[newbie] Realplayer G2 Beta for linux
I've reinstalled linux (upgrading to mandrake 7.0) and have lost my copy of realplayer G2 Beta for linux. Can anyone mail me a copy, or point me to the download location. If their is a version of G2 not in beta I would prefer that of course. Thanks Rick "I don't want to swim in a roped off sea" JB

[newbie] RealPlayer G2
Hi all! I've just downloaded and installed the G2 for Linux, and configured the Netscape preferences to treat it as a helper application. But when I click on a link for it, it opens and I get the following audio clip from the Real Broadcasting Network: Sorry, but we cannot find the stream you requested on any of our servers, please check the URL and try again. Does anyone know what's going on and what I need to do to fix it? TIA
[newbie] RealPlayer G2 5.0 for LINUX
I should have been paying more attention to previous listings, but I couldn't get my sound card working at all till today. I have I am using Mandrake 6.0. Of the versions of RealPlayer that were listed, it looked to me as if the Red Hat 5.2 version was the most likely to be the proper one. As instructed, I changed the name from rv50_redhat5xi386_rpm to rv50_redhat5xi386.rpm then typed rpm -i rv50_redhat5xi386.rpm (logged in as root) I got no error messages (nor any other messages), so I assume it installed somewhere. However, I don't know where it is, nor what it is called. So how do I get it to work now, or have I done something wrong? Thanks for your help. Murray Strome

-Original Message- From: Manny Styles [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Original Message - From: Ripcrd6 [EMAIL PROTECTED] Manny, I have a card just like yours (Aztech Snd Galaxy 16). I could never get it to play nice with Linux so I removed it and put it in another PC. Mine had a jumper to set the card to use the EEPROM settings for the card, which I assumed was to turn off PnP. I tried this and saw no change. I probably tried every jumper setting and sndconfig setting combination possible and it would not work. I put in a used Creative Sound Blaster 16 and in a minute had it working under Mandrake 5.3. If you ever get it working let me know how as I am sick of playing with it. By the way the old Panasonic CD drive I had attached to the card gave up the ghost. I never bother with the jumpers at all. On another note, my original CD-ROM drive dies before I ever did my first install of Mandrake, but I have since replaced it with one that does not attach to the soundcard except for the one wire for sound (which I had to juryrig). Manny Styles [EMAIL PROTECTED] --- I also manually set all the I/Os and IRQs, but to no avail. It seemed like I had the right settings several times but I never did hear Linus talking.I also tried the trick of bumping the mixer volume up with "aumix" command from the command line. Didn't have any effect. I replaced the CD w/ an Atapi compliant one and had no problem there either. Brian
