Search allows you to find items you are looking for quickly, without having to
browse through a large number of items. There are two search features in
GunBroker.com:

Quick Search, accessed by clicking Search at the top of any page
Advanced Search, accessed by clicking Advanced next to the Search button at
the top of the page. Advanced Search gives you more options for limiting your
search, allows you to select how to search, and allows you to search completed
listings as well as current listings.

It was quite easy. I drilled out the rivets, 3 or 4, and pulled the clip on the
plastic slider track, let the glass down, and it popped right out. I guess to
put it back in I’ll need some little bolts. I took the motor off first but I
don’t think that was necessary. It was the LR regulator.

Re: [MBZ] Today's Fun

2017-10-21 Thread Max Dillon via Mercedes
R found this new pick-n-pull years ago, we finally made it. I only had about
thirty minutes, so had to move fast. Found a '95 E320 sedan that I think has
the special edition trim. The door sills were stainless steel with
"Mercedes-Benz" printed, grabbed those. Rims have six holes instead of eight.
Car also has a garage door transmitter installed above the rear view mirror, I
may have to get that. Appears that the steering gear box is tight, so I may go
back for that.

This car has a pair of good Euro headlights, facelift version, but I've already
got a spare set on the shelf. Anyone need them?

OK Don is right, you've got to remove the mold. Case in point, SWMBO's
Infiniti. I ozone treated the car several times, and that world work for a
short time, but I ultimately took out the dash, replaced the evaporator, and
cleaned the inside of all the ducts, and now the mold is gone.

GunBroker works well, I recently bought an over/under muzzleloader rifle on
there. I'd used Guns America before but their search shows me too many sold
items. I do like that GA has prices, not auction.

I pay $35/yr for my membership. There's a 25/50 yards range and a 100 yard
which is also the trap range. I think trap is $3/round. Quite a value even
around here. It's small but not crowded and nobody hassles me.

We didn’t scare any game at the range, however, the RSO said there’s a herd of
deer that’s trapped in the middle of the clay ranges.  He said they appear to
be confused by all the shots and just keep circling around. Hence the emphasis
on “no shooting wildlife” when we checked in at the office.

Got certified on their outdoor pistol range today and joined up for a year.
$150/year for the family, first four hours for each member are free and so is
the certification by the RSO.  After that it’s $10/hour.  A pretty good deal
compared to the indoor ranges around here, and a little better clientele, too.
They also have an area on the range with steels, so you can practice on them as
well.

Patterned the Lanber and Beretta O/Us and have a good idea of how both are
patterning now.  Should improve our shooting in the future, I hope.

Came home and cleaned guns.  I’m not sure why, but I enjoy cleaning them almost
as much as I enjoy shooting them….

Re: [MBZ] Getting moldy stale smell out of car

2017-10-21 Thread clay monroe via Mercedes
I would not use ozone for more than minor smells. Odors and Reeking need a
better approach. Ozone will oxidize the rubber and plastic in the cabin. It
would be better to strip out the interior and hand clean it, or stuff it into a
container and blast it with ozone there.

The best solution I have found was to use a 10/1 water/hydrogen peroxide
solution in a spray bottle. This has no deleterious effect on plastic, rubber,
leather, or wool carpet. It does not bleach or stain, and gently removes the
offending source of stench. You can scrub with a soft brush as well as terry
toweling on smoother surfaces. Initial cleansing requires almost saturation,
or at least dampness.

It works on metal, as well as soft parts. The improvement is not immediate, as
it requires multiple applications over a number of weeks, but the smell is
fully removed in the end. The peroxide in the solution keeps mold and odors
from developing on the damp surfaces.

I used it on at least five cars in the past four years. It was a very good way
to clean up PnP parts that wanted to be installed or sold on.

Exactly - you have to move fast so the solder doesn't solidify before you
get the sucker in place.

I've used both. The sucker works better than the braid. Ya gotta have a
good hot iron (~720°F) for best results.

I went knackering to get some bits for the cheap E dizzel. Hit 2 or 3 cars and
scored some stuff. Got a good tire/ rim to replace the one the exBF wouldn’t
give me and a tailight and door seat switches. No good front valance on any
they had there so will have to keep looking for that. Got a rear window
regulator. It is incredible how cheap the 210 cars are compared to a 126.
Plastic, thin pressed aluminum and rivets.

They had a bunch of 126s that I tried to take window motors from, it was weird
as most were missing but the door panels were put back on properly. I scored 3
though.

They had a 70s Eldo convertible that was not too picked over. Got a wheel off
it, which are pretty much unobtainium for any reasonable price. $15. I’m going

Re: [MBZ] Today's

2017-10-21 Thread Dan Penoff via Mercedes
I get up at 5:00 pretty much every day. I was awake at 4:00 this morning, but
convinced myself I should go back to sleep…

Pulled the W210 wagon out and cleaned the wheels since they were dirty from the

The door checks were sort of noisy on this car, so I spent some time getting

Found a cargo net for the storage area which I installed.

Done with car stuff for the weekend, other than a refrigerant top-off on the

This afternoon it’s off to the sporting clays and pistol range for some target

You never had a title for the car, or lost it before transferring it into your
name, so you can't ask for a replacement title because you aren't the titled
owner. So you tell the state 'hey, I need to register my car, but I don't have
the title', and they have you post a surety bond in exchanged for a bonded
title. If it really is a bonded title, I'm not sure what that means when the
bonded owner wants to sell it.

[MBZ] 240D

2017-10-21 Thread Kaleb C. Striplin via Mercedes
I just noticed an oil change sticker in the window from early 05. The car has
3k more miles on it since then. From looking at the car I noticed a lot of new
parts. Somebody has spent some money on it before they quit driving it. The old
man said he spent about $2k on it. So after the battery charges up hopefully it
starts. Only think I have to go on so far is it turns over but too slow and
sounds like it has compression. With 240ds for some reason I run into a lot of
them that have very low compression. Maybe that is due to them being so slow
and people having to rev the crap out of them.

I got my latest 240d unloaded into the shop. Fuel probably leaked down from
sitting and needed to be bled. I discovered it could not be bled properly
because whoever installed the little fuel line from the prefilter to the bleed
pump had th screws pointed so they were blocking the pump from being able to be
pushed all the way down. Adjusted those and bled it. Now I just have to get the
battery charged up and will see if it starts. That will probably be tomorrow.

You know I got to looking at the pic and was thinking it was a corn snake too.
Copperhead looks similar but enough differences. I guess it can be my resident
mouser. I occasionally see shed skins in the garage so maybe it hangs around in
there.

I hear a rooster or two crowing every morning from somewhere on the

I see it as a Kleb car, already prepped with the proper patina for the back
