The US Civil War was about more than slavery. At that time the main federal
tax was import duties. The south, having little ability to manufacture
goods paid a very disproportionate share of these taxes while the north made
a lot of their own stuff and didn't need many imports. Lincoln's
emancipation proclamation was a political move that only freed slaves in the
south while any slaves in the north (still slaves under Dred-Scott) were not
effected. The primary result was to push back open support for the south in
Europe and the UK who were then anti-slave. Practically speaking, slavery
was already doomed in the US because machines would be more economical in a
just a few years. The real issue was secession and slavery was just one
factor. The south believed that they because they joined the union
voluntarily and could also leave if they wanted to. The constitution was
silent (and still is) on that issue. Lincoln believed that the union would
continue to fragment (like Germany) over every little issue once the
precedent was set so, despite much political resistance in the north, he
went to war to keep the union intact. By any measure, it was the worst war
in US history. One wonders how the history of the world would be different
if the south had been allowed to secede.

Yeah I know that 'rule of law' thing is a bummer, especially when the US
has to set up a concentration camp in Cuba (of all places, perhaps they
put it on an old disused missile site) and then kidnap people from all
over the world and torture them there.
Apparently a couple of Oz citizens where 'invited' there as well. Of
course the British being cultured and having a rule of law, made a big
noise about their citizens being there and I suppose have a bit of clout
in Washington and their people got let go pretty quick. Now we are a bit
more laid back and trusting I suppose and believed that the people being
held in the camp where big terrorists and this was all part of winning
the war on terror. However our patience did grow a bit thin after a
while (years) and the former PM had an election coming up and finally
worked up the courage to ask George if it would be possible to do
something about the guests of the US of A (ooh sorry that should be
guests of the socialist republic of Cuba) (oooh double sorry that should
be guests of the US military). All of a sudden a secret trial/military
tribunal was organized and the person in question got released into Oz
custody to do a few more months in the local jail and is not allowed to
talk about any of this to anyone, otherwise we might have to let the US
kidnap him again.

Anyway if the South didn't want a war, all they had to do was to act
civilized and abolish slavery. Now you might be OK with some states of
the Union stealing people from Africa and forcing them to work for
nothing and thereby denying them their basic human rights (apparently
there is something about the rights of people in the constitution) but
apparently the southern states did not read the constitution or felt it
did not apply to them in that regard.
My guess is that Lincoln felt the south was governed by people who went
against the constitution and as such the war was justified in his view.
Perhaps Lincoln really believed that America was the land of the free,
as opposed to having underclasses of people with lesser rights.

Now as far as that Holocaust denier goes, for one thing he was warned
that if he didn't stop his stuff he would have the book thrown at him.
He was well aware that he was violating German law and that the British
where not going to hide him.
Now are you going to maintain your stance that he was kidnapped or was
he legally extradited?
My take is that he is an embarrassment to the Australian nation and as
long as everything is legal (including the right to a fair trial in an
timely manner) they can stick him in jail for as long as they want and I
don't think anyone in Oz will even care. He is an idiot saying stupid
things to stir up trouble or whatever his plans are, whilst saying
stupid things is not against the law here, it is in Germany.

Far as I am concerned Lincoln was caught between a rock and a hard place.

So if Iran, North Korea and others have a policy of developing nuclear
weapons they should (according to the average American) be able to do this?
I am not even going to mention the once former sovereign nations of Iraq
 and Afghanistan.

The argument that slavery would have naturally stopped because of
mechanization is fanciful at best. They still need people to operate
machines and work in factories and clean houses and cook food and all the
other jobs that require labor. As a side note, 20 years ago I had a holiday
job chipping cotton, with a hoe walking up and down cotton rows getting rid
of weeds. I think now they have selective herbicides to do this but there is
still a truck load of work to do on a farm.

There a million what if the south has gone it alone, however one to ponder
is WW2 in which the south may well have sided with the Axis, thus making
things very interesting. The US of A may well not have developed an A bomb,
whereas the USSR might have, giving us a very interesting (and perhaps
 short) cold war.

Now we can all sit back and ponder the world we have today, it might not be
perfect but it could be a hell of a lot worse.

Well said Mitch. There have been two VERY shocking things that have occurred in
these two debates. The first is the spread the wealth around issue - which
people are actually talking about. AND Obama's answer to the question about
whether Health Care is a right, a privilege, or a responsibility. Obama said
it was a right.

Do you all realize what a MASSIVE shift that would be in our government. If
health care is a right, then the government must provide it to everyone. If you
don't have it, then the government must pay for it - i.e. guarantee your right
to it. This single comment demonstrates unequivocally Sen. Obama's political
philosophy. He is a socialist. I am not being dramatic or alarmist. This is
one of the foundational philosophies of socialism. The government must provide
for your health and welfare (which of course our constitution refers to also -
but NO ONE other than the few socialists candidates have espoused such a
radical idea). This is a seductively simple idea to just say it off the cuff,
the way Senator Obama did. The sheep who were watching the debate did not even
understand the HUGE leap in philosophy this simple little idea represents. The
media didn't even blink. I bet most people have idea that he said it and no
idea that it matters what his answer was.

[MBZ] Was OT: Is Barack Obama a US Citizen? - flag pin, now Our Entitlement Culture

2008-10-20 Thread Tom Hargrave
The issue is not math, the issue is a general lack of willingness to work.
They would rather sit in front of the tube with their bud-lite chips than
go out get a second job or an education to better themselves.

Now, I have no problem with the Earned Income Credit program in principal.
Kaleb's family probably qualifies because of the number of children they now
have, but Kaleb works! He has a day job he peddles used Mercedes parts on
the side!

My issue is that, like the family members I mentioned in my example, the
plan enables laziness builds an entitlement culture! Both families I
mentioned were fully capable of working extra hours making much more than
they netted with EIC but they chose not to. And now they have trained their
children to do the same thing. In other words, the EIC program has fostered
a second generation who would rather suck dollars out of the system than go
to work.

The issue is one of culture and I'm afraid we are building a even larger
entitlement culture with many millions of hands reaching out to the Federal
Government for money.

This is the exact reason I am not voting for Obama. His entire career has
been composed of programs designed to help the poor by stealing from the
rich. And I'm sure that to some percentage, his programs have been a great
success, but at what cost to our society? Do we need more Government
handouts? Do we need to tax the rich give to the poor create an even
larger entitlement culture than we have now?

Thanks,
Tom Hargrave

They don't do math very well, do they -- they'd be far better off
working in a better job than keeping the earned income credit. Same
with TANF, etc. I place the blame on the parents who didn't value a
good education. No, it's not the schools fault - it's the parents.

But the damage runs even deeper I have proof. Years ago, two of my
Sister in'laws their families refused to improve their financial
position by finding better paying jobs for fear of loosing their Earned
Incom Credit. When the kids aged out moved on, they lost their Earned
Income Credit both families were very bitter about the loss - they
believed and still believe that the Government owed it to them.

Now the children of both families are having babies are doing the
exact same thing! To-date 3 nieces 1 nephew belonging to these two
families qualify draw and when I pose the do you want to find a
better job question to them, I get the same response I got from their
 parents!

So, who's for weath redistribution in this country? Not Me!!!

[MBZ] Gov. Palin was: Re: OT: Is Barack Obama a US Citizen?

Scott R. wrote: Why is Sarah less qualified than other governor candidates,
say Bill Clinton or Jimmy Carter? Categorically, I would think someone with
executive experience would be more qualified to be president than someone who

Good question Scott.

Here is a letter to the editor of our local that was published a few weeks ago
that asks some of the same questions. (I think the author this letter must be a
genius).

Dear Editor,

I am writing to you after having read the editorial by Davis Merrritt. His
editorial is distorted, lacking in intellectual honesty, and ignorant of
history. Mr. Merritt criticizes Governor Sarah Palin because she lacks foreign
policy experience. In fact, after hearing the Charlie Gibson interview, Mr.
Merritt concluded that the choice of Governor Palin was reckless and cynical.
I think, despite Mr. Merritt's former role as Editor of the Wichita Eagle,
that he has failed to pay attention to last 50 years of presidential elections.
No sitting senator since Kennedy has been elected President. Now, presumably
Mr. Merritt believes that Senators gain foreign policy experience while serving
on various committees and making campaign trips to foreign lands. For the sake
of argument, let's ignore the fact that Governor Palin is the candidate for
Vice President and compare her credentials to previous candidates for
President. Let's begin with President Clinton.

Bill Clinton graduated from Law School in 1973 and returned to Arkansas as a
College Professor. A year later, he ran for Congress and was defeated. Then he
ran for and won (without opposition) the position of Attorney General of the
State of Arkansas. Then two short years later, he ran for Governor. He won the
office and was quickly defeated in his re-election effort. He took two years
off and won re-election as Governor. He served in that capacity for 10 years.
He then spoke at the Democratic National Convention in 1988 and ran for
President in 1992. President Clinton had no foreign policy experience or
expertise when he ran for President. In fact, he had served as Governor of a
state that ranks at or near the bottom in every positive category and at or
near the top of every negative category.

President Reagan was the Governor of California for 8 years and had no foreign
policy experience. Yet, President Reagan was the architect of the end of the
Cold War and arguably the liberator of Eastern Europe because of his policy of
bankrupting the evil empire into extinction. President Reagan had several
summits with the various Soviet leaders and signed the most remarkable treaty
in the history of modern warfare - the INF treaty.

President Carter was a farmer and former Commissioned officer in the Navy. He
was elected to the Georgia State Senate and ran for Governor and lost. He was
elected Governor of Georgia in 1970 after having served for four years in the
legislature. He served as Governor of Georgia and then was elected president
(also without any foreign policy experience). Regardless of any other
criticisms of President Carter, he was moderately effective in negotiating
treaties between Egypt and Isreal - known as the Camp David Accord.

Presidents Bush (41) and Nixon had well developed foreign policy resumes when
they were elected President. President Bush had served as Ambassador to China
and of course, President Nixon had served as Vice-President under Eisenhower
and had been heavily involved in the foreign policy of the 1950's.

President Truman was a Senator from Missouri for 10 years prior to becoming
Vice-President. President Roosevelt was the Governor of New York for 2 years.
I do not want to belabor the point that very few of our presidents have had
significant foreign policy experience. But, it is worth noting that Governor
Palin has as much foreign policy experience as Presidents Clinton, Carter,
Reagan, and possibly as much as FDR.

If she has as much foreign policy experience as many former Presidents, how
does she compare to Barack Obama. When did Obama gain his foreign policy
experience? At Harvard Law School? Or back in the south side of Chicago as a
community organizer? Or as a Illinois State legislator? Perhaps it was during
that trip overseas this year after he had served 6 months as a Senator before
launching his campaign for President. I am going on vacation out of the country
this week. Perhaps, I will have as much foreign policy experience as Senator
Obama.

[MBZ] Wonko's Winter Gasser

2008-10-20 Thread Dan Weeks

On Oct 20, 2008, at 9:06 AM, Wonko wrote:

Wimp! :-)

I drive my SD year round. Without a block heater. In Iowa. With 310k
miles on it. It has failed to start exactly twice--once parked
outside in Wisconsin at 20 below, and once parked outside in
Northeastern Maine at similar temps. In the first case, the problem
was fuel gelling; in the second, tight valves. I understand ULSD gels
at a higher temp than the old formulation diesel, so I run anti-gel
during the real cold weather now, and get a valve adjustment late
every fall. With those precautions, and that fancy garage of yours,
I'd think you'd be all set. On the other hand, I regularly drive
multi-thousand mile trips in mine, which keeps the carbon at bay.
Once ran a can of diesel purge through it, and it ran just as fine
and clean as if it were burning diesel. Have decided I don't need to
do that again.

 Good question Scott.

Here is a letter to the editor of our local that was published a few weeks
ago that asks some of the same questions. (I think the author this letter
 must be a genius).

 Dear Editor,

I am writing to you after having read the editorial by Davis Merrritt. His
editorial is distorted, lacking in intellectual honesty, and ignorant of
history. Mr. Merritt criticizes Governor Sarah Palin because she lacks
foreign policy experience. In fact, after hearing the Charlie Gibson
interview, Mr. Merritt concluded that the choice of Governor Palin was
reckless and cynical. I think, despite Mr. Merritt's former role as
Editor of the Wichita Eagle, that he has failed to pay attention to last 50
years of presidential elections. No sitting senator since Kennedy has been
elected President. Now, presumably Mr. Merritt believes that Senators gain
foreign policy experience while serving on various committees and making
campaign trips to foreign lands. For the sake of argument, let's ignore the
fact that Governor Palin is the candidate for Vice President and compare her
credentials to previous candidates for President. Let's begin with
 President Clinton.

Bill Clinton graduated from Law School in 1973 and returned to Arkansas as
a College Professor. A year later, he ran for Congress and was defeated.
Then he ran for and won (without opposition) the position of Attorney

had the records going back to when it was new. She was a 75 year old retired

The stainless strips should have notches inward toward the rubber with
little raised places in the rubber in them to keep them from being slung
outward by centrifgal force. One of the little C clamps built into the
holder assembly should fit into a groove/slot near one end of the rubber for
the same reason - to counteract centrifugal force.

Does anyone have some expertise on replacing the rubber insert?

I did one on my SDL this weekend and am worried that it may not be put
together properly.

The two metal stiffener strips have a notch at each end and I could not
see why, or whether they go towards the rubber or not.

 Anyone?

Re: [MBZ] Brake Pad Question

2008-10-20 Thread ernest breakfield

Phillip,

   simple solution for you:
don't roll stop signs. ;-)

seriously; modern ceramics aren't the problem you seem to think they
are (even if you *do* run stops).
and yes, we often run for hundreds of miles at a time; due to the
zero-clearance design of disc brakes, pads are always warm enough that
there's never a problem with them. (read; there's no change in
performance, unless you consider the fact that they don't fade away
under extended mountain descents a change in performance; that's a
change i personally welcome!)
even when the pads are stone-cold in snow country, they're not the
evil you seem to think they are; it's not like they're made of ice and
don't work at all, it's only a tiny bit more pedal pressure that's
required at the beginning of that first stop. if you were to have to
romp on them hard, they'd warm up plenty quick enough.

if you were to actually try them, you'd find that in practical
usage, you're not likely to even notice the warmup with modern ceramic
street pads,.. and unless perhaps you're running old-school racing
ceramics without braking for hours on end in temps far below 0*F, you're
not likely to see any change in performance in use.
check around; auto mfrs that are spec'ing out ceramic pads as OEM
these days. while it's not like i believe everything they do is in our
best interests, i don't believe they'd be spec'ing out anything they
thought might leave themselves open to liability.

cheers!

I do - if I roll through the stop sign 0.1 miles from the end of
my driveway. 25 miles to the interstate with intersection at the
top of the hill. Shift down to 3rd to turn onto the onramp. 120
miles later is the big city.

and due to the
zero-clearance design of disc brakes, once pads are over their
initial warmup it would take many dozens of miles in temps too
cold to be safely running 70 for them to cool down enough to
be an issue.

Does that mean you don't ever drive 300 miles on an Interstate
highway without stopping? I do.

And I _don't_ want brakes that change performance significantly
with temperature while driving on public roads.

Re: [MBZ] Trans fluid

2008-10-20 Thread ernest breakfield

hi Curt!

not sure which trans is in that rig, but if it's one of the ChryCo
trannys, they don't necessarily have the best reputation for longevity,
and you may be at the end of its natural life.

that said, i've had symptoms like what you describe in one of our
vehicles, and in 2 cases it's been found to be issues with sensors; one
was the Vehicle Speed Sensor in the trans itself, and the other was the
Throttle Position Sensor. changing those out may be cheap enough to try
that i'd try that before i'd commit to chancing using any additives in
it. (i'd also try putting some better ATF like M1 or RedLine in it
before i tried any additives,...)

cheers!

Curt Raymond wrote:

Well back around Christmas Angie had to drive home (about 10 miles) in first

I drained some out and put in the Lucas, I figured I had nothing to lose at
that point. I ran it around the neighborhood some (still in first) and put it
to bed. On Christmas eve (the following day) I ran it around some more and
found that if I manually shifted into neutral it would then shift up although
sometimes there was a delay. After more driving (my 190D was getting a new
starter) it would shift up and down and hardly ever need the neutral trick. I
had the fluid and filter changed with Mobil 1 and it got even better. Now its
been oh maybe 15,000 miles and its back.
Remember this is a Dodge Dakota v8 with 220,000 miles on the original trans
(well, probably original, I bought it with 58,000) and its been worked hard.

I *think* its a sticky valve, the Lucas appears to be ATF with extra detergents
and some thickener. I only used about half the bottle (the bottle is a quart)
last time. Figure I'll do the same now, again I've got nothing to lose. I am
NOT planning on rebuilding the trans in this truck, that'd be dumb, its got
220,000 miles, it needs a heatercore, radiator, exhaust, and has some pretty
nasty rust plus some of the paint has failed so rust there is just a matter of
time. The bumper for instance is just chrome plating foil at this point, theres
very little metal left. Oh I forgot the transfer case which is also pretty much
shot... Its been a great truck but its at the end of its useful life.

DO NOT use the Lucas. My '82 300CD's previous owner did that because
they (and it was confirmed by the MB stealership) thought that the
trans was in need of a rebuild. The trans would slip out of first and
second gears from a stop at anything more than light-moderate throttle.
Once it was rolling about 10-15mph, it would take a full throttle run
without any problems.
The first thing I did was change the fluid and filter. I used Mobil 1
ATF and have NEVER regretted the choice. Less than 1,000mi after the
change I noticed that I could use heavy throttle, and soon thereafter I
could hit full throttle from a stop. This coupe will bark the tires on
the 1-2 shift! The trans still works like it should over 20,000 mi later.

Anyway my Dodge is definately on the way out, the trans is playing the

sticky valve game again where it won't upshift. Did it a couple times on the
way up, a couple times while we were there and now seems to have stopped. I
definately smelled trans fluid a couple times too. I'm going to put some of
the Lucas additive in again and start looking harder for a new truck. There
seems to be a large crop of full size pickups from 2002ish on sale in the $5000
range which should fit the bill fine. Angie will be driving a car from now on so
the pickup will be the trash/snowmobile (sometimes they're the same
thing)/firewood/scrap haulin mostly weekend mobile and definately doesn't
need to be new. Wish I could justify a diesel but no way...

Re: [MBZ] OT:Obama supporters go for McCain's policies

2008-10-20 Thread Bill R
My comment was about Colin Powell's qualifications to make such a judgment.
It does seem to me that given his background he has some credibility there.
For those of us whose minds have been made up it won't make any difference.
I don't think any Republicans will vote for Obama or Democrats go from
McCain to Obama based on his endorsement. Independents might be a different
story, but at this point I tend to question anyone who has not been able to
make up their mind [though I suspect this is more a 'feeling' thing than an
intellectual exercise.] That is one reason I quit watching debate coverage
on CNN and went to BBC America - that dumb line showing how some few
persuadable folks felt during the debates. I thought it silly and
misleading even though I tended to agree with it. Obviously a significant
chunk of the country does not. Look at this list and all the electrons that
have been used to service one side or the other. I seriously doubt if
anyone has changed sides on the campaign or even individual issues from any
of it, though it occasionally helps me to articulate my position on
something better. I was glad to hear Colin Powell state some of the same
things I had been thinking, but then it wasn't a game changer for me any
more than for any of us.

Colin Powell is entitled to his opinion of course, but I do not see how
Obama passes the qualified test any better than Palin does. Seems a
weak argument to me.

Otherwise, I don't see how he's in a better position to judge her than any of

[MBZ] More trans fluid etc

2008-10-20 Thread R A Bennell
Honda recommends their own brand of fluid. Anyone have opinions on whether that
is necessary or advisable? What is
special about it?

Also with anti-freeze. I think the new ones run the dex-cool type stuff. I note
that the Zerex that folks on here
recommend for MB is not approved for Honda based upon the info on the bottle.
Should be fine shouldn't it?

My Wife has acquired a 2007 Accord that came out of Florida and as such has no
block heater. Here in the GWN that
is not really optional so I have to get one and put it in (or have someone else
do it). That means some fluid loss
apparently and as such I need to know what to put back in. The car has 26K
miles on it so not desperate but I could
flush and change it all out to Zerex since I have been accumulating bottles of
it and had intended to change the
coolant in the poor Toyota Avalon the got wrecked.

Off topic a bit but I do refer to MB once!

Randy

Well CRAP, Curt. I remember you sending out the email about your Dakota and the
transmission problem and COMPLETLEY forgot about one of the reasons you may be
having problems. This is probably one of the Chrysler trannys that needs the
special Dodge/Chrsyler fluid. I did a transmission service on my wife's old
Lebaron and it started acting strange. It wouldn't shift or it would shift too
fast, or it had no reverse. So, I called a friend of mine at the Chrysler
dealer and he told me it was the fluid. You might need to buy the fluid direct
from the dealer. I think your transmission requires Chrysler specific fluid.
I know it fixed ALL of the problems in the Lebaron. Good Luck.

Re: [MBZ] Was OT: Is Barack Obama a US Citizen? - flag pin, now Our Entitlement Culture

2008-10-20 Thread Scott Ritchey
Here's a data point. Number 3 child just got a raise at the car dealership
where she works in CA. But with her increased income, she is no longer
eligible for MediCal and the pay increase is not enough to cover premiums
for the group medical plan where she works. IMHO, she NEEDS to continue
medical coverage so I am subsidizing her until she gets another raise and is
at least even with before. But the math in this case says to turn down the
raise or seek some other compensation, like fewer hours. I'm really glad
she had MediCal because she really needed it on several occasions. But this
kind of setup creates some serious negative incentives for working and it's
not good for the US.

The same goes for my sister in law. She makes to much to qualify her
kids for govt insurance, but doesn't make enough to pay the bills and
insurance.

Similar is for women coming off welfare, its practically impossible and
much easier to stay on welfare. Avg mother on welfare cannot make enough
income to pay for daycare when she does get back to work. We need to
make welfare==workfare and then we can start talking about shrinking the
welfare budgets.

Re: [MBZ] OT:Obama supporters go for McCain's policies

2008-10-20 Thread LarryT

Hey Donald --
There's something you must learn - wrestling with a pig accomplishes nothing
but getting you and the pig extremely muddy - and the pig enjoys it. \

Just assume there are some people who are brain dead and they plan to vote
for obama - you can't being their dead brain back to life (LIVE!, LIVE!,
IT'S ALIIVE! said Doctor Frankenstein at the monster twitched a
finger) even though Gene Wilder did so better than anyone else.

There are evidently a lot of people willing to vote for someone who is an
avowed socialist, has a very low opinion of the country that has given him
so much and who has so little experience that to even consider him for the
highest office in the land is absurd.

To try to rationalize with people who have decided to vote for him can only
be an exercize in frustration

Granted, his opponent is a traditional democrat who could probably have
better luck if he would run as such - and stand on his record to convince
people of his positions --

Have a nice week -

Re: [MBZ] More trans fluid etc

2008-10-20 Thread Rick Knoble
Also with anti-freeze. I think the new ones run the dex-cool type stuff. I
note that the Zerex that folks on here
recommend for MB is not approved for Honda based upon the info on the
bottle. Should be fine shouldn't it?

I can't speak for Honda automobiles, but I own an old Goldwing motorcycle.
Honda recommends silicate free antifreeze for it because the silicates in
conventional antifreeze wear out the seal. Dex Cool is silicate free. Zerex
G-05 is LOW silicate, but not silicate free. That would be my guess as to why
it is not approved. Best bet= stick with Honda coolant, even if it is a bit
more expensive.

Caveats,
YMMV

[MBZ] OT: Amtrak

2008-10-20 Thread Curt Raymond
Like this? http://www.hebners.net/amtrak/amtStationB/BensonAZ.jpg

Glad to hear Des Moines isn't the only stupid state. My Dad claims the problem
is that Amtrak stations are state funded and the states don't see any return on
that money or rather they don't feel like they're seeing any return on it...

Amtrak does not go to Madison, WI either...you have to go about 45 minutes
north to an abandoned station in a little town, the name of which I forget.

Anyone ever take Amtrak to Deming, NM? Thoughts on the station? LOL!

Re: [MBZ] Trans fluid

2008-10-20 Thread Curt Raymond
Gee whiz how much more life do you get out of an auto trans in an American
vehicle? Cripes I'm tickled to have gotten 220k...

'Sides I've had Lucas in it before and it didn't hurt anything. I'm gonna try
it again, maybe in a couple weeks I'll let the thing drain (pull a cooler line)
and refill with M1. I'm sure thats not a full drain but the fluid in there is
still pretty new.

hi Curt!

not sure which trans is in that rig, but if it's one of the ChryCo
trannys, they don't necessarily have the best reputation for longevity,
and you may be at the end of its natural life.

that said, i've had symptoms like what you describe in one of our
vehicles, and in 2 cases it's been found to be issues with sensors; one
was the Vehicle Speed Sensor in the trans itself, and the other was the
Throttle Position Sensor. changing those out may be cheap enough to try
that i'd try that before i'd commit to chancing using any additives in
it. (i'd also try putting some better ATF like M1 or RedLine in it
before i tried any additives,...)

cheers!

Well back around Christmas Angie had to drive home (about 10 miles) in first
gear as the trans wouldn't shift up at all.

Anyway my Dodge is definately on the way out, the trans is playing the

definately smelled trans fluid a couple times too. I'm going to put
