I ended up editing the \b, I had to rewrite the filter, sometimes a
couple of times as it would return after a reboot. Non the less, it
eventually would stick. For filters that didn't work I separated
the enclosed word and then wrote another criteria using an and / or
with the next criteria.
Example: Contains [EBTA]
  OR contains any ofSFT|[EMAIL PROTECTED]
The [EBTA] in the conversion would have turned into \bEBTA\b.

It appears Contains, Contains any of, have been used by some as match
and match any of with success. On this machine I didn't have any luck
with Match, and hadn't tried Match any of. That is just what worked
for me, YMMV :)

The catch all filter I used at the very end was: I took the end of my
email address's, for this example will use 2, and this is how I set it
up which seems to work with my filters:
Example: Contains any of [EMAIL PROTECTED]|[EMAIL PROTECTED] the post
were moved to the inbox and removed from the server.

This worked for me, anything else that didn't have a filter seemed
to slip by the system and end up being a Batxxx.tmp file and was not
deleted from the server. Since you may not have read all the threads
in this post: The automatic placement of posts into the inbox was not
working for this machine with the filters I had, but when I added the
filter above, that seemed to take care of my problems.

Strange NFS editing problem

2004-09-06 Thread Richard Wakeford
Hello,

This has happened several times whilst editing my rather large Blacked
filter. On trying to get it working I have done lots of editing on its
25 lines of Contains or Contains any of conditions. After about a
dozen editing actions (for instance removing the \b) the particular
filter being worked on suddenly jumps to the bottom of the list and,
each time another action is performed in the box, it jumps another
couple of blank spaces down and has to be chased by moving down.
Everything still works but it's just a bit weird and is reproducible but
only after several editing actions have first been done.

NFS: Old filter not working

2004-09-06 Thread Marcus Ohlström
In the OFS, I had a filter triggering on

   Sender matching abc [EMAIL PROTECTED]

(I don't remember the correct terminology and I do not have the OFS
available anymore to look it up, but I think you understand what I
mean).

When converted to the NFS, it looked like

   Sender contain abc [EMAIL PROTECTED]

and the filter stopped working. I had to change it to:

   Sender contain abc
   AND Sender contain [EMAIL PROTECTED]

to get it back on track.

Now, is this a conversion error, a bug in the OFS or a bug in the NFS?

Delete an attachment via NFS

2004-09-06 Thread Alexander S. Kunz
Hello tbbeta,

I just connected TB v3 to our Exchange server via IMAP - works good so
far (only I am totally unfamiliar with IMAP *g*)

Question: s there a way to delete (not extract) an attachment? I see
that the NFS allows matching a filename, but there is no action to
delete attachment ... do I oversee something?

(we're getting the same terms conditions file from one of our
creditors with each and every order confirmation, and that file is
100kB in size - we're getting 15 to 20 order confirmations a day and
my heart bleeds seeing space wasted like this - its very redundant
redundant - up to now I have configured GFI MailSecurity to auto-strip
the attachment, but it leaves a securitynotice.txt because it
stripped the attachment... if anyone can still follow me? *g*)

I'm just glad I found a filter that is working ;)

NFS: subfilters puzzlement, and a few UI suggestions

2004-09-06 Thread MaXxX
Maybe I'm dumb, but could someone please explain the workings of the
subfilters to me?

Suppose I have this:

 Filter A
   Subfilter A1
   Subfilter A2
 Filter B

I presume subfilters A1 and A2 are checked when filter A fires, right?

What if A has Continue processing unchecked? Are the subfilters
checked?

What if A fires and moves the message? What do the subfilters operate
on, especially if they decide to move the message elsewhere?

If A has Continue processing checked, but A1 fires and it has
Continue processing unchecked, does the processing stop?

If filter A is for manual re-filtering only, its sub-filters are
this way, too, right? Does it mean that sub-filter's manual only
setting is irrelevant?

Also a few notes: the buttons in the NFS window are not really well
placed:
 1. General tab: the Block button should read Add block
 2. Actions tab:
   - the Up/Down buttons should rather be on the right
side of the chosen actions list
   - the Edit and Delete buttons should be next to the upper window,
not the lower one. I keep thinking that I'll delete or edit one
of the Available Actions, not the selected one
   - that leaves a lonely Add button. But seeing as drag-and-drop
reordering is available in the upper list, why not get rid of the
Add, Up and Down buttons, and add the action of moving an action
from the Available ones to the chosen ones with drag-and-drop?
Suitably explained in a one-line Drag the actions from this
 window to that window label...

Also, the bug Add Block / Delete / an empty block is left is still
there.

regedit /e %drvPm%\%srcdirPM%tbreg.reg hkey_current_user\software\rit

Doing a search in the registry on 'RIT' locates the above directory.
(i.e. [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\rit]). Find next locates the following:

[HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-1959122200-2701133621-1078554169-1004\Software\rit]

So when I attempt to re-install v3 with 7-zip WinXp doesn't see the
program which I suspect is a registry problem. Any ideals? Others
confirm? TIA!

NA Any ideas?

I had two factors, don't know if there the same for you.
1) I had some messages that didn't get filtered correctly and ended up
in a tmp file. What that has to do with why it stays open I don't
know.
2) I cleaned out over 3000 batXXX.tmp files, found my hard drive was
fragmented around 7%. I start having problems after about 4%.

To fix: 1) I defragged 2)I opened the bat and made the control center stay open using
preferences. Started and stopped the Bat a couple of times. Then,
this was a lucky doing on my part, I put the control on hide using
preferences and rebooted.

For whatever reason - fragmentation, deleting a massive amount of tmp
files, or the reboot. I don't know which of these actions changed the CC
to stay hidden until used.

I do know TheBat, at least on this machine, does not work well with a
high number of TMP files and if the fragmentation is getting close to
5% I start having all sorts of glitches and slow downs...

Yesterday the first one raised its ugly head again, today (in 3.0.0.7)
I've got it a couple of times (they are much more persistant than in
the 2.13bx versions.

The only positive thing (up to now) is: I get them _only_ in the RTV.
So switching to PTV let me see the message again. After reading a

patiently for the next Hate-Mail :-)

MT I wonder, does everyone see The Bat! taking no upwards of 89% - 95% of
MT their CPU constantly? Also, Peak Mem usage is at 108Megs almost
MT instantly on startup.

Dennis I'm seeing 18,040k at the moment.

Just after my last email I was using 66mb. I closed it down and ran it
again -- started off at about 24mb, a minute or 2 later was at 22mb, and
is now at 33.

Doug Hm, yes TheBat! is taking from 0 to 98% memory use -- this seems to
Doug cycle. I can't tell what is happening. Two minutes ago while I was doing
Doug nothing with it it went up to 98%, now it is only 1 or 2% as I type.

Mine sits pretty constantly at around 22MB 0-2%, but I'm having to close and
open all the time to test filters, so that's not much help.

Doug But something is very wrong, I agree. I'm using the release version, not
Doug a Beta.

Your sig says you're using v3, so you're using a beta...
