Seems OK at first sight.

Thanks to the calendar I have now found what triggered an attempt to make a
back-up to a non-existing "K" Hard Disk (besides the Back-Up that did work). 👍
Puzzled me for years! 🙄

Something that still goes wrong (as it did before in v9): in templates the
choice for a font did not seem to "stick".
It still does not, but (unless I am mistaken aka I did not read it well) the
error message seems to have changed:

---
Customize Templates
---

---
OK

Probably something I have done wrong...

First time I ran it, it hung before really opening and I had to kill it with task-manager.

The second time it really started and as you can see, I am able to even write a message.

In both cases I used the /STARTUP_TIMING_LOG option.

After sending this message I will close TB! and see what happens when I try to launch it for the third time.

The startup of .45 sure takes longer than with .33

Tried it. No such file is written.
The only thing I get is the screen in which I am asked if I want to use an Alpha version.

Answering yes gives me the opening screen (the one with the Bat picture) and then nothing.

TB just hangs at that opening screen, consuming up to + 90% of the processor-time.

Actually, there is, though not a nice way and not provided by RitLabs.

This is MAU 'speaking':

,--/ \
| In a message of the thread mentioned above I said I had found a way of
| deleting them. It works, but it has some 'buts' and 'ifs'.
|
| There is a file named 'TagStat.TXT' in MAIL directory that lists all
| Tags that have been defined or created. Each tag shows some long numbers
| that I assume somehow refer to the message(s) that have that tag
| assigned.
|
| If you exit TB and open that file with a text editor, you may delete a
| Tag (line) or all of them. Or, if you want to delete all tags, you may
| just delete the file.
|
| BUT, that deleting method only works IF:
|
| a) The tag(s) you are deleting is(are) not currently assigned to any
| message.
|
| b) The tag(s) you are deleting is(are) not currently being used in the
| filter of any VF. I have not tried with filters in S.O., but I expect
| the same.
|
| If a) or b) are not true for any tags, TB will make them appear again in
| TagStat.TXT file, even re-creating it if it had been deleted.
|
| I don't know if there are any plans for further development of this Tags
| feature but, for me, and sorry to say so, the current implementation is
| neither useful nor usable.
`-8<---

"Strangely" enough the two "gandalfmeister-mails" did not show up in a the
virtual folder where I can see all the labelled mails.

When deleting the tags from TagStat.TXT I saw that both automaticcaly created
tags only had three zero's instead of longer numbers after them:

[This starts to smell fishy :-) ]

I know it comes from the Latin verb dicere. 8 years of Latin lessons were not
completely forgotten, albeit the last ones
date from 35 years ago :-)

Perhaps I was not clear enough; unless I am mistaken, the "idem dito" WE are
using comes from the Latin "idem dicto",
which was not used by the Romans, but more recently, in (mostly) administrative
texts.

Latin being used in science, religion, administration occurred in many
European Countries, also in England. The
English language was much more influenced by the Latin language than by the
Italian language.

That's what intrigues me: why did the English start to use the Tuscan
variant (ditto) of the Italian detto? It seems
to me that "ditto" was introduced in England at about the same time "idem
dicto" was used over here, but both developed
independent from one another.

Ditto is not being used in Dutch.

trick to delete the tags, without further explanation of the procedure, or did
you write a follow-up to that one?

Personally I have one tag, the first one I made when the feature became
available, that doesn't show up when you
right-click a message and choose "labels". The other ones were added after
installing a more recent version (or beta
ftm) and they do show up.

I suppose that deleting, then recreating the tag (label) would make it show up
in the right-click-list.

The problem was already in 5.1.6.1 (but see "BTW", later in this message), the
problem did/does not exist in the 5.1.0.4 beta...

The pictures I am talking about are not the ones contained within the message,
but those that are referenced to and must
be downloaded.

In 5.1.6.1 and 5.1.6.2 the problem occurs as well with TB!-viewer as with the
"system-viewer".

Am I the only one experiencing this?

BTW: after I uninstalled 5.1.6.2 and reinstalled the 5.1.6.1 msi
and launched TB! by letting it start after
installation had finished, I got an error message (since I could not
capture it's content with Ctrl+C, I took a
screenshot). Strangely enough The "About-screen" said it still was the
5.1.6.2-version. I am sure I did use the 5.1.6.1
msi. When I uninstalled it again, it said it was 5.1.6.1 (as expected).

It depends on the message. I have made a little screencast (1,64 MB) to prove

But perhaps I can forward you a message in which, when clicking on "Consultez

I think we are talking about different things.

If you have chosen to use the IE HTML viewer and you click on a link within a
mail, the internet-page is opened in IE.
If you have chosen to use the TB!-viewer and you click on a link within a
message, the internet-page is opened in your

As far as the control (TB! or IE) is concerned: there seems to be
something wrong, but I will try that out after
restarting TB!

I cannot confirm that.

Are you sure you don't have "Goto next unread message with the SmartSpace
reading" ticked in Options (though I must say
that even that does not trigger the behaviour you described over here)?

Personally I do not use the spacebar to page through the message (I use the
mouse wheel), but I was kind of lost when I
found out that in V5 the left side button (in a 5-button mouse) could
no longer be used to go to the next unread
message. Luckily I was able to mimic this behaviour by assigning
ctrl-alt-right to this button when using The Bat! in
the software that came with the mouse.

Nice to have the choice, but since you call it the "System HTML viewer"
would it be very difficult to make that the
viewer of the default browser (or is that simply impossible)?

As it is now, clicking a link opens the page in IE, whatever the default

Actually it is a bad idea to compare software with cars, but if you insist...

Did you pay for that car or did you trade in the earlier model you bought for
the next model without paying anything at
all?

If you have paid in order to be able to use the new model, or if you have
bought the new model without having an older
model: did you take a test drive?

If the answer to that question is yes, was the problem known to you when you
decided to buy?

If the answer is no, were you forced to buy/upgrade? If yes, check
with the one who made you do it. If no, take
responsibility for that decision.

As you can see, I'm still using 4.2.44.2 (and should go back because
4.2.44.2 suffers from the problem with images on
https servers) because I don't have the time, nor the setup to simply test it
on a non-productive setup. Based upon the
messages I can read here, I would not have relased 5 if I were Ritlabs, but I
as a user of 4, I also decide not to use 5
until the features I need and already have in 4 seem to work properly in 5.

This was already in the BT if I remember well (not opened by me), but until

yet. So, I'll report it if it occurs again.

On the other hand, as Thomas has reported I have seen some newsletters with

2) as seen in Browser: http://www.screencast.com/t/ETyRY63mzP text on left

Running 4.2.44 but I can't compare it to 4.2.42 since that one had the dreaded
"hanging downloads-bug".

Therefore I used 4.2.33.1 Beta.

It's a little bit early to state that 4.2.44 is free from "The dreaded
"hanging downloads-bug"", it took some time
earlier before I received a message that showed the problem.

BTW, if there should go something wrong with messages sent to partous at com
domain (registrar says everything is OK,
but searching Whois doesn't reflect that), I am available through similar
partous at be adresses...
