Hi, back in joynet after a long span of 2 weeks; finally got all the phone and internet connections all fixed up. Was really glad to go through a flood of emailsafter such a gap.. They were really beautiful and thought provoking; just an idea. why not, go into more sharings on the graces received after praying the Holy rosary??? I am sure many more will have plenty to share.. Hi! My name's Tina and I joined joynet only two weeks ago. Right now, I'm studying at MASCOM (Manorama School of Communication). I'm part of the first batch of this new journalism school. As part of our work we have to release newspapers every week that go to various journalism schools across the country and around the world. This year I was the editor of our paper and I just thought that I should share my experiences with you. I know the Spirit was working in me the entire week because I was a very different person throughout. I faced more than a fair share of obstacles, but through it all He was there to help me. For the editorial; conference that we have, i had no idea what my reporters were offering. Usually the editor knows what is coming so that they can make a decision before hand. But I had a terrible setback and yet the conference went well. My best friend prayed while the session was on and everything was fine. The night before the news story deadline, I found that 3 of the 5 reporters still had problems with their stories. my usually tendency is to break down. But there I was, actually comforting a reporter and trying to get her another story at 8 pm! During the editing period, The editor of the Malayalam version ( I'm for English) got all her ads ready way before i did. Again my usual reaction would be to panic. But not this time. I took my time to get the ads ready. And believe it or not, everyone loved it coz' they were different, new and good. Friday was the paper's deadline( we are given a week to bring out the paper) The other editor had it all ready and printed out form the computer. But mine wasn't still out even by 2 pm, the deadline being 4 pm. The other reporters were anxious because we believe a lot in team work and bringing it out on time. i went about as cool as a cucumber, actually comforting them, when I should have actually been worried. I kept reassuring my 2 sub-editors (who do the layout of the page) that they had time till 3:45 to do their work. one of them had done it, but the other still wanted to go on. But the paper was in the principal's hands before 4. Praise the lord!! Everyone loved the paper and i think some people were even envious. But my team of 8 was proud of the paper. I know I didn't do anything coz' Jesus was looking over it all. Through it all, He was there watching over it all and nudging me along. I've asked him why and he says he has send me here with a purpose. Gee, what would I do without Him? Anyway, that was one of the best experiences of my life when I felt the fullness of God's love encompassing me. Without Him constantly behind me, I would never have made it through. the confidence that He gave me was beyond all my wildest dreams. I just want you to remember that there's a wonderful sweetheart up there for you and me. Regards Tina PS: I you know of any JY who are journalists will you tell me? Hi JYs, It's been after a long time that I written in Joynet. Congratulations Joynet for the 4th Birthday (belated). I was introduced to joynet by my friend which was last year in the month of October. After that there was no looking back. It is just like being a part of a big family. I came to know so many wonderful people who shared such beautiful relationship with the Lord and who encouraged me in my spiritual life. The JYs are like Angels who give me a helping hand in moments of depression, doubt and anxiety. I remember last year when I had decided at the nick of the time to come to Potta in December, it was these angels (Jason Welchy) who made the impossible possible. I keep thanking my Lord for them always. The wonderful experience I had there with the Lord will always be cherished. Thus I feel being a part of Joynet was God's way of bringing me one step more closer to Him. The association with Joynet has helped me tremendously in my journey of faith where most of my doubts about Christianity have been cleared and I thank God for it. Thanks God Bless. Dear friends, Its been quite sometime since Ive written to joynet. Well, the reason mainly being I dont have a compy at my disposal and the Intenet cafés here in the vicinity tend to leave a hole in my pocket. Ive missed Joynet tremendously. But also Ive learnt how to be detached. Thats something good I guess. Im hear in Bangalore since August 14. Sorry I couldnt meet any of the Jys here. Ive been extremely tied up. I hope to come for one of the night vigils before I leave blore. Please do bear with me, Blore Jys. Im here participating in the 3 months School of evangelization by ICPE India. It has been a beautiful time for me personally. With a break from family, job, ministry and other nitty gritties of lifes rat race. Ive never had such a close time of sitting at the feet of our Lord and waiting on him. The theme of the school is based on Issiah 40:31 . They that hope in the LORD will renew their strength, they will soar as with eagles' wings; They will run and not grow weary, walk and not grow faint. The first phase of the school was the input phase. We had different speakers speak on various topics. Were now moving into the outreach phase of the school. I felt prompted to write to joynet coz today we had a session on prolife by Vinay Kamath. I watched one of the most gut wrenching documentaries Ive ever seen on anti abortion. The name of the video is Eclipse of Reason. I heard someone in Mumbai has secured the rights to reproduce this film in India which otherwise is quite costly in USD. I dont know the details, but Im sure we can get them. Those of us into the prolife ministry. I feel it would be a wonderful idea to watch this film if possible. Well, Bangalore is a wonderful place with wonderful people. The climate hear is just heavenly. I get clean air to breathe. For a guy from Delhi this is a luxury. Theres a saying we commonly use in Delhi breathing in Delhi is injurious to health .. They say 1 day in delhi is like smoking 3 ciggaretes. I'll stop with one of the captions i saw in one of the prolife movies about Contraception/safe sex/AIDS abscence doesn't make the heart grow fonder but abstinence makes the heart beat longer! (this was in relation to the myth about using condoms as means for safe sex) I once again apologize for my silence and hope to cough up some mails soon. Dear friends in Christ, I'm Cuckoo from Cochin, Kerala. Those of u who don't know me, I was a student in St.Teresa's College, Cochin last year and is a now a Jesus Youth full-timer. I used to write to JOYnet regularly till my training started at Emmaus, Kalamassery in June. After that I had the oppurtunity to paricipate in the World Youth Days held in Toronto, Canada, in July. Our pilgrimage did not finish with that but continued on to France and Italy. Without doubt these count among the most beautiful months of my life, enriching and fulfilling to my soul. I was touched and awed by the wonder of experiencing Christ in a new way, through His people, His word and His sacraments. Throughout the journey we were reminded of a caring and loving Father, very much involved in every aspect of our journey. The Provider and Protector God. I experienced so many moments when my soul cried out spontaneously, inspired by the Holy Spirit, My Father!! I experienced the love of God in a new way. This experience has helped me in lots of subtle ways. Yesterday night, for instance, I'd made up my mind to rise very early to prepare and go for confession. Tough decision, since I HATE early mornings and my bicycle was in the workshop. I'd have to walk all the way. My lazy bones creaked at the thought :-) It'll be okay, I told myself. Morning came. I woke up to a gloomy, dark, dull, wet morning. Yuck! I instinctively wanted to go back under the covers. I reasoned very fairly, Many times I've gone there and 95% of the time the priest has been too busy to come for confession ( which is true, considering the fact that he had lots of things to do before mass). For a moment everything looked hopeless. Nevertheless I really wanted to go for confession, so I got up again and very humbly asked my Abba Father to ... well, that's a lie...I ORDERED Abba Father to keep the priest ready and fit to hear my confession :-)hahaha ( poor priest. Well, I risked it ( I understand it's a small thing for most of u, but it's a big thing for me...getting up early and walking in the cold and wet). And when I entered the church guess who was the first person I met?! The beloved priest! I had a beautiful confession and mass, went and said goodbye to my parish priest and sisters. It was far far better than I'd expected. He's so faithful... I would like to share my small experiences during these last few months, God willing and my fingers willing :-) I'll be going to Mysore tomorrow, where I'll be working as a full-timer this year. Dear All I more I share or Surrender the more the Bad Guy gets jealous. Yeaterday was a cool day. I had mailed about our Outreach Programme and as we have no JY Fulltimer here we had to go about to get things done. I was a bit worried about the money and the people. I told the Lord You See Lord,I cant do it all myself. .In the Afternoon Joshi a JY came and asked me how are we going to do this and about the amount. I could not straight talk about tithe as he is a new JY. When he asked me about the money I told him fully about it. Synu who is the Girls leader asked Are we not buying anything for them and we would do it like last time when all shared. He hears our prayers Oops isn't that a miracle Ron was having some problem in class and he has a habit of going around in the city for a walk to push off his troubles. In the evening I had asked him to go to church for confession. But as Fr.Johnson our Confessor was not there we went to the Canteen. I prayed that when I go to drop him back I would take him to the Ashram where Fr.Johson stays. I also told lordIts ur duty to see that Ron has a clergy to help him with his problems. We went and I was experiencing the MIRACLE OF MIRACLES. Johnson Achan was at the entrance and I was singing Our God Is an Awesome God. For the Outreach the Van Capacity was 23. We could not get the bigger one and the invitees are more than the capacity. So I told the Lord to take care and two have now pushed off as they have to go for an important prayer meeting. Please pray that only 23 comes. I am sure that it wont be more because OUR GOD IS AN AWESOME GOD Today whole time during the Holy Eucharist I was a bit worried about the program but each time Our ABBA father reminds me the words of St Paul to the Romans I CAN DO EVERYTHING THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME. He is there and he is all powerfull its only a matter of saying Hi God, I cant do it all alone. He justs wants you to say that. dear friends! its been a while since i've mailed to u all but have been going thru some of the maiils on joynet. i have been busy here with all sorts of work. but am fine by God's grace. i will be writing some important examinations from aug 12 till aug 16. honestly speaking i'm not one for studying and exams! hearing about exams gives me the shivers! please pray that i will be able to study well from today onward and rwite well. it is so important that i pass them because they are my registration exams and only if i pass will i be able to work next year. i will be given a post in my home place here, if i pass and i really need to start working now. its very cold here now and most of us in the dept prefer doing our work beneath blankets in our own rooms and near the heater! That was one of the the most traumatising moments of my life..the firsat time in my life i was without a job..doing nothing.. Then..and now I have the Lord ! I am here trying to find some cool stuffs, till kakka come back in action I know some of you dont read all mails, they wont understand what i am writing...so please excuse me if you dont understand what I write... Also here all are really helping each other. friends, last day I was searching for somebody from New Zealand and posted it in Joynet, now look at the mail from Naditha this place is pretty far from the place we stay but my mom plans to go to this place herself and check it out, but that would take her at least 3 days, OK? this is simply great !! i want to know about a company and even though it is far from her place, her mom is ready to go there and check it our. Look at this mail from Biji ... I hope that you continue to do it since we all have got too much used to pushing by others rather than self. Sanath Henry's poem is really touching, i wish if i get it little early when i was so discouraged and down. The begining itself is so touching and powerful. I REFUSE TO BE DISCOURAGED TO BE SAD OR EVEN CRY,I REFUSE TO BE DOWNHEARTED AND HERE IS THE REASON ON WHY; I HAVE A GOD WHO IS MIGHTY;WHO'S SOVEREIGN AND SUPREME,I HAVE A GOD WHO LOVES ME AND I AM ON HIS TEAM HE IS ALL- WISE AND POWERFUL;JESUS IS HIS NAME, Look today we have lot of sharing about power of prayer. Hiii, Thank you very much Mathew for introduciong me. So our Coordinator called me Leg Puller, let me start with pulling his legs :) When this Mathew giving all this instructions, advise, reminders etc we will be getting an idea about an Old animator like .(you can fill it with a local animator's name) or we might think that he is very serious guy etc etc. But the fact is very different, you can see a Hero Honda Bike flying over speed because he is always busy with many programmes. Hi friends, our Joynet is growing daily and Now we are 659 members in Joy net. i think half of this members joined this year. The beauty of this group is that even though most of the people never met each other face to face we have that love in this group. Other positive point I noticed is we have more listeners here than speakers Normally in our gatherings, there will be lot of people sharing them self and few will be listening... Now here it is opposite... Just imagine if all this 659 send 1 email to joynet one fine day. then our poor Hindhustani friends might have to spend half of the day to down load it :) last 6 months i was a silent listner of Joynet. there is some other reasons also behind it. Anyway Joynet was the only helping hand for me last 6 months. When I was fighting with God, when i tried to find out cruel face of God, When i cried out 'Lord you are far away from this World' God was answering me through Joynet. I thank God and to all my brothers and sisters for making this Community so beautiful... Now I am back in action here. My company is planning a new project here in Colombo and it is completely trusted on me. I came here to work for the company and now getting chance to invest with my Boss. God not counting my sins or drawbacks in life, when we do mistakes he is blessing more I realize even from our bad actions god can make good results. Some of you may not agree with me. but i experienced it last month. Dear Friends, Here, Joshua is dong fine. Today, we had the traditional 27/28 kettu. All our relatives had come and it was a quite a nice time. He is such a darling boy. Sofi is doing fine. She is having a tough time taking care of him. But she loves it. My sister, Reena has now the three babies she was carrying. The caesarian operation went well and due to all your prayers, the babies and the mother are doing fine. It is 2 boys and 1 girl. Thank you for all your prayers. I am not sure to what Christian sabha I belong! My grandfather belonged to the Orthodox and due to some misunderstanding with the church authorities; he switched over to Marthoma Sabha. I was born and Baptised in Marthoma. Later, in my teens my father switched back to Orthodox Sabha and we went with him (we didn’t affix any importance to that). I have taken communion in Orthodox Church. Our (my sisters and mine) religious life was nil and when it came to the point of marriage, we had to choose to go back to Marthoma Sabha. My brother in laws family wanted a Marthoma Girl only. All this while, I had no religious feelings. When I married Sofi, she has made such a big turn around in me that now I ask God before I venture out for anything. My greatest wish is to take the Holy Communion in the real way- after a proper confession. My greatest wish is also the union of all the sabhas back into the Holy Catholic Church. Though I am born and brought up in a protestant church, I now believe and pray in the Catholic way. I want to come back into the fold, but am unsure. Only if the Lord says to me to go back into the Catholic Church, I would. Now, I am a catholic believer, though a protestant. I am ardent believer of our most revered Virgin Mary, Our Mother. I had an argument with my cousin, who is a protestant over the intercessory prayers to saints. He says that only Jesus Christ has got the right and power to intercede. Now Humans (including our Mother Mary) have intercessory powers. Please clear my doubt. I want to know more about Saints and martyrs for Christ. Is there any website, which will inform me in the easiest manner regarding their lives. Two saints have really caught my mind and whole heart- St. Maria Goretti and St. Francis of Assissi. However I could try, I could and would never be able to come a million mine close to St. Francis of Assissi. Please pray for me that somebody will guide me through my spiritual growth. My wife Sofi is good guide, but now as she is resting from the pregnancy, she is tired. Is there anybody who can help me out? I am out of a Job by November 10th and now I am searching for a Job. All the earlier tension and sorrow has vanished because now I know that God didn’t want me to continue in the Job because it would have meant stagnation for me both career wise and spiritually. I know that When a Door is closed to me; God would open another for me. I am searching out for Jobs and please pray that I succeed soon. I am also desperate to attend an inner healing retreat. Years ago I had gone to Divine at Muringoor, and there since I was a protestant, I was not able to confess my sins to anyone at all. I felt so low, but confessed my sis to God directly hoping surely that I am pardoned. This is the same what I do now. Seems I am boring you all with all these banter.
