RE: Movie transparency
That's what I'm trying to do, but it goes back to my original question, when I key out the background in after effects the background color shows through, but I want transparency and not a background color, and AFX doesn't have an option to set the background to transparent, and I'd rather not do it manually for thousands of images. Anyone know how to do this in After effects or how to do it in another app? Re: window.forget stops sound?
1. this only happens for sounds in channels 3-8 - sounds playing in channels 1 & 2 are allowed to continue. Nyet. It happens in channel 1 too on my machine. D8, WinNT 4 SP6, hacked version of DirectX 5 to make it run on WinNT. I've placed an internal sound member on the score and set it to looping. Haven't tried channel 2 yet. Thanks Buzz, but unfortunately that doesn't do it for me. It assumes that you know how many hot spots you have, or at least the highest numbered hotspot. This has the advantage of the stage actually knowing that it's playing a sound in that channel (sound().isBusy() becomes true). RE: setting text to EMPTY
Check out the .rtf property of a text member. So if you set a text member to Arial, Bold 14 you get this stored in the .rtf property. If you store that in a global or property in a Behavior and use it to reset the text member you will maintain your styling. {\rtf1\ansi\deff0 {\fonttbl{\f0\fswiss Arial;}}{\colortbl\red0\green0\blue0;\red0\green0\blue224;\red224\green0 \blue0;\red224\green0 \blue224;}{\stylesheet{\s0\fs24 Normal Text;}}\margl1800 \margr1800 \margt1440 \margb1440 \pard \f0\fs24{\b\fs28\par }} Hope that helps Kevin Boyd Multimedia Creations Ltd. Re: sound(1).play() queues AND plays?
Better yet, if I knew how to "watch" (in Lingo, e.g. in exitFrame) the progress of playback in the series of currently queued sounds. Look at sound getplaylist. That should list the remaining queued sounds. When it changes, a new sound just started to play. RE: Can I use a xtra so I won't have to install Quicktime?
You are confusing QuickTime with video playback. If you want to just play MPEG or AVI's then the directMedia Xtra can do that but it will only work on PC's with DirectX installed (pretty much all PC's have this though NT4 might not) and does not require QuickTime. If you want to play back Sorenson via this Xtra you must make sure they have the codec installed for this on their PC, you can probably get an installer for it somewhere . The directMedia Xtra web site is http://xtras.tabuleiro.com -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Tab Julius Sent: 30 January 2003 12:13 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Can I use a xtra so I won't have to install Quicktime? RE:Miaw transparent / close opening movie
hi all, I've got a movie which opens a transparent background miaw and I have two question to ask. 1. I have a forget() command on the miaw and would also like to close the movie which opened it at the same time? 2. I would also like to have sliding panels that open on the fly in the traz/background miaw. is it possible to somehow animate the 1bit mask member to copy the changes I would make to the interface. I haven't done any imaging lingo but have looked at the coypixel command and believe it may be possible?? any ideas/help/samples thanks in advance. window.forget stops sound?
Has anyone ever had problems with forgetting windows and the sound stopping? I have a single frame movie, with an internal sound member placed in channel 1 in the score. The sound is set to looping. But if I forget a MIAW, then the sound stops playing. Here's my code from the message window - -- Welcome to Director -- x = window("dummy") x.modal = TRUE x.Open() x.Close() x.Forget() <-- Poof!
