Digressing - herniated discs respond to hanging by your arms from an
overhead bar for 5 seconds 3 times a day until the disc returns to its
proper position, if you don't have a thing like I have.

I have a Disc-Ease machine [nci] in my office [it has long protruding
feet]. Made by C W Products,

Victoria, Australia 3137.

Phone 61 3 9728 5700
Fax 61 3 9728 4377

Maximum load is 127 kilos or 279 pounds.

Currently the Aust dollar is worth less than 60 cents US - so things
from Australia are cheaper for US citizens.

It has arms that adjust to height and width. You hold hand grips and
support yourself on solid arm rests while counting to 5...

Sometimes I only have one treatment - othertimes I need more. When I
got it, it took me 3 weeks to come good.

Judith.

been on MSM for 3 months. Am now taking about 3heaping teaspoons a
day hoping
it will stop herniated disk pain in upper back. Its certinaly worth
a try.
Very inexpenseive, though has a bitter taste. Betty Ft. Lauderdale

Re: CSOT: Allergies

2000-07-09 Thread Judith Thamm
Dear Mike,
Often the cause of allergies is quite unrelated to what you expect or
are led to believe.

My wife is thinking about getting allergy shots. She had some twenty
years ago that helped to reduce the severity of her allergy symptoms
for a good many years. Lately, she's having problems again and has
 been very uncomfortable.

She is known to react to some grasses, trees, mold and mildew. She's
usually worst in the spring and early summer (here in SE Michigan).
Symptoms are the usual runny nose, congestion, itchy eyes, and manic
sneezing. Unlike me she doesn't respond to ragweed.

Has your wife been tested for allergic reactions to wheat and milk?
These are often the foundation or root of all other allergies.
Judith.

Re: CSThoughts on Gerds

2000-07-09 Thread Judith Thamm
Another help with gastric reflux is to drink a glass of water with two
teaspoons of apple cider vinegar [containing mother of vinegar]
throughout a meat meal. Particularly an evening meal. [Worked for
me.]

I have read that you should not combine carbohydrate with meat in the
same meal if you have that problem.

I find if I leave out the meat and just have stack of veg for the
evening meal, reflux does not occur. Eating 5 small meals throughout
the day instead of 3 larger ones also is supposed to work.

Of course, if you have just one meal - that starts at breakfast and
goes through to bedtime - you are bound to get gastric reflux! :)

Judith.

I have had this problem and some of it is caused by the use of some
serious
drugs. At least I have to include that as I have a serious lung
disease and
have to have some of these in my life. But I watched in the past
some of my
problems with Gerds and when they seemed to occur. I done some
studying and
reading and started to wonder as to the real cause of some of it. I
noticed
that high protein foods, meat and the like, seemed to effect this in
me. I
also read where the stomach is effected at times and does not
produce enough
acid to start digestion of meats.

Colloidal Silver:
Risk Without Benefit
Stephen Barrett, M.D.
Colloidal silver is a suspension of submicroscopic metallic silver particles
in a colloidal base. Long-term use of silver preparations can lead to argyria,
a condition in which silver salts deposit in the skin, eyes, and internal
organs, and the skin turns ashen-gray. Many cases of argyria occurred during
the pre-antibiotic era when silver was a common ingredient in nosedrops. When
the cause became apparent, doctors stopped recommending their use, and
reputable manufacturers stopped producing them. The official drug guidebooks
(United States Pharmacopeia and National Formulary) have not listed colloidal
silver products since 1975.

Dubious Ads
In recent years, silver-containing products have been marketed with
unsubstantiated claims that they are effective against AIDS, cancer,
infectious diseases, parasites, chronic fatigue, acne, warts, hemorrhoids,
enlarged prostate, and many other diseases and conditions. Some marketers
claim that colloidal silver is effective against hundreds of diseases.

Yup.

Yet Dr. Barrett spews forth opinions also without substantiation. For
example, he mixes statements for silver preparations with colloidal
silver -- hoping the reader will assume that they are the same (they
aren't).

He also ignores the scores of research reports in acknowledged
scientific and medical publications that show the effectiveness of
colloidal silver.

The anecdotal research (about killing staph bacteria in petri dishes)
he does cite is probably correct (but his opinion about the results is
spurious) given that there is little quality control for retail
colloidal silver products.

If you make CS yourself, you can control your own quality. Then run
your own tests (on plants, animals and yourself).

CSMake your own kefir: easy

I make my own kefir. It's good for the colon and serves the same purpose as
yogurt in fighting yeast infections.

1 qt. milk
1 pkg kefir starter from health food store (first time only)

Heat the milk to 180F but do not boil. Cool it down to about 75F. Cover and
let it sit out overnight or until it forms a curd. Chill in refrigerator to
stop the action. Put the cold milk in the blender and add fruit or berries.
Strawberries or peaches are good. I like it sweet, so I add a little corn
syrup or fruit flavored syrup. Serve ice cold. Delicious and healthful.
I save a cup of the curdled milk to use as a starter for the next run and
avoid buying expensive starter.

Dear Hope, Hi! Here`s the CS making info for you. I sure hope CS helps you
as well as it did me!

Here`s how to make CS:
You`ll need 3 nine-volt batteries, (if you can afford the Lithiums they last
4 times longer than the alkalines do.)
2 alligator clips, the ones with two clips on either end of a plastic coated
wire, 2 sets actually, which you can buy at Radio Shack,
2 pieces of .999 fine silver wire, 14 gauge, 5 inches long,
2 cups of distilled water in a glass measuring cup.
Now connect the batteries together, one snapped upside down onto the tops
of the other two. This leaves two empty posts, a positive and a negative.
Connect a clip to each post, and the other ends to the silver wires.
Rinse the cup with distilled water to remove any dust or residue.
Drop the wires into the distilled water, leaving the clips out of the water.
Have the wires remain about one inch apart, with 4 inches in the water. They
like to float around, so it can be a bit tricky. Some folks wrap theirs
around a chopstick or pencil and balance that across the cup. A bend in the
top of the wires works too.
Don`t worry about being shocked, it doesn`t.
Time for a half-hour, and check the wires. If you see bubbles forming on one
wire, it is working! The golden clouds is the forming Colloid.
After 45 minutes, wipe the black stuff off the wires. This is silver oxide
from the oxygen released by the process. It is harmless, I understand, just
ugly.
Replace the wires for another half hour. You now have Colloidal Silver!
Wipe the wires again, disconnect the batteries, and store them away, I use a
ziplock bag. Pour the finished CS into a hard plastic or glass bottle. Don`t
refrigerate. I take 3 big swallows a day for active infections, or one as a
preventive. I also use it topically, and in my eyes for conjunctivitis.
Do expect to start feeling really sick as the bugs begin to die off. The
silver literally explodes the little nasties, and the gunk inside makes us
sick while the body cleans it out. This is called a Herx, short for
Jarisch-Herxheimer Reaction. It`ll last for a couple of days. Drink lots of
water, and keep away from caffeine and alcohol, to help the body to clean
itself out.
  Good luck!!!
Marsha

CS3 batteries vs. mfgd. CS machines

2000-07-09 Thread Trem

Hello Frances,

No it doesn't work as well as some manufactured generators. It does work
however. Current control, voltage, stirring the mix, wetted depth of
electrodes, electrode spacing, timing, temperature, amount of water used,
type of water used and surface area of the electrodes all affect the outcome.

You will have to exercise lots of control to end up with consistent batches
of CS if you use 3 batteries or the equivalent in a manufactured
generator. It is problematic to do it that way from the repeatability and
end product results.

You can make CS from the ridiculous to the sublime.

I take 3 big

Colloidal Silver:
Risk Without Benefit

Stephen Barrett, M.D.

Colloidal silver is a suspension of submicroscopic metallic silver
particles in a colloidal base. Long-term use of silver preparations can
lead to argyria, a condition in which silver salts deposit in the skin,
eyes, and internal organs, and the skin turns ashen-gray. Many cases of
argyria occurred during the pre-antibiotic era when silver was a common
ingredient in nosedrops. When the cause became apparent, doctors stopped
recommending their use, and reputable manufacturers stopped producing
them. The official drug guidebooks (United States Pharmacopeia and
National Formulary) have not listed colloidal silver products since 1975.

Dubious Ads

In recent years, silver-containing products have been marketed with
unsubstantiated claims that they are effective against AIDS, cancer,
infectious diseases, parasites, chronic fatigue, acne, warts,
hemorrhoids, enlarged prostate, and many other diseases and conditions.
Some marketers claim that colloidal silver is effective against hundreds
of diseases.

During 1998, a Florida-based multilevel company, stated:

Our colloidal silver contains 99.99% pure silver particles suspended
indefinitely in demineralized water that kills bacteria and viruses. It
can beapplied topically and/or absorbed into the blood stream
sub-lingually (underthe tongue), thereby avoiding the negative effects
of traditional antibioticsthat kill good bacteria in the lower
digestive tract.

An all natural antibiotic alternative in the purest form available. The
presence of colloidal silver near a virus, fungi, bacterium or any other
single celled pathogen disables its oxygen-metabolism enzyme, its chemical
lung, so to say. The pathogens suffocates and dies, and is cleared out of
thebody by the immune, lymphatic and elimination systems.

Unlike pharmaceutical antibiotics which destroy beneficial enzymes,
colloidal silver leaves these beneficial enzymes intact. Thus colloidal
silveris absolutely safe for humans, reptiles, plants and all
multi-celled livingmatter.

It is impossible for single-celled germs to mutate into silver-resistant
forms, as happens with conventional antibiotics. Also, colloidal silver
cannotinteract or interfere with other medicines being taken.
Colloidal silver istruly a safe, natural remedy for many of mankind's
ills. Colloidal silver canbe taken indefinitely because the body does
not develop a tolerance to it[1]

http://www.seasilver.com/Seasilver Intermational, a California-based
multilevel company, claims that American are suffering from silver
deficiency. Although silver is not an essential nutrient, product
information posted on the company's Web site states:

The depletion of minerals in our soil has left us deficient of silver, one
of our most essential trace minerals, causing a drastic increase in immune
system disorders in our society in the last decade. Research has taught us
that all disease is allowed to manifest itself because of a weakened
immunesystem. In over 20 years of worldwide research on Colloidal
Silver, numerousinterviews with government agencies, health care
practitioners and theirpatients, no other nutrient, herb or drug
(prescription or over-the-counter)is as safe and effective against all
known forms of unfriendly virus, bacteria, and fungus. Additionally,
while it is generally known that mostantibiotics kill only perhaps 6
or 7 different disease organisms, reports haveshown that Colloidal
Silver has been used successfully in the treatment ofover 650
diseases! Furthermore, strains of disease organisms fail to developin
the presence of Colloidal Silver. Colloidal Silver's greatest attribute is
its unique ability to function as a superior second immune system in the
body![2]

The ad below is from the July 1996 issue of Alternative Medicine Digest.

Critical Studies

In 1995, an herbal distributor named Leslie Taylor tested nine commonly
marketed colloidal silver products available at health-food stores and
concluded:

   * Two of the products were contaminated with microorganisms.* The
amount of silver suspended in solution varied from product to product
and would gradually decrease over time.* Only five products actually
showed antibacterial activity in a laboratorytest. To perform the
test, she prepared a culture plate with Staphylococcusaureas bacteria,
which can cause infections in humans. She then placed a dropfrom each
product on the plate and used disks of two common antibiotics as
controls. After eight hours of incubation, she found that bacterial growth
hadbeen inhibited around the antibiotics and four of the products. *

Of course, the fact that a product inhibits bacteria in a laboratory
culture

Is it John?

Stirring really helps distribute the ionic cloud away from the anode as the
atoms are being released during production. If you can get them disbursed
in the water with stirring, they tend not to agglomerate. It makes a much
better product. It will be crystal clear with no color if you keep it
under 15-20 PPM. Will also have a minimal Tyndall effect.

I sure hope CS
 helps you
as well as it did me!

 Here`s how to make CS:
You`ll need 3 nine-volt batteries, (if you can afford the Lithiums
 they last
4 times longer than the alkalines do.)
2 alligator clips, the ones with two clips on either end of a
 plastic coated
wire, 2 sets actually, which you can buy at Radio Shack,
2 pieces of .999 fine silver wire, 14 gauge, 5 inches long,
2 cups of distilled water in a glass measuring cup.
Now connect the batteries together, one snapped upside down onto
 the tops
of the other two. This leaves two empty posts, a positive and a
 negative.
Connect a clip to each post, and the other ends to the silver
 wires.
Rinse the cup with distilled water to remove any dust or residue.
Drop the wires into the distilled water, leaving the clips out of
 the water.
Have the wires remain about one inch apart, with 4 inches in the
 water. They
like to float around, so it can be a bit tricky. Some folks wrap
 theirs
around a chopstick or pencil and balance that across the cup. A
 bend in the
top of the wires works too.
Don`t worry about being shocked, it doesn`t.
Time for a half-hour, and check the wires. If you see bubbles
 forming on one
wire, it is working! The golden clouds is the forming Colloid.
After 45 minutes, wipe the black stuff off the wires. This is
 silver oxide
from the oxygen released by the process. It is harmless, I
 understand, just

Okay. What is the Tyndall effect? All I could find is that Tyndall(John)
was an Irish physicist. Also, where might one purchase a mechanism for
stirring?

Dear Helen,
You are asking a question that all of us have had to face: are we
going to close our minds to evidence or are we going to keep our minds
open and learn? This is a dilemma we have all faced. This is when
you face the fact that others whom you have respected as all-knowing
are only pretty good at diagnosing or using only part of the arsenal
available to fight illness and have feet of clay when it comes to
looking outside the square.

Why tell? Keep your knowledge discrete. Regurgitate that which is
required to achieve standard recognition for your exams - don't rock
the boat. Keep your personal standards higher; try NOT to confide in
a 'best friend' - [disastrous!] - let the list be your outlet.

A friend who practices alternatives says her M.D. is convenient - it
opens doors so she can get in and do real work.

You can get a stirrer for nothing at Mc Donald's one of those long

Doesn't have to be stirred constantly just keep it in motion .

2000-07-09 Thread Trem

Hi List,

Not to argue with you Ken but our auto shutoff generator makes crystal
clear CS up to 20-25 PPM as measured with a Hanna PWT using the mechanical
stirring motor we have incorporated into our newest generator. The CS does
not get any color and has an almost imperceptible Tyndall effect. And it's
a lot easier than having to heat water or rig up some kind of thermal hot
plate. Most people aren't up for that. Many experimenter types are but I
think most people aren't.

And, cooling water that has been heated is really problematic. What about
people that live in cold or warm houses? How hot is hot to start
with. How cool does it have to get before thermal currents cease to help,
etc. If we're looking for repeatability and ease of use, a motor with a
constant stirring speed and a constant current regulator with auto shutoff
is about as good as you can get with LVDC process.

Sorry to toot our own horn but that's how I see it.

They are very proud of the brown sludge their generator makes for some

I think they recommend using sea salt as well. A no no.
With their set up, there's also a possibility of getting some lead and
tin into the mix as the wires have exposed solder on the ends. Not
extremely likely, but possible.
You can do something similar for a lot less. You can make fairly good
CS with such a unit but it takes a lot of care and experimentation. I
doubt you will be able to go stronger than 3 to 5 PPM without making
yellow to brown colored CS.

One thing I discovered (through the use of various friends who've
had/have back problems) is that associated with almost all of the disc
problems is an infection.

I accidently cured (in 10 minutes) a back problem I had been having
for several weeks (had to walk bent over, etc.) when I used the Zapper
(Clark's) for a sinus condition that was re-developing (you notice
that I hadn't used the Zapper -- nor CS -- for several weeks).

I loaned a Zapper to a friend with major, long term (years) back
problems and 90% of his pain disappeared -- he now has his own Zapper
and uses CS sporadically. Another friend has had several of the
verterbra(sp?) in his back fused, and was still in pain. A Zapper
loan stopped all of his pain.

I'm not entirely sure the origin of the back pains were really in the
back, but might be reflections from somewhere else in the body
that's infected. But whatever it is, the Zapper worked (and CS now
seems to be keeping the back pain away).

You're doctor's right about the mercury amalgam fillings. He should
have mentioned teeth with root canals, too -- have them pulled (there
is infection in the capillaries of the teeth that root canals don't
get rid of).

A new study directed by the Scripps Institutes' K. Michael Pollard ...goes
one step further. Using a new, silver-based alloy which is being proposed as
a substitute filling material for mercury amalgam, Pollard showed that
silver also has the capacity to generate a strong pathological immune-system
response, and that silver, like mercury, migrates to body tissues within a
very short period of time. In short, both mercury and silver have a negative
impact on the immune system. In addition, their effect is intensified when
both metals are present.

The problem is that the filling is an *alloy* of silver. That means
silver and something else. It's the something-else that's the
problem. Elemental silver is non-toxic according to all the sources
I've been able to find. Silver -- by itself -- won't even turn your
skin a bluish hue (argyria). It takes a silver compound to do that.

(Colloidal silver isn't made with an alloy of silver, such as sterling
silver. It's made with 99.9% pure silver or better.)
