.html Thomas: This is not new news, and the $100 million covers a lot of things to make mainframes (read z/OS here) easier to use. Re: Understanding F20 ESS and defining a correct IOCDS
I will be installing my first F20 ESS (Shark). It has not arrived but I do know that it is using 36.4 GB drives and has 1.6 Terabytes. I was not able to find a copy of the IBM Total Storage ESS Introduction and Planning Guide GC26-7294 on the web. If any one has this guide or a URL I would appreciate getting a copy. I did download and reviewed the Redbook Implementing ESS in your environment. Hans: Go to the publications web site, select Canada then do a search and you will find all 10 editions of this pub for download. http://www.elink.ibmlink.ibm.com/public/applications/publications/cgibin/pbi.cgi Jim
Re: New mainframe redbook
Yesterday, IBM released an new Redbook entitled: Introduction to the New Mainframe: z/OS Basics (http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg246366.html) ... It would be nice, imho, if IBM was to produce a similar Redbook for z/VM. I would be willing to contribute to it Dave: This book is the basis for the z/OS courses some higher-eds are offering. I have started (in my spare time) doing a z/VM version of this, but I think we need a formal project for this. Jim
Re: FYI .. I copied this from the VSE-LIST
This seemed interesting so I thought I'd pass it along over here. Yesterday, in our NC/VSE Users Group meeting, we were privileged to have a guest from the REXX Language Association. It turns out they are based just down the road from us in Raleigh, NC. The guest is the current Treasurer of the organization. He told us about the organization and the way they are furthering the REXX language in all platforms. It was quite impressive to see just how widespread it is. I wanted to share this with all of you because I was unaware of it and I know there are quite a few REXX gurus in our midst that will be interested. With their input and assistance, we could benefit in the VSE/VM/Linux world by getting IBM to further enhance REXX in our environments. Visit the association's web site at www.rexxla.org. Thomas: IBM open sourced ObjectREXX a couple of years ago and turned over ownership to the REXX Language Association. Jim
EMC disk on z9 with z/VM
I have a customer looking at a z9 for z/VM, but EMC only qualifies the z9 for z/OS (per their web site at http://www.emc.com/interoperability/index.jsp). Is anyone on this list using EMC disk on a z9 with z/VM? Were you able to get a statement of support from EMC? Jim
Re: Protection Level 2 RACF on VM/ESA
Back in the late 80's during the VM/SP or VM/HPO days, we ran RACF for PL2 (then called System High) processing as it was the only government approved software package at the time. Sterling Software didn't want to submit VM:Secure for testing so we were stuck with RACF and DIRMAINT. After we no longer needed PL2 we went back to VM:Secure. Now I find that I might have to set up our new system to run PL2 and was hoping that I wouldn't have to go back to RACF. We are running VM/ESA 2.3. Am I stuck with RACF or has someone seen something better out there? Karl: VM/SP release 5 + RACF 1.8.2 + DirMaint 1.4.0 + VMTAPE was successfully evaluated as a class C2 Trusted Computing Base by the Department of Defense, and several releases of VM/ESA Version 1 were submitted for evaluation against both the C2 and B1 criteria, as documented in DoD publication 5200.28-STD dated December 1985. While VM/ESA version 2 has not been submitted for formal evaluation by the DoD, it remains designed to meet the C2/B1 TCB criteria. Neither the completed evaluation of VM/SP release 5 nor the partial evaluations of VM/ESA version 1 raised a concern with the contents of the VM source directory not being encrypted. These levels of VM are all long out of service, including VM/ESA 2.3 that you are running. http://www.vm.ibm.com/related/dirmaint/dirmencr.html Today, z/VM V5.1 has been certified at the Common Critera EAL3+ level which is the currently used certification standard. Jim
Re: New z9 models
http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/z/z9bc/ http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/z/z9ec/ And for those of us who are old enough to remember, this does not derive from BC Mode (S/360) or EC Mode (S/370)! IBM System z9 EC Enterprise Class (formerly IBM System z9 109) IBM System z9 BC Business Class You can think of the z9 EC has the follow-on to the z990 and the z9 BC as the follow-on to the z890. Jim
Re: New z9 models
I thought the z9-109 was the follow on to the z990 Dave: z9-109 was renamed today to z9 EC. In addition to the new name, there are now subcapacity models of the z9 S08 (4 different speeds on the 1 to 8 way models of the z9 EC) and other enhancements in common with the z9 BC. Jim
