I have used the Shoutcast server in the past and I think some of its settings got in the way of this plugin. Anyway after playing around with the audio tab in control panel it worked OK. I am not talking about feedback from the amp to the plugin (obviously thats impossilbe). Willy, Depends what you mean by properly? I can control the volume of my Denon reciever using the SB remote, although I don't think holding the volume button down works - I have to keep hitting it. However I would rarely change volume by holding the button anyway as the amp changes volume far too quickly for me. James NOTICE: If received in error, please destroy and notify sender. well that's not really properly (many amps have the sense to change volume gradually, and i would send back a universal remote that didn't allow me to hold my finger on the volume button) but it would be a step up for me... sometimes if i try and press it real quick it might work from time to time but not reliable multi button pressing like you describe. what delay do you have set please? did you learn the commands or did you find them on the net? -- willyhoops willyhoops's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10563 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35535 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] help with ir blaster please
I found the commands on the net, probably via the lirc page, and I have the default delay set. It might work when holding the button down (I can check), I just don't use it that way. The Denon amp seems to accelerate the volume changes the longer you hold the button and it can easily get out of control! I rarely do this because I normally use a Pronto that controls everything, so my normal use case for the IRBlaster is to change the volume from the web interface (using the test buttons on the IRBlaster settings page) when I'm in another room! I've added the plugin to the wiki page http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.cgi?PluginsAudio. The MP3 conversion settings are defined in the SlimDevices\server\Plugins\WaveInput\wavin_convert.conf file on your server. These were copied directly from the main convert.conf file, and use the main QUALITY and BITRATE settings configured for your server. Please note that Windows wave input devices only allow one application to use them at a time, so if you have problems, check if any other apps are using the soundcard. -- pbjbryan pbjbryan's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3034 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35718 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] help with ir blaster please
I just spoke with Felix in email about a similar problem. And also an apparently faulty conf file I downloaded. IR commands for most devices are made up of a lead-in, a one-time pattern, a repeat pattern and a lead-out (and delay). When you press a remote button one time you get a sequence exactly as I mentioned. Different remote protocols will repeat the repeat segment different number of times for a single press as redundancy. Some protocols repeat segments are the same as their one-time others are drastically different (different is more common). When a remote button is held down on an original remote, you would get the lead in, the one-time sequence and then the repeat sequence would repeat as long as you held the button. A full command sequence may look like this: abcdxyxyxy Where abcd is the one-time and xy is the repeat sequence. When such a command is recorded as RAW it will look like the above. However, repeating that raw would produce: abcdxyxyxyabcdxyxyxyabcdxyxyxy Which will most definitely screw up many devices. They will not see this as a properly repeating command. They may see it as multiple single presses or they may see it only as one single press and then ignore the rest because the proper delay was not present between these different singles. To properly repeat such commands, the transmitter (blasting software for instance) needs to know the structure of the command. It needs to know the one time and the repeat sequences to be able to send them the right amount of times AT the right times. A description of the format should be included at the top of a properly learned/written lirc configuration file. There's no guarantee any file you download has been properly created though. I have offered Felix full documentation for the Pronto IR format and any additional information he may need to add support for this into his software. There are many more remote codes available, and properly learned, in Pronto long () format than there are lirc config files. I'm using a Denon Amp and currently cannot use Volume because the raw code learned will not repeat properly. The lirc file would not work at all, though Felix noticed something missing from it and fixed it for me - I still have to test it. The only ambiguity in using Pronto commands is the fact there's no standard for writting multiple commands into a single text file. The interface for IR Blaster can be changed to accomodate pasting the pronto command directly into a text box though along with the name given to that command. I've also previously created a text file format for storing multiple Pronto commands which I can share. -- MelonMonkey Bruno *'Twisted Melon - Fine Mac OS Software' (http://twistedmelon.com) | 'mira - Personal Control for your Apple Remote' (http://twistedmelon.com)* MelonMonkey's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8466 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35535 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Wave Input plugin v1.00
Here's a sample playlist file that allows selecting specific inputs on the soundcard without having to reconfigure your default sound device. You can select an input by playing the appropriate source song within the playlist. You can even play the entire playlist and use the FWD/REW buttons to quickly switch the source. This sample uses names appropriate for my system (based on an 18-input RME HDSP Multiface), but you can easily rename these to whatever you like, or even delete unused inputs from the list using the playlist editor. Here's the text of the attached file: Code: #EXTM3U #EXTINF:-1,iPod Input wavin:1 #EXTINF:-1,Phono Input wavin:2 #EXTINF:-1,CD Input wavin:3 #EXTINF:-1,FM Radio Input wavin:4 #EXTINF:-1,S/PDIF Input wavin:9 #EXTINF:-1,2192 ADC Input wavin:5 #EXTINF:-1,MediaMonkey (Digital loopback) wavin:6 #EXTINF:-1,Wavelab (Digital loopback) wavin:7 #EXTINF:-1,Windows (Digital loopback) wavin:8 #EXTINF:-1,Windows (Analog loopback) wavin:10 In essence, the link to each source is of the form wavin:n, where n is the input channel on the device. The default input is wavin:0 (this is selected with the Wave Input plugin and configured by Windows), and the 1st input is wavin:1, etc. Notice in the sample that there are several loopback inputs. These are possible in the RME using its digital patchbay to route its outputs back to its inputs. Since I use frequently MediaMonkey and Wavelab, I have these setup to output on their own channels. The analog loopback is done by selecting the line out as the default record source for the built-in AC97 codec in the Windows control panel. +---+ |Filename: Audio Input.m3u.zip | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2889| +---+ -- pbjbryan pbjbryan's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3034 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35718 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

The settings you've chosen for wavin2cmd provide about 370ms at 44.1kHz, so the additional 630ms is likely the result of network buffering on each end, the encryption/conversion buffering, and the linux machine's audio output driver latency. To get 300ms through-latency, you'll need to minimize the buffering wherever you can, and not use encryption/compression, since these add additional buffering and can use processor cycles needed for minimum latency driver performance (this goes up inversely proportional to the buffer size). If you need compression to minimize network traffic, you could try the flac codec. -- pbjbryan pbjbryan's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3034 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35718 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Wave Input plugin v1.00
I tried streaming to two players, which worked, although I think it incurs further latency. I haven't tried syncing two players yet :-) I think this will depend on whether the sound card drivers can supoprt multiple client applications. It seems the Audigy may if you were able to have two players listening to the same input. How do the Slimserver File Types settings work? I see there are Wave Input to FLAC, MP3 or WAV - will the players always go for the highest quality available option? If I want to transcode to FLAC, do I untick WAV only, or do I untick MP3 too? Can different players transcode to different formats?I've always wondered about this! I tried it with all three (wav, flac mp3) enabled, and it uses flac. I haven't verified this, but I would hope it tries to maximize quality and minimize bandwidth. However, to be sure I'm getting what I expect, I usually turn off all the ones I don't want. You can specify what formats are used by which players in the convert.conf files. The double asterisk means all player types, all players. You can make the conversions quite specific to manage bandwidth/quality issues. See the server\convert.conf file for more info. The server\Plugins\WaveInput\wavin-convert.conf file is processed the same way. -- pbjbryan pbjbryan's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3034 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35718 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] help with ir blaster please
Hi there @ willyhoops: What I meant was that I do not get any feedback from the player (SB3, Transporter) when it has finished sending an ir command. Anyway, I've put up a new version of the IR Blaster plugin onto my website that blocks sending (raw/learned) ir commands while another is still being sent. I am calculating the delay by adding up all times of an ir command and do not send the next command for that long. In my tests that didn't break what was working before, but hopefully it improves you experience. I've tested that with the following devices and with learned and unaltered ir commands successfully: Sony Receiver, Archos Player, Sharp TV, Slim Devices SB3, Revox Receiver. For all devices I can hold down volume up or down and the volume on the device changes step by step. @ MelonMonkey: Just an idea - did you remove the other .conf file and either press reload on the IR Blaster plugins website or restart SlimServer to make sure it picks up the correct .conf file? Cheers Felix -- fcm4711 Everyone said: This cannot be done. But one day someone came along who didn't know about this - and did it.
