Re: CSHello and question ABOUT CATARACTS
Not with CS, but I have heard several people having success with flax seed oil. Apparently there are several types of cataracts, the Crisco kind and the scarring kind. Maybe others as well. The Crisco kind comes from eating hydrogenated oils, such as vegetable shorting and margarine. It is deposits of hydrogenated oil in the lens. The other is from scarring, ususally from uV radiation, that is excessive exposure to the sun or sunning beds, but other possible causes are chemical burns to the eyes. The flax seed oil apparently only works for the Crisco kind. It is possible I didn't use them consistently enough long enough, but I started out faithfully following instructions, then as time went on with no improvement, I got sloppy with using them. I also tried several other things mentioned on this list--CS with MSM, CS with DMSO, coconut oil IN the eyes, flaxseed oil IN the eyes, straight DMSO (only did one eye with that, it was WAY too painful!). I believe I successfully slowed the progression of the cataracts somewhat, but they never cleared. At one point I thought there was significant improvement, but that turned out to be a misinterpretation on my part of what the optometrist told me. I forget how long I kept up my efforts, but eventually I went ahead with cataract surgery. My post surgery vision isn't perfect, I still have to wear glasses, esp for close vision. If my eyes weren't so dry, and if I didn't have so many floaters from vitreous detachments in both eyes, it would, I'm sure be much better. But I can use binoculars much better now, can see so much better for watching birds which is my main hobby. And colors! I had a rust brown sweater for years, when I got it out to wear post surgery, imagine my surprise to find out it was actually a burgundy red! sol -- The Silver List is a moderated forum for discussing Colloidal Silver. Re: CSHello and question ABOUT CATARACTS
I fought cataracts for years and flaxseed oil (linseed oil) actually helped but the cataracts came back. I finally had cataract surgery, 0 cost with Medicare, but they missed pieces of the cataracts and one covered the replacement lens. DR said I would have to live with it. I bought 6 bottles of can-C and the cataract piece moved off the new lens after two days. I still used all 6 bottles. That was 6 years ago. This year my DR said the other eye also has a piece of the old cataract they missed, but it doesn't effect my vision. I didn't know it was there. If it moves to cover the lens I will try Can-C again. I remembered reading about Manuka honey and Cataracts. Quickly looked and found some information. I am sure there is much more and maybe better but just to get you started exploring what may help here are a couple of links. http://www.ammas.com/ar/home.cfm?r=vaqid=141979bid=0topicid=1058 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBjcK1U4flI They do sting a bit. The ones I made I mixed 2:1 with distilled water. I used them for an eye infection and they worked really well for that. I also used them on my dog post eye surgery and had good success with a budding infection in her eye. The honey I used had a UMF of 12. (Unique Manuka Factor, they don't know exactly what it is in the honey besides the Peroxide effects thus the UMF, how they measure for this I don't know!). Wishing you the best in your search. Re: CSHello and question..
Hi Melody, I routinely use CS, CS/MSM, or CS/DMSO for my eye issues. I have the beginnings of cataracts (I'm 67) and ots of floaters from Lyme disease. I've noticed a slight decrease in floaters over time, but can't say that my cataracts have lessened. I recently started with a new eye guy and told him I'd like him to make a creful note of my cataracts, as I'd be experimenting to see what i could do for them. I've heard that N-Acetylcarnosine can help diminish them. I've got some drops, but got distracted by other health issues so haven't begun my experiment.
