Cindy,

It sounds like you aren't defining the chapter options in the Publishing
Centre to include the relevant pictures.
Highlight the relevant chapter then click the Edit Settings for the
current Chapter button.

Is this a program glitch or am I not doing something required to

Resending as Carol requested.
Carol an alternative is to check the Archives
The link is at the bottom of each list email.

Carol,
The Pedigree Chart is a very formal chart with strict formatting.
If you request pictures they are included if there is room and they are
the size that fits in the room available.

There is nothing you can do about it.
I recently suggested to the programmer that picture option be removed
entirely from the Pedigree Chart because of this problem - but he
decided to leave them as is.

If you really want a nice chart with pictures, use Legacy Charting. You
can choose what information is in the boxes and the size of the boxes.

See the options on each of the items on the Appearance Ribbon.
If you want to prioritise the pics, start with the Mug Shot theme.
For any theme you can change the box items displayed.
You really do need to play with the various appearance options in Legacy
Charting to learn how to use it.
Each chart type has a default theme but you can change to others and you
can modify each one.

Adding to the excellent advice you have received from Cathy, I would
strongly suggest that you make res-sized copies of all your pictures.
Geoff did a webinar on this (the key words are "mug shots") but
unfortunately I am not currently able to access the PC on which I have
noted which webinar it was. But I would also recommend

http://www.easygensolutions.com/tute_msp-01.php

which is a tutorial on re-sizing photos as recommended by Geoff. It was
written by and I was told of it by an LUG contributor.

For what it's worth, I have "store" of original scanned photos on my
computer, high-resolution wherever possible and then I have all re-sized
mug shots stored in sub-folders (People, Graves, Churches, etc) in the
Media folder in the Legacy Family Tree folder heirarchy.

Gloria,

I am biased, so it's not useful for me to answer your question about which
software is better.

One major difference between the two programs is that with TNG, you upload a
GEDCOM file to a server and it creates pages when they are needed. That
provides some benefits, like the ability to generate some dynamic content that
is difficult to create otherwise, but it means you need to install TNG on a
server before you can use it, or you must use a hosting service that supports
TNG.

With GedSite, the pages are made on your own PC, you can review them the pages
in your browser, and when you are happy with them, you upload them to a server.
There is no special software required on the web server. If you want, you can
distribute sites privately via DVD. Some people do not distribute the pages at
all; they use GedSite to create web sites for their own use.

GedSite will create narrative output, or a mix of narrative and tabular output,
and I don't think TNG will do that, but someone who knows TNG better than I do
may correct me about that.

 Hi, Brian!

Thanks for asking this question. I don't use the BMD options for
exactly this reason -- as attachments go, it really is a black hole. It
would be great to be able to compartmentalize the documents and photos for
these "events" rather than just plop them in the individual's general photo
area. However, since Legacy reports only use the preferred photo, that
isn't really the best solution, either.

I use TNG for my website, and it does show all the public attachments
(from the individual's photo area), so often I end up checking my website

I'd love to hear about work-arounds that others have come up with for

Re: [LegacyUG] Pictures attached to Vital Info (BMD)

2017-03-19 Thread John Cardinal
Brian,

I do not know if there is a way to have Legacy include BMD pictures in its
report and/or HTML output.

My GedSite program builds websites from GEDCOM data. If you export a GEDCOM
file from Legacy, and it includes images attached to any event, BMD
included, the image will appear in the web site.

I just did a test using the Legacy sample database. I attached an image to
Albert J. Randall's birth, then exported a GEDCOM file. I built a site using
GedSite, and the image was included in his entry, as expected. I did the
test to confirm that Legacy would include the image info in the GEDCOM file.

When you make a site with GedSite, the site is created on your own PC and
you can review it there before you share it with anyone else.

You can read about GedSite here:

The list was really designed to be user helping user. More for
"how-to" questions than actual support needs. Same with Facebook.

Whenever you have a technical issue with Legacy, it's always best to
email Support directly using the Problem Report Form Cathy pointed you
to.

Dave,

There's a link on the Legacy Home tab and the Help Ribbon Tab to submit
bug reports (support ticket) and to submit suggestions.

Don't count on them being picked up from this list.
(and for those who are paranoid about Facebook - people there are always
being told to contact support or submit a suggestion.)

I seem to remember the caption appearing on the picture In descendant

This is the same for main picture of the person, as well as event picures.

Obviously a setting I have forgotten to change.

When you hover over the uncaptioned picture you do get the file name
appearing, bottom left. But the file name is not always the caption of
the picture.

You are able to enlarge the picture , but still no caption.

Another question is are you able to include the description field of a

I often put an explanation of the selected picture in this box.

June,
Your computer and Legacy are doing precisely what you've told it to do.

It seems you haven't set in Legacy Options - Customise 6.2 to your Legacy
Photographs folder in the Pictures folder.
This means Legacy's tool to help you keep your media gathered together kicks in
and when you go to attach a photo it asks if you want it copied to your Default
Media Folder - the one at 6.2. If you haven't changed it that will be
Documents/Legacy Family Tree/Media.

When asked you've been saying Yes. You should either have been saying No
because you already have the photo in the folder you want it in OR you
should have set 6.2 to your particular media folder.

To recover, if in File Explorer/Windows Explorer you move the media in
Documents/Legacy Family Tree/Media to your Legacy Photographs folder,
and let Windows tell you whether it is already there and don't move
those items, then you can delete everything in Documents/Legacy Family
Tree/Media and set 6.2 to your Legacy Photographs folder and everything
should be linked properly.
Run the Media Relinker to find out and if there are broken links follow
the directions. If the process finds more than one copy, make sure you
choose the one in your Legacy Photographs folder.

If you're nervous of losing stuff, make sure you have backups of these
folders on an external drive before you start. You should have that
backup anyway so make sure it is up to date.

Re: [LegacyUG] Pictures for Locations and Sources

2015-02-28 Thread Cathy Pinner
Hi Nancy and others interested,

When entering media to a different place within Legacy or a new type of
information, always check your output method before entering a lot of data.

As Chap says, Location and Source pictures aren't much good/any good in
Reports - so if that's where you want them, then think again.

However, if you are headed towards web pages then source pictures are
fine. I'm not sure about Location pictures. I don't think they show up
in any output unless they do if you export a gedcom and use TNG for
creating webpages.

My major output is reports. I only add source images if I want quick and
easy access to a source or it's quicker and easier than transcribing the
source. I don't attach census images to sources or church register pages
but at the moment I'm dealing with the Biographical Index for South
Australians which is densely packed with cryptic entries in 3 columns.
It's much quicker to take a photo of the relevant entry and include that
than it is to transcribe. Here's the one for my great great grandfather
that I transcribed years ago so you can see the point:
CRAIG James b: 1804 SCT d: 25.11.1862 Morphett Vale SA arr: 1839 INDIA
occ: Farmer res: Adelaide, Noarlunga, Morphett Vale
m: Janet Hunter nee HOUSTON b: 6.10.1811 Glasgow SCT d: 10.9.1893
Adelaide SA
ch: Anne Baird CLARK (1831-), Robt, Janet Bell, Jessie ANDERSON
(1837-1923), Eliza Frances MUDGE, RASMUS (c1844-1929), Agnes ADAMS, Jas
Houston (1846-1915), Mgt HUMPHRIS (1849-1929), Mary LAWRIE (1853-1923),
Archibald
[a note of warning about this source. It's not sourced and is a real
mixture of good information and family memory which was often faulty.
James Craig had 12 children and the order is somewhat different.]

Location photos - I do add location images if I have a better map of
exactly where something was (I include addresses in my locations) or if
I have an historic map that shows the name of the place as many
locations have disappeared or changed name.
And I add location pics to Repository Addresses that show the exact
location and where the parking is.
However I don't think they show up in any output unless they do if you
export a gedcom and use TNG for creating webpages.

If I want a picture of a house or church or whatever that was important
in the family, then I add it only (or as well) to either an Individual
or Marriage event.

Anyway, the point of this email:
When entering media to a different place within Legacy or a new type of

2015-02-28 Thread Jay Wilpolt
Nancy,

For photos of where people lived I use the Residence Event and attach the
image to that
and adding the date span like bet 1900-1925

I have a great uncle who built 'very' large barns that were often pictured
in the newspaper. So in I create an Occupation event for each one, listing
his occupation as Builder and attach the photo to that , again specifying
the date range and place location.

Hope that helps

but at the moment I'm dealing with the Biographical Index for South
Australians which is densely pack ed with cryptic entries in 3 columns.
James
Craig had 12 children and the order is somewhat different.]

Location photos - I do add location images if I have a better map of
exactly where something was (I in clude addresses in my locations) or if I
have an historic map that shows the name of the place as many locations
 have disappeared or changed name.
And I add location pics to Repository Addresses that show the exact
location and where the parking is.
However I don't think they show up in any output unless they do if you
export a gedcom and use TNG for creating webpages.

If I want a picture of a house or church or whatever that was important
in the family, then I add it only (or as well) to either an Individual or
 Marriage event.

Anyway, the point of this email:
When entering media to a different place within Legacy or a new type of
information, always check your output method before entering a lot of data.

RE: [LegacyUG] Pictures

2015-02-19 Thread Michele/Support
Lynne,
You will need to download your tree as a gedcom file. Here are the
instructions from the TribalPages website
https://tribalpages.com/trails/ugedcom.html

You can then import the gedcom into Legacy. Your attached images will not
transfer. This is a limitation of the gedcom protocol. You will need to
download the images to your hard drive and then link to them in Legacy.

RE: [LegacyUG] Pictures

2015-02-19 Thread Paul Gray
I wasn’t familiar with Tribal Pages so I went to their website and forum. See
the link below for a posting that seems to address your question.

The short answer appears to be ‘No’. The posting is referring to a ‘Backup
GEDCOM’ and seems to imply that the Tribal Pages GEDCOM does not accommodate
pictures. That makes sense because all a GEDCOM does for pictures is provide a
link to the picture, and that picture is on their site. If it is on your
computer as well (Legacy, and most desktop programs require the picture to be
on your local computer) , Tribal Pages doesn’t know where it is so it could not
include it their GEDCOM.

http://www.tribalpages.com/tribe/forum?f=1
http://www.tribalpages.com/tribe/forum?f=1v=1mid=77550rid=77530
v=1mid=77550rid=77530

Legacy should be able to import the GEDCOM assuming it’s in the proper format,
but I think the pictures need to be linked manually to the copy you have on
your own computer. If the pictures are only stored online, it would be a
separate process to download them from TP and I can’t answer how that would be
done.

But welcome to Legacy! I think you have some conversion challenges, but you
will be quite happy (I hope) with Legacy when you complete the conversion.

I’m not familiar with Tribal Pages but Legacy will only display on reports one
“preferred” picture per event even if you have attached a dozen pictures. There
is a workaround in that some users create an event called Photo and attach a
picture to that. Let’s say that you have 5 photos of your grandfather as he was
growing up. One Photo event is dated 1880, another photo event is dated 1900,
another is dated 1910….. You get the picture. PTP

The default location for your media files is Documents\Legacy Family
Tree\Media. You don’t have to put your files there if you don’t want to but
that is where the default is set up. You can have subfolders inside this
folder if you like (I do).

The one reason someone might want to put their pictures directly on the C:
drive in a dedicated folder is if they have a deep subfolder structure. This
will cut out several levels.

What you don’t want is your media files scattered all over your hard drive.

Nancy,

If you link to a photo outside of the Media folder you will be a popup box
asking you want you want to do. You have the option to copy the photo to the
Media folder and then Legacy will link to that photo (not the original one) or
you can tell Legacy to leave the file where it is and link to it there.
Whatever option you choose, you can tell Legacy to remember your choice for the
rest of the current session.

If the photo is already in the Media folder (even if it is in a subfolder) you
won’t get this message.

You could put all the pictures in one folder or put them in any structure of
folders and sub-folders you wish. Then run the Relinker. If the actual file
names have not changed, the Relinker should be able to find them and fix the
link to them. Once you have all media relinked, then you can backup the data
and media. Delete the media folders if you don't need the pictures for
anything else. Then unzip the backup media file to the C:\ and it will lay
down the folders and files as they were at the time of the backup. Only the
linked files will be in the backup. So, if you had 10,000 picture files that
you copied from the Mac to the PC and only 5,000 of them were linked to the
Reunions file, you should only have 5,000 on the PC when you finish with the
Relinker, Backup, Delete, and restore.

Donna,

You may have been linking to media files that were inside a zipped file which
is a special kind of folder. That method was addressed recently by some users
on this group and it helped to resolve several problems. The conclusion was to
not do that. Always link to media that is not in a compressed folder. Other
than that, you can place your media files just about anywhere you wish, link to
them, and be happy. I like to put my media files in a root level folder
because I collaborate with several other researchers. Some of those
researchers still use Windows XP while others use Vista, Windows7, and
Windows8. With a root level folder like C:\Collaborator1 it is easy for
collaborator 1 to put whatever media they want in that folder and not be
concerned with other collaborators messing with their collection.
Collaborator2 likewise has their own collection folder and so forth. The
collaborators can make any sub-folders they need under their root level folder.
The Legacy backup of media only puts the media files into the backup for the
database being backed up. The only precaution with this method is to not use
the Gather Media routine as it will move all the media to some other location
regardless of the various collaborators who collected it and kept it
separately. The Gather routine probably does work for a single researcher that
does not collaborate.

Re: [LegacyUG] pictures

2014-08-04 Thread Sherry/Support
It's broken. The programmers will get it fixed but I don't know when.

A graphic file can be linked to several individuals quickly using the
Picture Center. It doesn't handle other types though.

Pictures and other media files have *always* been linked to in Legacy and
you have always had to keep the files available to the program, i.e., where
they were when you linked them.

If you put them on a flash drive, you have to keep the flash drive plugged
in when you're using Legacy. Also, you run the risk of the drive breaking
or getting lost or stolen. I know of people who have lost everything on a
flash drive because the wires to the plug broke (they were designed for
transporting data between computers, not for storing data permanently).

Pictures have to be on the computer. If you have them stored in Dropbox,
Skydrive or something similar, you link to the pictures in the Dropbox or
Skydrive folder on your computer. Legacy's file paths don't access the
internet.

You might want to contact Support and ask one of the techs to work with you
on this.

Sherry

down the folders and files as they were at the time of the backup.  Only the
linked files will be in the backup.  So, if you had 10,000 picture files that
you copied from the Mac to the PC and only 5,000 of them were linked to the
Reunions file, you should only have 5,000 on the PC when you finish with the
Relinker, Backup, Delete, and restore.

Ron, thanks for the informed answer.  It makes a little more sense now. You are

Should I place all of the media I have previously linked in there, transferring
from their location to the new one?  Will I have to relink again after doing so?

Thanks again for your response.

Donna,
You may have been linking to media files that were inside a zipped file which
is a special kind of folder.
The
collaborators can make any sub-folders they need under their
root level folder.  The Legacy backup of media only puts the media files into
the backup for the database being backed up.  The only precaution with this
method is to not use the Gather Media routine as it will move all the media to
some other location regardless of the various collaborators who collected it
and kept it separately.  The Gather routine probably does work for a single
researcher that does not collaborate.

Re: [LegacyUG] pictures

2014-07-19 Thread Ron Taylor
The media that was linked to Legacy 7.5 database should still be linked when
the file is converted to Legacy 8.  If you are moving the media files to
another location, then the Relinker should be able to find those media files
and fix the links.

It sounds like you have copied the media files to a new location.  If that is
true, be sure to disconnect the former drive or delete the former folders.
Otherwise, they will be found by the Relinker and those pictures will be linked
instead of the new ones you created.

If you changed any of the media file names, then you have a problem.  Relinker
is only searching for the exact same file name and then it will fix the path to
that file if it is found.

Have you run the Tool Media Relinker to fix those 1128 missing photos?

Have you set Option 6.2 to your default media folder? This is the parent
folder of your sub-folder system. If your media isn't in a set of
sub-folders to a parent folder but in a number of unconnected folders,
you may want to rearrange before running the Media Relinker.

Then, when adding a new picture, if it isn't already in the Default
Media Folder you've designated at Option 6.2 you have the choice of
moving or copying it to that folder OR on another tab of that dialogue
to any other folder - which is the way to make sure it's in the
 appropriate sub-folder.

I have just loaded one of the family files to Legacy 8. The pictures
did not all make the switch. I just attempted to add a picture using
the picture center and I had to go through a number of steps, much
different than Legacy 7.5, which was really easy. Downloaded a
picture, filed it in Legacy Pictures/Pictures, and then had a separate
folder for different events; ie marrage records was one. I don’t seem
to be able to do that in 8. Am I missing something? I saved the
picture to Legacy Pictures/Pictures on a separate drive(which is
normal), then couldn’t get a secondary folder for it. Then added the
picture. But when I went back it wasn’t there. I had to go in a
relink the pictures again. Which still shows 1128 missing photos or
documents. Can anyone give me some assistance?

I tried to combine all of the media locations in customize 6.2 and ended up
with more media files missing, I am now up to 1899. What am I doing wrong now?
Can you give me a detailed step by step to accomplish my task. I am beginning
to feel very stupid on this. Legacy has always been very user friendly and I
have recommended it to lots of people because of that feature. Now I am
stumped, read the chapter in the book and looked at the help section, still at
a loss. I also think I now screwed up by combining all of the media files.

I have just loaded one of the family files to Legacy 8. The pictures
did not all make the switch. I just attempted to add a picture using
the picture center and I had to go through a number of steps, much
different than Legacy 7.5, which was really easy. Downloaded a
picture, filed it in Legacy Pictures/Pictures, and then had a
separate folder for different events; ie marrage records was one. I
don’t seem to be able to do that in 8. Am I missing something? I
saved the picture to Legacy Pictures/Pictures on a separate
drive(which is normal), then couldn’t get a secondary folder for
it. Then added the picture. But when I went back it wasn’t there.
I had to go in a relink the pictures again. Which still shows 1128
missing photos or documents. Can anyone give me some assistance?

Re: [LegacyUG] pictures

2014-07-17 Thread Ron Taylor
The most important key to media files is to be certain that each media file has
a unique file name.  I like to name the files with this pattern

Surname, Given name - short description

Two media files should never have the same name even if they are in different
folders...thus fulfilling the unique rule.

The files can reside in any folder structure but it is best to keep the
structure simple.  The filename can be 255 characters and the path to the file
can be 255 characters.  Simple folder and sub-folder structures can be used as
long as the total length of the path is less than 255.

The default location for media files in Legacy 8.0.0.427 using Windows
Vista/7/8 is

C:\Users\Username\Documents\Legacy Family Tree\Media

and the default for Windows XP is

C:\Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\Legacy Family Tree\Media

where Username is the Login account name.

That works well for someone that does not plan to collaborate with anyone and
wants media to be stored in the default location.  For a Legacy user that is
collaborating with other Legacy users, a better method is to have a root level
folder assigned to each collaborator.  Then each collaborator collects media
files into the folder assigned to them.  All collaborators are instructed to
only alter files in their assigned folder.  In their folder, they can change
filenames, sub-folder structures, etc. without affecting files collected by
other collaborators.  An example of these root level folders might be

C:\DonnaMM
C:\GladeMM
C:\GordonMM
C:\RonMM

where MM stands for Multimedia.  But any other root level folder name would
suffice.

The one new function in v8 Legacy that can cause problems with the above
collaborator scenario is the new Gather Media routine.  It will pull copies
of the media files from where they currently reside and place the copies into
the default media folder regardless of who collected them or how they were
structured.  Therefore, Gather Media is not a good idea for collaborators.

Once all media files have been successfully linked to Legacy, they can be moved
(not renamed) to other folder structures as desired.  Then the Media Relinker
can relocate them and fix the links.  The Relinker cannot find file names that
have been changed.  If a media file needs to be renamed, it is best done in
Legacy with the Picture CenterRename because after the file name is changed,
the link will be retained.

have recommended it to lots of people because of that feature.  Now I am
stumped, read the chapter in the book and looked at the help section, still at
a loss.  I also think I now screwed up by combining all of the media files.

Thank you Cathy, I will try what you have suggested in the morning. My drive
with the media in it is attached, but it doesn't seem to have found it.  Could
it be because it was associated only with Legacy 7.5 and I used sub folders.

You say your attached media is on a separate drive. I assume that

that is your first problem. Legacy links to media - that media must be
 available.

Have you run the Tool Media Relinker to fix those 1128 missing photos?

Have you set Option 6.2 to your default media folder? This is the
parent folder of your sub-folder system. If your media isn't in a set
of sub-folders to a parent folder but in a number of unconnected
folders, you may want to rearrange before running the Media Relinker.

Then, when adding a new picture, if it isn't already in the Default
Media Folder you've designated at Option 6.2 you have the choice of
moving or copying it to that folder OR on another tab of that dialogue
to any other folder - which is the way to make sure it's in the
 appropriate sub-folder.

I'm not sure I've covered all your queries but hope that helps.

Hello, I don't care for the boxes with the male and female figures in them so

Is there a way to do that?

Yes I realize that the size of the pictures are off.  But where do I find the
right size and proportion to use?  I don't see it in the help file.

[LegacyUG] Pictures in Pedigree View

2014-04-04 Thread Barb Weed
I like to have a photo of the person on the pedigree view.  I do not like the
silly box with the silhouettes.  I have clicked not to use the place saver
boxes on the pedigrees.  But when there is a picture available it showes up
with a box around it and if the picture is not the same size as the box there
is a white area around it.  Looks awful.  How can I get pictures to appear with
out the box around it as it was in 7.5 or can the box backgrund be the same
color as the name box.  Otherwise what is the proper size for my pictures to
fill the box.

[LegacyUG] Pictures

2014-03-23 Thread Pat Hickin
In the past I have had two family files (paternal side; maternal side).
Recently I merged the two files after much urging from Leg users on this
list.

All my pictures are stored in one of two folders which I'll call Patlpics
and Matlpics.and both of which I keep in DropboxPhotos

Legacy cannot find them automatically. In fact it doesn't even BEGIN to
look in the right folder. Why it doesn't go immediately to one of the two
folders in my list of (2) media default folders I cannot for the life of me
imagine.

When we FINALLY get to the right folder it finds the right picture without
a problem.

I have a total of c2000 images.

How can I get Legacy to recognize these with a minimum of work on my part?

Thanks,
Pat

Re: [LegacyUG] Pictures

2014-03-23 Thread Cathy Pinner
Hi Pat,

Well done on merging your files.

To solve your picture problem.

1) Make a parent folder for the picture folders
in Dropbox and make that your Default Media Folder in Legacy.
So that you have ...Dropbox/All
pics/Patlpics/... and ...Dropbox/All pics/Matlpics/...

2) Run the Media Relinker (on the Tools Ribbon)
on the Drive which the Dropbox folder is on -
note the button to choose which drives to search.
You can't narrow it more than that - just go and
get a cuppa while it does the scan.

You may have to identify a number of the photos
in the Media Relinker but nowhere near 2000 of them.

Isn't this a Windows thing? Locate the image in Windows Explorer, right-click
 on
it and from the context menu select Rotate clockwise or Rotate Anticlockwise
 as
 appropriate.

Uh, no, not a WIN issue for a change, Mike, because I just

the image with the same name it had and thus overwrite the

Hi Cheryl,

Go to the folder where the wrong attached photo is located, click on the wrong
photo, then select to move the photo into another folder on your computer.

Go to the person or event that the wrong photo was attached to and you will
noticed that the photo is now missing, click on the missing photo box, on the
next screen select to look for the file yourself, go the the folder where the
right photo is located and select the correct photo.

You can then return the wrong photo to the same folder if you wish.

I think you are misreading the message. I just checked in 7.4 build
7.4.0.6 and the remove button message clearly says the file will not be
erased.

[LegacyUG] pictures -- unlinking

2014-01-17 Thread singhals
I was using L7.4 today to help someone else. We needed to
unlink a photo I had accidentally chosen -- we wanted the
portrait orientation not the landscape ;) -- and I couldn't
find a way to do that.

I checked the HELP file and it didn't. It gives directions
for deleting the photo from the disc. No, don't want to do
that, we need to keep the landscape for the purpose of
taking it to the mall and making prints.

IS there a way to unlink a photo? Details would be appreciated.

Not sure if this will still work back in 7.4 (update to v8 - the basic
version is free)
but how to do it it 8 is
left click on photo
then right click on photo
select cut

this removes it from the person and holds it in the photo clipboard so you
can paste it to another person if needed.

Hi Cheryl,

When you are in the Picture Gallery or Media Gallery - not sure what
it was called in 7.4 - highlight the picture you want to unlink and
click the Remove button in the right side panel. That just removes the link.

2014-01-17 Thread R G Strong-genes
Or you go to the Media Center and find the picture you attached and go to that
person’s Attached Photos tab and click the Remove button, highlight the correct
individual and click Attach. If you had captions or anything first copy them
from the Attached photo tab and put them on the first tab so that when you
attach it to the new person the caption and other stuff is attached also.

Isn't this a Windows thing? Locate the image in Windows Explorer, right-click on
it and from the context menu select Rotate clockwise or Rotate Anticlockwise as
appropriate.

[LegacyUG] Pictures don't show up

2013-06-24 Thread Kirstin
All of the sudden pictures don't show up in my Legacy. I am using Legacy
7.5 Deluxe on a Windows 7 computer. I can open the picture in an outside
program and it shows up fine. When I try to look at a picture in either
the Picture Center or Picture Gallery I see a bank square. I have tried
running repair several times, shut down and rebooted the computer, and
reinstalled Legacy. I couldn't find anything in the tech support web
pages. Any ideas?
