Thank you, Eric :-)
But still, there is problem.
When I run source LinuxX86Env.Set.sh or source LinuxX86-64Env.Set.sh, there
is error showed that: No such file or ditrctory.
Does it mean configure is not successful?
After I run configure, the last line showed that "configure: error: no".
Then I think it is successful. Do I have to foucus on the warnings or other
things?

No idea. FYI, there is a config.log file, maybe the answer is inside ?

Can you please paste :

Warnings are often harmless (e.g. visibility, no Java .. and so on)

Maybe you could paste them here too. Just in case something unusual

That is not quite true. bootstrap has the following tasks:

- Download missing tar-balls (by calling the fetch_tarballs.sh) script.
Now that ext_sources is part of the SVN repository they are only
downloaded when ext_sources was not checked out.

Additionally the source code for dmake and epm are downloaded.

- Build dmake when no pre-build version is found.

- Fix access rights for some scripts (like solenv/bin/build.pl)

So, it still has to be run. It is created by configure and can be found

Something to consider: For every new developer that tries to build
and fails, because the build guide is outdated, there are probably
several others who try it, fail, and then just walk away and are never
heard of again. A bad initial experience for developers is harmful to
the growth of the project.

Anyone with a wiki account can edit the page. Anyone can sign up for a

Probably not. My thinking is that the more volatile the information, the
more it belongs on a wiki, rather than a web page. Wiki pages are much
faster and easier to update, which means they should be more likely to
/be/ updated when they need it.

Re: Build AOO on Ubuntu

It looks like the version of STLport changed ( or just the name of the file in
svn ) and the build doesn't recognize that name.

The good part is that you are building correctly. Bad part is that there
seems to be something wrong with the file name for STLport.

There were three STLport files in older repository but current
repository has two of them.
Get the following file and put it into ext_source/ directory:
http://hg.services.openoffice.org/binaries/18f577b374d60b3c760a3a3350407632-STLport-4.5.tar.gz

Hi Tsutomu,

I have already put that file into ext_source/ directory.
I tried to build again and the last error disappeared.
Thank you very much:)

Hope the following build successful:)

I met the same problem on ucpp and I thought it was occurred only on
my environment. ucpp can be compiled individually, so try as follows:

cd $SRC_ROOT/ucpp/$INPATH/misc/build/ucpp && make clean && make
cp -f ucpp $SRC_ROOT/ucpp/$INPATH/bin
cd $SRC_ROOT/ucpp && deliver

Would it be
better to put this info where all committers have the ability to
update, like here:

http://incubator.apache.org/openofficeorg/source.html

Probably not. My thinking is that the more volatile the information, the
more it belongs on a wiki, rather than a web page. Wiki pages are much
faster and easier to update, which means they should be more likely to
/be/ updated when they need it.

This seems to be a generic problem when building 3rd-party projects
using AOO's dmake (see e.g. http://s.apache.org/ALR) because that
automatically adds a dependency to lsalcpprt. It shouldn't do that for
these projects as they get along just fine with the memory allocators
provided by the system.

Please, folks, add a little more detail? When you say you "can not edit"

seeing your changes, after you save your edit?

If your changes are not showing, try a little cgi magic: add
".cgi&purge=1" to the end of the URL in your browser bar, and go there.
The problem is with the caching by Apache Traffic Server (ATS), and the
purge directive will fix it for the moment. Also, if you just wait a
while (how long? I don't know), the cache will update by itself.

This is a bug. We will have to fix it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I think what's happening is that the last user to look at that page
wasn't logged in, so that's the (stale) cached image you are seeing. The
cgi magic should work here; please try it.

Please, folks, add a little more detail? When you say you "can not
edit"
a page, are you getting an error message from the wiki? Or, are you not
seeing your changes, after you save your edit?

I do not see the edit button. The page does not show me as logged in,
but when I navigate to other pages, I am logged in. It appears like I
were switching between servers, logged in on one, not logged in on the
other.

I think what's happening is that the last user to look at that page
wasn't logged in, so that's the (stale) cached image you are seeing. The
cgi magic should work here; please try it.

What would the full URL look like? I tried
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/Building_Guide/Building_on_Linux.cgi&purge=1
but that did not work (something about page with title
"Documentation/Building Guide/Building on Linux.cgi&purge=1" not being
present; no surprise).

Yes, ATS plays sametimes bad boy. Sametimes it helps to click on the
Login/Logout link. Then you can login again.

Yes, anything that persuades the wiki and/or ATS to clear the cached
page will work.
P.s.: Thanks for blocking those spammers. More later.

This is a bug. We will have to fix it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The link that seems to work for most of these situations is:

http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/w/index.php?title=Main_Page&purge=1

suitably edited for your page; for instance,
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/w/index.php?title=Documentation/Building_Guide/Building_on_Linux&purge=1

"purge" sounds drastic, but all it does is tell the wiki to invalidate
any stored (cached) image of the page and build a new one. --/tj/
