Re: [OSM-talk-be] Power generation - tag update
Hi, On 07/03/2013 05:28 AM, Marc Gemis wrote: I wonder whether they will run a bot to change them globally. I have asked this question on the talk maling list. I don't think this is a good idea, I actually closed the overpass export in JOSM without saving, since by the looks of it, most of these nodes aren't even power stations to begin with, so re-tagging them as a 'plant' is not correct. The use of 'generator' for a transformator device isn't intuitive to me, but I guess that's a cultural thing. I think most of us have a different mental picture when I say 'generator' vs. 'transfo'. We'll have to look at each individual node/way to determe what to do with it, luckily there aren't much of them, fixing 'designation' key was a lot more work. Mvg, Glenn ___ Talk-be mailing list Talk-be@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-be
[OSM-talk-be] Fwd: [OSM-talk] Power generation refinement approved
As Glenn already pointed out: no automatic remapping will be done. -- Forwarded message -- From: François Lacombe francois.laco...@telecom-bretagne.eu Date: Wed, Jul 3, 2013 at 10:15 AM Subject: Re: [OSM-talk] Power generation refinement approved To: Marc Gemis marc.ge...@gmail.com Hi Marc, I think no bot or massive re-tagging will be used since the update process is a bit complex for such a process. Several things has to be done : - The first one is to bring generators features and plant together (today we often have a global power station or standalone generators but only a few situation with the two). power=plant on the perimeter or relation and power=generator on devices which convert power. - The second is to have a better description of output ratings of all that stuff. - Finally, the 2 points above will lead to avoid power=station (as a power plant) usage on the map. I will ask for osmose improvements to ease that work. *François Lacombe* francois dot lacombe At telecom-bretagne dot eu http://www.infos-reseaux.com 2013/7/3 Marc Gemis marc.ge...@gmail.com Will the current tags be updated by a bot, or do we need to remap them one-by-one ? m On Sun, Jun 30, 2013 at 1:02 AM, François Lacombe francois.laco...@telecom-bretagne.eu wrote: Hi, Last June 11, the power generation refinement proposal was approved by 30 wiki users. http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/Power_generation_refinement It aims to provide a strong and consistent tagging model to map power plants and power generators too. http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:power%3Dplant http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:power%3Dgenerator Thus, power=plant replace the deprecated power=station (for places where power is generated only, see http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/Substation_refinementfor other OSM use cases). power=generator is reserved for devices which convert power from one kind to another kind. Likewise, last year's low zoom tiles are easier to understand when it comes to borders (and is therefore more useful to people looking to identify the general location of an entire country, something OSM isn't the best resource for). +1 Would love to see this on osm.org http://osm.org! +1 Yeah, mapnik's low zoom level are quite empty and ugly. colliar signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature ___ talk mailing list talk@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk

Þau eru samt að íhuga fjársýsluleyfið svokallaða en fordæmi eru fyrir því að import með álíka leyfi hafi verið framkvæmd á OSM grunninum. http://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk-is/2013-February/000836.html - Svavar Kjarrval On 03/07/13 16:59, Jóhannes Birgir Jensson wrote: Hvað í þessu er það sérstaklega sem truflar okkur? http://opendefinition.org/okd/ Þann 3.7.2013 10:15, skrifaði Svavar Kjarrval: Hæ.

Re: [Talk-it] landuse
Tranquilli vi seguo di continuo, sono io Darkswan_Import ;) Per quanto riguarda area=yes è tutto spiegato nella wiki inglese: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:area The area=yes tag is required for some closed ways when used to define an Area (polygon); however, for closed ways with other tags there is an assumption that the way defines an area. ed elenca sotto che landuse=* (qualunque valore) implica già il fatto di essere un'area.

Chiar Atilla ne-a explicat cum se pun tagurile in aceste situatii. On 03.07.2013 23:07, Michael Häckel wrote: Am Mittwoch, 3.
