Re: [JAWS-Users] malwarebytes 2.0315!

2014-11-08 Thread Mike B.
Hi Mike,

I totally understand where you are coming from & I'm sorry if I sounded like
my rant was directed at you but, it was not! It's just so many factors can
play into of what Jaws will report back to you, for instance, in these
latest Windows operating systems screen resolution can play a big part in
what you'll hear from window to window or, program to program & a lot of
people may not have the confidence to play around with these kinds of
settings to see what will work best for their situation. There are those
that might not know the difference between Landscape & Portrait when making
a screen resolution settings change & speaking from experience the Landscape
/ Portrait selection can make a world of difference by itself. You know
where I'm coming from &, from reading your posts' I know you care & are
willing to help! I think people like lists' like this one because they get
an answer from someone that experienced the same problem & can relate to it,
rather than someone saying, why don't you just Google it &, getting a bunch
computer lingo that they may not understand from their search & will never
get an understandable answer.

Anyways, I enjoy reading your posts' & have learned a lot from them but,
remembering is a whole nuther issue! LOL, hahaha hahaha hahaha, LOL
Take care.

Mike,

Thanks for your reply, I agree with you 100%, and I do not expect everyone
on this list to have the same degree of knowledge when it comes to computers
and working with softwares that are at best, merely retrofitted to meet the
needs of blind people. I want everyone to know, that I need just as much
help with somethings as anyone else, and that I am always willing to lend a
helping hand wherever I can. I first joined this list and a couple more
similar ones to be able to learn some of the things that I did not
understand, and it has been a great resource for me. But, I get the greatest
reward from this and other lists by teaching someone else how to accomplish
their goals. I post my email address at the bottom of every message that I
write, and it is my hope that anyone needing help with something will
contact me on or off list. I do not know it all, and if it is a subject that
I am unfamiliar with, I will say so right up front, but will still try to
head someone in the right direction to get their questions answered. If I do
know the subject, then I will stick with the person to the very end to get
them to where they feel like their inquiry has been answered. So, to
everyone on the list, please do not hesitate to ask for my help with any
questions that you might have, I promise that you will get no less than my
honesty, and perhaps the answer that you were looking for.

I have a major problem with a recording that I made with an Olympus ls7

reason there is an eof marker about 2 seconds into the recording. Gold wave

I had the recorder play past that point but can not duplicate so I can
divide the file. Is there any way to eliminate this eof marker with
something other than gold wave?

my suggestion would be since you can not get to the balloon notification
fast enough is to launch the program and then look at settings. If it is
possible look to see in options for something about making Google chrome

Jerald, to answer your question, when you open malwarebytes, the first thing
that comes up is the dashboard! hit your right arrow on the keyboard, then
you’ll navagate to the scan button, tab around, and you’ll see radio buttons,
one of them is a threat scan, and the other is a custom scan, and a hyper scan

Thank you for your reply.

I'll try it out.

I found another accessible sql tool, the Eclipse dpt. It's a plugin for
the well known IDE which can be used for running sql scripts. I found it
quite accessible and usable with jfw.

when you get used to it!

[JAWS-Users] Vipre Settings Scan Options Files

2014-11-08 Thread Mike B.
Hi All,

Mister Ferrin does have these files on the Jaws-Users website. Put these
files into your ENU folder & you can tab through the Settings / Scan Options
tab of Vipre. No more using the Jaws cursor for this tab! Vipre files
direct link:

http://www.jaws-users.com/text/AntiVirus&Spyware/JAWSFilesForVipre'sScanOptionsTabInSettings.html

Here is the explanation of these newly created files by the creator:

From: Roger R. Cusson
Hi again Folks,
I am very sorry for cluttering up the list with this whole viper silliness.

Earlier today, I had sent some viper configuration files, using the jaws
prompt create function, and although the prompts are labeled fine, I could
not for the life of me, figure out how to get rid of the double speaking
message prompts, that occurred when one would press their tab key. They
would hear the status of the control, and they would hear the status of the
control yet again, very very very annoying.

After closely looking at the prompt create functions, using the frames
viewer in JAWS, I have solved the double speaking problem, so I am sorry
but, here is the last set of attachments for the folks who I already sent
the first set of attachments out too, containing those two files, for the
jaws prompt frame function to work correctly. This has nothing to do with
the viper created registry files, those are fine, and now, my double
speaking of prompts should now only speak once, no matter what u do with
your tab key.

Here we go again kids, just over write the files with these, after you unzip
them and or copy them to that crazy jaws settings, explore my settings deal.

[JAWS-Users] Vipre REG Files Explained

2014-11-08 Thread Mike B.
Hi All,

Here is an explanation of the registry files that I spoke of & why they
might be a benefit for those that would like to use them. This is from a
blind Jaws User that helped create the files with Vipre. Señor Ferrin, I
believe, is going to post them on the website.

From: Roger R. Cusson
Greetings folks,

After a six hour extensive meeting with their development team, we have
ironed out the problems with 2015, but since the interface has already been
written, they need to go back in, and fix the accessibility issues.

I will post when it is all good again.

I have tested several modules, and we are continuing to refine it.

For now, hold off on 2015, and if people who have 2014 wish to keep the 2014
version and not get the upgrade prompt, I have a binary registry file that I
can send if people want to get me off list, and I will send u the reg fix
for both the say no to the upgrade prompt fix, and then the say yes to the
upgrade prompt fix, once we have all the viper 2015 accessibility modules in
place.

So, we have a reg fix prompt to keep 2014 from forcing the update and a reg
fix for reinstating the prompt to go ahead and upgrade…

The 2015 program is written in dot net framework, and although there are a
huge number of m s d n articles and best practice data modules, some of the
viper interface is a set of custom controls, which need to be recoded for
accessibility best practices with screen readers.

It is being worked on, and I will post more once we really have something
worth making a second post about.

hey LeDon,
the only voices you can install with JAWS I think, are vocalizer expressive.
you can download, Tessa, for example, and running the exacutible file for
the voice. so you'd get it from the more voices item in the help menu, which
takes you to the Vocalizer Expressive site for JAWS 15 or 16. you can also
go to freedomscientific.com/downloads and their is a link their for the
Vocalizer Expressive voices. their are also links to RealSpeek and Vocalizer
direct voices for older JAWS versions. their is a download button for Tessa,
for example. either save the file, and when it downloads, open it by
pressing enter, or run it. follow the installation instructions provided,
and it will tell you you need to restart JAWS to complete the installation.
do that, and you'll find a voice profile, Vocalizer Expressive(Factory),
select it and their you go. repeet this for as many vocalizer expressive
voices you want.

[JAWS-Users] McAfee internet security suite

Okay I did it but McAfee is still not marking my spam email with the
word spam.

I went into the program to check if the spam filter was on and it is.
do you have any other suggestions?
THANKS IN advance
Hi Anna,

I have McAfee both at work and at home, and it is largely inaccessible.
The best way to start is if you have it in your system tray, or now I
think they call it notification area, right click the McAfee icon and go
from there. You may need to use the JAWS cursor to locate options, and
you may need sighted assistance.
