In fact, I usually recommend to people that they NOT take MSM before they go to bed, because your brain will be so active you won't be able to fall asleep. But back to your original question, MSM powder can be taken with either hot or cold liquid. It is not degraded by heat. So you could take it with hot tea, hot coffee or cold orange juice. It can be added to a protein shake, apple sauce, yogurt or even soup! The options are endless. Those of us who are truly hardcore put the powder on our tongues and wash it down with water. To make a saturated solution dissolve MSM in the silver until no more will dissolve. Decant the liquid without disturbing any remaining crystals in the bottom of the mixing container. This may be used in any manner that CS may be used, which means anywhere including breathing it. Don't use a heat-type vaporizer; it will produce mostly distilled water. When used with a nebulizer, or airbrush, and oxygen it has amazing results with lung and Upper Resp. conditions. Some people get remarkable results with tablespoonfuls daily others quaff quarts. Diarrhea with no other likely cause is an indication of taking too much. I take a small swallow, most every day. More if I get sick. I have not been sick very often since. Two colds, one flue in about 4 yr. It is highly improbable that it can hurt you, and very probable it will help. Bottom line, do your own research, if you have concerns. Note that if a person has a bacterial infection, they may get a fever, chills, headache, etc, when starting on CS due to killed bacteria releasing toxins; the Herx. Start small; increase slowly. CSRe: MSM as wetting agent
Pam, MSM is a derivative of DMSO. DMSO is a solvent, which means it penetrates through the skin like water through a tissue (the wetting agent effect). Because DMSO is a sulphur-based compound, it has a garlic-like smell, which, when you put DMSO on your skin, would in seconds cause your breath to smell like garlic. MSM does not have this odour problem. Whether the processing of DMSO to MSM gives it more benefits to the body than DMSO I am not certain of. But Brooks Bradley puts as much MSM into the CS as it takes for it to reach saturation (no more will dissolve) and uses that both externally and internally, as much as the client is willing to take (no overdose or side-effect worries). He adds ascorbic acid to offset the bitterness of MSM. I assume that means he puts in the ascorbic acid first (don't know how much) and then reaches saturation with MSM afterwards. Hope this helps. Terry Wayne --- Pam Whitmire paw...@lcc.net wrote: Could someone please explain the term 'wetting agent' in relation to CS? CSRe: MSM and DMSO
Hello Terry. In answer to your inquiry, I offer the following: DMSO was isolated by a Russian named Alexander Saytzeff, in 1866. The real seminal work with this substance was conducted by two Americans; Stanley W. Jacob, M.D., and Robert J Herschler (former Applications Research for the Chemical Products Division of Crown Zellerbach Corp., Camas, Washington (circa 1960-1971). Without going into great and/or excruiating detail, I will simply say that; to my knowledge NO HUMAN BEING HAS EVER DIED AS A DIRECT RESULT OF TOXICITY FROM DMSO! I am familiar with dozens of inuendos, spins, slanted journalism, etc., articles in the alleopathic press outletsbut not one actual, proveable, documented case involving a post-mortem substantiation. Do understand, we do not have access to all of the medical journal literature, world-wide, but to a large part thereof. Only one case of published documentation, so-called...have I seen personally. It was a reference in Lancet, the respected British journal; and the article claimed that an Irish woman had died of complications caused by the use of DMSO. Strangely, however, there was no corroborating medical documentation of an objective nature. Dr. Jacob was involved directly, and indirectly, in observing the effects of DMSO onliterallythousands of patients. He reports NOT A SINGLE CASE of toxic-induced death. Actually, he reported NO CASES of toxic reactionat allfrom the DMSO itself. I am totally bewildered by the, almost, total absence of knowledge by the lay-public, about what DMSO ACTUALLY IS and what its mechanism of action isand its TRACK RECORD as a benign substance in a --SOLITARY--setting. There are a number of books on DMSO; one by Dr. William C. Douglass, M.D. is quite good. However, the most informative (but somewhat dated in portions) is a 1973 publication, The Persecuted Drug--The Story of DMSO , by Pat McGrady, Sr. The book can, frequently, be found at Half-Priced book stores and is well worth readingit is well-written, accurately informative and well-documented. It will reveal the true---and complete---history of DMSO up to 1973. Due to continuing institutionalized resistance since that time, very little constructive research has transpired within the conventional medical community (NONE). It is difficult for me to be completely objective about this situation, as my feelings become quite visceral when I reflect upon the past occurrences/treatment of this substanceand its derivations..by the FDA, AMA, The Captive Press, etc. I make no personal recommendations as to the efficacy of DMSO, MSM, or related compounds; but will inform you that in nearly 35 years of use, both in vitro and in vivo, on a wide variety of mammals.including myself.I have never observed ANY toxic reactions directly attributable to DMSO as a stand-alone substance. It can, however, enhance the toxicity of other substances, simply because of its nature as a superb transporter/solvent/surface-tension reducer and organic emulsifier. Our research has indicated that the mode of operation for DMSO and MSM is identical. Additionally, the purity standards are identical for veterinary and human useages. We use it on our animals, both externally and internallyprimarily as a carrier for other substances and in joint-lubricant enhancing protocols. A departing admonition, if I maythe next time someone relates an off-hand, sidewalk-consultation about ANY controversial substance, just ask them to produce the data or to identify their source..in some detail. You will, in most cases, be met with a deafening wall of silence. Please forgive the over-kill in my response; but this, particular, subject does strike a nerve in my psyche. I do hope there is some useful information within this epistle. Sincerely. Brooks Bradley. Terry Wayne wrote: Brooks, I can get DMSO from a local feed store, but they expressed concern about what I was doing with it, since it is so toxic. Are there concerns about DMSO? Is MSM safer? (I'll bet it's not cheaper!) Why do the feed stores sell it? How would I use it on my animals? Thanks, Terry Wayne _ Do You Yahoo!? Re: CSRe: MSM
Hi Sharon, I have breast cancer, and I know I have a large feeder blood vessel mass feeding the tumor. I take MSM, now I'm wondering if I should stop. Do you think taking MSM is increasing the blood flow and food chain to the tumor? Kass Something you might want to read: Hi All Rifers, At his moment I have a patient with a cava vena (cavae vein) complex...secondary to sarcoma metastasis from lungs. This is a problem always related with linfadenophaty of the surrounding lymphatic tissue around a vein, in this case the cava vein. The symptoms are quite impressive. The patient start slowly to get edema (inflammation) of the face, neck and pain at the sternocleido mastoideus. Lately starts to develop equimosis (small quantities of blood under the skin) at the neck, increases the blood pressure and presents disphony due to the pressure exerted on the vocal chords. Under normal treatment it is recommend chemo and radio therapy (the only know treatment from Cancer Doctors), and if the patient has problems with breathing or swallowin this is an emergency, but not is present at this time. The reason to send this is to know Rifer's if had chance to treat this with a R/B machine, and the expected results, frequencies, etc. Take her temp every 3 hours and tell me what it. Bet it's between 96 and 97 degrees. :) What is happening is the sweat glands are plugged. Put her in a sonna for a hour or two and see if the skin problems don't start to clear up. All these things would determine what is feeding that tumor. Helping someone with cancer scares me, to be quite frank. I think if someone has had it with doctors and the medical profession in general and insists on going the alternative route, and therefore needs suggestions and advice, the best I could do would be to tell what I THINK I would do in the same situation.
