kennydexter wrote: > Thanks for replying. I dont understand. What is LMS? > > Thanks To fill in a few details on Rob's response. A squeezebox device (Radio or Touch, etc) must have a server to provide content. The most simple server option is using mysqueezebox.com (MySB.com), but it offers less features. The other server option is runing Logitetch Media Server (LMS) on a computer which offers the ability to play your own music, run aps that allow streaming from iheartradio, tidal, spotify, etc. If you install LMS on a computer, the squeezebox will not automatically switch from MySB.com to LMS. Select My Music in the menu option and it will look for the LMS server. There is another menu option to switch to MySB.com. Many people on this forum run LMS on a Raspberry Pi using software called PicorePlayer. However, that is not plug in play and will require you to set it up. I know nothing about linux, but I was successful get setting it up by following the directions. Read more here: https://docs.picoreplayer.org/ Welcome to the community. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] iHeart Radio for Squeezebox Radio?
kennydexter wrote: > Thanks for replying. I dont understand. What is LMS? > > Thanks LMS is Logitech Media Server, an application that you would have to run on a computer on your local network. The computer could be an old, low-powered one, or even a single board computer -- a Raspberry Pi, for instance. Your Squeezebox devices would then connect to your local server -- LMS -- instead of mysqueezebox.com. You would still have access, through LMS, to most services provided by mysqueezebox.com. Or you would have the option of disconnecting your Squeezebox device from LMS and connecting directly to mysqueezebox.com. As bpa mentioned, accessing iHeart Radio is one thing that's possible to do with LMS that cannot be done through mysqueezebox.com. There are many others, including accessing other some online music services, playing your local music files, and playing music on some non-Squeezebox devices. Those other features are off-topic for your question, but if any of them interest you, you can certainly find out more. The official LMS download page is here: https://mysqueezebox.com/download. Some of us prefer to download more up-to-date versions here: http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/. 8.2 is the current stable version, while 8.3 is beta. Standard disclaimer: I've probably got a few details wrong here, because I often do. It's usually best to hold off until somebody else corrects, expands on, or maybe confirms what I've said. LMS 8 nightly running on Raspberry Pi OS. Mostly virtual players, occasionally with SB Radio, Boom or Classic. As I have a rough plugin in Perl for iHeart on LMS - I know that a small applet written in Lua could handle finding iHeart playable URLs. The applet could be installed as a 3rd party Applet on Touch and in theory Radio, Squeezeplay and Controler. The difficulties are 1. My Lua and Touch skills are not good enough to do this quickly. 2. Only Shoutcast streams (ICY MP3) are playable on Touch/Radio. It seems many iHeart stream are moving over to m3u8 (i.e. Apple HLS) and Touch/Radio would need new firmware to handle HLS natively (at the moment LMS can transcode). bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78911 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

After a bit more digging, I found the solution to my problem. It seems the URL (as of now) for z100 is http://c5icyelb.prod.playlists.ihrhls.com/1469_icy For KISS Fm it is.. Code: HLS http://c2.prod.playlists.ihrhls.com/185/playlist.m3u8 Shoutcast: https://c2icy.prod.playlists.ihrhls.com/185_icy For other stations, find the station id, and try substituting it in the above URL's (for z100 it is 1469, for KISS it is 185 etc., but substituting 1469 in the C2 and C2icy url's did not work for me) Apparently if you dig through the station source code you will find the IHeart URL's - good luck because the source is voluminous! Apparently these are not geo restricted but time will tell.. yeomanspc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=249 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78911 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] iheart radio
Along with others, I notice Iheart no longer works - seems they have removed the AKAMI feeds? Previously, although not supported, there was a page where all the streaming URL's were and it is these streams that have been pulled. So I went onto the web and opened up Iheart, and of course you can stream to your browser. A bit more digging, and the streams appear to be in HLS format, which LMS supports with the right plugin. So can someone explain how to extract the stream url when plating in a browser. The link to iheart z100 is this https://www.iheart.com/live/z100-1469/ This actually just brings up the web page, and to see what is happening you need to right click, and select inspect (using Chrome). If you select the 'NETWORK' tab then you see (I presume) what is happening between the browser and Iheart. I then tried to press 'play' (and then stop) to see if I could get the stream info. It seems they use JWPLAYER https://ssl.p.jwpcdn.com/player/v/7.12.8/provider.hlsjs.js It seems to then load thie following (I do not have an iheart id and do not log in so none of the attached is specific to me) Request URL:https://c5.prod.playlists.ihrhls.com/1469/playlist.m3u8?at=0=web_broadcast=0_id=8169=1512069369379=OrganicWeb=447113446=null=US=webapp.US=1511874206743_99956=1511874206277=null=null=playerid%3AiHeartRadioWebPlayer%3Bskey%3A1512069369=159=g%3Anull%3Bn%3Anull%3BcompanionAds%3Atrue=324=web-desktop Request Method:GET Status Code:200 OK Remote Address:52.72.174.216:443 Referrer Policy:no-referrer-when-downgrade RESPONSE HEADERS view source Accept-Ranges:bytes Access-Control-Allow-Credentials:true Access-Control-Allow-Origin:https://www.iheart.com Cache-Control:no-cache Content-Length:596 Content-Type:application/vnd.apple.mpegurl Expires:Mon, 26 Jul 1997 05:00:00 GMT Instance-id:c4582eb25f0bf69c5d7bb4ff0e0438ef Pragma:no-cache Server:iHM AIS Streaming Server 7.7.8 Set-Cookie:ListenerInfo=reset; Path=/; Domain=c5.prod.playlists.ihrhls.com; Expires=Thu, 30 Nov 2017 18:28:06 GMT REQUEST HEADERS view source Accept:*/* Accept-Encoding:gzip, deflate, br Accept-Language:en-US,en;q=0.9 Connection:keep-alive Host:c5.prod.playlists.ihrhls.com Origin:https://www.iheart.com Referer:https://www.iheart.com/live/z100-1469/ User-Agent:Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/62.0.3202.94 Safari/537.36 QUERY STRING PARAMETERS view source view URL encoded at:0 clientType:web fb_broadcast:0 init_id:8169 modTime:1512069369379 pname:OrganicWeb profileid:447113446 birthYear:null territory:US host:webapp.US listenerId:1511874206743_99956 uid:1511874206277 age:null gender:null amsparams:playerid:iHeartRadioWebPlayer;skey:1512069369 terminalid:159 awparams:g:null;n:null;companionAds:true playedFrom:324 devicename:web-desktop I tried popping the above url into LMS on the off-chance - it kinda gets there, and indicates starting to play an HLS stream, but then fails after 4 seconds. If you want to let the Logitech developers know about this I suggest you take the time to go over to logitech's (Slim Devices) Bugzilla site and login and vote (this is different from commenting) for this plugin and also leave a comment about the API. http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=15451 I suggest you also take the time to write to iHeartRadio as well at http://help.iheartradio.com/customer/portal/emails/new requesting they work with Logitech to develop a plugin. Saw this on All Access. When will the iheartradio app be available on the Squeezebox? It was recently added to Sonos. CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO will make public an application programming interface (API) and affiliate program for iHEARTRADIO. The Developer Program will enable third parties and developers to easily integrate iHEARTRADIO's unique content and services into their own products, web pages and applications. Using iHEARTRADIO's Developer Program, third-party developers will have the opportunity to create their own innovative versions of iHEARTRADIO on their platforms. The iHEARTRADIO API includes access to many of the services features, including its live broadcast and digital-only stations and Custom Stations as well as a deep social media integration. By making iHEARTRADIO's API available, were empowering developers to bring the full strength of iHEARTRADIO to life in their own creative ways, said CLEAR CHANNEL DIGITAL Pres. BRIAN LAKAMP. Opening our API will unlock exciting opportunities to enrich the unique, combined live and custom radio experience that only iHEARTRADIO provides. This move also builds on our commitment to be everywhere our listeners expect us to be, with the best products and services. -- Casey Casey's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=38212 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78911 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
