There are two issues here: 1. There should never be any more than one instance of an id on any one page so your query about being able to select multiple ID's is flawed by this. 2. So, I figured out a solution, but I am not even clear why it works (I
found an example buried in these forums.) It seams that if :search()
required quoted parameters and unquoted parameters implied a variable,
then it would be much more intuitive. I am somewhat new to jQuery. It
is amazing and actually fun to program in. But I am not that familiar
with all of the subtleties.
Can anybody tell me why this solution works? Also, it would be great
if someone could update the documentation to provide an example
of :contains() that has a variable being passed in.

I am trying to add a series of links to a div and then an a click
event to the links. If I append outside of the the .each() iteration
the link is matched by the click event handler. However, links
created within the loop are not matched by the click event handler.

the planned website.

Hi, I'm using the autocomplete script, and I like it a lot. script type=text/javascript src=javascript/interface.js/script script type=text/javascript src=javascript/iautocompleter.js/script But I want it to search not when I write in the input by hand but when I change the input with a script like this : var content = how are y ; $([EMAIL PROTECTED]).eq(0).focus().val(content); To lauch the autocompletion after my content is in the input, I still need to press a key (down arrow for instance), how can I emulate this to launch the autocompletion without touching the keyboard ?? I would like to modify this script so that when the user clicks on the
current active - displayed, open - DTA then the appropriate DD
will collapse/hide.
I suppose it should be something like this in pseudo-code:
if current.DT is the previous sibling of current visible DD
then click function() will close DD;
else click function() will open next sibling DD
Basically, when there is a lot of content in a given DD I want the
user to be able to click on the previous sibling DT A and it will
close that DD. This will prevent a lot of scrolling with some pages on
the planned website.

Is it because you're using div. instead of div#? You shouldn't
even need the div part at all. Try this instead:

forms of validation. My problem with regular expressions is that
there's no good way to convey what is a mask character and what is a

He fixed the bug for Mac/Firefox with the backspace key and got me to
open up the caret positioning functions. Thanks Felix!
Here are the changes for this release
* Fixed a bug in Mac Firefox with backspacing.
* Fixed a bug where delete at end of mask produced an extra
placeholder character.
* Exposed the caret positioning and retrieval methods as a jQuery
function extension. You can now call $().caret() to get a caret
position and $().caret(start [,end]) to set a caret position.

Hello Jacky, what reversion number of jquery you use? I was using the original 1.2.1 stable release: Rev: 3353 This was a change from changeset [3841]. There were some issues with deep copy and this was one of the changes to prevent the problems. The problem you are having should be fixed in [3985]. Hi guys, I have something like that planned for a long time. the current UI demo gallery features something quite similiar, but it doesn't operate in 3D, it only scales. There is only one possibility to create this effect using open web standards, that is by using he canvas element. However, right now, only the 2d context is supported in major browsers. Some days ago, a 3D context plugin was released with Firefox, and Opera has a certain build with a different 3D context implemention. i'm new to jquery and i'm very happy with it! Thaks to the developers!
I have a missing documentation hint. The datatype map, for example
used in $.get(url,data,callback) for data, is documented as Key/value
pairs that will be sent to the server.. What is missing is the
possibility to us an array as value. Looking thru the code told me,
that in this case the key will be repeated.
Using PHP at the serverside you can use the [] to declare the key as
array - known from checkboxes and multiple-selects.
Using:
var data={'key[]':[foo,bar]}
in jquery, would be:
$_GET['key'][0]=foo; $_GET['key'][1]=bar;
in PHP.
Maybe that hint is useful for someone or get's included to the documentation.

The problem is that I was coming across all sorts of display bugs in the PC version of Safari (version 3.0.3). I thought it was my implementation but then I checked the official site and found out that the demos on there don't work either. In my implementation the items usually start off showing but then end up spaced really far apart or disappearing completely when you scroll back and forth. I'm hoping somebody will have come across this bug before and know of a solution. If there isn't one then that's a shame because as far as I know it's the only carousel solution built using Jquery and my knowledge doesn't really stretch as far as being able to make my own :( Jon

You can insert an expression into the .next() to filter it further --
by class, tag name, id, whatever.
So, in your situation, you can do this:

If the next element isn't a dd, nothing will happen.

Thanks for the suggestion. The problem is that the page containing
the iframe is not using jquery. The user is clicking on a button on
the page inside the iframe and that page is where the jquery is being
executed from. What's extremely odd is that the animation for width
is working, it's just the animation for height which has no effect.
Hardcoding: $(#myVideo).css({width: 60px, height: 45px});
works fine. Could there be something peculiar about the way animate
targets the css element to be affected?

I'm trying to call animate on #myVideo to resize it when the user
clicks a button. When the page is viewed normally, it works great, but
when the page is viewed within an iframe the height doesn't seem to be
change. The animate code is:
$(#myVideo).animate({width: 60px, height: 45px}, {duration:
slow});
To make things a little more complicated, I'm using jmedia to embed the
video inside #myDT.
Has anyone else grappled with this issue? It seems that there were a
couple of questions in the past, but no solutions.
Any help would be much appreciated!

By using the event.identifier type binding, I'd be limiting my
plugin to 1.2.x+. I've never tried using bind with the paste and
input events. The solution that is in the plugin was the only way I
could make it work, but that was quite some time ago. I'll
investigate that further when I get home tonight. Can anyone confirm
if that would work or not?

I just released version 1.1.2 of my Masked Input Plugin for jQuery.
Felix Geisendörfer helped me mash out a few things with this release.
He fixed the bug for Mac/Firefox with the backspace key and got me to
open up the caret positioning functions. Thanks Felix!
Here are the changes for this release
* Fixed a bug in Mac Firefox with backspacing.
* Fixed a bug where delete at end of mask produced an extra
placeholder character.
* Exposed the caret positioning and retrieval methods as a jQuery
function extension. You can now call $().caret() to get a caret
position and $().caret(start [,end]) to set a caret position.
Please go check out the latest version

I'm new to jQuery, so please bear with me. I'm putting the jQuery logic in a separate file for the jQuery calendar: script src/js/jquery.js type=text/javascript/script script src/js/sdr/jquery-calendar.js type=text/javascript/ script And the css link rel=stylesheet type=text/css href/css/sdr/us/en/ hostessBookingTracker.css / link href/css/sdr/tabs.css rel=stylesheet type=text/css media=screen / link href=/css/sdr/jquery-calendar.css rel=stylesheet type=text/ css media=screen / and nothing happens. In our app we include all jquery/javascript code in our main page rather than loading more scripts via AJAX. We can then manipulate the new content (loaded via AJAX) using those already existing scripts, functions, etc. As far as binding events to this new content, we generally use the livequery plugin for that. [jQuery] Click through on stacked elements
I'm struggling to figure out a way to click through a series of stacked elements until I find one with my custom click handler. Is there an easy way to do this? For example I have a image of a US map and I want to put a clickable image behind it. When I click on the place where the image is behind (placed behind using the z-axis) I want the behind element with the bound click handler to fire. So far it doesn't seem to work with the US map image in front of the clickable element. If I put the clickable element in front of the map it works. Is there a way to chain through elements under the mouse and have the first with a bound click take the event? If I'm not being clear please let me know so I can explain in a different way. [jQuery] Re: Attribute Selector Docs Error?
I have been following the docs and using a very recent version of jQuery. The docs don't mention the @ thing at all and I was wondering why my selector didn't work... Well obviously I'll upgrade and leave out the @ but it would have been handy to learn this just by reading the docs... The docs are correct as of jQuery version 1.2. Previous versions use @. Actually, you can get by using @ even in 1.2, but it's deprecated.

arrow character and do:
