[SlimDevices: Plugins] Spicefly Sugercube via DynamicPlaylist

2009-02-18 Thread Phil Meyer
I have configured my morning alarm to play Sugercube as a Dynamic Playlist.

It works really well, except that it always seems to stop after a few songs
(around 6 tracks).

I can make a MusicIP playlist from the last track played from the Sugercube
dynamic playlist, and get 50 songs.

I have configured all of the MusicIP settings to be the same, including MusicIP
settings, Player MusicIP settings, Spicefly settings, etc. I have Style=160,
Variety=2. I have a filter to only play songs rated greater than 3, or unrated.

How do I debug this to see why it stops adding songs after a few tracks?

Enable debug logging on Dynamic Playlist and SugarCube and post the log
after it stopped adding tracks. I think you will see the error in the
SugarCube log entries.

Dynamic Playlist asks SugarCube for the next track and if it doesn't
return one the Dynamic Playlist plugin interpret this as the end of the
playlist and stops adding tracks.

I've seen issues like this when non ascii characters are part of the
file names, could this be the cause ?

Does it work if you start SugarCube manually instead of launching it
through a dynamic playlist ?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] SoftSqueeze problem

I've run SoftSqueeze on and off for some time without any issues, but
now I cannot get it to run at all: the simulated squeezebox display

look at the server settings in SlimServer but can't see anything to

Tech details are:

Any help or suggestions would be great.

still on my list to do first …

Great — looking forward to it! Please keep in mind that with the
existing variant it is possible to set up »new« keys (which aren’t in
the tags) some people might have use for, like
XYZZY=RELEASESTATUS|MUSICBRAINZ_ALBUM_STATUS

-

I’d like to set up something like »Decades« which includes original
years, like »IF we have ORIGYEAR, use it, otherwise take YEAR if not
empty«. (From the assumption that some tags only have YEAR because the
ORIGYEAR was the same.) At a first look, the possibilities you built
into it are endless — but not so easy to understand at a first glance.

Would you say dissecting the »Decades« is a good place to start? Or
suggest something else, like constructing a simple menu first or the
like?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl

2009-02-18 Thread hedgamahog

First of all: Thank you for this plugin. I am using the "Shutdown to
SqueezeNetwork" command. I have a SB3 and a Boom (always synchronized),
using SC on a Vista PC.

When I use above command with RC on either of both devices, that one
switches correctly to SN. Yet the other one states "Shutdown to
Squeezenetwork" during the whole shutdown process of the PC.
Afterwards, it looses connection without connecting to SN.

Have I done something wrong?

Thanks in advance for any hint!

Last time I tried to switch to SN a pair of synched players (using my
code, *not* the plugin), it failed. My code switches every player one
by one (unless you've opt-out for a specific player), and when not
synched, I indeed send more than one player to SN.
I believe the tie created by the sync is somehow troublesome.

I don't know how the plugin currently tries to cope with the situation;
just wanted to add my own experience.

2009-02-18 Thread Moonbase

Ok, I had some time, so I cleared and rescanned my »real« library with
CustomScan. Here are the overall results:

- Scanning artist: CPU Load: Perl 80%, mysqld 5%
- Scanning album: CPU Load: Perl 80%, mysqld 5%
- Scanning track: CPU Load: Perl 50-80%, mysqld 0-15%

The whole scan took about 77 minutes.

- After last scanTrack: CPU Load: Perl 0%, mysqld 20-56%

This part took about 22 minutes, during which the disc SC resides on
accessed like mad; no refreshing of any SC page was possible, not even
the plugin’s status page or the log tail (100); browser says »loading«
until this part is finished, then updates.

Total time: 99 minutes

- on a 1.8GHz P4, 1GB RAM, Windows/XP+SP3, SC 7.4-25035
- using my »real« library (external USB2 disc): 25325 tracks; mixed
MP3, FLAC, OGG and one WMA

If you wish, you can download the relevant part of 'my -server.log-'
in about half an hour’s time from now (just uploading; about 66MB).

[SlimDevices: Plugins] AAC+ and file types

2009-02-18 Thread whitman

I was looking at another thread here...

http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=36034

and noticed one of bpa's checklist items was to ensure that "AAC+
decoded stream is sent to SB3 as Flac or WAV".

I took a look at Settings/Advanced/File Types in my SC 7.2.1. It's not
clear to me how these settings work. Against AACplus, for example, I
have:

FLAC 'aacpmplayer.sh/flac'
MP3 'aacmplayer.sh/lame'
WAV 'aacpmplayer.sh'

What does that mean? What am I sending to what?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AAC+ and file types

2009-02-18 Thread bpa

SB cannot play AACplus so it has to be transcoded into a format that can
be played by the SB which is either Flac, MP3 or WAV.

The aacpmplayer.sh routine invokes mplayer using input from stdin. The
shell script is needed because mplayer cannot use stdin as a source and
also at the time of writing mplayer did not handle "broken pipe"
signals.

mplayer will only decode into PCM/WAV so you need lame to generate a
MP3 stream or Flac for a Flac stream. Hence

WAV aacpmplayer.sh (i.e. just mplayer doing AACplus to WAV)
MP3 aacpmplayer.sh/lame (i.e. mplayer doing AACplus to WAV and then
lame doing WAV to MP3)
FLC aacpmplayer.sh/flac (i.e. mplayer doing AACplus to WAV and then
flac doing WAV to FLAC)

To see which format is actually used enable player.source logging to
INFO (see WebUI Settings/Advanced/logging) .

Given that background - what is your real question ?

Further, I noticed that each of the compilations show up several times
within the album list, namely for each track artist of the compilation
separately. However, the "each" is not correct. For some unknown reason
the same compilation shows up separately for some of the track artists

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicInfoSCR and SC 7.4 (v24896)

2009-02-18 Thread ligald

Hi,

My configuration is the following:

PC with XP Pro SP3 running SC 7.3.2 in French, MusicInfo 4.3.7 -
Transporter wired.

I tried to reproduce the bug with the following steps:

1)The screensaver is in default mode (Basic settings menu of SC)

2)The font size is set to standard (Display menu of SC)

3)The plugin is reseted (checkbox at the bottom of the plugin page)

4)The screensaver is set to MusicInfo mode (Basic settings menu of SC)

This configuration leads to the display problems showed in the photos
attached. The bottom information is displayed in large font size and
overlaps with the upper one. There is no way to fix it or to change the
font size, event by pressing Now playing button. The resetting function
of the plugin is useless.

Then I tried to use a different font size by disabling "Use SC font
size" in the plugin menu. This leads to the worst situation where even
the display of the plugin configuration page mixes the informations.

I tried to be as precise as possible in my description

If you have any idea...

Thank you

The Alternative Listen Again uses a different source and the Radio 3
menu is workgin OK for me now.

I have seen this version of "no programs" problem (the "schedule"
version is different) and I think it is due to caching or timing
rather than the actual web pages content but I find it hard to
reproduce.

Can you remember what you were doing before the problem e.g. accessing
AlienBBC from two web UI or Web UI and controller ? , browsing in/out
of menu etc.

Once the "no programs" happens, the result is cached for 300 secs (5
mins) so if you do not access Radio 3 and wait say 10 mins, I expect
the proper menu to return.
Can you try that ?
Whatis you radio station timeout setting (See settings/Advanced/Network
) ?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] iplayer plugin stream is sometimes silent

2009-02-18 Thread jimdm

Hi

I installed iplayer tonight and its working fine (and its great!) for
most play again except for some streams it is silent. That is the
second count but there is no sound. I can press pause/play or back and
the second stop/start or go back to zero but still no sound.

Then I can choose other streams that work fine straight away.

Examples of streams that are silent are 06:00 Today Radio 4, Wed 18th
and 21:00 Annie Mac's Mash up on Radio 1 on Friday 13th.

I can play the silent streams with sound through the iplayer website.

The live streams are similar - some work and some don't. Although the
normal BBC stations work through Staff Picks.

Thoughts on what might be causing this please?

your last post that we may have reached a dead end, but obviously not.
Don't to worry about the pace! I would love to get this plugin working
on my kit. To that end, please find attached two zipped files
containing the info you requested.
Also FYI, I do the following to get a FM station to play through my PC
speakers using the VLC GUI:
-Select Media, Open Capture Device
-Select Audio device name "Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II ([23"
-Select Advance options, check Tuner properties, set Audio input pin to
1 (because in Tunerplay settings Audio Source pin 1 = Audio Tuner In)
-Select OK
-Select Play and get TVTuner Property Page
-Key in a FM frequency, hit OK

And voila, the VLC player window pops up playing the FM station through
the PC speakers. There is of course no video, but I can get this also
for a TV station if I select "Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture" as
the video device name and the appropriate pins in the Advanced options.
It is worth noting that if Tunerplay is running in SC, the audio can be
heard through the SB3, as well as through the PC speakers.

2009-02-18 Thread James

I've uploaded a new v1.2.4 that should fix any stations still not
working.
Download from
https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=105780&package_id=247364&release_id=648496
or just check the Extension Downloader for the new version.

Assuming that you got a good download of SCPowerTool and nothing was
messed up with the zip file...I would suggest checking to see which
version of MSVCR80.dll is on your system. On my XP laptop here, I've
got version 8.0.50727.42. If you think this might be the problem, you
can download MSVCR80.dll directly from Microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=200b2fd9-ae1a-4a14-984d-389c36f85647&DisplayLang=en

Just put MSVCR80.dll in the same folder where you have SCPowerTool.exe.

I think I've addressed this in the next version...which I'm still
debugging. Check back to this thread from time to time to catch the
next release.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: TunerPlay for Windows plugin - FM radio from analog TV/FM Tuner card.

2009-02-18 Thread bpa

Need to check further but in the recent logs it looks like
dshow-amtuner-mode is set to 1 whereas in TunerPlay I set it to 2
according to VLC help

Code:

--dshow-amtuner-mode={0 (Default), 1 (TV), 2 (FM radio), 4 (AM radio), 8
(DSS)}
AM Tuner mode. Can be one of Default (0), TV (1),AM Radio (2), FM Radio (3)
or DSS (4).

If you want to test - edit the custom-convert.conf file and change the

:dshow-amtuner-mode=2
to
:dshow-amtuner-mode=1

Then restart SC. It may not work as I still need to enable you to
choose the audio capture "([23" device.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC schedules give "no programs found"

2009-02-18 Thread jdavies

The radio timeout setting is 5.

As for what I was doing before this happened, I was checking the
AlienBBC/Radio 3 - schedule listing -- and that said "no programs
found" and then when I returned to the regular "AlienBBC/Radio 3"
listing it then said "no programs found". Before I checked the
AlienBBC/Radio 3 - schedule listing (a half hour earlier), I did get
some programs listed as I scrolled down AlienBBC/Radio 3. Now I get
nothing at all under AlienBBC/Radio 3 (I don't even get "schedule").
It's now been 5 hours -- and still nothing.

I have tried stopping and starting SqueezeCenter -- to no avail.

Is there a way to empty the cache manually?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC schedules give "no programs found"

2009-02-18 Thread bpa

The "no programs" when looking at a Schedule was due to a change in BBC
html. I am currently testing a new release to fix this bug.

The URL cache is kept in directory FileCache. Stop SC and delete the
directory FileCache in the SC Cache directory. Look in Webui
Settings/Information for location of cache directory.

At peak times BBC servers get a bit slow to respond with Web pages.
Your ISP links between UK-US may also get congested at peak times. If
a complete page is not received within 5 secs - the parser will
consider the page invalid and so get "no programs". I suggest
increasing the Radio Station Timeout to 10 or 15 secs to see if it make
a difference.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC schedules give "no programs found"

2009-02-18 Thread jdavies

OK -- I deleted the entire FileCache folder (and all subfolders) and
stopped and restarted SqueezeCenter -- and it worked! I now have all
the listings back that I had earlier this morning under AlienBBC/Radio
3. (The listings are still not complete; for example, there is only
one "Breakfast" listing. But I think that may be due to the change in
the BBC website that you mentioned a couple of days ago.)

Thanks!!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: TunerPlay for Windows plugin - FM radio from analog TV/FM Tuner card.

2009-02-18 Thread raglencross

Changed all three instances of ":dshow-amtuner-mode=2" to
":dshow-amtuner-mode=1" and still had no audio. I will leave them as
"=1" unless instructed otherwise.
Please confirm if the next entry ("dshow-audio-channels") after
":dshow-amtuner-mode" equals 1 or 3.
Also, just a reminder to insure that our versions of Tunerplay are in
sync, I am still using the revised versions of Settings.pm and Tuner.pm
that you provided in an earlier post.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2009-02-18 Thread Bootzilla

Hi, I purchased iPeng v. 1.0.5 yesterday and it was working fine until
this evening when I used it to log onto Archive.org to hear some live
music. Now, iPeng crashes every time I try to launch it. I get the
opening splash screen, and then two blank screens in quick succession
and then I am back to the iPhone main apps page. This is a real
bummer, as I was enjoying the iPeng app very much until now. Any
suggestions as to how to get back the app back to normal? Thanks.

PS -- It would be nice if the lyrics plug-in could be included in a
future release.

Neither dshow-audio-channels should be 2 - it is number of audio
channels (i.e. Left and Right).

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicInfoSCR and SC 7.4 (v24896)

2009-02-18 Thread Michael Herger
> This configuration leads to the display problems showed in the photos
> attached.

I think what you're seeing is simply a misconfigured screensaver. This
might be due to bad defaults the plugin is using. I'll have to check this.
Please go to the MIS settings and re-configure that large line to display
"Nothing". It should clean up the screen.

In custom font mode you can define any of left/right/center and
top/middle/bottom items in various fonts. MIS seems to default to using
something on the middle line in large font which overlaps everything else.
This makes for the messy layout, but should go away once you configure MIS
not to use the middle line.
