If we choose to have custom event loops, having custom loop in Windows port seems a wise idea too. It should use WaitForMultipleObjects() instead of select() (like Glib). This could help with implementation of auto update feature because underlying API could notify file system changes via waitable HANDLE. Also WakeFD could be simplified to single event object instead of current poor socket pair. -- Denis -- Master Visual Studio, SharePoint, SQL, ASP.NET, C# 2012, HTML5, CSS, MVC, Windows 8 Apps, JavaScript and much more. Thanks for your explaination. That would be still a problem. Lots of area do not allow such a `big` tolerance, especially for radio and television related area. I think that is not accurate enough for computing the duration of whole playlist, especially for large playlist. Yes, seconds is enough accuracy. Especially for large playlists! If the playlist is two songs of 1 minute each, that makes 120 seconds in total. When both lengths are inaccurate by 1 second (maximum!), that means 120 +- 2 seconds, that is an error of less then 2%. Quite good already. If the playlist is large like 300 songs of 3 minutes each, that makes 900 minutes material or 54000 seconds. The error is 1 second per song. So the length of a song is 180+-1 second or less then half a percent per song. For this large amounts of songs, doing the error-calculation by adding the larges values is giving an overly large error, the real error will be much smaller, probably less the 0.1%. And who needs a playlist-length of 54000 seconds accurate to less 0.1 percent? Re: [Musicpd-dev-team] MPD loop feature?
Yes, indeed! Combine SINGLE + REPEAT modes now it works like a charm. Thank you very much. Sometimes it is nice to have that feature while you meet a great song. Thanks. -- Better than sec? Nothing is better than sec when it comes to monitoring Big Data applications. Re: [Musicpd-dev-team] auto update feature on Mac OS X
Thanks for answering that. Kinda pity. It'd be nice to have this features on Win/Mac. Hope someone port it. Re: [Musicpd-dev-team] MPD queue support by using python
Anyone give me a clue? Below was the mail i sent to the python-mpd maintainer JAT couple of days before, but without response so far. So i post it here. Could some one help me to answer it? Or is there any other way/method to achieve this? Big thanks. = Dear Jat, Sorry for my rude if you feel uncomfortable. I am a python newbie, and i would like to write a MPD front-end by using python-mpd from you, huge thanks to you and your great job. From my other music player's experience, like Amarok, Clementine..., i notice there is a cool feature called Queue which i liked very much. And that feature can be used for some particular time,e.g: a music party which let you predefine some songs before others. After read from MPD's protocol documents, i found that actually MPD provides the Queue feature by prio and prioid commands which you can find from the following url: http://www.musicpd.org/doc/protocol/ch03s04.html Now my request is: Could you help us to add Queue , maybe prio and prioid function for python-mpd? I think most people would appreciate you for your great, great, great job! If you're happy to do that, could you let us know? (or post a plan on the python-mpd page?) Really appreciate.
